"Located at the Canopy by Hilton Hotel, this bar boasts one gorgeous view of the Dallas skyline. Order some apps, including shishito peppers, edamame, or a crab roll, to go with their impressive wine list. Or, try out a custom cocktail." - Courtney E. Smith, Amy McCarthy

"Arguably one of the best views from a hotel bar is at Upside West Village, on the 8th floor of the Canopy Hotel. Sip on a refreshing cocktail — the Miranda Priestly is a solid choice, made with Marker’s Mark, raspberry, and mint simple syrup. Or choose a draft beer to enjoy while snacking on a charcuterie board." - Courtney E. Smith, Rachel Pinn

Upside West Village has a good view of the city, it’s relatively quiet and it’s always a good place to have some drinks and light food. I got the old fashioned and sliders. The service was quick and friendly. The decor is also very beautiful. You can sit outside to catch a good view or inside to stay away from the elements.

Loved this place. Ideal for relaxing after work with a great view. Great drinks and experience (special thanks to Chels and Justin!!). Dinner was also delicious!

If you are finding yourself in the uptown, cityplace area of Dallas needing a spot to relax and have some great bites, and a tasty beverage….then be sure and swing by Upside West Village. A lofty, open vibe with outstanding city views awaits you on the 8th floor rooftop of the Canopy by Hilton property. We had no problem securing a patio seat with perfect skyline views on a Saturday evening. Their plates to share menu is perfect for when you are feeling “peckish” (I recommend the tandoori chicken bites)…. The drinks are tasty and this spot is great for either beginning an evening on the town or ending one.. great access off of US 75…and it’s a block away from the DART rail station if you don’t want to drive downtown! Absolutely a must try!

Google
We had a great date night here! There is inside and outside patio seating with a beautiful view of the sky line. The food was yummy and the drinks were reasonable priced. Our waiter/staff were very friendly. Highly recommend closer to sunset/nighttime. We went around 5:30 and we got roasted. So dress accordingly. Happy eating!

Google
Very nice rooftop to enjoy the city view with cocktails. They had good music playing in the background. The cocktails were also really good.

Google
Beautiful Rooftop bar in Dallas. Awesome downtown scenic view from top. Friendly staff, good food and fancy drinks. I love this place will highly recommended for family, friends as well as kids- friendly bar.

Google
Great views, especially after dark, of downtown Dallas Skyline. The food was good if not great but you are here for the views. The food was not over priced which surprised me. We enjoyed the chips and salsa / guacamole, the sushi roll and deviled eggs - all good. Desert was very nice chocolate cake and an ice cream cookie sandwich.

Google
My daughter took me to the Upside West Village rooftop bar to see the sunset. This was one of the better rooftop bars with the view of downtown skyline. Everything was great except they didn't have chips for their 3 dip appetizer, which was surprising. Sliders were just ok. At least their drinks and the sunset made it worth the price.

Emily P.

Yelp
The best views! Yummy drinks, service is always great. The only sad part is the hours

Lori C.

Yelp
I met a friend for late night drink/snack to catch up and visit. What a nice relaxing place! Nice comfortable seating, view of downtown, just so nice! Waitress attentive and no hovering:) the drinks were refreshing and good. We ordered the Charcuterie Board and Tandoori Chicken bites Nice place to unwind after a long day

Terry D.

Yelp
View is perfectly amazing at sunset! The ambiance has the the opportunity to be a great spot! Unfortunately, the service is less than you'd expect for a date location or upscale service. Waiting more than 15 minutes for drinks seems off for a bar that wasn't even half full. Do better or change your name to downside.

Jessica T.

Yelp
Favorite rooftop in town. Love the downtown view. Nice place for a drink and a small bite. Everything is open seating so service can be hit or miss but you can always just go to the bar.

Nao J.

Yelp
The view and drinks are great, the food is ok and the service is super slow. I would have ordered another drink but my waitress never came back eventhough it was really slow. I stay at the hotel pretty often but I probably won't come back as there are so many better options in the city.

Krystal K.

Yelp
Service was TERRIBLE! Atmosphere was amazing though, great sunset views. Would be perfect for a drinks/apps type first date (if service was on par).

Aiden F.

Yelp
Took my moms, brother and his wife to this rooftop during a business day. Service was great, their food is really flavorful, but the cocktails are a too expensive to not taste like craft cocktails, too sweet.

Kaylee C.

Yelp
Amazing view! My friend and I had two bottles of wine and a charcuterie board! Definitely a place to go with friends! We enjoyed our time here!!

Adam U.

Yelp
What a view of the city. Great service and excellent Margarita. Easy access to the place from the highway and lot of available parking on the street

Richard S.

Yelp
Great place to wait for things to happen like getting served! View is spectacular, Food is ok but service is CONSISTENTLY TERRIBLE! Not unusual to wait 20 for a beer. I've been here multiple times and have always had problems getting food or drink.

Mitchell O.

Yelp
Eli and Oscar were so fun! They make the best cocktails and have great conversation! Eli's mojito was made with fresh limes and mint the flavor blew me away! Would love to come back!

Sandra K.

Yelp
Vibes and views are immaculate! Especially at sunset. I got the Yvonne de carlo, which was a little watery but strong. The other pink drink was tok watery. Flatbread was a nice accompaniment and not too expensive.

Sandra T.

Yelp
Great and cozy upstairs bar area and patio, staff is very nice, friendly and attentive. Shakina and Stephanie at the bar were delightful and so helpful. ~ Views are spectacular of downtown Dallas. This is a nice spot to have a drink and a appetizer while enjoying the views and a conversation. This place is hard to find in the listings because it is classified as a bar but they have plenty of shareable plates. (This is situated on the 8th floor of the Canopy by Hilton and has a dedicated elevator behind the wall of the hotel desk.) ~ For sure this is a nice spot in the heart of Cityplace!

David J.

Yelp
Awesome. Servers were super accommodating. Great Views drinks and vibes. Definitely worth a visit!

Andrea C.

Yelp
I wish I knew this terrace before, I would have brought my mom and dad here! Most beautiful view of Dallas at sunset! Food is delicious, ambience is cozy, romantic and modern, spacious and awesome for pictures! Device is discrete but nice

Sheila R.

Yelp
The Upside of being at Upside in Uptown is the spectacular view of the city! When you walk into the hotel pass the right side of the guest services desk and catch a ride on the elevator to the 8th floor. Once your out of the elevator make a right and you'll be at the bar. Highly recommended going during the weekday right before the sunsets it's beautiful! The service was good. The food was okay, but I wouldn't recommend going just for the food. The cocktails and the view are worth the visit!

Carly H.

Yelp
Views over Service. And the flatbread was pretty good, but there's not a lot of food options. Definitely don't come here for dinner. Drinks and vibes only (but maybe come tipsy or be prepared to order everything at the bar

Kristopher W.

Yelp
I'm here in Dallas visiting one of my friends who just moved here so we decided to try out this rooftop because of the view of the skyline. We came to Upside West Village and the view of the city was great! The rooftop is located on top of the Canopy Hotel. There is a indoor portion and an outdoor portion. The bartender made us a special drink called the Gold Rush since we told her we are both from Kentucky. The drink was great! Had bourbon in it. The atmosphere is great and very chill. The view of the city is great!

Yelp
TLDR: ENDED UP WITH FOOD POISONING! We went yesterday afternoon and ended up with food poisoning three hours later...that was NOT fun and caused us to have to cancel all evening plans. My husband ended up having to be wheeled out in wheel chair from the event we were attending. Overall it's a place with nice views but terrible service terrible food. I would not recommend this to anyone. Location, Decor, Ambiance: The location is nicely decorated. It's at the top of the Canopy Hilton hotel. They have outdoor seats and tables on the rooftop as well as bar and table seating indoors. Food & Drink: We ordered the meat and cheese board which has a lot of cheese and not a lot of meat. However, my issues are with the deviled eggs and the crab rolls which came to our table warm. Given how slow the service was, I feel like the food was prepped and it was left sitting around for a long time. We think these two dishes may be what caused the food poisoning so I would STAY AWAY from them. The drinks were fine but they didn't have the ingredients for one of them and had to make a switch. Service: The service was really slow from the start. We we first arrived there was a couple at the bar but then we were the only other people. It took 15 minutes just to get three glasses of water. Price: Prices were average. Would Return? Absolutely not.

Jackie H.

Yelp
Always love coming here. The drinks are fun, the food is good, and the staff is friendly. Manager Shakina is amazing. We sat by the fireplace and had a great time. Definitely the best rooftop view in Dallas.

Vishw G.

Yelp
Food: not a lot of options, but it's pretty decent. Drinks are really good though. Service: they are slow, but nothing to complain about. Ambiance: this is why you should definitely go! The views of Dallas Skyline are just gorgeous!

Terri K.

Yelp
Stayed at this hotel so was able to stop by during the day & at night. Obviously it's all about the view which is amazing. Drinks are a bit overpriced & no happy hour specials. A glass of rose' was $14. The server checked on us a few times. Also has indoor space & a partial cover on the outdoor patio which came in handy last night as it was raining.

Christian O.

Yelp
Loved the view from the deck. Nice seating area inside as well. Went on a weekday and had to wait for an open spot outside. Other than that, nothing really to complain about. Already looking forward to coming back!

David A.

Yelp
Great drinks at an easy to access location in West Village. Good pizza, sliders and other bites. Great view of downtown.

Rashard H.

Yelp
Fantastic rooftop view of all of downtown Dallas. The drinks were great and the entire staff were very helpful and accommodating in every way.

Hailey N.

Yelp
Great views of downtown and good food. Lots of speciality cocktails. Service was a little slow but it was a busy Friday evening so I'll chalk it up to that!

Alesia A.

Yelp
I came here for an event with Dallasites101. The bar was a little hard to find at first. It was through a passage way on the side of the hotel. I had to ride the elevator up to the bar. It was really nice rooftop bar. When I got there I got a Pinot Noir at the bar. They had a special going on so I believe it was only $5 which wasn't bad at all. I really love how cool all the interior decorations were. It was like a hip and cool vibe. I really loved it. And the views were amazing. Definitely a must see if you like rooftop bars.

Fernando S.

Yelp
Nice rooftop views and tasty BBQ flatbread, but overall it was not the best experience. Do not get the deviled eggs - the egg white is flavorless and honestly tasted like those commercial deviled eggs sold at grocery stores, and the filling was runny and simple. Service was slow and inattentive. The servers and barbacks were rushing and getting things done, but the bartenders (who still seemed nice) were mostly MIA and, when serving, ignoring customers who had already been waiting. We decided to close out instead of ordering a second drink after our meal. I could give it another shot but for now I'm happy I checked it off my list.

Ajoura R.

Yelp
This is inside a new(er) hotel in West village, called canopy hotel! Upstairs you get this amazing view of the city, no obstruction. It's very chilled, great view, a perfect place to relax outside with a cocktail!

Emitom H.

Yelp
I was excited for a new bar to open near my apartment! Generally, Upside has met expectations, but is a bit pricey. I've been 3 times now, once on my own and twice for events. - Atmosphere: I think Upside arguably has the best rooftop bar view in Dallas. If the weather is bad there is plenty of space inside to still enjoy the view. Outside there is a small fire area to keep you warm in the winter. - Service: I've found the service at Upside to be efficient. If you're sitting at a table you can get table service. If not, you can order at the bar. - Food / Drinks: I split the cheese, pecans, honey, and fig with a friend. It was a nice snack and they were nice enough to bring out extra bread when we finished ours. They have a nice selection of beers on tap, but at $8 they are a little pricey. I have yet to try their cocktails, but they have some fun craft cocktails I' want to try. - Value: The only thing I don't love about Upside is the value. With draft beers at $8, wine glasses above $10, and cocktails around $15 it's not the place to go for a cheap round of drinks. I think the view makes it worth the price, but it won't be my consistent neighborhood spot because of it.

Joe T.

Yelp
Not only is the view one of the best you'll find, but the drink menu is great and so is the staff. Had the spicy watermelon margarita.

Say I.

Yelp
Came here for lunch with a friend. The view is great and I'm sure even better at night. We had a few drinks which were pretty light. We ordered some food items from the menu and everything was tasty. Service was subpar. I had to get up to get the attention of the waitress to order food, and she proceeds to tell me that the kitchen may not be open. We didn't get any warning about this or what time the kitchen would open. Service dragged and we were the only ones there.

Yelp
If you wish to enjoy a nice night with friends, alone or with that special someone then Upside West Village is your place. A rooftop restaurant located in the Hilton Canopy Hotel, this little gem is great for cocktails, small shared plates of food and a beautiful scenic view of Downtown Dallas. Our server, Oscar, was very professional and detailed about the menu and drinks. He made sure to assist us in truly enjoying what Upsidd West Village had to offer. The Manager, Shakina, made sure to reserve a wonderful outside seating spot to truly capture the scene of Dallas. I recommend reservations if possible as this is a very popular place among Dallas. I suggest getting the Tina Tatare , meatballs and Flatbread pizza. For the ladies you must try the chocolate tasting of truffles. I will definitely come back here. Please note that due to popularity the service is slower than normal. I suggest coming at night if possible to enjoy the view while you wait. ENJOY!

Michael V.

Yelp
You go to Upside West Village for the incredible rooftop views, but you stay for the creative and chic cuisine and the friendly service. Parking can be a bit if a challenge in this busy part of Uptown, but overall the experience was very positive.

Max B.

Yelp
This place has so much potential. The drinks are incredible, the views are fantastic, the bite size shareable foods could be bigger but they're really good not withstanding. The service is... very meh.

Carina G.

Yelp
Service was great! The drinks that Michael made were bomb AF, man knows his tequilas. Ciara was amazing and recommended some great food!

Brad M.

Yelp
Slowest, worst customer service. Waited at host stand for 10 minutes that had a sign that said please wait to be seated. After 10 minutes I waved down someone and they said oh just sit anywhere. Then once we sat it took another 10 minutes before someone approached the table to take our order. We ordered 2 beers and a glass of wine and it took 15 more minutes for 3 simple drinks. It's a cute space but the environment does not make up for the horrible customer service. Also everyone we interacted with acted like we were an inconvenience and that they had no interest in even serving us.

Abby B.

Yelp
Once you actually find this bar, it's a great hidden spot with a beautiful view of downtown. All the way on the top floor of the hotel. We sat in the outdoor section. There was a heater so it's still a good spot in the winter. I recommend going while the sun is setting. The server was very nice. Lots of drink options.

Ed D.

Yelp
Management = terrible Not a real bartender... This place needs help, all of it. Great, views but I can't imagine the service can get any worse.

Mark F.

Yelp
Great bar with great views! Michael M and Oscar got us a table outside with no reservation. Great customer service!

Rob S.

Yelp
I've been here a number of times, and every time has been ok with lackluster service, but I came back for the view. I brought about five of my friends there one night I believe back in January to show them a great view of Dallas and to have some drinks. It took forever to get someone to come take our order. When we finally did have someone come over, she had a slight attitude. When she went to take my friend's drink order, my friend offered out her driver's license as identification since my friend is either 21 or 22 years old, and the waitress responded by saying "oh I don't need to see that". My friend thought nothing of it and put her ID away. A long long time later, a few of us get our drinks, but two people didn't. One guy in our group didn't get his drink, I believe we asked about it, but he still never got it and he just gave up on ordering since things were taking so long anyway. My other friend who had earlier presented her ID didn't have her drink come out with the rest of the drinks. We asked about it and the waitress goes to get it, although AGAIN takes forever to do so. She finally comes out with an attitude, and stops at the table. She very rudely says to my friend something to the effect of "you're going to need to show me some ID before I give you this drink". As if she's accusing my friend of not providing identification. My friend had previously pulled out her ID when ordering to give it to her w/o even being asked! Now the waitress comes over, after telling her she didn't need to see ID, having an attitude, forgetting her drink, and rudely asks her to see her ID or she will refuse to serve her? I completely understand needing to follow TABC rules, and understand needing to check for ID. That's why my friend offered up her ID to begin with. The waitress shouldn't have ever said "I don't need to see that" to her to begin with, and then if she was told by her superiors that she still needed to see ID, she could have said something nicely like "I apologize, but I was wrong earlier, I actually do need to see your ID". Instead she comes over extremely rude and with an attitude. We continued to have horrible service the entire time and tried for somewhere between 30 minutes and an hour to get a check. We kept asking our waitress for checks (the very few times we could even get her to come over), but she never brought them. I finally went inside and asked another waitress about it and she was better, but still had an attitude. Took FOREVER still to get our checks. Better yet, when we finally did get our checks, a few of us were charged incorrectly and orders mixed up, and if I remember correctly, one of our credit cards was not returned when we received the receipt to sign. So again, we had to go back up and have them look for our card, after being treated horribly the whole night and having this disaster take much longer than it should have. It's a shame the waitresses hired here have such attitudes and could care less about the customers. A business lives or dies on how it treats its customers. This could easily be one of the top spots in Dallas due to the location, bar/patio size, and view, but instead is easily one of the worst spots, due to how badly they treat their guests. Side note: This happened at night where there would be a few more people than normal, but I've been here a bunch of times during the day and night, and at times where I've been literally the only table there, and the service has still been incredibly slow and the service not too friendly. This time just happened to be easily the slowest and by far the rudest.

Bern M.

Yelp
Loved this bar and our bartender. Beautiful views and great cocktails. I had him make me and my girlfriend a Moscow mule, which did not disappoint delicious and fresh ingredients with a little kick to it. Loved that this bar was directly inside my hotel too. Very cute and modern, it was definitely poppin for a Monday night!

Alex W.

Yelp
Gorgeous bar that was open until 8 pm on a Sunday night. Located sat the top floor of a hotel for those that may have difficulty finding it. View was unbeatable, atmosphere was chill, and staff were friendly. I would highly recommend going here for a view drinks.

Clarke M.

Yelp
Perfect hotel bar for locals. Make a reservation on a weekend. Food could be better (and seasoned.) Staff was kind, but a tad distracted and clearly understaffed (management owes them more!) Chill spot. Great view.

Andrew M.

Yelp
I worked with Michael McAdams, the manager, to plan my engagement on the rooftop. This is an amazing venue with the best view of downtown Dallas. Michael and the whole staff were amazing and very accommodating. We will definitely be back to relive the moment.

Claire E.

Yelp
Although it is a pretty hotel and a gorgeous bar I cannot recommend it based on the experience I had with the staff today. The server at the rooftop bar refused to serve me and mocked me because I had my service animal with me. Full blown discrimination and not a good look for a large chain to not know the rules and regulations of a service animal. I will never return.

Stephen D.

Yelp
Spending the holidays alone is not always the best feeling in the world especially when you'd like to spend it with family. However, I stop by Upside Village to have a drink or two and that change my entire thanksgiving holiday woes! The view breath taking, the food was great, the drinks were muah, and the vibes and service from the staff superb! The manger Michael and Ciara and the rest of those on shift Friday night were helpful and attentive in making sure that my time away from my family would still be one for the books! I'll definitely be back again and let my traveling buddies know that this is a must stop to experience in Dallas.

Renisha S.

Yelp
Let's start with the breathtaking rooftop view. I spent more time taking pictures and enjoying the scenery than anything with an ice cold mimosa or glass of Rosè in hand. This was my first time coming here and it was for their Saturday Easter Brunch. I love that it was reservation only so it allowed for an intimate setting amongst guest. Brunch was buffet style and came with a glass of mimosa per guest. The mimosas were so good, it had quality champagne and orange juice so we ended up ordering a carafe. Service was spot on. Our waitress was very attentive and checked on our every need and every question we had she was able to get answered in a timely manner. She even took several pictures of us which was very appreciated. After brunch we sat inside and had a couple more glasses of wine per recommendation of the bartender. Brandon was amazing. He had excellent recommendations for us and he even hung out with us and talked, he was great conversation. I will definitely be coming back for drinks. Only reason I did it give 5 stars is due to the actually brunch items. For $35 pp I felt like there could have been more options. It was garden salad, a whole roasted pig, seasonal fruit, dessert table with slices of cakes, bread/bagel table, scramble eggs, corn beef hash and brussel sprouts. A La Cart option was a lemon, almond French toast and a spinach, potato quiche. For such a high end area and place I expected a little more, like waffle station, omelettes made to order, prime rib, etc. but again overall great experience and I will definitely be back.

Amanda T.

Yelp
Horrible service. There's a difference between slow and people doing their best, and just plain horrible service. Everything we ordered was incorrect, after asking or clarifying two or three times that we actually ordered it because it took so long. I can't express the frustration after leaving. I wanted a relaxing a romantic evening and I left confused, stressed after having to hunt our server down, and hungry. 0/5 stars if I could.
