Governor Inslee’s Favorite Pancakes Land in Eastlake - Eater Seattle

"Uptown Hophouse’s 24 beer and cider taps are flowing near Key Arena. The sports bar’s current tap list includes names like Reverend Nat’s Hard Cider, Georgetown Brewing, Fremont Brewing, and Pfriem Family Brewers. There’s food, too, like fingerling potatoes with curry ketchup, a charcuterie board, spicy coconut curry bowl, and Cubano sandwich." - Megan Hill

Uptown Hophouse was an amazing time and top tier college football watch party experience. The Philly pretzels we received were delicious and the nachos were solid. Beers were cold and service was similarly solid at our table. It got extremely busy by the time we left, and we had a super fun football event overall. Would come back for sure!

Google
We came for the pretzel and beer cheese. We really enjoyed the pretzels but the beer cheese was a bit spicy. I really liked the semi-dry Yonder cider and my partner liked his espresso martini.

Google
What a cool bar and restaurant right by Climate Pledge Arena! Went there ahead of the Dimension 20 Live Show - Summer 2025. They crafted out a special event selection of cocktails that were delicious and even when the bar got super crowded with event goers, the bartenders and kitchen staff on shift kept up with the rush phenomenally! What a welcoming environment and efficient and thoughtful staff!

Josh LaBounty

Google
Great place! One of the bartenders went above and beyond to create themed cocktails for the Dimension 20 show happening next door and we had an amazing time because of that. Food was great too, loved the Caesar and the BLAT.

Google
Alex, phenomenal, honest fella. Much appreciated. Liquor drinks are pricey, yet delicious 😋 Tasty snacks and great location prior to a show

Google
Friendly staff..lots of tv's to watch sports, sit outside on a nice day. The hotdogs are good..

Delicious food, great service and reasonably priced too! Certainly coming back.

Google
To the woman at the bar on July 15th, what is with the attitude for us asking you to take our order. Sorry we interrupted your conversation with someone at the bar so we could get service. Have been here before and lived it but after tonight not sure if i will return. Food took forever to come out and the eye rolls when we asked for our drinks was completely uncalled for. I understand people have things going on in there lives as well but when they complete our order to go back to BSing I lose sympathy.

Yelp
Seattle finally has a great Sports Bar! Spectacular location next to Climate Pledge Arena and the Seattle Center events. The food blew away my expectations, the staff is very friendly and attentive. Huge line up of local Micro brews and a full bar with generous cocktails. Thank you for bringing back a high quality Sports Bar to the neighborhood!

Yelp
Uptown is cool. I really like the vibe here, feels unpretentious, familiar and has an outstanding array of drinks, including many brews & cocktails. We weren't able to try the food because we came before a dinner rez but I'd be down. Nice joint, super chill on a non-Kraken night.

Yelp
Stopped in here for some drinks after spending most of the day helping out a friend. The bar looked like it was lined with regulars, none of the other seats were occupied which was a bit odd for a Sunday afternoon. Uptown Hophouse is a sports bar and when you walk in there is no mistaking that. Sport merch and decor are shown off and I'm sure its peak times are when a Kraken game is going on or if they're showing a big Seahawks or Mariners game, but I've seen other sport bars still be more populated, so I assume it's somewhat new or perhaps it has something to do with some of the other reviewer's experiences. I was here with some buddies and the bartender was pleasant enough, gave same pours and was present of pour another round when we were empty. Decent selection of beers and they have cocktails as well. Can't speak about the food but it's a decent enough sport bar if you're in the area.

Yelp
Great selection of beer and cider. Small food selection. We got ciders and bar food. Food included pepperoni pizza, nachos, chicken wings, and a side salad. The best thing was probably the nachos. It seemed to be a popular item to get ordered. Service was good but once it gets busy they switch to counter service where you basically order and pay at the counter.

Yelp
Uptown Hophouse is located at Vivid Apartments and is a block away from Climate Pledge Arena. It's in a super convenient location as you can grab a drink before or after events at the arena. Even if you're not going to the arena itself, they have TVs to watch sports games. Although their name is called hophouse, they also serve cocktails and spirits along with beer.

Yelp
Great spot to hit before a Climate Pledge event, but don't be expecting a lot. The beer menu was solid, but both the food and service were lacking. Not only is the bites menu limited (yes, I know, this place is a sports bar), but the food itself is just okay; I got the supreme flatbread and it was just alright - nothing to write home about, despite the price. Service was also a bit inattentive. I'd definitely grab a beer here again but if you're hungry, I'd recommend checking out some of Uptown's other offerings.

Yelp
Good beer selection but the food is very mediocre at best, especially for the price. I used to work food service so I have a lot of patience but even by my standards the staff here is aloof and rude. Definitely won't be coming back.

Yelp
Went here last night before a concert. We had the bodhizafa. Excellent. Though it didn't have much head on it. We ordered the food as well. I got the Steak Hiuse sub. Very disappointing. Shaved smoked tritip. There wasn't much smoked flavor and to be real honest there was barely any meat. Seriously for the $21 your paying you would expect at least more than one layer of meat. There was definitely a lot of cheese. Had chips with it which looked like they opened a bag of ruffles and put it on the plate. My spouse ordered the wings. And they were pretty decent. Had the garlic parmesan seasoning. They were pretty meaty and tasty. Though the number of wings was less than we expected. Maybe we've lived in the suburbs too longs. Is Seattle that expensive now for very mediocre food. We'd come back.. for the beer. Pass on the food.

Yelp
The bestie and I came here to wait until the doors opened at the Climate Pledge Arena for the Old Dominion concert and we didn't want to wait in the rain. It was fortuitous for 3 reasons: the World Series game was on (the bestie is a born and raised Texan and lifelong Rangers fan), I wanted a snack, it was across the street. We got the 1/2 order of chicken nachos. They were delicious, made the right way with crispy cheese edges, juicy chicken and the sour cream on the side (she isn't a fan). The bartenders were attentive even though they were packed. And bonus for having a water station so I didn't have to wait for a refill. Will be back next time we're attending an event at Climate Pledge.

Yelp
They have vegan chilli, just wish they had a vegetarian hot dog to go along with it. good selection of beers though.

Yelp
Our go-to place on Tuesdays (taco day) - beef hard shell is the best! Tried several types of beers and they are always pretty good. Will miss this place since we are moving to another area.

Yelp
This place absolutely gets 5 stars because it exceeded expectations. I was expecting below average bar food and what I got was incredible. The pulled pork sandwich was awesome... couldn't believe it. Soup was great, jalapeño poppers were great, drinks were great... place had a great vibe. Employees were nice and super casual. Great spot to watch a game or to have a few drinks before attending a game at the arena right next to it! I would highly recommend this spot to anyone swinging through!
google avatar

Bernie S.

Yelp
Stopped in here before a Kraken game to grab a few drinks. Good selection on tap. Service was quick, friendly, and the bartenders seemed to be very knowledgeable about what they were pouring. Would definitely stop in here again before games.

Yelp
WOW!!! What??? A neighborhood bar in Seattle where the staff actually cares about your experience? THESE GUYS ARE AMAZING!! James and James (or James and Jimmy) Are two of the most wonderful, accommodating, service oriented guys in this business. I've been in the restaurant industry in this city my entire life. I and am often disappointed in how poor service has become. These two guys at Uptown Hop House will BLOW YOU AWAY!! Thank you- thank you- thank you For reminding me that people like you two still exist!

Yelp
Great location across the street from Seattle's largest performance arena, outdoor seating, friendly no-fuss service, their tasty hummus plate makes a good vegan HH option. If the noise level is under control when I return on a busy night this spot could become a fave.

Fran D.

Yelp
Drinks okay food lousy. Would be sports bar with lots of tvs but no atmosphere. Again - the food was really wanting. It seemed pretty popular with youngish male sports fans.

Yelp
Love this place! The food and service are awesome and I love the ambiance/location. With that said people who come here can be quite rude when it gets crowded. Like I'm waiting there calmly to pay my tab and someone else steps in front and keeps try to nudge me out of the way. Happened twice yesterday (once with a group who eventually left after I wouldn't move and another with an old man) and when I didn't even finish paying (signing my receipt and handing it back with the tip) some old man - who kept trying to step into my space - then literally pushed me out of the spot so that he could pay for his beer instead - with little to no regard that I was still standing there. Like give me an extra 10 seconds to sign my receipt. I had to move since he literally would've physically pushed me or bumped into me but common courtesy and respect for others seems lost on people who seem to come here. The servers were cool about it otherwise - they were nice folk. The irony is that these are the same people who during the pandemic would scream at me to social distance and "go away, get out of here", and would be the first to yell and scream bloody murder and injustice (at times looking for a fight) if I ever did anything remotely the same as these entitled hypocrites. Some would even lecture me on how I'm being rude but of course the same rules don't apply to them since they're so privileged and on a higher moral ground. All around uncomfortable vibes so won't be back for a while.

Yelp
Context: I'm only writing this because there were other reviews stating that these were some of the friendliest most caring bartenders.... And I'm not so sure that's true...This place definitely gives off "have your drink and gtfo vibes" more than "friendly." Which I guess is fine if that's what you want to emulate, but it's a neighborhood sports bar... so I'd think friendliness matters? Drinks were good but holy crap I think the bartenders are either some of the most introverted people I've ever met, or the coldest. Empty on a Sunday. Three bartenders all were talking amongst themselves. They served drinks and got me tabbed out just fine, but didn't check in on how my drink was, didn't ask if I wanted food, didn't try to tell me what they had to offer, just told me to scan the online menu, made drink, asked if I wanted another drink, checked me out --- used as few words as humanly possible --- really didn't do much of anything other than the bare minimum, which I guess I get because they pretty much treated it like any other busy night, except that it wasn't. Wasn't just me either - customer next to me was drinking alone and actually tried to strike up a conversation and the bartender literally nodded and walked back to his buddies to talk to them. I felt so sad for the guy. I don't live in Seattle (and neither did the other customer?) - this didn't give me good vibes about the culture. Is it the freeze??? Also you probably don't want to be bitching about coworkers in front of other people --- you never know who's listening. Sorry guys. I don't think it was intentional it's probably that you're all just tired or really introverted or something. I know this is a mean review, but I'm just tellin the truth. It was a very uncomfortable atmosphere and it didn't have to be. The only reason I stayed was because it was hot as hell outside... you gotta be on your a-game when you're on the clock. :/ might not hurt to take a tip from the bartender you were complaining about and talk to your customers for a sec every so often... or at least don't huddle together and just talk in a group when there are customers there.

Yelp
Came before a Seattle Storm game. Sliders didn't have consistent amount of food on them and could have used more flavor. Wife had Chips, Salsa and Guacamole. Guacamole tasted store bought, Salsa was liquidy and they gave us the bottom of the chips as they were all broken up. Service could have been more attentive so that we could ask to get new chips (which we finally did) and might have had a second drink if they had asked. Overall unimpressed. Drinks were good at least.

Yelp
Sanctuaries come in many forms and Hop House is one of my favorites. It's my go-to place when I need a pick me up, whether it's a cocktail, some baked nachos (important) or great conversation with my favorite bartender, Sail. Atmosphere: It's a great place to watch sports with perfect vantage points from all angles. There's a bar with high tops and an open dining room with banquette seating and tables. The vibe is hard to describe as it's a sports bar, yet you'll have a wonderful time even if you don't care what's on TV. There are board games, a private dining area, and bathrooms with Archipelago reed diffusers for God's sake. It's clean and inviting. Trivia nights as well as Bachelor Mondays! Food & drink: Hop House has a wide selection of rotating beers and also offers artisanal craft cocktails. The menu has seasonal items on rotation, non-fried food options like a Mezze platter and an array of cuisines (pulled pork sandwich, tacos, Thai wings). The nachos are my fave because they're baked and this is v important bc it's all about the cheese dispersion, people! No chip is left un-smothered. Also try the house-made spicy nuts! Service: From the first time I stepped foot in Hop House last year, I knew this would be my go-to place because the people that work there are truly something special. The entire staff is lovely but I do play favorites with Sail. He is one of the funniest people I've ever met and has this quality about him that just makes you want to invite him to Thanksgiving. Every friend I've brought to Hop House, I bring when Sail's working. I'm like ya gotta meet this guy he's just the best! Even if you aren't a regular, he treats you like you're one. He's welcoming, attentive, hilarious, and does a kick-ass job all with an infectious smile. The Seattle freeze doesn't exist at Hop House. See for yourself. Just look for the tallest man you've ever seen and you'll know Sail is working.

Yelp
Definitely a place to go to when you're in and around Queen Anne looking for a spot to grab a drink or catch a game or two. With great food options and dozens of local beers and ciders on tap, this spot has plenty of choices for whatever you're looking for.

Yelp
Food is delicious, drink menu has many options, and service is superb. Rec's: crab dip or hot dog!
google avatar

Trang N.

Yelp
Came here Monday for the nba game. The place was packed and had a limited event menu but we were able to find some gems on this menu. The crab dip was amazing. The shrimp scampi flatbread hit all the notes. It has the buttery crispness of the oven toasted flatbread with generous portions of shrimp and cheese on top. The Asian wings were on point and service was nice despite the crazy amount of people gathered inside. Im excited to try the steak bites and pull pork sandwich next time.

Karen S.

Yelp
My go-to stop before events at Climate Pledge. Decent food menu (more limited on game days); I've tried most of the flatbreads + excellent pulled pork sandwich. Bartenders nice & engaging.
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome food. Really amazing service. This place had one bartender serving 12 tables and he didn't miss a bear. When service around the globe is bad. This place stands out. Turkey pesto sandwich amazing. And the hummus plate. Really good.
google avatar

Gaby G.

Yelp
Super pretentious unless you're a regular or know the bartender. Beer selection was good so 2 stars but vibe was not very welcoming lol. The bartender didn't even ask if we wanted food and would leave immediately after dropping our drinks off
google avatar

Chris L.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I were in Seattle only for a day before going on a cruise. We stopped by the Uptown Hophouse to have a quick drink before heading back to our hotel. I am so glad we found this place. The craft beer selection is amazing. We weren't hungry, but after getting caught up in watching a soccer match that was on one of the TVs we decided to order an appetizer. We ordered the Crab & Artichoke Dip. I am so glad we did. It was phenomenal. The warm baguette was tasty and the actual dip was beyond belief. Probably one of the best crab dips I have ever had. I highly recommend this place if you are in Seattle.
google avatar

Morgan F.

Yelp
None of the food has wowed me. It's a bar food but with some elevation. Do not order the nachos. I go in alone and pretty much get left alone by the staff.
google avatar

Michelle B.

Yelp
Went here for dinner. Not busy at all- walked I. And seated ourselves. Ordered a "Seattle pineapple agave cider", was very good. The pulled pork sandwich was one of the best I've ever had. The perfect amount of spice. The bartender/ waiter told us it's made in house. My fiancé ordered the nachos. He got a huge tray loaded up with all the fixings. The restaurant looked very clean. They had an opening where you can see back into the kitchen which I liked that. The music and vibe was great. They had a bookshelf of board games to play also. Highly recommend if you are in the downtown Seattle area

Bryan S.

Yelp
Bad food, horrible service. It pains me to give a bad review to restaurants but just letting the people know that we had a really bad experience here. Don't let this review affect your decision on going here, but just know that it has the potential to be really disappointing. Their drinks are probably good, but dear god please don't come here for a meal. Though I must say it's cheap, but the quality is you get a little less than you pay for. I'd really like to see them improve on their food and this place would be much better.
google avatar

Yelp
[I've updated my review to relay my second experience here. We were happily surprised by the extended bar menu during the Seahawks v. Cardinals game. Nice! Service was attentive. We ordered a Charcuterie plate that beat the Nest (a fancy hotel bar) by a long shot. We were overcharged 1 cider and the establishment kindly removed that drink. We remain impressed and would come again to watch our hometown football win win win! I claim this as my new game bar. I like the food, TV's, and consistent service. Playoffs here come the hawks and the fans with them! Beware!!! This is a very small (felt like 60 person capacity) neighborhood bar. The best part about this place is that there are huge TV's mounted on every wall of the bar. You can't get a bad view of the game no matter where you sit. It's awesome! The service is great and the bathrooms are so nice and clean, if I could give them an extra half star for that I would. At full capacity on a Monday game night we experienced quick service, regular check in's to make sure we didn't need anything else, and solid bar food for game day. The menu is short, but we didn't want much in the way of food. We were there to watch the Hawks vs. the Vikings game and share a couple ciders. My husband ordered a chili dog and nachos which he said tasted fine. The food was basic with no frills like sour cream or guacamole but like I said that didn't bother us at the time. 3 stars for meeting expectations!

Justin Z.

Yelp
EDIT: I came back because i saw they had trivia. I guess i was too late for trivia, but the bartender was incoherently drunk. I will not be coming back to this establishment.
google avatar

Brendan c.

Yelp
It's a nice little local bar. A place you can walk in off the street and feel comfortable. They have a large beer selection which is unsurprising consider the name. The food was surprisingly good and we were shocked by the portion size. Seriously the chili bowl is huge (thanks to the rice and other mix-ins). A nice touch is the mints by the bathroom! My only comment is while I found the place comfortable I didn't feel like I wanted to stay more than an hour. I can't put my finger on why.
google avatar

Carol Ann A.

Yelp
Great spot for fantasy football players. They play the sound of the game on game days!!! A true sports bar. Had several games playing all at once on big TVs. Not a bad view in the house. And good food with great prices. Beer variety is fantastic too from higher quality craft beers on draft to cheaper domestic beers bottled and canned.
google avatar

Haley J.

Yelp
Wonderful service! Great flatbread. The pulled pork sandwich is fantastic. The drinks pour, we love the friendly servers! They make everyone happy. Go Kraken!!
google avatar

Kara M.

Yelp
Our new favorite neighborhood spot - SO glad they made it through covid! Staff is friendly and goes out of their way to make everyone feel comfortable. They even chased us down the street when we left our credit card! Taco Tuesday is our new favorite ritual, along with the nachos, and we are so excited to have such great food and beer options nearby. Excellent beer selection, great pub food options, and plenty of screens make this the quintessential sports bar.
google avatar

Ariella P.

Yelp
Dropped in for a beer to relax on a rainy Friday afternoon. The bartenders were friendly and attentive. Nice selection of draft brews. Bathrooms were clean and they had many TVs. What more could you ask for?
google avatar

Libby W.

Yelp
We have been here a couple of times, but we had the best experience a couple of weeks ago. We came in for a beer or two and ended up staying all day because everything was so great. The beer selection is awesome - particularly if you're into IPAs. We aren't, actually, but we still had a good variety to choose from and really enjoyed everything we tried. The chili is *amazing* (please try some; I couldn't believe how good it was!). Service at the bar was excellent, and there are tons of tvs for sports fans. This is a very welcome addition to the neighborhood and we will be back soon!
google avatar

Diane J.

Yelp
We are tourists in town for the Coldplay concert. We have been back here twice. The service was great and very friendly (thanks, James!!). The food is exceptionally good (for "bar food")!! Highly recommend!!

Cindy K.

Yelp
If you want a cocktail or beer after a Kracken game or Seattle Center event, skip this place. 5 of us stopped in, dropped a Benjamin + on drinks and pretzels but couldn't hear a thing due to the obnoxious drunk 21 years olds behind us, yelling to the point we couldn't hear anything else. A person inI our party tried to talk to them and they said they didn't get out much (obvi). I asked the bartender if he could say some thing so they would tone it down and he stated it was a public place and couldn't do anything. Since when is a restaurant a public place where you can act like an a*^hole and talk and yell at at the top of your lungs. I guess that means if they decide to take a piss in front of patrons, they won't do anything because it's a public place. The drinks were meh and the experience was not worth the $$. This group was clearly drunk as hell. Isn't there a law against serving inebriated patrons additional alcoholic drinks? Avoid this place if you want to be able to enjoy a cocktail and conversation.

Brook V.

Yelp
Excellent service!! TVs are located in perfect viewing distance from any table. Nice full selection at the bar. Food is outstanding!!! The sandwiches are my favorite. I often go just too eat.
google avatar

Isaac-David R.

Yelp
My local watering hole has everything you need from such a place: great beer, great food, TV's all around, and a great bunch of guys working it.

Greg C.

Yelp
I've been to the Hophouse twice in 2021. Excellent local tap selections and the nachos were enough for 2 people and delicious. Plenty of tv's with all the games on. Service has been attentive on both occasions. I assume this sports bar will take off with Climate Pledge. Look forward to coming back again.
google avatar

Audra B.

Yelp
This place has 24 beers on tap with a cool ass bartender Mike. It's totally a local hub and most everyone in there was a regular. It Uber clean and modern. The only reason I give 4 stars is the kitchen. Now. The food is good. I had Korean bbq tacos and honestly they were really good. SMALL but good. They have no fryer or stove or anything like that so they are very limited to what they can do. But what they can do, they do well. The Nachos were huge! Overall
google avatar

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised about how much I like this Hophouse. Perfect location for football
google avatar

Grayland C.

Yelp
Chill vibe, good beer selection, good food variety. Everything you want in a neighborhood bar.
google avatar

Rob J.

Yelp
Great neighborhood pub. Excellent beer selection as well as tasty cocktails. Taco Tuesday is the best in Seattle. Well staffed and managed! Multiple flat screens, a small but comfortable patio and well maintained dining area make for a top notch restaurant experience.

Dave A.

Yelp
Very solid beer selection with an emphasis on IPA's. Will have to try some food next time I'm in. Bummer that their happy hour ends at 5 pm, which is very early...
google avatar

Scott N.

Yelp
Awesome beer selection that changes daily. My favorite food item disappeared from the menu but they still have many delicious things to eat. Wings were very good as is the panini.
