Urban Plates

This place is interesting, I thought it was restaurant style, where a server waits on you and takes your order. It's not, You order your food and pay before you sit down. Then, a server will bring out your dishes. The food options are all mostly gluten free, vegan. Think of clean eating. I ordered the chimichurri grass fed steak with mash potatoes and the house salad, and to drink, I got their watermelon pineapple aqua Fresca. Wait time for our food was less than 5 minutes, but also when we ordered there weren't many people. We ate around 6 pm. The rush of ppl happened around 7-8pm. The food was good, but nothing I'd rave about to others to try. I think it's great for the prices and if you want to eat out with a large group as everyone can order and pay their own plate before hand and enjoy it all together at one large table with out trying to figure out how to split the bill. Price point, pretty reasonable, but still on the $$ side. I believe my plate was 18 +tax and the drink was $4 and change(refills are available). It's fast food style (in how you order) but restaurant appearance. In total, with a plate and drink, it came out to 28. it's a little on the pricer side (which I think they can pull off because it's on lake and menu item options are gluten / vegan/ grass fed mumbo jumbo. Friendly staff all around, great atmosphere, indoor dining, and outside patio. Also, if you give a review on Yelp and show a worker, they'll give you a free cookie. Parking is either paid street parking, but I think after 6pm your fine. There's tons of free parking after 6 behind the walgreens (shoppers lane) or in the Macy's/ trader joes lot. (Which is where I parked), and then I just crossed the street. Again, we went on a Tuesday, so parking was pretty easy to find. I'm sure during the weekend it's madness.

One of my staple, go-to restaurants for consistent, delicious, healthy meals. I have eaten here hundreds of times and they always deliver great food. One mistake I see people make often is not getting the Plate Pass. Unless you are eating here one time alone, GET THE PLATE PASS. It pays for itself in 2 entrees. I have seen people go out in groups of 10+ and could have saved $30+ if one of them got the Plate Pass. Overall though a really great, affordable restaurant that offers amazing quality and healthy food

Urban Plates is one of the better American chains out there serving up healthy plates and giving the customer flexibility in building their own meal right before them. I came by on a Saturday evening and it was fortunately not super packed. You first place your order before getting a number and finding a table. Luckily, their menu has clearly marked vegan items which is fantastic. I went with their Chili Glazed Grilled Tofu Bowl ($12) with a slice of rustic bread. The tofu was grilled nicely and was coated with a sweet and tangy sauce. The bowl includes a side of quinoa and asparagus, two of my favorite accompaniments to a meal. The interior was also very relaxing and nice, making a good spot for dinner. Parking is available in a private shared lot. First hour is free with validation.

Ashley and the person that greeted us, Javier, were very polite and helpful. We don’t come here often but when we do, it’s always pleasant! The food is served warm (not hot) but it’s still delicious. We had the chimichurri steak plate and braised beef & mushrooms🍄‍🟫🥩. I tried the chipotle & herb marble potatoes for the first time and they were so flavorful 🌿🥔 ‼️FYI- They changed the ordering layout to now you order at the counter first and take a number to your dining table. 🧽 The walls in the dining area could be cleaned a bit better.

My family and I really enjoyed our meals. I had the steak chimmichuri with Mac & cheese, red beets with goat cheese and rustic bread. My family had BBQ pork ribs, Mac& cheese with balsamic brussel sprouts, french fries & rustic bread. The food was fresh, delicious & enormous. The steak and ribs were both fork tender. Atmosphere was relaxed casual place. For $62 dollars, 2 adults and 1 ravenous 3 yr old ateand dinner. My new favorite place to eat. Highly recommended. Our cashier Abraham S. was very efficient, polite, knowledgeable & patient we us.

The greeter, Parker, was extremely helpful, courteous, friendly and nice. I will definitely come again! Not only is the food variety amazing and healthy- but it tastes great and fresh!!

I ended up making back-to-back visits to Urban Plates during one of my busiest work weekends to date, needing a quick but satisfying meal between gigs. My first visit was inspired by the insane amount of positive google reviews. I ordered the steak plate (rare) and it took about 10 minutes that proved to be well worth the wait. I left a paltry trip and felt bad and also needed coffee, so I ordered an iced coffee so I could leave a better tip. The coffee was marvelous! The second visit I brought a friend and he loved it, too! I ordered the chicken Caesar salad but got the cobb salad and wasn't the least bit mad about it: quite an upgrade when I got my cesar dressing and the chicken was SPECTACULAR. Special shouts out to Manager Mike (who went out of his way to get my iced coffee my first visit), Javier (couldn't have been sweeter), Uma, and Ashley!

Tried Urban Plates in Pasadena for the first time. Amazing location 👌. Service was okay. Food was definitely delicious. Shrimp kabob had an excellent parmesean twist. It was succulent off the stick. Steak was okay; not spectacular but the chicken had exquisite taste. Outside seating is an experience in itself as there a fireside flare. Great job Pasadena.
