What a beautiful home run by two lovely people! The oasis name really sums it up. Despite the popular Krog location, with the surrounding greenery, one side of the home being cupped by a hill, and the private fence, the stay was remarkably quiet and serene. I loved looking into the verdant garden from the beautiful big windows.
We stayed here for a concert at the Variety Playhouse and were amazed by how easy it was to get back afterward. Since it was late at night and the way back went through neighborhoods, there was almost no traffic.
I had some work to do on Saturday and enjoyed being serenaded by the gentle tweets of the parakeets and the occasional chatter from the parrot, Echo. If you don't like birds or dogs, this is not the stay for you, but we love both so we enjoyed the animal company! We also liked the simple continental breakfast. Hard-boiled eggs, fruit, toast, and good coffee makes the perfect breakfast in my opinion.
Staying here really felt like having a home in the city to return to. We stayed in a downstairs bedroom. It was comfortable and had everything we needed. The bathroom we used had a big shower and the sink, while small, had just enough room for my makeup supplies. I wasn't sure what they would have there, so just a note (because other reviews didn't mention this), simple soap and shampoo were provided. We had everything we needed.
I highly recommend staying here if you like animals and want a relaxing experience, especially if you want to explore the local area! It's a lovely home and the hosts have made it a very comfortable place to stay.
