"Beaverton’s first brewery has become Binary Brewing, with a new staff including Lompoc alum Conor Quinn. The new head brewer is Roger Wood, a home brewer who spent 30 years in software security. Uptown Market managing partner Josh Johnson stated, 'We are now focused on creating quality malt-focused beer with a nod to our past.'" - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

Google
Great beer tavern. Big, open seating. Good sized bar. Many taps and many more great cans and bottles. Cool, pleasant vibe. Not loud during our visit. One beer tender so lines formed but moved quickly. Put this one on your beer stop list..

Sharyn Inzunza

Google
Our pub, watering hole, neighborhood spot. Love a mid-week, after-work hang-out at Uptown. Or Friday night. Mug Club members. Owners of many Uptown T-shirts. Great patio when it's warm. Cozy inside during the cold months. Wonderful people behind the bar who recognize you. Smash Burger food truck: crinkle-cut (crack) fries. Would love to see some veggie menu options: roasted Brussel sprouts, cauliflower, sweet potatoes? With Smashy sauce—nice! Nothing too crazy.

Mike Johnson

Google
Relaxing bottle shop and tap house. Very good selection and their own Binary brand, all of which are quite good. Food truck with simple yet perfect smash burgers and fries. Minors welcome until 8pm. Parking can get tight at rush hours but definitely still worth a visit.

Eric Wiley

Google
We’ve made Uptown a regular stop. Friendly environment, dogs are welcome and there’s a great selection on tap and in the coolers. Plenty to choose from, and having Midcity Smashburger on property doesn’t hurt. Fun stop.

Bill Lewis

Google
What can you say. Phenomenal bottle shop. Great taps. Great service. And awesome smash burgers.

Noel Blake

Google
As one of the very few taprooms between Multnomah Village and downtown Beaverton, Uptown Market is an oasis in a sizable beer desert. Excellent taps, enough seating both inside and out, and a bottle shop nicely organized by taste profile. Good selection of ciders, too. Food-wise, a smashburger truck will have to do (not bad, but rather limited).

Trypp Adams

Google
Great selection of cans and bottles along with 20+ taps and brewing their own beer as well. They have a display of staff suggestions, which was the most help I got. I asked for suggestions and just got a blank stare and he mumbled "there's just too many" nice place, enjoyed a couple taps and grabbed a six pack to go.

Jessica

Google
This is a nice taproom and bottle shop. They have roughly 30 beers on tap and a huge bottle selection to go. Binary Brewing used to share this space but now they have their own place on Broadway in downtown Beaverton. Enjoying 2 Smashy Bois from Mid City Smashburger and a Keegan’s Dry Irish Stout by Three Mugs out of Hillsboro. So glad that Mid City Smashburger has a cart next to Uptown Beer Co. now. I also had CULMINATION Hay Fever Fresh Hop Wheat Beer & BINARY Motherboard Milk Stout.

Yelp
The guy working there acted as if he could care less. I was there, even though there's only three people in the establishment. I asked him if I could try out the pills or almost scoffed at me . If it wasn't for the burger place right outside, I would never go to this place . to me it's a bad owner understand how to train his employees

Yelp
Fresh Hop season here in Portland has begun and Uptown Beer Co. had a great selection of every style of beer created with fresh hops on tap. This location on Scholls Ferry Rd has a casual roomy interior with walls lined with coolers filled with canned/bottled beers and ciders. Something amazing for everyone. Outside there are umbrella covered tables and tables under a tent. Dogs are welcome. Midcity Smashed burger is the food truck that is currently on rotation with smashed burgers that will not disappoint.

Chris H.

Yelp
Good beer poor service. Apathetic bartender was more concerned about being on his computer than pouring beers. Parking is horrible and he/they? don't enforce the reserved 5 minute parking spot up front for pick-up orders. Having a wide selection is useless if you can't access it. I asked the bartender about letting the car park in the space and got a wimpy "well, we're not gonna call the cops on them" reply. How about telling them to move so regular customers who want to pick up can get in and out?! WEAK.
google avatar

Melissa H.

Yelp
Service is always lovely and the selection is really great! There is always something new to try, so many styles. We love to bring our little dog and hang out on the patio. Be aware there is somewhat limited parking!
google avatar

Andrew A.

Yelp
Went for the chili contest: $90 for two. WTF? Was it for charity? It included beer. Anyway, the people were pleasant, the beer in the cooler section was vast, and the place had a good vibe. Parking kinda sucked. But damn, I haven't experienced such sticker shock in awhile.

Yelp
I swear I reviewed this place already but can't seem to find it. Bar was super chill with a great tap list. Their bottle and can selection was also quite exquisite. The bartenders were super friendly, and I loved how the bar smelled, just like a pine forest. Note they have somewhat limited parking. Would totally come back some time!

Yelp
Always find something tasty on tap. My family often rides our bikes here for a beer and play some games, order snacks from the food cart.

Andrew R.

Yelp
This place is legit. Been coming here for years. Evan is dope and Sarah is cool too. 4th best burger in the country.

Yelp
We totally stumbled upon this place after running some errands a few weekends ago. They have a huge selection of beers and ciders (and a few wines) which you can enjoy there with a corkage fee AND which (we were super excited to find out) you can order for delivery to your home! They have a good amount of drinks on tap as well, including a delicious root beer that is a kid-friendly option if you choose to stop by with the family. There was a burger food truck in front that looked delicious and somewhere we'd like to have tried if we hadn't eaten earlier that day. Recently saw they're expanding to a bigger facility in Beaverton and are super excited for them to be located even closer to us!

Yelp
Beer, beer and more beer. Great selection. Smash burgers were good. Outside seating is perfect.

Yelp
Complimenting the largest beer to-go selection I've ever seen, Uptown has an excellent "array" of on tap brews for your "input"-- including their own brews under brandname Binary. Props to, if not obvious, their 1337 level beer names (computer high nerddome).

Jeff F.

Yelp
Great beer selection but as far as "kid friendly" they are only allowed on the patio. So good luck during a heat wave or winter. They claim OLCC but they have a hand written sign below so it's definitely their stipulation. Again, great beer selection but if you have kids be prepared to sit outside. Owner responded on Google claiming "liquor laws". Based off OLCC there Is NOTHING showing minors other than ORS 471.567, ORS 471.410(3), ORS 471.620, and that's just the tip. If food is present kids can be at the establishment until a certain time, they have food carts on site. My kids are barely in school and again, patio for them only. I'm not trying to start ish because this place is a local gold gem. And I agree. I loved it. However, if you have kids the owner does not want them inside ruining the vibe and to me, a consumer. Kind of sad. But again: AMAZING beer selection. But kids are their least concern, sad could do a lot more business with AC during summer and heat during winter. Just sayin. Regulars can say what they want but 98 degrees and 70 something inside.. We sat outside.

Yelp
A couple years ago, my brother and I took a summer trip to the PNW for 10 days. We flew into Portland and then Uptown Beer was our first stop after getting off the plane. My brother loves craft beers, so this was right up his alley. I've never been much of a beer drinker, but even I found one that I liked there. It was a great spot and they had good food! I'd go here again whenever I'm in the Portland area next!

Yelp
Great vibe. Awesome drink selection. Love it!! The owner Josh is charming and personable. Dog friendly. Highly recommended

Yelp
Awesome secret beer place that isn't much of a secret. You have so many beers on tap. Can get a little overwhelming but you can always ask your beertender. They have wine and beer in the cooler that you can make a six pack and get a discount. I tried their hazy IPA and it was good. I like they have different sizes so if you're not sure, you can have a smaller beer or even do a beer flight. It's all very accommodating. They have huge bar area you can plug your laptop or charge your phone, long tables, tables outside and booths. Parking can get a little tricky, I parked on a side street a couple blocks down. They also have food you can order and it's made by the food cart next to them but brought in for you. I liked the laid back feel and thought it's a great place to kick back and have a few beers. Great casual atmosphere!

Yelp
My favorite new spot on Beaverton Hillsdale to grab a beer and hangout. Joined the mug club here because it is a great deal at $10 a month for first invite to exclusive events and new releases of beers, not to mention the extra 4oz you get in your mug as well. They have great outdoor seating options with picnic tables and are pet friendly. They do not have any food but I've a really good on site burger food truck that is killer. Great staff, great people, great beer you can't go wrong here!
google avatar

Brent W.

Yelp
Great selection of beers on tap and cans/bottles. Friendly staff and lots of tables outside for social distancing. And there is a burger shack in the parking lot if you get hungry.
google avatar

Yelp
Overdue for a review of my favorite beer bar in this part of Portland. Incredible selection of dozens of beers on tap (always changing), plus 100s of can/bottles (organized by style, which iI find super helpful), so you really can't wrong if you love beer or are simply curious. They also have draft ciders, wine and usually something hot or frozen for fun depending on the time of year. They regularly host tap takeovers a couple of Thursdays a month featuring local breweries. While I miss the Sure Shot food truck, the new chicken wing spot is killer with a selection of 20+ sauces to smother your perfectly fried wings. Covered patio is now kid friendly until 8pm. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't reviewed this awesome tap room/ brewery yet! I have had many great beers and conversations at Uptown Beer. The food cart they have is delicious and the employees are friendly. It is a 21+ only bar and I for one appreciate that. Finally, their outdoor space is perfect for Spring and Summer.
google avatar

Julia D.

Yelp
Totally unassuming brewery and beer bar in a weird location that probably used to be an actual convenience store. I like the layout with the bottles on one side and the seating on the other with the bar in the middle. I particularly liked the tables by the big windows. I did not expect a place called "Uptown Market" to have brewed their own beers BUT THEY DO! They also have a bunch of other taps in addition to their own.
google avatar

Alvaro H.

Yelp
Great place, great varying of beers and drinks. Good patio, good food nearby to bring... fantastic place.

Yelp
Sometimes you don't realize how good you have it. Uptown Market is a mix of great beer, friendly service and (now!) great food. We've got it good! Each and every time I walk into Uptown I have a "Forrest Gump" beer moment...I never know what I'm gonna get. Their expansive selection of draft and bottles can be a little intimidating, but have no fear! The staff are there to help and their passion and knowledge for beer will not lead you astray. They also brew their own beer and offer a wonderful variety. I'm a big fan of their Oatis Reddin! Their recent remodel makes an already great place even better. Scott is serving up some righteous eats and I have a feeling he's only getting started. The revamped seating area/bar is a great place to hang your hat for the night or just grab a pint and dash. Kudos to Josh and everyone on the wonderful update. If you're still not totally convinced, check Uptown Market out for yourself. Grab a pint, peruse the bottles, and have a beery great time (pun intended)!

Ryann C.

Yelp
Decent beer selection and okay food offerings. The food (fried/pub food and BBQ) is sourced from a food truck parked next to the bar. Counter service only.

Carley O.

Yelp
Awesome selection! Super nice staff and the food truck outside was so yummy!! We went during a two takeover for march madness and it was awesome meeting the brewery reps!
google avatar

Jeanne Z.

Yelp
This place has a really good selection of local beers as well as national and world-wide stuff! THey even brew their own on tap. I love that this establishment is dog friendly and that you can have your dog actually inside with you while you are partaking in beer. And, they just opened their food cart outside on June 1st, 2017 and it has really good tacos and more! My hubby, dog and friends have made it a semi-regular habit to come out on TUesday evening for Trivia and it's a great, fun environment!!
google avatar

Molly M.

Yelp
Neighborhood watering hole with a stellar beer selection and BEST burgers and fries at the food cart (fancy fries DUHHHH YES). My friends and I are a part of the mug club which is so fun and worth it! In the summer they have Frose, yummy! Nice and helpful staff and dang great beer selection in the cold cases.

Yelp
I walked up to the restroom line. A woman walked away when I walked up. When the restroom was free, I was told a person was in front of me. Not cool! The woman walked away from the line. Who knew you had to take a number to use the restroom! Still NOT COOL!
google avatar

Nick H.

Yelp
Always come for the beer. Haven't had food. Pretty good spot if there is a main event on tv, but when multiple things are on at the same time they can't display multiple things on different tvs. Other than that, good spot.
google avatar

Aparna B.

Yelp
Really enjoy this place both times I've been there. Great selection of beer, food and a nice outdoor seating area. I've enjoyed the citrus IPAs that I've had here and the bf has enjoyed his share of sours/double IPA here as well. For food, really recommend the fried Brussel sprouts (super addictive) and the scotch eggs (can be really spicy). Overall, a great place to enjoy a pint and have a relaxed evening

Susan B.

Yelp
Dropped by the other day to purchase some beer and hard cider. Door blocked and was told could only order online by the only employee present. Ok totally get that. Retreated to ny car and tried to order froM the website. Unable to do so because program frozen and couldn't get to checkout Returned to doorway and asked employee if other folks had as much trouble ordering. "No." No offer to help or ask what problem was. Sat another 15 minutes in car using another phone to order. Finally gave and drove to Plaid Pantry to buy what we wanted. Next time will go there first. Very angry because I am trying to support the small businesses during this time. If this was my employee I would have fired him. Won t be supporting this business

Yelp
Love this place. Great selection, good service, nice outside seating. Nice spot to grab a beer on the way home or pick up some supplies.
google avatar

Eileen K.

Yelp
I live a few blocks from the Uptown on Scholls, and I've watched the place go through a lot of changes in four years! It's always been a great place to grab an interesting beer, either on tap or from the massive cooler collection, but these days they're really on their game in terms of tap selection. Everyone in my group of four had great beers from the tap collection, and the BBQ from the food cart delish. Serious potato salad!
google avatar

Kalani C.

Yelp
I'm so "J"ealous when it comes to groovy things PDX has. They excel in urban planning, green initiatives, community activism & revering beer on a spiritual level. This neighborhood bottling store is a home brewers sanctuary with refrigerated hops, equipment & of course not all work stuff but play. Therefore available brews on tap, chilled (or not ) for immediate consumption, complete with outside bench tables. Selection is ample as I was able to find my once hometown Salzburg bier Stiegl, ja genau das ist ausgesichnicht! Wine selection was darn decent. Friendly & helpful staff. Outside looks like a divey liquor store, but don't let that stop you as inside has the liquid goods you're looking for. "J" I certainly am as I'd roll the red carpet if this popped up in my neck of the woods, seriously! And as if this wasn't enough there's a guy in the parking lot that makes incredible pizza in his brick oven trailer. Pizza and beer? Don't even start!

Yelp
The second you walk into Uptown Market you will be addicted to the atmosphere filled with friendly staff, amazing beers, impressive wines, and a classic popcorn machine. I stopped in to check it out when they first opened in December and it has been my bottle shop of choice ever since. You can grab a pint of beer, or a glass of wine, while you browse the homebrew supplies or the freezer full of high end meats. Can't decide on what beer to take home? The staff is extremely knowledgeable and will happily give you recommendations based on what type of beer you enjoy. Even your dog is welcome to come in and help you choose a bottle from their generous selection of wines. On the rare occasion they don't have that incredibly exclusive beer or exotic ostrich meat you are looking for all you have to do is ask and they will go through whatever is necessary to get it in. Overall, an above and beyond kind of place, and you can't ask for much more than that.
google avatar

Daniel T.

Yelp
Great selection of beers.. best I've seen around. They have some I haven't seen for 5 years anywhere. Unfortunately the service is crappy. Call your order, pick up and leave! Not a fan of standing in line while someone's on their cell phone.. never acknowledges you but you hear them talking about the plans for the evening and weekend. The guy that was cleaning tables came over and grabbed my order but still, I spent $55 online and bought merch from the shop and left tips, but didn't have the feel that I'll be back. I had two beers on the patio also.
google avatar

Qban B.

Yelp
The staff here are all very passionate about their Brewskis. I highly recommend coming here just to unwind from your work day.

Al S.

Yelp
We were here to get a sure shot burger and grab a few beers to take home. I had my baby with me while I ordered our burgers and wanted to tell my husband what beer I wanted -Immediately Kicked off the premise by the bartender. Apparently I could not even stand outside near the burger joint under the awning to stay out of the rain or bit beer togo. It was the tone and the destain he had for us that made it all the more terrible. Hate when local places have to be checked off our list

V M.

Yelp
Unnerving to see people walk up without masks and not be told they need to wear one except when seated/drinking or eating. Mostly concerned for the workers there, but they didn't do anything. Probably something you all should re-train your employees about. I worj in service all day as well and it's for everyone's safety that businesses are diligent about enforcing the rule.
google avatar

Bernie S.

Yelp
Had no idea this bottle shop was in the area. What a great find! Good variety, chill vibe in the place, guy at the counter was friendly. I was afraid I'd have to schlep into downtown PDX to get a decent selection of beer for the weekend. I'll be back for sure!
google avatar

Mike K.

Yelp
Oregon definitely has a few perks on the beer scene that we in Cali don't. I'm at a tasting bar with 26 handles and about 200 plus bottles and cans.
google avatar

Beerboy M.

Yelp
Great place to grab a beer and watch a game. Lots of taps of good beers, including ones brewed on premises. 20+ taps of good beer. Sadly, I'd rate the Uptown Market beers as average. I want to like them more, but they just come out middle of the road. (attention beer geeks: ) Red tasted like some chocolate or roasted malt was used for color, Berliner Weiss was a decent rendition of the style, IPAs and session IPA/pale ale needed more pronounced bitterness or hop presence (sulfate?) to really hit the high notes but had decent flavor from the dry hopping. Guest taps are good choices. Good selection of bottles, good wine and cider selection, and they even have homebrewing supplies. Average prices and selection on the homebrew supplies. Food is from their food truck outside, with a decent selection of pub food to soak up the beer. Worth checking out.
google avatar

Jessica K.

Yelp
Okay so honestly I thought a lot of the reviews here were fake. That many 5 stars??? Well whatever, I'm drinking the kool-aid now too, or rather, the beer. So stoked to have another bottle shop on the west side. I seriously think the only people who have these guys beat on prices is Beermonger's, so there you go. The beer selection isn't as large as John's, but you aren't taking a risk on old bottles here. What they do have is a well-organized, interesting and diverse selection of beers with the occasional rare beer thrown in. They also have a pretty good wine selection. What else do I love about this place? Their outstanding taplist, 6 strong. It's also kept up to date online, so I definitely dig that. Speaking of online, check out their calendar, they have decent amount of brewer events that come through. I was a little surprised to find when we arrived, that it's essentially a mini-mart. So the space is a little eclectic, typical mini-mart snacks sans the fried crap that's been sitting in the machine all day, and then beer and wine goodness. Oh and the meat cooler. You just have to check it out, it has all kinds of unusual finds like elk meat, venison sausages. They even have a section dedicated to glassware. Another side of the joint yields some homebrew supplies and apparently they also offer homebrew classes. If you don't look at it soley as a homebrew shop, but just an added beer-related perk, you shouldn't be disappointed. But wait, there's more! They are dog friendly! Just another place you can hang and drink a brew or beer shop with your pooch. And the staff's cool and knowledgable too! My only complaint is the odd space configuration doesn't leave a ton of room for seating inside, but there are a few seats outdoors. I also looked at it another way-if they want to devote every last inch to more beer and fewer sweaty bottoms, I'm down with that too. Cheers to my new fav bottle shop on the west side!

Yelp
Great bottleshop (and soon to be microbrewer) in SW. Friendly, beer-knowledgeable folks behind the counter who actually appear to appreciate your business. Imagine that. Lots of my best-loved craft beer bombers in the coldcase and always something new I've been wanting to try. I highly recommend.

Michelle R.

Yelp
I called to ask a simple question about purchasing kegs for an event that we're hosting, and before I could say 3 words, the woman who answered growled "I'm too busy, call back later" and HUNG UP ON ME. Yeah, I'll just be taking my $1,000+ order elsewhere.
google avatar

Julie C.

Yelp
Great Place, what a selection! Very friendly. This place is sooo much more than a bottle shop with an awesome selection and decent prices. They have regular brewers and vineyards in for tastings. Plus 5-6 taps for growlers fills (and tasting to make your decisions). The beer selection is almost overwhelming, but they do a great job of organizing the beers in sections. Plus, you can buy a single bottle of beer or mixed 6 for a little bit of a discount. The wine selection looks like it was an "afterthought", but with the impressive beer selection, I give them props for even trying! They do seem to be adding more local Oregon mid priced vineyards, so I will be keeping my eyes on that wine wall! Looking forward to taking the homebrew classes in the future! The only bad thing about this place is how close it is to my house! Almost too easy to swing by and get all the growlers filled and pick up a mixed 6!

Andrew T.

Yelp
The food truck has really good wings - including buffalo! Better than FOTM. Beer list if typical PDX - excellent!

wiley c.

Yelp
What a Mickey Mouse organization! No food today, no cash accepted, no table service, no indoor shopping! Smoking allowed. Was looking for a good neighborhood hangout. Didn't happen.
google avatar

Stephanie H.

Yelp
Love your customers and they will love you back. That is how I feel this place functions. They take good care each and every customer, so I am showing them some love right back. I bought the Groupon for a 6 beer sampler and take-home growler. Now I am not the beer expert, but I do love it which I think counts for something. And in my opinion this place has got some delicious microbrews on tap. We took home the Boneyard IPA, yum yum yum. Our service was fast , friendly, and unpretentious. I love really great local businesses like this one who really value their customers. This was the perfect stop on our day trip to Portland. I will definitely be back the next time I am in town.

Yelp
There is nothing better than a cold beer on a cloudy day. On Saturday, my fiancee and I were craving a local beer and as usual we turned to Yelp for advice. Yelp did not disappoint! Uptown is your standard little hole in the wall beer joint serving food out of a trailer next door. While this screams Portland Metro, to me it reminded me of the small joints I would find in my hometown back in the midwest. This was further proved by the food. Holy guacamole was this food delicious! Sure, it'll clog your arteries faster than you can blink, but that's the best part! The cheese curds reminded me of Wisconsin while the corn dogs reminded me of Minnesota. The best part was the sliders though, these guys definitely learned how to cook from someone in the south because that pulled pork was out of this world! Yes, the beer is delicious (also its reasonably priced) but if you have ever wondered to yourself what the people from the midwest eat besides corn - come here.
