Wow, I went for a Halloween themed art show & this place, blew me away. The variety of art they have here is incredible, the space is gorgeous. The art is affordable!!!!! the employees are kind and give yourself several hours cause you’ll want it! I love that they give local artist a chance to shine! So fun. I purchased so much incredible art and I found prints from one of my favorite artists who I met at a farmers market in Park city!

Amazing space and mostly fabulous staff (you know who you are)! An abundance of interesting artwork from varios styles. It does appear Individual styles may be overlooked as they simply maintain so much work from so menu talented artists. The Salt Lake City Art store is a delight!

These guys are really really nice. Their space is large and they really are great at supporting local artists. BUT, their lighting is really gnarly. If you have sensitivity to artificial lights, bring shades or a brimmed hat. These lights are just so bad. AND don't expect anything in the way of parking. They choose to have a paid event when the Delta Center has an event, too. Parking was absolutely terrible and unattainable. My friend told me that there's someone who will give you a code to the garage for a discount, but it only works if there's any space. We just parked at a distant establishment and got an Uber.

Had time to kill before a concert in SLC, so we wandered Gateway. There was a sign for an afternoon market inside. Glad we stopped, but I'm also glad we don't live here, we'd be poor. If you are a sci-fi, pop culture art, etc fan you will be amazed at the artwork. I've been to many galleries where photos are strictly forbidden so only took photos of artist placards so we could get info on individual websites. We were flying so no room to take home except for trinkets. I do wish some of the artists had better IDs, many had QR codes or business cards, but many did not. I'm definitely buying Christmas gifts by some, I hope the ones I'm interested in have great buying websites with shipping. The market had about 10 vendors. The wand guy was incredible. Did not care for some of the political statements or some of the occult items, but I'm an adult and can move on from them without being offended. Everyone should check it out. Glad we stopped, wouldn't have known if we hadn't seen the sandwich board!

This place is great! Full of unique things from local artist. I love going in just to checkout what new and get a few fun stickers. Urban Arts is also associated with some of the Art exhibits at the Gateway, like Dreamscape. That what my pictures are from. If you're at the Gateway mall this is a fun place to pop in and check out.

Everyone needs to go here. This gallery has such a unique atmosphere and showcases art from all types of creators. Anyone can find something they love here. The best part in my opinion was Mambo, who I later got a sticker of to complement the beautiful painting I had to buy. We will be coming back every time we visit Salt Lake!

Really fun shop to explore. Great original art work. We always find something to buy. Staff is very helpful and friendly.

If u love art or anything related to it. Go here, it's worth it. The scenery is so calm relaxing and stunning!

What a cool gallery! There are a bunch of different artists' work on display. Various mediums and sizes and styles and price ranges. Currently there's an exhibition with artists decorating skate decks. I didn't attend, but they have art classes and other community events that would make for a great evening - whether alone, with friends or as a date.

Local art! I love that this is located at the Gateway-a place that embraces art and incorporates it into every space. Having a dedicated gallery is so appropriate and fitting! There is no cover charge and this is more of a shop than a gallery, really. Everything is for sale and there is a variety of one-of-a-kind pieces as well as some that are produced in mass (t-shirts, etc.) There's a little something here for everyone. Like with most art, everything here won't appeal to every person. Go and browse-some items may speak to you while others do not. That's ok! That's what makes it artistic. The space is large and not cluttered. I felt like there could be even more. But not so much that it becomes too boutique-y and crowded. I look forward to returning occasionally to see if they rotate out any of the inventory/exhibits. It's like a year-round art show!

Love the concept and embracing love embracing local artists. Their image and curation of their space needs work.

This is exactly the kind of place that we need more of in SLC. A place where a bunch of unique and local artists come together to display their art and sell a few wares. This is exactly the kind of place that the Gateway needs more of. The Gateway can become a bastion of local connections and local people and local businesses and the antithesis of large malls. But that's above the scope of this review. It's not exactly a museum, and not exactly a gift shop, but kind of a mix of the two. If I was in town and looking for local gifts to take back to people at home, this would be a good start. You will find loads of art, but also some more knick-knacky stuff, accessories, etc. This location is an old Anthropoligie and it's quite big, so even though they have a lot of art and things here, it still feels pretty open and even sparse in a few places. But it's got that grassroots, homespun feel too, and that's perfect. Support those local artists and make it a success so it's packed to the gills with good stuff for years to come!

Love this place! I stop in anytime I'm in the area. You can always find something for anyone with their wide range of artists and mediums.

I was really surprised how much I enjoyed this gallery. I loved the diversity abd affordability of the art. I felt like these were all local artists deserving of support. Nice space, well organized.

Lots of hand made items, very cool and creative. It was awesome to look around and see how many talented people we have here in Salt Lake! I saw very beautiful painting, pictures, sculptures all made by local artists. A good place to support small businesses and have something very beautiful and unique in your home.

What a gallery wants to be when it refuses to be a stuffy old grownup :) Gorgeous interior full of passionate whimsy, wicked artful delight, and creative finery. No art snobbery here. This is art for the people! For the wild hearted and free!

I love the Urban Arts Gallery! I had the opportunity to participate in an exhibition there earlier this year. We flew out for the weekend just to move our piece in, and Scott was super helpful. There's a good mix of work, and it was nice to see that social commentary in art is alive and well in Utah. I don't make it to SLC often, but I'll definitely plan to stop by whenever I'm in town to check out what's new.

This is a cute, little place that showcases local artist and has some interesting pieces, but not too much selection worth the visit unless you're in the area to stop in. Prices were fair, but customer service was completely lacking. I wasn't greeted. I have no idea who even worked in the store and even tho I spent about 45 minutes browsing and had a few questions, no one approached me nor did I see anyone around to ask before leaving the store empty handed,

By far the coolest art museum I have yet to find in Salt Lake City! I haven't been to The Leonardo yet or the Utah Contemporary Museum Of Art but this one is free, super cool, and it's all locals art! There's all different styles from mixed media art to three dimensional and more. It is a great place to get local gifts from slc artists. Highly recommend buying art here and anything here. It is supported by the Utah art alliance which is a great organization. They support and are part of the Utah arts festival that happens every summer as well!

Neat little free gallery / giftshop in the Gateway Mall. They showcase perhaps a dozen artists, as well as carrying small gifts by other artists (jewelry, sculpture, print-Ts etc.) The space is big, open and light. Exhibits seem to rotate often. It's free. They have sticker vending machines with art by locals. Sizeable original art could be found in the $80-$500 range which I think is very reasonable. Prints are available for $15-$25 or so. A nice gallery and I'm sure to return to check out new exhibits. With that said, the following is art criticism and strictly my opinion / bitching: On my visit the art seemed very tired and route. It is the same stuff you'll see all summer long at the Farmer's Market. The "Urban" in Urban Arts Gallery seems to mean young and pop-culture worshipping. I counted seven different artists all doing some variation on Star Wars iconography. It would be cool if there were a statement or challenging idea in there, but it's all just dumb fan worship, mass culture appropriation catering to market demand. If Disney hadn't thrown enough millions at marketing the Star Wars juggernaut, now you can see it on museum walls. Frankly, the laziness of it astounds me. Look, a Stormtrooper! Yea, my three-year old loves em. Look, a naked chic in a Darth Vader mask! Wowee! Combines two of my favorite things! I LOVE ART! Again, my personal opinion and it doesn't stop me from enjoying the space. There are artists inside that go their own way (T-shirt sales be damned) and I respect em' for it.

First time here in Salt Lake City so since it was late afternoon yesterday when we arrived, I checked out art galleries. Urban was open until 8pm so we walked over. Great space and a nice diverse style of artists and pricing.

We held a private party at the Art Gallery and it was great experience! Andrew and his staff were super helpful, prompt and easy to work with. The space is really classy, open and bright. It really is a gem of a spot and a much more refined pick than any other place around. The ambience is set with the beautiful art pieces, the many windows and the high ceilings.

This is a great gallery with rotating artists with reasonably priced pieces. There's always new work to be seen. Love this gallery.
