I really wish this place had worked out because it was such a convenient location, but in the end we had to move on.
UpTown pup is one of those places that refuses to use adult words when talking about the services they offer or your dog in general, every time it's an exhausting and frustrating experience trying to decipher what they are trying to say from a small list of cutesy wutesy buzz words.
They will sell you "credits" that they cannot accommodate because their facility is too small for their clientele. Imagine loading up 600$ of credits only to be told that they are booked solid for the next two weeks, that's an unfortunately common experience here.
They not only offer daycare and grooming, but they unfortunately also have staffed trainers and training programs. They use the former to try to manipulate you into buying into the latter. Another exhausting and ridiculous thing you will have to deal with consistently. They will corner you when picking up your dog to try to convince you that they need their specific training program and they will straight up fabricate issues that your dog will never do anywhere else except, conveniently, in their facility.. but you're in luck! They can work with them during the daycare you're already paying for! If you deny or ignore this scheme, they will continuously harass you through various platforms until you leave to make room for someone else who might buy into it. The male trainer is particularly passive aggressive and as far as I can tell only wants easy couch potato dogs at their facility.
We have a well trained dog who is a high energy breed. UpTown cannot accommodate a high energy dog, their rooms are too small. I'm only mentioning this because they will not show you how small their play rooms are unless you request to see, and they will not explain this to you like an adult. They will blame the dog over the facility every single time, because hey, maybe you'll buy into their training racket.
My dog would come home tired every once in a while, but usually he came home with full energy and seemed particularly happy to get away from there. I have no proof so take this with a grain of salt, but I'm certain that most days they would just crate my dog. As a customer that's an extremely frustrating notion, I not only pay a premium so that my dog can enjoy their day but I expect them to be at least a little worn out at the end of the day. If I wanted my dog crated all day I can do it for free at home.
If you live in SoBro and have a couch dog, this place may very well work out for you. I can definitely see the clientele they want to have, but again, they won't use adult words to convey that because they don't want to hurt your dogs feelings or something.
We have since transitioned to another much larger facility close by and it's been nothing but a positive experience. Our dog is tired every single day, he's consistently spotted on their instagram having a blast with all of the other dogs in the big open playground. The staff has essentially debunked every "issue" that UpTown claimed our dog had. If you have a high energy breed I would suggest going elsewhere for both you and your dogs sake.
