12 Top-Notch Rooftop Bars in Phoenix | Eater Phoenix

"With its crystal chandeliers and tufted banquettes, this roofed rooftop bar and restaurant overlooking Biltmore Fashion Park, Piestewa Peak, and Camelback Mountain requires a better wardrobe than jeans and sneakers, but the extra sartorial effort is worth it. As the sultry little sister to ground-level Flint by Baltaire, UaF offers similarly great cocktails and the same Mediterranean-accented menu, which features short rib hummus (don’t miss it), wood-grllled octopus, Moroccan fried chicken, and wood-fired truffle pizza." - Nikki Buchanan

Invited my sister to join me for a nice night out at this event. We enjoyed the classic hummus that was offered for Yelpers. For cocktails I lean towards gin so I chose the Shades of Cool no.2 with pepper infused gin and aloe vera... very refreshing. We thought about sharing multiple apps because so many sounded good, but ultimately we couldn't pass up the truffle pizza. The flavors were so decadent and delicious. I wasn't going to be the person who asks for ranch with my gourmet pizza, but when our waitress offered it I figured there must be a reason. It was gourmet ranch, very dill forward, and it was amazing with the pizza crust. By this time we were stuffed, but when you're reviewing a restaurant you need to dapple the whole menu, right?! Furthermore, you need to try more than one dessert... so we shared. The butterscotch cream with sea salt was creamy and rich and a perfect choice to end on. But... we also tried the warm cinnamon sugar donuts dipped in coffee mousse. We couldn't finish it but it was so yummy as well. The wait staff were kind and efficient. The DJ kept the vibes fun. It was a nice sister date with beautiful weather and views.

We held a 50th birthday party here and had the best time! The entire staff was amazing to work with, from the event planning to the party itself. The atmosphere is fabulous, views outstanding, food was delicious, and drinks were so tasty and unique. We made some great memories for a milestone and want to thank everyone for taking care of our large group. Special shout out to Alina our event coordinator who anticipated all of our needs, Brittany our event planner, and our bartender and servers on the night of the party. You guys rocked it!

We visited for the first time last weekend. Great view of the mountains from top and great sunset views. We had a very friendly, attentive server and great service. There was live music w a local singer, which was an added bonus - very good artist and great music selections. I would recommend if you are in the area. Parking is a bit tricky, but there is valet available after 4 pm

Google
Really cool vibe to hang out with friends at. I like the private ambiance and the decor. I did find that a lot of the food is pricey. The views are amazing. Service is ok, staff is friendly but overall slow. Tricky to find since it's around the corner and upstairs, but the hosts and valet directed us.

Google
Food and cocktails were really good. Would love to come back and check out the full menu at Flint. The view was just OK from upstairs and the service left a little something to be desired (two waitresses for the while upstairs area). Also, the online menu needs an update.

Google
Amazing service. Bartenders and staff go above and beyond their duties. Cocktails are creative and food to match. Rooftop views with decor. Home run on all fronts.

Google
Pretty small rooftop but a nice atmosphere. We went on a Saturday after sundown and we had to wait for a table to be available. There's no standing room available. You also either have to valet or park across the street and walk under a tunnel or wait at the light to get there. Cocktails are small and expensive (about $20 each)

Can’t beat the ambiance, great service, and the steak for two is perfect for date night

Yelp
We visited the upstairs at Flint for the first time, and enjoyed a wonderful evening. There was live music on the patio, by a single guitarist, who did a great job of singing a variety of kinds of music. Our waitress was cheerful and attentive. The view, and the ambience up there were really nice. I would highly recommend it for a cocktail hour!

Yelp
We stopped for a night cap and ended up having few tasty appetizers. Beautiful setting. We sat at the bar. The bartenders were friendly and quite attentive. The food came fast. Very good selection of cocktails and wine. Overall very pleasant atmosphere. The music was not too loud and we could still carry a conversation among us. The parking is underground and make sure you validate your ticket at the bar.

Yelp
I love coming here with friends. It's such a vibe being outside but still getting the feeling of being inside. The decor fits perfectly and it's just big enough to give your the "going out" feeling, but small enough to feel intimate. The light bites we had were tasty. I usually come here for a drink or two, so not much to say about the food. I have never experienced any problems with service. Everyone is always friendly and helpful. If you're trying to decide if you should go, the answer is yes.

Yelp
What a gem this place! The ambience is perfect for intimate setting or gathering with small group of friends. We came around sunset on a weekend and expected it to be busy which it was, but were lucky to get bar seating for two right away. It is first come first serve so when weather is nice, expect a wait! The drinks were fun and fresh. We ordered Di Stefano burrata which was phenomenal. Had we not had dinner reservations right after, I would've easily ordered another one to snack on. Looking forward to coming back!

Yelp
A cool place! Was visiting the area and stopped by for cocktails with a group of friends. The inside had low lighting and played some cool music. The vibes were perfect for getting drinks with friends or going on a date. My drink was super tasty. Whenever I'm in the area again I will check out their food menu because the plates that passed by looked amazing. The service was great and accommodating for our group.

Yelp
This place is beautiful ! We wanted to get there in time to catch the sunset and the view was amazing! The drinks and the appetizers were delicious. The service was great, we were even offered if we wanted a drink made specifically for our liking in case we wanted something that wasn't on the menu. Overall, I loved it, Highly recommend !

Yelp
Wonderful ambiance and service. Great appetizer and drinks menu. The best part is the upstairs open layout

Yelp
Upstairs at FLINT is a gem! The fact that valet is complimentary is such a plus and convenience. The view from the outdoor seating upstairs is breathtaking, creating a nice atmosphere. The staff are incredibly attentive. What impressed us most was the speed at which our food and drinks were served. The efficiency did not compromise quality. The short rib hummus, octopus, cauliflower, and lamb cavatelli were delicious. We left nothing behind, which is testament to how much we enjoyed every single bite. The ambiance here is an absolute vibe. We'll be returning for sure!

Yelp
It was actually downstairs, they don't allow reservations for upstairs and it was closed for an event. The bone marrow came on a bbq and the fuel smell was quite strong from the other tables, it was hard to enjoy our dishes.

Maya ..

Yelp
Me and a friend visited the rooftop bar on a Saturday evening. We were able to find seats right away. Service was a bit slow because waiters were busy running food, bartending and taking orders. Other than that everything was great. Food and drinks were delicious and came out quickly after we ordered. Definitely give this place a try.

Yelp
Great spot! My husband and I shared the bone-in ribeye, it was cooked to perfection and delicious. We also had the oyster, excellent and the short rib hummus, both were amazing! The service was phenomenal and we loved the atmosphere. Would definitely go back and recommend if you're in the area.

Yelp
A tad bit overrated, but pretty venue. Nice decor and I was feeling the music. It could have been that night. Would have been sedeño if it turned into a spot to dance a bit. Server was nice and friendly. Wasn't feeling the cake dessert at all. It was very hard for some reason. Enjoyed the margarita pizza. Drinks were pretty good. Seemed a nice place for a ladies' get together. Parking was a bit frustrating but I'm not from there so maybe I just didn't know where to park.

Yelp
Great place to grab drinks or have nice dinner. Loved their uniqueness of serving grilled food. You have to try it out. Service is great and friendly atmosphere. Rooftop is plus.

Yelp
This is the swanky but pricey location atop the Flint restaurant in Esplanade. We got there early, just after opening on a Saturday, and it was good to come then because the place gets packed fast with everyone coming to see and be seen. I was quite underdressed in jeans and a flannel, but whatever. There is not officially a dress code. My biggest gripe was the service. It was spotty, and we waited longer than others (Coincidentally better dressed others, but who knows). Also, the servers didn't seem well trained. They first didn't bring us a wine list. Then they brought us one from an event that had no prices. When my friend asked about some different wines, the server had no idea, not even the price. I don't expect someone to be a sommelier, but when you're charging per glass what the entire bottle is at Total Wine, it seems basic knowledge is useful. (This is not being rude. My friend's glass of chardonnay was $3 less than the entire bottle at the store.) I did not try food, just an overpriced glass of wine, but my friends said their light dishes were ok but not really worth it. The presentation of the dishes were lovely though. They made flowers from radishes and so forth. All in all, this would be a good place to grab a cocktail on a date, recognizing it for what it is. It has a gorgeous view of Camelback Mountain, and the decor is chic. But it's not somewhere I could envision regulars. Unless you are a high roller. Then more power to you.

Yelp
First, music is on point. If you want to sip a hand - crafted cocktail, on the roof of an open bar listening to Wu-Tang Clan, OutKast and the Mr. Smith Studio Album while eating delicious food watching the sunset, meet me here! If that's not your thing stop here and proceed to Applebee's. Complaint- they are not open Sundays. I hope as the word gets out they will be able to expand to a brunch even if it's a smaller menu.... Maybe a mimosa brunch...

Bridgette B.

Yelp
It is a great location. Our bartender Jayden was super friendly and prompt with service. The bar with the cushion (I guess for your arms to rest on?) is too high for 1) the patrons---the chair is not tall enough, makes this very uncomfortable and 2) those working there who have to try to reach over to serve or clean. The chandeliers seem out of place. Our drinks were good and we'd probably come back for the service and the fun views.
google avatar

Yelp
On a clear sky reasonably warm spring night this is the PERFECT place to catch a vibe under the stars. The staff was excellent and the food was delish. If I lived in AZ I'd consider renting the space for just about any type of event.

Yelp
Super swanky place for drinks. I am specifically talking about the upstairs bar portion. It's decorated well, chandeliers, nice outdoor furniture, beautiful views of camelback mountain. The sunset view is killer! The drinks were great, service was fantastic! I had the most attentive set of waitresses checking in on me. I was never left wanting. Tried the oysters and margarita pizza, both were solid and fresh. The food is quality, and I'll be back to colore more menu items. Definitely a great place to meet friends for drinks or take a first date. Lots of beautiful people here, nice people watching.

Yelp
This rooftop restaurant is the cutest!! Such a great view of the mountains and it has some cover so you're not hit with too much sun. The waitstaff was friendly and did a wonderful job of explaining the menu items to us. We ordered the artichoke hummus, which was so yummy. The artichokes are fried and taste amazing, I hadn't had anything like it. Also, the pita was fluffy and divine; you definitely need to order this dish when you go. We also ordered the honey-harissa chicken kabobs with a side of fries. The flavors were wonderful, though the chicken itself was a bit fatty, which I don't typically like. The cocktail menu is creative and has something for everyone. Will definitely be back soon :)

Yelp
Absolute fan I'll be back. The hostess was so accommodating as I stopped here right before a red eye flight with my luggage. Drinks were sharing and I picked a few small plates for myself. Enjoyed eating around the menu here- certainly a spot to keep on the list!
google avatar

Reagan B.

Yelp
Came here at night to sit on the rooftop and have apps and drinks. Drinks and the atmosphere were amazing, the pizza I ordered was mediocre though. We ordered the margarita pizza- loved the wood-fire crust, however, it came out very wet and soggy in the middle which made it difficult to eat. Other than that, the bartender- Summer, was amazing and super friendly. I ordered an espresso martini and it was one of the best I've had-highly recommend! Summer is who made our overall experience positive and I can see myself going back! Hopefully the pizza is a bit better next time.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this place from Yelp and I'm so happy I took my girlfriend here for our first time! We were visiting Arizona from San Jose so we had to visit some cute bars. The food and drinks were delicious, I have no complaints. Roasted bone marrow and oysters were spectacular. Thank you to Summer and Frankie for an enjoyable experience, will definitely recommend to friends and be back if I was in town! It's a cute rooftop bar that you should bookmark.
google avatar

Ambria C.

Yelp
Went on a date here, we struggled to find it at first and after a little walk and some stairs it was worth it. Chill vibes, bartenders were very friendly and the view was amazing. The drinks were good too! We didn't try the food because the kitchen was closed but definitely going back!
google avatar

Genise D.

Yelp
I came here for quick bite to eat with my girlfriend, and it was so cute and the service was excellent and the Lamb was perfectly prepared. I will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
During the Colonial era, lobster was so copious they were served to prisoners and slaves (true history!). Now it's an expensive delicacy around the world. Is it me, or does it feel the same thing has happened with bone marrow? What are (and still are) bones you essentially feed your dogs as treats from the butcher is now a $20+ 'small plate' relished by idiots like me. The history of food fascinates me. First come first served so I recommend arriving early or you may be waiting. This is a great rooftop bar with comfortable seating, heaters in the winter, ample shade in the afternoon by a tall office building, and amazing food from the Flint kitchen below. My only criticism is the specialty cocktails seem an ounce or two shy for the price. Though it's a very nice outdoor bar, the office building to the west completely blocks the view of a sunset. The only view you have is to the north beyond Fashion Square Mall, but WOW, what a view! Though on the small side, the cocktails were tasty and the bone marrow was amazing, served over hot coals with toasty, rustic bread and a nice relish.

Yelp
AMAZING Food, Service and ambiance! Took my parents visiting from NJ for sunset cocktails and dinner on the rooftop patio restaurant. Cocktails and Dishes as delicious as their tasteful presentation. Will be back here soon!

Yelp
It's excellent. Great views and a fun atmosphere. The cocktails were fantastic and the service was wonderful. I would highly recommend

Yelp
Their Yelp and voicemail message says they're open and don't take reservations. My party of 12 arrived at 6:30 on the dot to go into the rooftop lounge only to be told they're closed. When we told them the Yelp said otherwise the host told us that we should have checked Instagram because they updated the information there. What? Why would I check Instagram to see your store hours? Incredibly inconvenient of them not to update their Yelp page where people go to check hour and reservation information.

Yelp
Upstairs at FLINT patio is awesome!! Very nice atmosphere with high top tables couches amazing views . Food was also amazing. We had the pizza, scallops , tuna tartare, artichoke and olives. Champagne with pinnacle was delicious. Definitely would be back

Yelp
https://youtu.be/PITs6IC3Ub8 ^^ copy paste ^^ Here's video of the night life scene. This is a VIP upscale rooftop Valley Important Place. Great vibe, food and drink

Yelp
Rude staff. Came super early on a Friday night and they denied me entry stating that "only hotel guests are allowed" I was just looking for a place to celebrate my birthday! Better off just bar hopping down town if you're not staying here or don't have a reservation.

Yelp
So we were super excited in trying this place; reviews were great; pictures looks amazing and was recommended; so off we go. Called before driving there; information given over phone did not match actions taken at the door when we arrived! Totally wrong; no sitting; oh never mind we do have sitting; oh wait you can't go upstairs until 5 or 6? Oh you can sit at the bar and wait for a table; oh no wait; I think we have a table; let me check. Despite all the confusion we patiently waited and got a table! Ordered appetizers and drinks of course; you know how we roll. Main entrees were not to die for! Ordered two exact plate and had two different taste and texture; NOT GOOD! Even with that bad tasting experience we still decided to go upstairs and give it a try. NIce view and very good drinks; better service and the food was good. (Only giving 3 stars because of the miscommunication we encountered downstairs)

Yelp
I love this bar. It's chic and has nice views. Great drinks and their hummus is to die for.
google avatar

Yelp
I live within walking distance of this bar and absolutely love it. It is the perfect spot to take a couple of friends or even a date. It has the perfect theme, and you can order food from the restaurant below from the same menu. When I went, the kitchen was open until 9 pm. And the bar itself is open until 11 during the weekdays. I got the short rib hummus and the chopped salad and the spicy drink on the menu--"you can't judge a book by its cover". Highly recommend. And it is an open air concept!
google avatar

Grace V.

Yelp
Great cocktails with amazing views of the mountains. Definitely recommend coming here to watch the sunset / during happy hour!
google avatar

Wendy H.

Yelp
I'm almost reluctant to review this perfect spot in fear that it might get too popular and I won't be able to get it. it's the same knockout menu as Flint but with killer Camelback views and the outdoors to make you feel safe in our current Covid situation. The drinks are delicious as well as the food.

Sejla A.

Yelp
We really had a great experience. Went on a Friday evening and were able to find seating right away. Very attentive and sweet staff. Food was also great, the boys really enjoyed their burgers. Margarita pizza and humus were also great. The music was also nice, but not too loud, overall we really enjoyed the ambiance of this outdoor bar/restaurant. Check them out :)
google avatar

Andrew B.

Yelp
I had dinner and drinks upstairs last night and it was amazing! I asked the bartender Emily for a drink recommendation and she did not disappoint with the actions speak louder than words! She also recommended the short rib hummus and it was phenomenal. It was pretty busy later in the evening and it seemed like she was by herself but service was still on point! We will definitely be back!

Ty J.

Yelp
The Bartender Karen upstairs at Flint, doesn't sue the local city council or refuse to wear a face mask, nor does she complain about her fav park spot to be replaced for wheelchair access. She smiles and graciously pours positive energy throughout the up top experience:) If you run into Karen while chilling up too call her by her nickname: Santa Feeee

Yelp
I was visiting Arizona for wedding - while we were heading out for some pre-wedding fun from our hotel, we spotted Upstairs At Flint.Talk about a aesthetically pleasing place (rooftop) to grab a drink! The views are phenomenal, the drinks were sexy & fun and the vibe was right on. Our cocktail waitress was adorable and made the experience even better. I am pretty sure they had JUST opened but we couldn't tell. Our waitress, Katherine knew exactly what to recommend (actions speak louder drink THUMBS UP), but also gave us fun other reco's for the area. I am headed back down in a few weeks and I cannot wait to come back and bring my all my girlfriends. It just screams good, sexy vibes! Also if you can request servers, we will request Katherine!!

Elena C.

Yelp
The bartender upstairs was incredibly rude. Too bad for her because we spend a good amount of money where we go out. We walked up to the bar and there was one seat on the corner and we were two people. Meanwhile, there was a seat in the middle that was not being used, so to be polite, we asked if we could move the seat that was empty. She in turn says "someone's using it", but it clearly wasn't. In about 45 seconds two people walk up to the seat that walked up from downstairs! The reason we asked is to be polite- if she didn't want us taking that seat, simply saying "I'm really sorry but we don't allow the seats to be moved" would have been fine. But lying to us? She was so rude and it ruined it for us so we left, and didn't go downstairs to eat because she was such a bi***. Not cool, don't know if we'll try that place again, super bad vibes. Given the current situation with COVID, I'm sure there are plenty more happy, polite and customer service oriented bartenders that would be happy to have her job!

Raquel A.

Yelp
Just to be clear this review is for the upstairs bar at Flint. I could not believe this "bar" is associated with the restaurant downstairs. They are night and day when it comes to service and quality of drinks. The drinks at the upstairs bar are terrible, awful. So disappointing because the place itself is aesthetically pretty cool. My husband ordered a gin drink and i ordered and old fashioned. Now, anyone that knows anything about cocktails knows how to make and old fashioned, it's pretty simple. But I don't know an old fashioned could taste this bad. It tasted like sugar water, that's it. I got the "speciality" one off the cocktail menu and it was pure sugar. I hate sending back drinks so I hesitated on saying anything but I just could not drink it! I finally said something and the bartender asked if I just wanted a "regular" old fashioned. She made me a new one and and same thing, sugar water. You can't taste anything, not the bourbon, not anything. It really just tasted like a glass of sugar water with a bunch of ice. Even the color, it was like a light yellow color. I think part of the problem is that they use simple syrup?? instead of an actual sugar cube? I could not drink it, I just left it there when we left. My husband's drink was also extremely sweet. To top it off, the service (or lack there of) was awful too, there was no service. We were greeted, asked for our drink order, given our drinks and that's it. There were three bartenders and nobody said a single word to us the whole time we were there, not even to ask how our drinks were or anything. And it was not busy at all. One bartender was practically texting the whole time. Very sad because there aren't many rooftop bars around the area so it would have been a cool new place to hang. The concept is really cool but to be a hit they really need to change their bartenders, or teach them about service and how to make a good drink, please. Pretty basic things a bar should have. If you want a good drink and actual service go downstairs to the restaurant.
