November 2020 review - never posted this for some reason.
GREAT food, but holy crap, slow ass service (and pricey)!! Believe the reviews about the service, omg. It was pretty empty on a Wednesday at 7pm too during covid! (FYI, this is the upstairs bar / patio of Hungry's).
BAKED GOAT CHEESE $15 (4/5) (Topped with crumbled candied walnuts and dried apricots, toasted baguette)- This was so good! Even if you don't know if you like goat cheese, just get it. You can also ask for more free baguette bc you get plenty of cheese and not enough bread.
ANAHEIM CHILE GRILLED CHICKEN $18 (4.5/5) (All-natural chicken, roasted Anaheim chile cream sauce, basmati rice w/ peas, seasonal vegetables, warm pita)- really good, surprisingly. The chicken breast was very big and thick, seasoned well, and tender! The sauce was very good too! Roasted veggies were tasty (cauliflower, brussels sprouts, red bell pepper, broccoli). Only downside was that my food wasn't even warm. Pricey but large portion. After eating our appetizer and waiting like 30+ minutes, I was kind of full so I took half to go.
HUNGRY'S KABOB PLATE $21 (2 skewers of beef tenderloin, grilled all-natural chicken or combo of both, basmati rice, seasonal vegetables, Persian cucumber dill salad, warm pita)- date ordered beef (BIG pieces!), he enjoyed it and took half to go.
-----------------------------
Waiter had recommended the gyro plate (lamb/beef), kabob plate, meatloaf (date said it's ok), and Anaheim chicken. I'd return (don't come too hungry tho) but only if I weren't paying, lol.
After ordering our appetizer, our waiter disappeared forever! We got our appetizer from the food runner, almost finished it, and were literally looking around for our waiter, OR ANY WAITER, for 20+ minutes JUST TO ORDER OUR ENTREES!!
They have their own small parking lot (a plus for Rice Village!), and I had no problem on a Wednesday at 7pm during covid. Apparently there's free valet though that takes up most of the lot.
