"Shop Therapy on Glasgow’s Style Mile If shopping’s your bag, make a bee-line for Glasgow’s “Style Mile,” where the concentration of shops here (some 200) makes it the UK’s largest retail center outside London . The choices include everything from massive department-store emporiums like Debenham’s and House of Fraser (which has been in Glasgow for over 160 years), to boutique kiltmaker’s shops to swanky bath-and-beauty outlets like Space NK. If you’re homesick for American brands, you’ll find plenty of those here, too—including Gap, Nike, and Urban Outfitters. I visited this store and was met with exceptional service from the staff. I was browsing the store in search of a birthday present for my boyfriend. The male manager working in the menswear section was so helpful and helped me pick out a shirt and his current favourite record. Would definitely recommend this store. Only negative is long till queue!

Visited this store today and had a lovely experience. The store’s interior is stunning and overall a very clean , well stocked store. Staff lovely, helping with size checks and a manager was very helpful when I was having issues with till. All the staff have lovely style and very cool also! Pity about these negative reviews below, clearly many people don’t respect what retail staff have to go through day to day with the general public. If you can be anything, be kind😊

Beware of the guy with the long hair so rude and dismissive. Absolutely shocking customer service completely ignores you and continues to stand showing coworkers something on his phone . I won’t be back and I’m upset about it as I liked this shop but been completely put off

This store is distinguished by many casual models that satisfy all ages, especially teenagers. I visited it today and it is currently on sale. I bought my daughter a leather jacket, unfortunately it was not included in the sale 😂. Its prices are good for the quality of the parts it have. 👍🏻

Had a lovely experience in Urban Outfitters today and was able to find everything I wanted. Tyra? Was very helpful and assisted me when I was shopping today! Couldn’t thank her enough!

The store staff was extremely rude. I saw that some clothes had fallen, so I kindly helped to hang them back up. However, after I left, the clothes fell again. The staff ran over and accused me of knocking them all down. I then hung them up again, but despite my good intentions, I was unfairly blamed. I will never come back again. Please properly train your staff.

I went into Urban today and the girl serving me was so helpful I think her name was Tyra? She was on ground floor today. She helped me find a piece I found on the app and helped me style the piece too!

I called into store today to pick up my online delivery and the member of staff helping me was sooo kind! He also helped me find a cardigan i saw on tiktok in store & a skirt that would match it for my holidays next week. Overall a really pleasant shopping experience. Really happy with my purchases 😊

Yelp
I haven't been in here for a long time, and I'm sure the last time I visited they didn't have an upstairs? Anyway, I remembered it as a good place for off-beat gifts and knick-knacks with a select choice of funky clothing, but now they seem to have expanded the clothing lines considerably with two floors of hip goodies. I didn't have enough time to browse as I was on a particular mission this day (which was not fulfilled here), and anyway I'm way too old to wear most of the cool stuff they sell; but I've definitely bookmarked them for a return visit when I have more time to browse.

Yelp
This UO store is completely different from it's Edinburgh counterpart. That store has lots of concrete and brick decorations and has a nasty, cold and dark feeling, especially when you get towards the back. But this store however is warm and bright with chic wooden panelling and bikes attached to the ceiling on the top floor. The ground floor pays host to all the crap that you want but really don't need. This includes strange books, a shopping bag shaped like a crocodile, Unicorn Poops (a very cheap looking foreign candy which is just marshmallows with glitter sparkles) and some quirky decorations for your room. The first and second floors are the clothing areas. The first floor (the biggest floor) has been given entirely to the women and us men get the second floor, which is bigger than the ground floor but is about half the size of the first floor. I always look at some of the clothing but nothing ever appeals to me. There was a plain white t shirt with the words "I Am Rich" printed on it. They were charging £57 just for that! So expensive! While I wouldn't normally shop here, you can use it to buy novelty birthday gifts for your friends and family. For clothing however you wouldn't catch me in here. I would be either in H&M, Primark or New Look.

Yelp
Urban Outfitters is a bit of fun - even more so when they're having a sale! I popped in a while back when it was sale time and there was so much I wanted to buy... I managed to resist though. The reason I'm giving this place 4 stars is because I've always been impressed by the service. I was once in to buy touchscreen-gloves and the guy told me just to go to Poundland and save myself £10. I really appreciated that - I mean, sure they lost a sale but I saved money and it was great customer service. I like the random shiz they sell here. You can find some really weird/hilarious/kind of offensive stuff and it makes for good gifts for your pals. I think of it as a bit of a upmarket novelty shop. I have to admit I don't go here to shop for clothes, I just look at the accessories so I can't really comment on that. I have purchased quite a few bits of cheapo jewellery over the years and it's all lasted pretty well. All up, I'm a UO fan and it's one of the few shops on Buchanan St I will tend to stop in when I go past.

Yelp
Seen as quite a cutting edge brand, Urban Outfitters presence is good for the city and it's a place I'll often pop into, but I sometimes feel it's appeal is down to clever marketing of it's "modern retro" ethos rather than the quality of the goods. Clothes-wise it's pretty hit and miss. I don't buy as much stuff here as I used to but a space invaders jumper I got literally almost a decade ago still makes the occasional appearance on my back, as does a G-Star track top which I'll assume they don't still sell since the brand has become a bit neddy. My most recent purchase was an initially cracking t-shirt with the Back To The Future DeLorean on it, which despite costing £28 fell apart quite quickly and is now only worn to bed, making it a bit of a letdown. It's still always worth a look though, and despite it's incredibly contrived coolness I don't find it half as irritating as Topman / Topshop, and the gadget / homeware section on the bottom floor is always a good way to while away ten minutes when waiting on a train.

Yelp
I don't know why I bother even going into this chain. The clothes are extremely enticing but far too expensive for my budget. You see, Urban Outfitters only stocks cool designer stuff. If money is an issue, Primark is five minutes away on Argyle Street. The bottom level of this store is dedicated to fashionable books, ornaments and cards.

Yelp
Not a cheap shop. It is full of funky goodness that you wont get anywhere else though including crazy gadgets and stuff to make your kitchen a bit sexier. It's ideal for birthday presents or making small additions to your place to make nights in more bearable. My most recent purchase was a packed lunch box that looks like a cheeseburger. I took great pleasure buying a burger and putting it inside it then showing people I had a burger in my burger. Some people liked the idea, others did not. You just cant win with some people thesedays.

Yelp
If I could spend all my student loan in one shop, Urban Outfitters would get my vote. I love the tops, and the skirts, and the dresses, and the shoes, and the bags, and the necklaces, and the... everything! ugh! Everytime I go in, there's always something screaming "BUY ME!" from the shelves, whether it's a new purse or the latest dress. Unfortunately though, prices are high, so high in fact, with my student loan by itself, I'd probably only be able to buy a dress and some shoes. If I was lucky. They also have hilarious gifts, stationery, and homewares (old style telephones, comedy mugs, condiment gun, inflatable wigs...you know, usual sort of things found in modern, stylish homes...). Not to mention the 'adult humour' section. Ha! But, the question that is begging to be answered is: is it really worth going hungry for a week because, I need a housephone shaped like a cheesburger? Computer says yes.

Yelp
As contrived as it is, Urban Outfitters is ever so cool and must be run by some of the hippest and smartest business-folks out there. It is absolutely manufactured for those of my generation, specialising in retro gadgets, books and toys on a whole floor full of lovely and wacky things to fill your home with, if your purse permits. Young hipsters are drawn in and mesmerised by the pretty things all around and the most banging music blasting from the speakers above, that is conveniently displayed for listeners to buy. Although it is often incredibly pricey, Urban Outfitters is one of the coolest shops in town, with a great range of designer apparel and cute and quirky pieces. However, one thing I've noticed is that a lot of their stuff is very of vintage style and you could probably pick up a similar and genuine vintage piece at a fraction of the price from any number of charity or vintage shops.

Yelp
I always love walking in to this shop with my boyfriend just to hear him say 'what is this noise?!?' in reference to the music they play. He's not on the bandwagon of what's hip and in as far as music is concerned (which is A-OK with me!) but he does love him some Urban Outfitter sales. Really, the only time I'm in this shop is when I'm with him, or when I'm shopping for him. This most recent venture in, they were having a sale. My boyfriend, it seems has some expensive tastes, as everything he wanted, even on sale, made me miss not having a year round full time job to fund such want of things. Alas, he has the money to spend, but this time, walked out empty handed. Such is life. This shop is for the hip and trendy, or for people like us who like certain brands that they sell. The staff are all snotty kids working for minimum wage, looking to pass the time over the summer. In essence, not the friendliest people. I do love the building its in, and the fact that you have to climb loads of stairs to look at the merch. If anything, I get a mini workout everytime i visit.

Yelp
This place is more of a statement than a shop... " oh, where did you get that shirt?..Urban Outfitters you say? Wow do you have too much disposable income...still living at home are we??" Ok so some of the gear is quite funky, however it quickly becomes not nearly funky enough when you check out the ridiculously over the top price tag attached to it. Now there will be some folk in Glasgow who are pretty much dressed by Urban outfitters, indeed, whenever i pass this place the mannequins tend to look like every student in this damn city....is this cool? is looking just like every other person cool? Well let me ask you this.....are sheep cool or just daft mindless creatures that follow the heard even if that is down a cliff?? Let that one sink in for a bit.

Yelp
Being from the States I really didn't think it was worth a bother to stop into Urban Outfitters. But then one of my friends said they carry different stuff in the stores in the UK, so thought I'd check it out. Turns out, she was right. First of all, I'm sure I got a bit ripped off since I suck at doing the dollar-pound conversion in my head. Oh well. I found some really awesome dresses and tshirts while I was there, including a Morrissey shirt I've never seen anywhere else. Also, unlike the States, the store in Glasgow carries a nice selection of Fred Perry, Penguin, and Lyle & Scott men's clothes.

Yelp
Across the pond I am never out of Urban Outfitters as they have a great range of cool clothing for a very good price. I think someone put a decimal in the wrong place when it came to the dollar to pound converstion! The place is really expensive. And fair enough it is good gear you're getting but it puts the vast majority of products way out of my price range. Everything I have bought from this chain has been of the best quality though and all of it is still used and loved. A very good shop to pick up little extra presents for people as well. I got a nice purce and scarf here as a stocking filler that went down a treat and the little gadget / home section downstairs is full of little thing that make you say "I want that" until you realise you don't need it. A good way to pass the time though, and if you have the money, a very good place to spend it.

Lorna M.

Yelp
Love coming here for a browse. Very rarely do I spend any money. Very quirky shop with a fabulous lay out. I always feel a bit old and uncool for this shop. Even in my student days, when I felt somewhat "cooler". Good for inspiration though. But evidently, not good for my inner coolness factor

Yelp
I love love love Urban Outfitters and the store in Glasgow consists of three levels of unadulterated shabby chic joy! The ground floor is packed with household items which you will never ever need but will still lust after and this floor is great for picking up gifts for those annoying friends who have everything! The first floor is ladieswear and I am like a kid in a candy store here! Where do you start? A little Vivienne Westwood anyone? No? See by Chloe then? PPQ? DELICIOUS! Unfortunately the designer clobber is a little out of my income bracket but there are still plenty of other brands to drool over. There are lots of lovely brands which you would be hard pressed to find anywhere else which are priced a little more modestly! The one thing all these brands have in common though is a sort of hand made, crafty feel about them. Everything looks quite unique and individual. The third floor is menwear and is definately worth a look for the ladies as well if your into the "wearing my boyfriends" clothes look. The staff all look effortlessly cool in a kind of, is that a guy or a girl way? Also they are fantastic help if your having a fashion crisis and need some advise.

Yelp
Urban Outfitters. Hmmmph . I would happily have all their clothes in my wardrobe and house-hold goods in my flat, but I can't help but feel angry at how over-priced this shop is. It's like Mr/Mrs Urban Outfitters has thought that the more expensive the shop is, the more desirable their products would be. Fashion-hungry people will fall into their overdrafts at the sake of buying the latest trends.... In this store you'll find tops for £50 and necklaces for £20. I wouldn't mind so much if the quality was better, but it doesn't fare higher than their neighbours on the high street. Because of this angst, I've come to a compromise. I now only shop in Urban Outfitters when there's a sale on. Because what Urban Outfitters does well, is have a sale. It's like their way of apologising for ripping you off for the rest of the year.

Yelp
I always feel slightly inadequate every time I visit Urban Outfitters. You see I am not cool. And this shop caters to the cool. My jeans are accidentally ripped, not intentionally ripped in a rock style that is so trendy these days. Or not. Maybe it was trendy last year. I am completely out of my depth talking about such matters. Personally I do not understand why any male would pay the money Urban Outfitters charges just to clothe themselves but, I have to reiterate, I am not fashionable. At all. And that's why I will never be a fan of this place.

S T.

Yelp
It is contrived and it is a bit too cool for school, but I always find myself drawn to Urban when out shopping. The clothes look good on a certain type of people, who are generally skinny and pale, but the meatier amongst us can get the odd t-shirt and cool pair of pumps from here, not to mention the range of home wares and jewellery. I had my beadys on a cuckoo clock for a tenner in here but they have never had the colour I want in stock here, and I've been looking for about 4 or 5 months. Don't get me wrong, I love a browse, but a lot of the stuff you could easily get cheaper elsewhere. I lovvvved a t-shirt from here for ages but at £25, I couldn't justify paying it at all. I had to wait till my birthday so my wonderful man could buy it for me as a gift. It's a good place to shop if, like I said, you are a skinny indie type kid and you have plenty of dough, of which I am neither.

Yelp
Even though Urban Outfitters is ridiculously pricey and over-hyped, I can't help but be one of those to perpetuate the stereotype that it's actually great. Sorry, everyone! It's another one of those American stores that takes a dollar price label and slaps a pound sign on top; making it 1.5 to 2x more expensive to purchase in the UK. Despite all of this, they have some gorgeous pieces and great vintage styles that are a bit more cutting edge and a lot more original than the likes of Topshop. There's also the added bonus that, despite being located in the middle of Buchanan street, the likelihood of meeting someone who's wearing the same Urban Outfitters ensemble is decidedly slim. I especially like their selection of print t-shirts and other oddly-cut tops, because although thtey're a bit more expensive, Topshop is homing in on them price-wise and I much prefer this stuff over theirs. They also have some "2 for £whatever" offers from time-to-time, which is always good. The homewares and gifts section is pretty huge, and great for buying birthday presents, gag gifts, and some funky things for around the home. Usually not the kind of thing you'd buy for yoruself, but they tend to have some great photo frames and interesting ashtrays, if you're into that sort of thing. Overall, not gonna lie, this review is as over-hyped as the shop itself. I can't help but love it!

Yelp
A great shop if you can afford it! Urban Outfitters sells trendy and designer labels as well as wee gifts and off the wall gadgets, alongside eclectic books and CDs. Men's clothing is located on the top floor, and they stock labels such as Penguin, Pringle, Carhartt and Lyle & Scott. Sale time is usually good with some impressive discounts on offer. For such a big store selling famous brands, the store layout, vibe and staff seem down to earth enough for the avergae shopper to not be intimidated and feel comfortable.

Susan F.

Yelp
I am a fan of this store, although it is rather overpriced and a bit pretentious. The staff are mostly friendly, some who think they are "too cool for school" The clothes are a bit different than the usual Topshop/Topman gear but I try to wait until items are in the sale! :)
google avatar

Jenny L.

Yelp
Urban Outfitters used to be my favourite shop ever, and if you stayed away from most of the 'labels' it wasn't too expensive. Plus the sale was amazing. But something's happened in the last 18 months or so, the clothes have gotten more expensive, the sale more rubbish and the things are - dare I say it? A bit generic. I dont think this is the fault of Urban Outfitters, it has pretty much stayed the same, just added an extra tenner on everything. What has happened is, the rest of the high street has caught up. You can get the brogues, fancy tights, big cardigans and tea dresses from H&M, New Look, Zara and Primark. You can buy twice as much, or afford a night out wearing your brand new clothes if you go elsewhere. It's not as though I can argue quality as they are just the same as other stores, and I've had to mend as many clothes from here as I have for anywhere else, and its still costume jewellery. Yes its all very nice but do your purse a favour and get the same stuff from a cheaper high street option.

Yelp
I am in love with Urban Outfitters! This great store is set over multiple levels, which means lots and lots of great stuff!

Qype User (drgroh…)

Yelp
Urban Outfitters stock several high end brands of clothing along with a music and homeware section. This is more a place for students who have their overdraft to use or people looking for the odd trendy thing for their flat. A large amount of the homeware can be found cheaper online at places such as Amazon. Best to visit occasionally to check on their reductions - most lower brands will be discounted at sometime or another.

Yelp
Go to Urban Outfitters and you will find a lot more than overpriced knick-knacks (although you will find them as well). I fear some people might pass this store by thinking it is only for young uns with more money than sense, but in reality it has a great range of clothes for young and not so young, as well as lots of cool accessories, books, music and so on. It is especially good for something different, and for putting lots of different looks together, as well as great individual presents, and at a greater variety of presents than you might think. Try it and I am sure you will find something to delight you!

Qype User (anthon…)

Yelp
surprisingly good stockits of leftfield type genre music
