Uptown Lounge

I didn’t order any food on this visit. I went on a Friday, it’s not my type of vibe. They played majority rap music of this new era. Still a nice establishment and customer service was excellent. Next time I will go on a Saturday to see what type of vibe it has.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Uptown Hookah never disappoints! The food was delicious, the drinks were A1 and affordable, and the prices are hands-down some of the best in Houston. The DJ was spinning all the latest hype music and kept the vibe lit all night. They even had drink specials going all night long! Parking felt safe, which is a big plus, and the manager, Dread, was super attentive and made sure customers were taken care of. Bottle specials were great, and they were very accommodating for large parties. The bartenders mix some of the best drinks in the city. Definitely the place to be in Houston on Tuesdays and Fridays — honestly, any night if you’re looking for a good time!

Uptown is always a vibe when I go visit. However, the waitress Moeney or however you spell her name is the absolute worst. Everytime we come she has an attitude from hell as if she doesn’t want to be at work. We finally got her to come take our 1st order, then when we asked her again she said “oh yall didn’t tip me so yall can go to the bar” The other waitress stepped in and offered to take our order and was very polite, helpful and knowledgeable of specials and everything. Had it not been for the waitress stepping in we would’ve left. I hope management does something about the Moeney girl because that’s insane and unacceptable.

They dropped the price of parking so that’s a plus. Those lemon pepper buffalo wings never let me down! The last 2 times I’ve been the hookah has been terrible. I’m a hookah person so I assume they are using cheap shisha because the flavor (no matter the mix) is terrible..feels like I’m smoking burnt BBQ coals. The drinks are usually good & there is always a special at the bar. The DJ is always on point no matter the day. I hate how they reserve the sections so if you go as a single person it can get awkward if you want hookah or want to sit to eat..

The best time to go is for happy hour. After 9 pm it can get really packed. The bathroom could be better - I think there's a plumbing problem: There are 2 bathrooms but only one toilet works all the time; the other one stops working after a couple hours, lots of gnats, and no regular upkeep throughout the night.

For anyone going here for the first time be mindful where you park. We didn’t realize there was two different lots for two different restaurants and instead of the parking attendant letting us know our vehicle ended up just getting towed. As far as the restaurant, hookah, drinks, and DJ was cool. What completely dropped the entire mood was these two big pregnant roaches. I’ve seen stink bugs and I’ve seen roaches but these bad boys were on another level on how big they were. We took the server.. this man dropped the wings on our table, STOMPED on the roach and just walked away. My stomach DROPPED because he didn’t even bother to clean it up. Then some guy told the security when the second one popped up and he just stomped on it like it was nothing then walked away. The guy across from us got upset and told him to clean it up at least. Then that was a whole back and forth. This was my first time in Houston so I’m not sure how common these big roaches are but we didn’t even finish out food.

Definitely a nice vibe. My bartender was nice and made really good drinks. Get there early for a good table unless you’re gone do a section.

Been in Houston for 3 years, the one and only place I can count on to have a decent time any day of the week I go. Doesn’t have that “Houston club culture” that majority of these “lounges” have. You’re not going to break the bank . The staff is friendly and warm and idk I guess you just gotta have that cool fun vibe and you’ll enjoy this place.
