Google
Found this place in a pinch while in town for an appointment. The food was amazing! Just the photo of the pastrami sandwich reeled me in! Definitely as good as it looks! Street parking is difficult, there's no designated parking for the restaurant and limited seating is available. Definitely not a comfy spot more like a little cafe or a quick diner. Not a place to hang out. The staff was friendly and helpful - just rushed because they were super busy. Pretty much self-serve except the sandwich, you're supposed to grab your own sides out of the cooler and your drinks. Definitely makes things more efficient but with awkward because I didn't understand that's how it worked when I asked about the sides. The potato salad was so-so. I'm an East coaster and I definitely enjoy a little bit more flavor to my potato salad, it was pretty bland to my tastes.

Came here off a recommendation! My friend love their sandwiches and I had to try it for myself. Tried their egg sandwich it was good! Going back for the cold cut sando.

I’ve ordered from this sandwich place a couple of times already. Every single time I’ve ordered a sandwich, it has never failed in being delicious The sandwiches are always crunchy and full of flavor. A good amount of protein is served. The ambience is chill yet lively at the same time. A great place for sandwiches. By the way, they have baked goods and they sell a variety of spices.

Google
Sandwiches were amazing. Good quality bread and meats. There will be a bit of a wait if it's busy, but the sandwich is worth it. Mine was so big I ended up saving the other half for later. I am super picky on pastrami, but this one was tender and delicious. It comes out HOT!

Google
I don't get to make it here as often as I'd like, but whenever I do I'm happy I did. The sandwiches have consistently been good since they opened. If you walk-in, be prepared to wait (remember...good food is always worth waiting for), if you don't want to wait, order before and pick up. Don't ignore all the handpicked goodies in store as well, i've always found an extra little snack or two. Thanks Uptown Provisions for keeping it tasty 😊

Google
I've tried their sandwiches before but only stepped foot inside the deli for the first time today. The prime rib sandwich is delicious and I'd have it every week if possible. The Italian sandwich is also good and of course their egg sandwich is also popular. The service is simple and courteous. You can dine there or do takeout. You can also place an order ahead of time for pickup. There's only a few tables indoors but plenty of tables outside. The restaurant has an A food health safety rating. The restaurant also sells gourmet beverages, ice cream, and more.

Google
This is a very nice sandwich shop that's close to Uptown Whittier and all the sandwiches smell very good!

Google
We ordered turkey on sourdough and the brisket and prime rib. They didn't have the corn bread. However they were pretty good. I also ordered a dr pepper and an orange drink ( if you know you know) hahaha jk I ain't jlo. It was just Fanta.

Yelp
Best sandwich I've eaten in LA, no contest. Sandwiches are really basic. They're easy to make at home and it doesn't take too many ingredients. This is to say, it's hard to make a spectacular sandwich. This was a spectacular sandwich. First of all, the bread is perfect. A mild sourdough that's a bit crusty and toasted just right. Then there's the combination of flavors. It's like.. a spicy and sweet Italian sandwich with just a bit of acid. It kind of reminded me of a muffuletta without the olive tapenade. They also have a turkey sandwich kids meal. It's basically the same size as an adult sandwich but just with turkey, cheese, and mayo. I felt like that really showed how incredible these sandwiches are. How could something so simple and normal taste that much more delicious? Couldn't recommend this enough. I don't know how this place isn't more popular than it is.

Yelp
Still absolutely love this place 2 years after discovering it and still try to get their food atleast once every other month. However they've gotten pretty popular which is negatively effect their ability to serve customers as of late. Example; Online ordered 2 sandwiches today at 1230. Could have swore the site said prior to submitted they'd be ready by 1255. I go to pick them up and they tell me they're not due until 155. Why it takes nearly 2 hours to make one set of sandwiches is beyond me but I did see a 45 minute wait chalk board on the counter so I geuss it makes sense. I do think they need to expand operations to handle the inflex of foot traffic they've now built though as a nearly 2 hour wait for a sandwiches is rough. Another note, I met the owner and her son very early on in 2023 when they first opened and they were kind! However we had pur nephew with us today and asked to use the bathroom as he really needed to go and the register person said no restroom. Fact is they do have a restroom but it's for Staff only but as a mom and pop/family owned shop I thought they would have made an exception for a kid but nope. Once again great sandwiches (and potato salad now too!) However they are slowly losing a little character that once made them special. I do hope they can gain it back with some better management.

Chad K.

Yelp
The sandwiches are great. No one can argue with that, but the wait time can get quite long, the dining area is super cramped, and the prices are about $5 higher than I would have expected them to be. I think if you order ahead of time and then just show up to grab-and-go, you'll have a much better experience. I can't argue with the flavor combinations, the bread, and the quality. It was fantastic. Ordering it and eating it there is another story.

Yelp
Oh my Gosh this place is very neat and very good. Sammy's here are bomb it's a must try and will make you come back for more, service is great very personable and the outside seating and inside as well is perfect for lunch and to hangout. I am telling everyone about this place it's very good and fresh and the lil deserts too something to write home about Cheers

Christine C.

Yelp
10/10!!!! Stopped by with coworkers for a quick bite. This place did not disappoint. They were fast and friendly. There is indoor dining and outdoor. I ordered the egg salad sandwich this was bomb, bread was soft and toasted to perfection. You can honestly see and taste the quality in their ingredients. My coworkers also loved their sandwiches and enjoyed them. I'll Definitely will be back

Wai C.

Yelp
This place was recommended by my co-worker. Places a pick-up order from their website. I ordered the Tom's way egg sandwich! It's delicious! This special combines with Pastrami, egg salad, swiss cheese, pickled onion and broccoli slaw served on toasted country bread. It also has a little kick to it! Hit the spot right especially when I'm not a sandwich person! Definitely recommend others to try it!

Paul B.

Yelp
I was in the area, and was impressed by the Yelp reviews. The place is cozy and was very busy. I was impressed how many employees were behind the counter busily making sandwiches (6 ppl!) I'm a sucker for egg salad, so I knew I had to get it. It was probably one of the worst I've ever had. It just had TOO many things going on in this simple sandwich. When you take a bite, you taste tomato, chili, onions(?), lettuce, butter, basically everything except Egg. All these extra things overwhelm the delicate nature of egg and mayo. The brioche bread was buttered and toasted. It was tasty, but not the right choice for egg salad. Because the bread was thick and toasted, when you took a bite, the ingredients would just slide out the back of the sandwich. It becomes a huge mess. It was one of those sandwiches that sounded like a good idea, with quality ingredients, but in the end, it's just too much. I wouldn't recommend this...

Bianka G.

Yelp
Found myself in Whittier and knew it was time to check to finally check them out. Been going through a sandwich phase so was excited to try one of their many options. Honestly they all sound really good so it was hard to make this choice for my first time. Luckily I wasn't alone so got a chance to try two! Toms Way: egg salad and pastrami Prime Rib and BBQ brisket The pastrami was very tasty. Thick cut and juicy. Good amount on the sandwich. Egg salad was a little scare but next time will just have to try the egg salad sandwich on brioche. The prime rib/brisket sandwich was also good, very meaty! Next time I'm hitting up the spicy gabagool. They have some market items you can buy like ice cream, drinks, hot sauce, sardines, olive oil, desserts, etc Oh the flat crispy chocolate chip cookies was chocolate-y and buttery. Waited about 45 mins so if you come here on the weekend, be prepared to wait.

Michelle O.

Yelp
I've seen this place all over TikTok. The sandwiches looked amazing. So I happen to be in the area and I knew this is where I wanted to go. This store is located in a little neighborhood. Is really small. I don't know if they are repainting the top top of the store. But it's all back. Once I was passing the shop, that's when I saw the Uptown Provisions logo. The girl taking my order was super nice. She let me take my time reading the menu and deciding what I would like to order. I ended up getting two of their top sellers. The smoked pastrami $16.00 I got mine with the sauerkraut on the side and no Swiss cheese. Omg, the flavors exploded in my mouth. The rye bread was so good with the pastrami. I also tried the prime rib and barbecue brisket sandwich $16.00 I think this sandwich was my favorite. The flavor all mix well together and it just leaves you wanting more! I loved it! I wished I lived closer or that we had this sandwich place here in Oceanside! I would be going here all the time!!! I will definitely recommend this place to my family and friends! I can't wait to come back here!!

Brian V.

Yelp
Small neighborhood cafe/ sandwich shop that also sells some goods within their shop. The folks here are very friendly and helpful and the vibe is definitely a small neighborhood spot that seems to be a gem for the folks in the area. Came here to get specifically the Spicy Gabagool sandwich because of a post I saw on IG. It was a pretty large sandwich and had lots of flavor from the ingredients. I was a fan for sure. Definitely want to come back to try the egg salad sandwich that I heard about. Parking is pretty easy to find in the area.

Nathan P.

Yelp
if you're looking for some delicious sandos, uptown provisions will satisfy your cravings. After seeing hungry4munchies video trying these sandwiches, I knew I had to stop by. If only I didn't live 40 minutes away, I'd definitely be here more often. It's also unfortunate that they're closed on my days off! I tried the pastrami and spicy gabagool sandwiches. Instantly obsessed with both due to the range of textures and depth of flavors. These are just well crafted sandwiches from the toasted bread, pickled onion, and hot honey. I also love that they're generous with the amount of meat. I hate when sandwich shops skimp out as it creates a less satisfying experience. They also have pastries and I had the snickerdoodle and chocolate chip rice krispie cookie. Texture of the cookies were on point and they were both not sickeningly sweet. The shop has a chill vibe and they were already busy just as they opened. While you wait for your order there's plenty of dry goods to browse through, drinks, pastries, and ice cream. Service was friendly and the wait for my order didn't take too long. If you're in the area, I recommend! But also it's worth a drive and I'll be back for sure the next time I'm craving a sandwich.

Gary M.

Yelp
Salty, bitter taste. Soggy and wet with thick bread..too much bread. Not my kind of sandwich. Use to tuna, mayo, onion and pickles. To gourmet for me.

Rosemarie L.

Yelp
I am not a sandwich person, but I might have to rethink my decision after visiting this sandwich shop! The quality of food & presentation is worth the drive than any spots in LA could offer. Be sure to place an order ahead of time because food sells out quickly. I placed a pickup online, and by the time I arrived ( approximately 2 hours after ordering ), everything was selling out. I ordered: Prime rib & bbq brisket sandwich-- I can see why it is a hot selling item. Portions were big enough to share, and I was full with half a sandwich. I was pleasantly surprised by how thicc the sandwich was, and they spared no expense at making sure my sandwich was STUFFED. Egg salad sandwich-- my favorite out of the two sandwiches I ordered. Typically I am not an egg salad person, but upon the first bite you can tell the sandwich was carefully crafted with each topping. The toasted brioche bread was the highlight of the meal, and added a nice flavor / texture to the sandwich. There was so much flavor!!! Cake monkey pecan pie bar-- a nice sweet treat after a savory meal! I can't stop thinking about this item and would recommend everyone to try it out Cake monkey black and white cakewhich-- very similar to a ding dong. The outer layer of chocolate was too soft for my liking, so it was the only thing I did not enjoy

Linda B.

Yelp
OMG, I totally get the hype, and Uptown Provisions is definitely a must if you're in the area. I definitely recommend ordering online to save yourself time. I went on a lunch break and was able to grab a table and enjoy my food, but when I left, there was a very long line right before closing! Everything on the menu looked delicious, and it was really difficult to choose, but I'm determined to try every sandwich item! I can't wait to come back!

Haley W.

Yelp
Been wanting to try this place for ages but for some reason every time I've tried to go they've been closed. Finally made it in and it was well worth the wait! The spicy gabagool sandwich was a freakin dream. No notes, sandwiches just don't get any better than this! I will crave this sandwich, I will wake up in the middle of the night needing it. Okay maybe I'm being a little dramatic, but it really is THAT good. The meatball sub was your average meatball sub. It was tasty, but didn't effect me the same as the gabagool. I wish there was more of the pesto aioli on it, and it was tricky to eat. Better to take it home where you can use metal utensils and go at it in a way you just wouldn't in public. But seriously, try the spicy gabagool!

Ana J.

Yelp
I discovered this little gem in uptown. It's a small little deli with street parking but there is a public parking lot close by. I went around lunch time so the place was buzzing with all small tables outside being used. I ordered the turkey sandwich and paid $14. There is a sign behind the counter that tells you the current wait time for your order. When I arrived, it said 25 to 30 minutes, but my order was done in 14 minutes. The sandwich came with a toasted bread and had a sweet and tangy taste. The ingredients tasted fresh and with all the different flavors, the sandwich tasted amazing. I will definitely be back to try out more options. The staff is friendly and that's a huge bonus for me.

Denise N.

Yelp
One of my favorite sandwich spots. Just wish it was a bit closer to me but maybe it's a good hung it's not otherwise I'll be going almost weekly! I keep saying I'll try a different sandwich but I always gravitate toward the italian-ish, spicy gabagool or the egg salad. One day I'll try all of them but you can't go wrong with either one of those! I'm sure the others are just as good. The place is always so busy so I do recommend ordering online ahead of time. Expect a wait. This way you can take your time heading over. Workers are nice and super friendly. Definitely a popular place in the area. Very small seating area so recommended to take it to go and there's street parking around the block.

jenny m.

Yelp
This is a solid sandwich shop. I've read so many pounds and seen so many views, but I have to try it out for myself and I was not disappointed. Both of the sandwiches were good but the spicy gabagool really stands out.

Michi L.

Yelp
Wow, all the sandwiches were so good! It's a small mom and pop shop in Whittier on Penn St. We decided to go to the store and just order there. But you can also order online and pick it up. The service was quick and they did let us know that they had run out of country bread so those sandwiches were served on rye. It's a small place with a few tables inside and few outside. They have a few fridges with drinks and a section with some deli items on a shelf. They also sell merch. And their designs were very cute. We got the Italian-ish, prosciutto, and the smoked pastrami. All of them were delicious. It was hard to pick a favorite but I really enjoyed the Italian-ish and Prosciutto. Their sandwiches are big and they are very filling. I'll definitely be coming back to try some of their other sandwiches.

Chantel C.

Yelp
Literally props to whoever was running the food line when we were in bc she ran that sandwich line like the navy!!! Service was so fast for how busy it was and the sandwiches came out perfect! All the ingredients are so fresh and crunchy and the sammie's are nice and saucy. Inside there is coolers with unique bevs and goods to browse while you wait for you food. Limited seating inside but there's some cute tables outside to enjoy on a nice day. I would def recommend this place if your in the area!

Alma R.

Yelp
Ordered the spicy Italiaish sandwich for lunch.....yummmm. I will definitely order it again. Wasn't a fan of the potato salad, next time I will try the pesto salad.

Samantha W.

Yelp
Yum! I recently stopped by with my brother and we each got sandwiches that were super good! I appreciate the vegan options and enjoyed browsing the small selection of grocery items they had available. The staff were super friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. I will definitely be back!

Julia E.

Yelp
Talk about a sandwich! Definitely the best mom and pop deli/sandwich shop in uptown Whittier. It's definitely a spot to go to and try out all of the delicious food on the menu! A very friendly and welcoming spot to go to, thank you for the 12/10 experience will definitely be back for more.

Kirsten S.

Yelp
We waited an hour to get our sandwiches. I got the egg salad and turkey sandwich and it cost $29. For how big and flavorful these sandwiches were, the prices were fair, just the wait was atrocious! The workers were working their butts off but they just need more space for how popular this place is. There was sitting indoor and outdoor but it couldn't accommodate for everyone there. Street parking.

Shaktti R.

Yelp
this is definitely my fav food spot in Whittier me and bf try to come here every Sunday for brunch. You can never go wrong with any of their sandwiches. The staff is friendly and are always on top of their game with turn around time I always get my food pretty fast. No more than 15 minutes. You can dine in, they have seats inside and outside. I always prefer outside or too go but it's really to just sit, relax and eat.

Christine I.

Yelp
Wow! What a sandwich! First off, don't let the menu prices intimidate you. Yes, it's a bit on the higher end, however the sandwiches speak for themselves and you get thee ultimate 'bang for your buck'! I had lunch here and didn't need to eat dinner Ordered the Spicy Gabagool 100/10! If you like hot honey and arugula, get this! Also tried the Prime Rib & BBQ brisket, I honestly am never one to choose meaty type sammies but bc they added a broccoli slaw, voila you get a savory balanced bite! I'll be coming back so soon to try the rest of the menu! They have seating outside and a small nook of seating inside, but still some decent space for standing room. The staff was kind super productive, a bit of a waiting time, but tolerable! Can't rush perfection! I love that they incorporated a mini shop with fun diverse snacks and sauces to try. I've been wanting to try Masa Chips for awhile but avoided shipping online and so I was happy to see it! Definitely a place to try out!

Vu N.

Yelp
Wow!!! Who and why would anyone pay 15 bucks for an egg salad sandwich!! Me !! And everyone else should also cause it was as good as an egg sandwich can ever be. Perfect! Bread was amazing !! Everything about this was so good !!! Also got the spicy gabagool and it was just as good !! Taste so fresh and yummy !! Cookies were very good also !! Snickerdoodle so soft !! Whittier is not known for much but don't sleep on this place !! So worth the drive

Tony Y.

Yelp
Best sandwich shop ever. Anything less than a 5 star rating is blasphemy. Friendly crew with some serious sandwich slinging skills. The shop doesn't have a lot of seating inside, but they do offer some outside. Parking is found on the street. Tbh i don't think you can go wrong with any of the sandwiches here. My personal favorites are the prime rib and brisket, tom's style egg and spicy gabagool. don't run, teleport here now!

Craig W.

Yelp
The humble turkey sandwich is probably the most boring sandwich of all. HOWEVER: The turkey sandwich here just might be the best turkey sandwich I've ever had, anywhere, ever. It comes with delicious turkey, Havarti cheese, pickled onions, mayo, and other goodies on beautiful crusty bread. I'd order it again in a heartbeat. The Italian-ish is also excellent. It is absolutely stuffed with Italian meats and cheeses and it's wonderful. I really, really wanted to love the egg salad sandwich but I didn't. It's packed with a ton of egg salad, and it's messy (which is fine with me), but I didn't think it had a ton of flavor. I ordered on a weekday and there was no line. I think my three sandwiches were ready in 10 minutes. Excellent service at the front counter. They have bread and baked sweets, too. The "Big O" (interesting name, that one) was a delight. It's like a giant Oreo but with Mexican chocolate. It's very good. The sandwiches here are simply wonderful. This place is well worth going out of your way for.

James V.

Yelp
Sandwiches were delicious. There were five of us, but four ordered different sandwiches. All were very good and satisfying. Preferably the pastrami cuts a little thinner, but was still good. Employee at ordering counter was very kind and patient as we looked at menu. Place was really busy on a Sunday. It was a long wait for the sandwiches. If possible, order ahead, if they take phone orders. Overall, first time there and will go again sometime.

Victoria T.

Yelp
These sandwiches are insane! So good, fresh and healthy. The place is super busy so either order in advance or make sure you're ready to wait. They have baked goods too and a whole pantry area with goods and foods for sale. They even have plates and cups, etc.- all which seem handmade and with beautiful work. We got the pastrami sandwich and the avo toast both which were amazing. Cute little spot with seating, lively and casual!

Young L.

Yelp
You can just TELL there's so much love put into these sandwiches. They're PACKED in between some of the best bread I've ever had. I've tried four of their sandwiches so far. My favorite is prime rib and BBQ brisket. I love cole slaw in a sandwich, especially when it's with layers and layers of meat. Second favorite is the Spicy Gabagool sandwich. The burrata is sooo delicious and there's a nice tangy flavor from the Calabrian chile. It's just perfect. My last two I tried are the meatballs sandwich and Egg Salad Sandwich. I was so sad I didn't enjoy the Egg Salad because it seems to be a favorite here. However, I just don't think it's for me. Reasons being, the brioche bread is sweet and I realize I just don't like sweet bread in a sandwich. My first bite of the egg salad was filled with pepperoncini so it really overpowered the egg and avocado. I realize I'm a purist when it comes to egg salad sandwiches where all I need a is egg, kewpie mayo and salt. Anyway to wrap it up, I think this place deserves the crowd and all the accolades. It's a solid sandwich spot.

Johnny M.

Yelp
Straight up, one of my top 3 favorite sandwiches / sandwich spots I have ever been too. Talk about hidden gem. Food: Smoked Pastrami Sandwich The menu says smoked pastrami, but think of it as an upscale Reuben. Thousand island, pastrami, sauerkraut add some pickled onions and now you have a fancy Reuben. The bread is perfectly soft and hard in the right spots, it held up super well against all the ingredients. The pastrami itself is served hot making everything kind of just melt together, making the perfect blend of all the flavors together happen. 10/10 would recommend. Restauarnt: This spot is not where I originally imagined it was. Instead it looks like one of those neighborhood delis that you hear about on the East Coast. Literally next door to the small strip of shops is a bunch of apartments. Parking was not too difficult, but it does fill up quick. Inside there is about 6ish tables, and a few tables outside. Sandwiches are perfect for taking to-go, and Whittier has plenty of parks to sit around and enjoy your food. Note: Each sandwich is between $12-16.00. You probably pay about the same if you went to Jersey Mike's or other chains, support a small local business that is making some of the best food you'll ever have!

Anush G.

Yelp
Here again to say that Uptown Provisions is still SO GOOD. I went here again after a while (I live out of town now), and the quality has not changed.

Brandy R.

Yelp
I've ordered from this sandwich place a couple of times already. Every single time I've ordered a sandwich, it has never failed in being delicious The sandwiches are always crunchy and full of flavor. A good amount of protein is served. The ambience is chill yet lively at the same time. A great place for sandwiches. By the way, they have baked goods and they sell a variety of spices.

Yelp
Delicious sandwiches! Every time I'm in Whittier I have to stop by Uptown provisions! I had family come from out of town and we bought one of each sandwich to try. They loved them all but the favorite was the Spicy Gabagool with avacado. We went back two more times before they went home.

Janice L.

Yelp
I'm not a sandwich person but the bread at this place made me a convert! Italian ish sandwich - full of flavor and crispy yet soft bread. Large portions I ate 1/2 for lunch and other 1/2 for dinner! Came with colleagues - everyone raved about their sandwich. You will not be disappointed!

Eric P.

Yelp
This place never disappoints. The bread is fantastic. Chewy and crunchy just perfect for a sandwich. We have had many of the different sandwiches but this time was the Turkey and a favorite of ours the Prime Brisket. Don't sleep on the Turkey. It might be the best sandwich we have had here. Great sweet treats too. I would love it if they had fresh brewed ice tea but plenty of canned options. Staff is always friendly.

Nathan A.

Yelp
The sandwiches are amazing here, probably the best sandwiches in whittier period! They do take a little while to make them, but I believe it is worth the wait. The inside is nice, however it does usually get crowded and there isn't a lot of space so it is best to get them to go. If you're looking for a good sandwich and have a little extra time, you should definitely check this place out!

Blake M.

Yelp
Would be saying that this was quite possible the greatest sandwich I've ever had be an overstatement? Well I don't care. The Spicy Gabagool is one of the greatest sandwiches I've ever eaten in my entire life. The first time I tried this sandwich, I was in my car on the 710. I practically hit the car in front of me because after the first bite I literally couldn't feel my face! It was the greatest blend of flavors that time simply stopped. Over the next few weeks, I ate that sandwich at least 4 more times. I also tried the Meatball which is incredible! The Brisket or meat sandwich wasn't my favorite. Go for the Gabagool if you're a first time flyer. Not to mention, when you walk in this place -- the smells are something out of this world.

Rowena B.

Yelp
10 STARS! My new favorite sandwich place. My first time here and loved everything we got. The bread alone is amazing. Meat, the chili spread and burrata cheese in the spicy gabagool is the BOMB. Sun dried tomatoes, basil and pickled onions in the Prosciutto sandwich was 10/10. Pasta salad - Amazing! The place is located on a cute little street with street parking. The girl took our order was super nice and food came out pretty quick. I got a cinna-doodle cookie to go also.

Deny V.

Yelp
First timer. I had the spicy gabagool. Best sandwich I've ever had. You've got to try it. Potato salad is not your average potato salad and not vegetarian. I believe I tasted bacon bits in it, which for me was a nice surprise. The drink was really good too. First time having this drink. Lol. Can't wait to be back. Staff is very nice and friendly.

Monica T.

Yelp
Uptown provisions can do no wrong. I have had their tuna, turkey, brisket, and egg sandwiches and they never miss.

Celeste H.

Yelp
Found this place from the bread company they use for their sandwiches! I love Hey Brother Baker so seeing sandwiches made from their bread made me very ecstatic to try! We got these sandwiches below via Online Order: Spicy Gabagool Sandwich $15.00 Smoked Ham & Gouda Sandwich $15.00 Prosciutto and stracciatella Sandwich $16.00 Delicious! Amazing, 10/10. You have to try it! Everything is fresh and you can really taste the quality.

Will W.

Yelp
I got the Ruben and it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Pro Tip: call your order ahead 30 minutes. We called our in and only waited about 10 minutes when we got to the shop. Also, if you're bored, read the 1 star reviews. Hilarious! If you want to customize a sandwich and get it in 2 minutes, there's always Subway.

Eric L.

Yelp
The reason I'm updating my review is because I went back to Uptown Provisions on a Sunday. I even talked to who I assumed was an owner of the business about expanding their prep area into the dining area. I love seeing small business do great things, but they need to figure out what to do about the high demand and long waits. When your product isn't consistent because you're trying to keep up with the demand that becomes a problem and that's when you start losing business. The sandwich I ate the first time was full of meat and you could taste the burrata cheese, hot honey, etc. When I went when they were busy, the sandwich was lacking in flavor and volume. It seems like the sandwich maker didn't care and was just slapping it together to get it out.... On a good note. I did try their potato salad. It was probably the best potato salad I've had in a long time. I hope they can see this review as constructive criticism. I'll definitely go back, just not on a Sunday when their the busiest.

Yelp
Uptown Provisions is more than just a place with great sandwiches - it's a community hub that reminds me of a New York-style bodega right here in Whittier. When you walk in, you're greeted by a friendly atmosphere that feels like home/Whittier. The staff is friendly and makes you feel welcome, personifying the spirit of the city. You'll feel this is a spot where neighbors and friends gather to bond over meals. It's definitely a nice break from your chain-sandwich spots, and it gives Uptown Provisions a unique charm that also stands out among other restaurants in the area. Now, let's talk about the sandwiches which are nothing short of amazing! Each bite is a testament to the care and passion that goes into crafting each sandwich. My favorites are the Smoked Pastrami and Brisket sandwiches. If you're a party of two, we like to trade one slice of each. We'll pair the meal with BBQ chips, potato salad and bottled sodas from the fridge. Regardless whatever you order you won't be disappointed. If you're ordering to go, I recommend phoning ahead about 30-minutes in advance. You'll taste all of the thought & love that has gone into making your meal so it takes a little extra time plus this is a fairly popular spot especially around brunch/lunch. But I think the best experience is to dine in on a sunny day! Enjoy.
