Uptown Tavern

We hosted our rehearsal dinner at Uptown Tavern and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. Mark, the bar manager, was incredibly helpful and supportive throughout the planning process—responsive, organized, and genuinely a joy to work with. The atmosphere was perfect for our group, and the food was very good—fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. Our guests had a great time, and everything went smoothly thanks to the staff’s professionalism and attention to detail. We’re so glad we chose Uptown Tavern and highly recommend it for anyone planning a private event or just looking for a great spot with great service. Thank you again to Mark and the entire team!

Uptown Tavern has that classic bar feel with a great atmosphere and the bonus of a banquet hall attached. The wrap-around bar is a standout--old-school charm that adds to the experience. They've also got the best pool table north of Madison, which is a huge plus if you're into a good game. The food is solid, and the prices are right in the middle--not too pricey, but you're getting good value. The only downside is that the bar can get chilly in the winter when the door opens, but it's a small trade-off for the overall vibe. Service is great, making it an easy spot to come back to again and again.

We popped in on a whim, and were pleasantly surprised. The outside is no reflection of the inside which was clean and bright. We were kindly greeted and had great conversation with both members of the bar staff. It was almost like being in a British Pub. The food was good and we will definitely be back!

Had the tenderloin. It was one of the best I have ever had. Flavor was amazing! Cooked to perfection! The staff was very friendly! Highly recommended stopping by.

Stopped here after seeing menu at our hotel. Great food! Great service! If we are ever in town again, we will be back!

Warm and sprightly service, excellent cocktails and local beer, Friday fish special perfectly baked fresh-caught Lake whitefish. Outstanding!

Uptown serviced my family of 15 for dinner on a Friday night. ALL of our meals were SO delicious ! Mark, the server was so accommodating and pleasant! And.. the $3.00 addition for the salad bar was worth it X 10!!! Recommend to all!
