"Drawing inspiration from American, Italian, and Asian cuisines, the menu caters to a broad swath of tastes. It’s a great spot for orderer tapas-style, with lots of small plates to share, or go all in on steaks, pasta, and seafood. Ask for assistance complimenting a dish with a wine from its extensive list of curated bottles." - Courtney E. Smith, Leslie Chatman

Google
Our overall experience was fantastic here. We came on a Friday around lunch time and ordered wine/apps. The bang bang shrimp was delicious; it was spicy, creamy, and delectably crispy. Their wine list was insane, so it looks like there’s something for every taste. Plus their cocktail menu looked rather long for the non-wine drinkers. The burgers and salads we saw walk by looked good as well. Will definitely be trying some of those on our next trip in. Great atmosphere and great service.

Google
Service and atmosphere were amazing. Had the filet mignon it was excellent just missing a little seasoning but it was almost there and still very very good. . My wife loved the halibut. We were really surprised as the service was amazing and the interior stylish (It doesn't look good from the outside).

Tiph S

Google
Great place, great service and food was very good! The bartenders were very helpful in letting me know what was safe to eat for Gluten free. Went there a couple times and both times was great. Will be going back for sure! I tried two different desserts and the mussels. Didn't get picture of mussels.

Jess Prada

Google
The place is really cute, specially the outside sitting. I ordered the fish and chips and I was disappointed. The fish and batter had no seasoning, very bland. My son got the pasta and it was bland as well. Maybe their cook doesn’t know the food has no seasoning. The pear 🍐 drink was really good!

Google
First time at Urban Grill and Wine Bar, and we loved it! Great food and great staff in a really nice space. We started with the bang bang shrimp, and it was delicious! It was crunchy and sweet with just the right amount of heat! My fiancé had the sea bass which was cooked perfectly over a yummy cauliflower puree. I had the seafood risotto with scallop, shrimp, and sea bass- it was really good! We shared the apple fritters for dessert. They were really good along with vanilla gelato and some Carmel sauce. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be back!

Google
The lamb was well seasoned, but one of the chops was a little tough. Our waitress had just started her shift, and we didn't see her much. We sat outside because the weather was absolutely beautiful.

Google
I came her for date night. The drinks (I tried grow a pear, and a tequila old fashion) were great, the lobster bisque was soooo good with a little spicy kick to it. And the seafood linguine was just okay in my opinion. i kind of wish i would have gotten something else. But the overall service and atmosphere was amazing. Our serve was Debra and we thought she was great.

David Hitchings

Google
I was told by the waiter that they had the best pork chop in town. I was extremely skeptical as he said even better than Perry’s, Bobs, Rick’s Chophouse. So I took my chances and ordered it. It came to the table served with a couple of thick slices of sweet potato and haricot verts served with a nutty topping. The chop was grilled perfectly and the waiter was right, I have eaten many chops and many very good, but this truly was the best chop I have ever eaten. My wife had the lettuce wraps and loved them. Ended the meal with an order of crème brûlée and it too was excellent!

Yelp
Great food, great service... The pork chop was amazing; highly recommends it. The s'mores old fashion is a must.

Yelp
It started off wonderful, prompt service and nice glasses of wine. We debated over the menu as its varied and my husband landed on the burger and me the ahi tuna app. The app had lots of tuna, but only six small wontons as a vessel to eat so had to ask for more. Quality of the ahi tuna was sub par. No flavor- like grocery store deli quality. Not worth the $22, more like $8 Husband has aversion to tomatoes so requested none on his burger. Guess what? The gal who dropped off the burger was really helpful and immediately took it back to the kitchen to be re-cooked. She then came back to let us know they were working on it as fast as possible, but that our server neglected to specify, no tomatoes on the burger. She promptly threw her under the bus and then replaced the burger which was dry and overcooked. Needless to say our original server must've known that she neglected to put that in and we were ignored for a while after that. We were ignored so long that by the time she came around, we were fed up and just got our check and left. Ambience was OK but seemed to be missing something, food not good at all and service was initially great and then fell short at the end. We may try again later, but they are missing good food.

Yelp
Very nice restaurant to visit for brunch, lunch, or dinner. The menu offers a good variety of food options...the portions are pretty big! The cocktail menu is worth trying. And the service is always great.

Yelp
We reserved for a birthday party of 7 for my adult son on the Sunday night before Christmas. We had a couple of appetizers, my favorite being the meatballs. My son and I shared the Surf & Turf, steak and lobster tail. It was excellent. We all had desserts. It was a perfect evening. Service, food and atmosphere were top-notch. I hope we get to go back soon.

Yelp
I do love downtown McKinney for its charm and boutique shopping. This restaurant makes the drive even more appealing. I started with the Urban Legend cocktail. It combined two of my favorites-cilantro and jalapeños so it was a win for me. I also love the names of the cocktails: Grow a New Pear, Ilegal Mezcal Old Fashioned, This lil Piggy. Funny! We tried the pei mussels-small but big flavor and served with good bread for sopping the plentiful sauce, and the Italian meatballs. The meatballs tasted like they were at the bottom of the pan and may have been a little scorched. My entree of risotto with seafood was absolutely devine. It came with a nice portion of sea bass and a perfectly seared scallop. (I'm still learning to like shrimp, so they subbed out a bigger portion of sea bass.) The risotto was made with their lobster bisque which fantastically elevated this dish. I could eat that risotto everyday. I finished my entire plate and it was a generous portion. My husband, meanwhile, was still hungry after finishing his entree of scallops with polenta. The 3 scallops were beautiful , but were served on a small portion of goat cheese polenta on a small rectangular plate. Honestly it looked like an appetizer. This entree was $39.00, which tbh, seemed overpriced even for an upscale place. We shared an espresso martini (very good) and warm apple fritters (not very good). Solid 4 for me.

Elwyn T.

Yelp
The grilled chicken sandwich is sooooo good and the service is amazing!! It is a little dark so it was hard to read the menu but it's a really nice spot, will definitely be back

Erin L.

Yelp
We came for the wine and stayed for the food! The Blackened Shrimp Caesar Salad was phenomenal. My friend had the Turkey Club and said it was fresh and delicious. We would come back in a heartbeat! Next time you are in McKinney check out this cute spot.

Rebecca B.

Yelp
Wow! First time eating here and not only was the food exceptional but our server was amazing!!! Erin greeted us right away, offered up some of the best dishes and waited on us like we were the only 2 people in the restaurant. She was a wonderful server. Thanks for making my experience awesome and next time I visit from S California, I'll be back!

Raven S P.

Yelp
From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that sets the perfect stage for a memorable meal. What truly sets this restaurant apart, though, is the incredible service. Our server, Steve W. was attentive, knowledgeable, and the enthusiasm for the food and drinks enhanced our experience SIGNIFICANTLY.

Kelsey R.

Yelp
S'mores Old Fashion $14 -4/5 Ilegal Mezcal Old Fashion $15-5/5 Australian Lamb Chop $21-5/5 Pan Seared Chilean Sea Bass MP- 5/5 Pork Chop with scallop's $33-3.7/5 Overall atmosphere- 5/5 Service- 5/5 Food- 4.8/5 The staff took us in 30 minutes before our reservations and gave us one of the larger tables, which was nice. We ordered a couple of alcoholic drinks and they were very good (drinks mentioned above). I would recommend the mezcal old fashion (I got two). Our lamb chop with a mini salad under it, which was our appetizer, came out excellent (medium/rare cooked recommendation). Now the sea bass...I ate the entire plate. Which I don't normally do. They cooked it perfectly, as well as the scallops they just melted in my mouth. Overall, I would come again and eat the same thing again. It was the perfect dining experience! 5/5

Deb P.

Yelp
Tried the place in a whim and wasn't disappointed. We had a couple of cocktails, beers, small plates and a burger. Everything tasted great. Service was pleasant, and recommendations were spot on, thank you Brady. Cocktails are always better with a flower garnish We definitely will put this little gem in our rotation.

Carmen P.

Yelp
Such a great find! An invite to Sunday Brunch to celebrate Mothers Day! A wonderful menu with something for everyone! The ambience was nice; some people enjoying wine, sharing gifts, etc. - and calm lighting. There were small families, groups, and couples too. ! I ordered urban Benedict; it was cooked to perfection with incredible hollandaise sauce as well as thick flavorful Blackforest ham.. so good! Their meatballs are top-notch; possibly the best I've ever tried! The service was great and the staff were super friendly We had made reservations, so there was no wait, definitely the way to go! This place should be on your list!

Helen W.

Yelp
Great ambiance, attentive bar tender, good service - recommend the Italian Meatballs, but would like to see upgrades to the cheese board. We enjoyed drinks and appetizers at the bar and will come back to try out dinner. Cheers!

J'Lyn N.

Yelp
Disappointing. This is our 3rd time, but our first time getting a table, we normally sit at the bar and it's always fantastic! We requested to sit outside and were told it would be about 30-45 min wait, and they would come get us at the bar. After over an hour the hostess came to ask if we still wanted a table. Once at our table it was obvious they had forgotten about us because the patio was almost empty at this point except 2 tables still seated. The table across from us was getting their check, and the server walked past us at least 3 times without acknowledging us. When she finally greeted us we ordered drinks and once getting the drinks we ordered the bang bang shrimp appetizer. While waiting for our appetizer a new server came up letting us know she was going to be our server now. The shrimp was delicious. I ordered the chicken artichoke pasta and it was good. My husband ordered the ribeye medium, but when he cut into it, it was completely raw. Just basically seared on each side and that was it. Our server noticed right away when she came to check on us and immediately took it back to the kitchen. It came back medium rare which was fine. Once he started eating he noticed how incredibly fatty it was, but at this point we just wanted to eat and leave. Our server took off the appetizer and we got a free dessert since we were celebrating our anniversary. It was really disappointing because we've always a great experience while there. Lexi gave such great service and was very attentive, but we probably won't go back.

Michelle T.

Yelp
Foods amazing, top notched service. Brenda was great very attentive and recommend the dishes were delicious. Ambiance was nice. I like the set up of the restaurant . Will definitely come back when I am In town again

Jessica C.

Yelp
Really cute spot in McKinney, our server was really sweet and food was 10/10. We got drinks at the bar while we waited for a table. They have a great wine list and the bartenders are very knowledgeable my bf said it was one of the best old fashions he had in a while. We started with the bang bang shrimp, perfectly sweet and spicy as well as the crab cake which was full of lump crab. My favorite is the Mediterranean chicken we also had the special seafood risotto, one of the best things I've tasted and the ribeye came out perfectly cooked, buttery and full of flavor. We were so full but our server insisted we try the chocolate poe de creme which was a super rich deconstructed dessert we literally licked the plate clean. Can't wait to go back they had lots of interesting items on the menu.

Paul-Angela V.

Yelp
We dine frequently and are always pleased with our meals. Last night, to celebrate my husbands 60th, we dined and were very disappointed. I decided to try the crab legs ($99) since the owners are from Cali and my husband as well, confident they know a good west coast seafood dish. There was 1 small piece of crab meat in each leg. I should have sent them back but I didn't. It was almost like they stripped the meat to place inside another meal. We have crab legs several times a year and have never had any like this.....It was not a $99 MP'd experience.

DOH D.

Yelp
I think the menu is too large to do everything well. It is too dark inside the main dining area. $9 for a 10 oz Tupps Juice Pack is ridiculous. May go back, have to think about it.

Kyle S.

Yelp
By far my wife and my favorite place to go in downtown McKinney for a nice date night. Food is always excellent and service is always on point. Drinks are carefully made and unique.

Sarah M.

Yelp
Phenomenal food and atmosphere. The king crab is our favorite! Each time we go we are treated with respect and so carefully cared for. We live 2 hours away and would drive just for the experience. I highly recommend.

Bethany P.

Yelp
Great food, ok service, but wish it wasn't so cold in there all of the time. Drinks are also great. Will definitely be back.

Icel C.

Yelp
Was able to get reservations for 7:30pm. Arrived 30 minutes early and were seated right away. The food had so much flavor! The beets that are with the crab cakes were exploding with flavor. Brussel sprouts were delicious. Sweet potato fries were good. The meatloaf was HUGE something to share. The service was excellent. Great ambiance and great dining experiences. The women's bathroom was very clean and appreciated the hygienic items.

Sarah L.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick dinner with some GFs. Cute place inside with fun craft cocktails. I ordered a chopped salad with grilled shrimp and it came out with chicken. No offers to bring the protein I ordered but joked "it tastes just like shrimp". Did get 5% off due to the error but didn't equal the price difference. Lots of choices in downtown area...

Chris C.

Yelp
If you are looking for fine dining at its finest, look no further! Professional service in a beautiful, rustic setting! The food was superb and the wine list is extensive! The pear mixed drink was phenomenal! Halibut was excellently cooked and the risotto was beyond reproach!

Venus C.

Yelp
A fellow Yelper and I met up for brunch. Urban Grill and Wine Bar is on the outskirts of downtown which was great for my anxiety! The brunch selection was limited so we both ordered from the regular menu. For cocktails, I chose the Bearded Berry and Grow a Pear. The Bearded Berry was my favorite of the two as it was sweet and fruity yet strong. The Grow a Pear was good but not as sweet. For my entree, I ordered the Urban Bang Bang Shrimp & Fish N Chips. I was a bit disappointed with the size of the fish n chips but, then again, it was on their appetizer menu. The shrimp were impressive in size and so delicious! It was definitely my favorite out of the two. Overall, good dining experience.

Nisha R.

Yelp
Met up with a fellow YELPER to try a new restaurant/wine bar. We were both off to a good start with our cocktail selections. I ordered a figgie smalls the name is so cute. The drink was refreshing and made to perfection. We settled into a booth that was comfy. The ambiance was rustic, dark and cozy. The staff was friendly. The food was tasty and the presentation was nice. The drinks were very good. The menu has a nice variety of options. FOOD: My pork chop was cooked perfectly. It was huge and each bite was delicious. The rooted roasted vegetables were healthy and different. I think I may like parsnip now. DRINKS: I tried a 2nd cocktail the Urban Legend and it was good. The figgie smalls cocktail was better. Overall I had a good experience and left happy, full and satisfied. If you're in the neighborhood they are worth checking out. I wasn't blown away, but I think everything was good. I wish they would have wine flights. That's the only thing that I didn't like.

Urooj S.

Yelp
My friend and I visited Urban grill on a slow Tuesday evening and sat on their covered outdoor patio. It was a gorgeous evening and the seating was very clean and nice. Our waitress mentioned she was new but she was so friendly and kind! We started with the calamari and crab legs. It was DELICIOUS. Very well seasoned and a lot of fresh flavor. The crab was a little expensive for the portion size but I believe it was market. We also got the seafood linguine which was decent, not my favorite. The pasta was a little mushy and overcooked. But the lamb chops were absolutely amazing. Very tender, great flavor and well made! Overall, I can't wait to visit again. Great quality food with deep flavors.

Sara I.

Yelp
What a great spot! The food and wine was amazing! Service was spot on! Thank you Erin for a great experience! We ordered the Terra Alpina Pinot Grigio on a beautiful afternoon on the patio. For starters we had the Ahi Tuna Tartare which was to die for. And for lunches we ordered Lettuce Wraps, Turkey Club Sandwich, and Roasted Beet Salad. We all tasted everything and loved everything! I don't think you could go wrong. I think next time I will order the Lettuce Wraps! The flavors were unreal. We for got to take pictures of the rest but here is the wine and the Tartare!

Parris T.

Yelp
Update/another time - Always a good date night! We both tried the specials! Hubby got the seafood risotto... he cleaned the plate! I had the salmon over asparagus. Very light and delicious! Both dishes pair well with a white wine!

Ryan H.

Yelp
This was such a good place in McKinney, right off the main square, amazing service. Our service person was Riley. Top Notch. She knew the menu and specials from top to bottom. It was Mothers Day, and she is a mother and worked the entire day! as well as the entire staff. Great job, team. Will, definitely recommend.

Polina T.

Yelp
What a pleasant surprise ! I've noticed this spot so many times while getting my morning coffee in McKinney, and we finally made it in for dinner last night . I think it's going to become a regular date night place for us . We started off with their mussels, which were delicious (though I didn't know they came with bacon and my bf and I don't eat bacon ) - we picked off the bacon but you could definitely taste the smoke of it in the sauce . For main plates, I got their special which was a lobster bisque risotto ( and devoured it ) and my bf got the surf and turf which was very delicious as well. The cocktails were tasty and gave a good buzz. The service overall was pretty good too . We will be back :)

Donna G.

Yelp
Excellent service and delicious food. Everything about dinner last night on all four diners was fabulous. They have the best wedge salad in town (and further afield too). I had the Mediterranean chicken with couscous last and it was moist and delicious and just the right size portion. The lamb chop serving looked massive but my rotten friend did not let me taste it, he gobbled it up say I'd say that was a win. The lobster bisque risotto was served hot and perfectly cooked. I am a risotto fan so that's high accolade...

Chris W.

Yelp
Urban Grill in downtown McKinney offers a delightful dining experience with its exposed brick interior and a touch of upscale ambiance. The atmosphere leans towards an ideal date spot, given the limited presence of families. The convenience of reservations adds to the appeal. The crabcake appetizer sets a delicious tone, and the fettuccine Bolognese and salmon dishes were nothing short of amazing. We've revisited multiple times, consistently receiving excellent service. Highly recommend this eatery for a memorable culinary experience.

Caaysabella L.

Yelp
We chose to sat in the patio which was really nice. The manager came to us and offer the heater which we politely declined. Brandy was our server and she is so nice.. she gave us recommendations and of course who knows better, but her:) the food were great, the place I didn't get to glance more inside but my 7yo it's cool inside mom! Said. Upon reaching home, my husband realized his wallet was missing. I called the place the following day and they had kept it for us... Couldn't be happier more!

Tom Y.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. The good was delicious and seasoned just perfectly. Our server took great care of us in a cheerful manner. I look forward to dining here again.

Kathryn W.

Yelp
My new favorite restaurant in downtown McKinney. Quiet booth so conversations were intimate. Absolutely delicious meal tonight- started with the burrata with pistachio and roasted tomatoes, then the grilled asparagus followed by the seafood risotto with sea bass, shrimp and scallops. Every morsel was perfect. Our waiter Adam was just the right amount of attentive. Highly recommend and will be back again soon. Don't hesitate to plan an evening here you won't be disappointed.

Cynthia B.

Yelp
Wonderful food, our waitress, I wish I'd gotten her name she was excellent and very accommodating to the children in the party. She made suggestions that we couldn't turn down, and those suggestions were spot on. The bass was cooked perfectly, as was my scallops. The lamb chops my son in law didn't share, but he ate them all and didn't complain, so I can only imagine they were spot on. I look forward to going back.

Walter N.

Yelp
Good spot for a casual date night or dinner with family. Ideal for a chilled celebration. Price point is good, not an arm & leg but the service is really what they do well. The food was average but you come here if you have an occasion to celebrate and not for a great food experience.

Jayme B.

Yelp
For our monthly brunch, we chose Urban Grill in Downtown McKinney. I came to Yelp to do my normal pre-brunch detective work. There was nothing regarding the brunch. There are 4 brunch items - and that's about how many tables there were of people. So here I am to make sure everyone knows it's worth hitting up for brunch! There were 3 people so we had 3 of the 4 items. Pot Roast Hash - she gave this a 5/5. Delicious. The Benedict - also a 5/5. She loved the hollandaise and that it wasn't drowning in it. I had the breakfast bowl - 3/5. I'm gluten free so I knew I could eat this, sans toast. It's not 3 because it's bad - it's just basics. No difficulty here. But it was yummy. Those potatoes though... they are 4.5/5 on their own. The blood Mary mix has gluten in it but the bartender knew that so I skipped it. Coffee -which I drink black - was really good!

Karis J.

Yelp
We love downtown McK but had never been here before. Fun atmosphere. Food was wonderful! So good and huge portions. We both had pasta dishes and loved them! Service is slow, pack your patience. But the servers were kind and friendly. Restaurant was packed.

april l.

Yelp
Not a lot of lunch priced options but food was very good. I think this is more of a dinner type place. Nice cozy atmosphere. Friendly server.

Oyinade A.

Yelp
My fiancé has asked me a million times if I have reviewed Nicoletta (our server). This is how much we loved this place and her service! Thank you! This was our dinner spot while exploring downtown McKinney and we ABSOLUTELY loved it! When we got in, we were put at a small table. We really wanted a booth because we tend to order quite a bit of food and then share everything. Unfortunately, there were no booths available. We were torn on what to order. We had other stops for the night, so we didn't want to over eat here, but we also didn't want to miss out on stuff. We decided we were going to go with 2 appetizers and 3 entrees. Nicoletta was great in helping us decide the best combination, since we wanted everything on the menu. It's crazy because she's new-ish, but already very knowledgeable of the menu. She mentioned a trainer, so kudos to whoever trained her too! For appetizers, we ordered: - Bang bang shrimp - soooo good!!! - Lamb chops - also really good! I wish we had ordered a meal size as the appetizer! Haha! For our entree, we got (in the order in which we ate them): - the seafood special (it was some kinda halibut). It was SO good! Omg! They should leave that on the menu - the seafood linguine - I wish they had been more generous with the seafood in it. It wasn't a heavy pasta. I would have preferred more flavor, but it was a nice in-between for our two other entrees which were bursting with flavor. My fiancé enjoyed it. - the pork chop - oh my! This was delicious!!! At this point, I was already stuffed from all the food we got. But, this was delicious. A sweet way to end dinner. We also got cocktails. We didn't get dessert (we had plans to get dessert and more drinks at our next spot of the night). The bill was low. I kept telling my fiancé that the food here was better than some of the more expensive places we visit! We will def be back! In fact, I want to go back now!!!

Melissa C.

Yelp
We recently went to Urban Grill in downtown McKinney. BF said the lamb chops were delicious, my seafood dish was, as well. We shared a chocolate mousse for dessert that was very yummy. (The only downside was, the parking situation in downtown. I doubt we will go back based on that alone. There were parking spots fairly close by, but they were clearly marked for towing. The business was closed. Everyone was afraid to park there, those businesses need to pull their signs or mark them as during hours of operation, as an act of kindness. Also, there is minimal handicapped parking, which very much makes it a no go for more people than you might guess.)

Ozzy B.

Yelp
We had dinner at 6:30 and had a table in the front. The service was very slow, extremely slow. Bread would've been good, no bread though. We had to fight flies and sun was in our eyes the whole meal. The light fixtures were caked in dust which was falling in the food. The food was very good but took a long time. This was our first visit. Prices were high and for the service and unsanitary conditions we probably won't be back.

Shawna G.

Yelp
Their food is excellent. We enjoy their salads. Their pasta dishes are enough to share. Pork-chop dish was delicious. Service is always excellent. Ambiance is nice but too dark at times.

Carol G.

Yelp
A repeat dining at the Urban Grill was very disappointing. We went for the PEI Mussels and they were about the size of the tip of my pinkie. The beet salad was very good but the name lead me to believe there would be more than two 11/2 inch tiny squares of beets The cheese balls were delicious and the salad had more cheese balls than beets The service was outstanding and the ambiance and noise level conducive for a lovely dining experience

Heidi M.

Yelp
Made another visit to Urban Grill tonight and unfortunately more than disappointed. Mainly food - seafood risotto was quite bland, again. Must be a different chef. The filet did not look like a filet cut, well undercooked and sent back still was not a good filet cut of meat. Just disappointing overall.

Jerry K.

Yelp
Okay, we came here thinking they were part of the Urban restaurants in Plano and were corrected that they are unrelated. Food was really good. I had some Ahi with a salad that hit the spot perfectly.
