Okay so honestly I thought a lot of the reviews here were fake. That many 5 stars??? Well whatever, I'm drinking the kool-aid now too, or rather, the beer. So stoked to have another bottle shop on the west side. I seriously think the only people who have these guys beat on prices is Beermonger's, so there you go. The beer selection isn't as large as John's, but you aren't taking a risk on old bottles here. What they do have is a well-organized, interesting and diverse selection of beers with the occasional rare beer thrown in. They also have a pretty good wine selection.
What else do I love about this place? Their outstanding taplist, 6 strong. It's also kept up to date online, so I definitely dig that. Speaking of online, check out their calendar, they have decent amount of brewer events that come through.
I was a little surprised to find when we arrived, that it's essentially a mini-mart. So the space is a little eclectic, typical mini-mart snacks sans the fried crap that's been sitting in the machine all day, and then beer and wine goodness. Oh and the meat cooler. You just have to check it out, it has all kinds of unusual finds like elk meat, venison sausages. They even have a section dedicated to glassware.
Another side of the joint yields some homebrew supplies and apparently they also offer homebrew classes. If you don't look at it soley as a homebrew shop, but just an added beer-related perk, you shouldn't be disappointed.
But wait, there's more! They are dog friendly! Just another place you can hang and drink a brew or beer shop with your pooch. And the staff's cool and knowledgable too!
My only complaint is the odd space configuration doesn't leave a ton of room for seating inside, but there are a few seats outdoors. I also looked at it another way-if they want to devote every last inch to more beer and fewer sweaty bottoms, I'm down with that too. Cheers to my new fav bottle shop on the west side!
