Urban Skillet Uptown

Very disappointed with the chicken sandwich. It was so thin and not well seasoned. The staff member also seemed uninterested in recommending what we should get.

I have been to Urban Skillet multiple times. I recently took my son and daughter there for dinner. It was my sons 23rd birthday. I had the the Original Skillet Burger. My son got the barbecue wings. I would highly recommend trying them out. The food was SPECTACULAR 5 STARS!!!

Good food, generous portions, nice staff. For all the people saying "5 Guys is right next door" - 5 Guys does not use halal meat while Urban Skillet does. Thats the key difference, also Urban Skillet is way more flavorful.

If I could give 6 stars, I would! My fiancee and I woke up a little late and decided to stop by for a late lunch, as I had seen this location was highly rated. We happened in between rushes and the team were all lovely, especially the younger man who seemed to be in charge. I was slightly apprehensive about trying mushrooms on my chicken sandwich, but it was amazing! My fiancee loved his burger as well and our fries where great too. The team went above and beyond to make sure our stop by went well. Every table was cleaned, the trash was empty, every single item was stocked, we LOVED our time here! The young man, mentioned above, even went out of his way to tell us about Urban Skillet’s past and about his experiences in this specific store (since we had never been here before). I absolutely will come back to this location and general brand after how great my experience was here!

I got the lemon pepper wings, dry bone wings, and spicy Korean BBQ wings. Wings were fresh and crispy. I recommend the Lemon Pepper wings (dry rub) and the Spicy Korean BBQ wings. They offer burgers and chicken sandwiches as well, but didn't get a chance to try them this time around.

The lemon pepper wings here were hot, tasty, and reasonable priced! The rest of their menu looked very appetizing as well. I have to say the service here left much to be desired, as it has on both occasions I’ve been here. I did not find staff to be very welcoming, friendly, or hospitable. On one occasion, despite placing an order before the party who ordered after me and being told I could expect a 15 minute wait for my 6 wings, I received my food well after the large group and nearly 30 minutes later. I got the sense that my customer satisfaction was not a priority. Moreover, the dining area was not clean. I see the lack of friendly service and uncleaned tables for what they often are: symptoms of a woefully understaffed restaurant and underpaid workers. I don’t like leaving negative reviews but am interested in seeing restaurants improve and giving a fair assessment based on my experience. I don’t expect to be back.

Great place if you are looking for a bigger and fries joint. Staff is always super friendly and if you don’t know what to order or need help understanding the menu they are good at explaining and giving suggestions. I have yet to order something here I did not like. The wings can take 10-15 min to order but are worth it, all flavors are good. Loaded fries are amazing, definitely suggest if you’re not getting a burger with fries. I really like that the meat is halal. Only reason I didn’t give atmosphere 5 stars is bathrooms can be dirty but welcome to uptown.

1st time visiting. Reviews are pretty accurate, definitely should’ve went to 5guys next door. Everything is ala Carté, cashier customer service is Mid, the guy making the fries was bussin it out tho. They forgot my regular order of fries when I tried calling 3 times nobody answered. Forgot to take a picture of the food, but I got the original burger & halal bacon cheese burger. Both were ok, lacking flavor. Best thing was the brisket fries. I got a kids Mac and cheese for my toddler , he ate it so it must’ve been good 😅 I feel like first impressions are important and for the price, taste & overall experience it’s ok.

I love their buffalo chicken fries; so gooood! I tried one of their burgers and wasn't really a big fan. Definitely want to try out more on their menu. There was a long wait but because we waited so long they gave us one vanilla milkshake which was thoughtful. Definitely coming back again.

The owner Abien (sorry if I misspelled it) was such a delight! After seeing my whole team approach the counter to order, she offered to give 10% (a free drink) to everyone. What a generous offer! She was so pleasant and swee The food was good. Service was great -- fast, friendly, and efficient.

Finding this location was very easy, but I'm confident I won't need to find it again. The set up when walking in is sort of awkward, with high walls which seem to block kitchen and grill area. There appear to be a lot of menu items, but the prices seem to be a bit higher than I would have expected. I got a burger and fries; the burger was a big disappointment, but at least the french fries were good. I suppose it's hard to go wrong when you use a bag from the grocery store. After ordering my food, I waited in the seating area, which was a bit dirty and unkept. The floors were a bit greasy and needed a good mopping. given the price and quality of the food, I don't think I would return or recommend.

Had high hopes for this place but my burger was dry and the bun was falling apart. The sweet potato fries were amazing though and the best thing I ate!!

Took over 25 minutes to get our food and the place wasn't even busy. They didn't have several things listed on the menu. Staff was unfriendly. Food was mediocre at best and overly priced for the quality. Overall, I wouldn't waste your money or your time.

Really good halal sandwich! A little bit messy to eat if you try urban monster since it's huge! But totally worth it.

We stopped in after months of anticipation and we were left a little bummed. I ordered the original skillet burger and my BF ordered the brisket sandwich. We split a order of curly fries. The fries order was HUGE! We couldn't even finish half of them between both of us. They taste just like arbys and personally I am a fan. The brisket sandwich was disappointing. Both of the buns were crumbling apart which made it challenging to keep hold of the sandwich. I wanted to love my burger but discovered that the cheese for sure was definitely ruining it. It was bad! The cheese-less bites were good but the cheese for sure ruins it further. My BF had the same cheese on his sandwich and noted that the cheese was making it worse as well. The interior where you sat and bathroom had a mildew smell as well which made me question the sanitation of this place.

SO GOOD. Ordered via doordash which doesn't have their complete menu. Tried the original and the truffle burger. Truffle burger was more just a standard burger with mushrooms, not a lot if any truffle sauce going on but still tasty! An option for just regular fries would be nice, but the American fries with special sauce and cheese was DE-LISH. My friend had the original. Perfectly cooked, melty cheese, fresh bun, and knowing its halal/no risk of pork contamination made it all the better!

Staff was friendly but the food was bad. You will get better quality food at five guys next door. It's sad because I was excited to support a local small business. It seems like the google reviews are botted and possibly some on here too. My friend and I chose to eat here because we saw it had 4.5 stars. We should have read the reviews first, because it seems like people who have ACTUALLY eaten here agree that it sucked. Photos of food posted don't look like the real thing. Everything we ordered seems like it came from Costco. All I can say is the mark up was incredible and they must be rolling in cash from suckers like us. Won't be coming back EVER, big waste of money.

You're better off going next door to five guys. Our first time here, we came in and walked to the register - cashier didnt greet us or ask us "what can i get for you" he gave us a blank stare and waited for us to tell him what we wanted. We ordered the smack and cheese burger, oh so hot burger & loaded tots which ran us almost $40. Once we finished ordering, we sat and waited quite a long time for our food to come out, which i dont think shouldve taken as long as it did considering we were the only ones dining in at the time. When our food came out it looked nothing like the photos advertised. burgers were subpar at best, lacked flavor, bun was dry & the presentation of the burgers didnt live up to my expectations. loaded tots were NOT WORTH $7.99. Serving size was small, & the melted american cheese solidified quickly. The only thing that sorta makes the loaded tots better were the caramelized onions. After eating this meal we were still hungry & disappointed, so we walked next door to five guys.

Service was great and the fries were superb! I would definitely make the trip back to order them! The burgers we ordered (Original Skillet and Blazin Blazin), unfortunately, was nothing spectacular or unique, I felt you could go to any burger joint and order one that would taste the same or even better. The milkshake was tasty but, again, nothing to set it apart from others. I tried ordering a few other items on their menu but the cashier let me know they were either out of it or they'd just added it to their menu so I was not able to order it. I definitely will be taking another visit to try their new items (ex. Sambusa). Location was perfectly located with only 4 dine in parking spots and the rest are 30 mins - more for pickup orders I would assume. Street parking is available. Inside of the restaurant was very modern and cozy, loved the painted mural! Overall, a pretty nice spot to stop in if you want a quick bite~

I was super excited to try this place since they have Halal standards for their food. Unfortunately, my experience of my in-store order didn't go that well. It's been 45 minutes and I still haven't gotten my food. I'd ask for a refund but everyone is frantic running around trying to get things done. Not exactly the way I envisioned spending my night. I hope the food is good. It's now 7:15. Now the angry customers are taking attention away from getting my order done. It should be noted that the food is not made fresh. They pull the meat out of a bin and reheat it on the grill. There's really no sense of urgency to get the orders out. One of the cooks walked outside with an order leaving one guy to do all the kitchen work. This place is not ready for prime time. So, it took them an hour to get my burger to me. The excuse the owner made was that the online orders are overwhelming. The burger tastes as you would expect by the way it's prepared. It tastes reheated and covered with an OK tasting sauce.

Ambiance: 8/10. Extremely clutch that they have a parking lot in this area and the interior of the restaurant was very pleasing and neatly arranged, besides the random books above the fireplace which we found hilarious. Service: 8/10. Staff were great and helpful despite being clearly short handed and tired. I did however end up waiting 15+ min for fries because the limited amount of staff were too busy to realize they were ready for me. Food: 6/10. I appreciate that there's finally a halal establishment in the area but the food was nowhere near the hype we saw on TikTok. The burgers and fries were bland and it didn't help that the buns were stale. The cheese and sauces on our food were carrying so hard but even they were too mid to save the dish. The food honestly wasn't terrible, it just tasted like something you can put together at home. I'd definitely revisit if I was in the area and hungry, but I wouldn't go out of my way. All in, 7/10 experience.

Wasted almost 30 bucks for poor quality food. Brisket fries had unmelted craft cheese slices on it, nor were the fries crispy Buffalo wings had barely any sauce

Great food, the burgers and fries are amazing! Did I mention the portions ... big. Beyond the food, the service was top notch. Highly recommend this place.

Food is not worth the price. I had the chicken sandwich and it was really dry. Could barely taste the sauce. I spent $20 for a meal that was worth maybe $5. I highly don't recommend this place.

The best burgers, very tasty and HUGE. Eleven bucks for a great burger. The staff was amazing and very friendly. Highly recommend this place. WISH they were closer to home.Original Skillet Burger.

So I decided to try this restaurant after coming across a tik tok video of this exact restaurant but let me tell you the video was a complete lie I've never been more disappointed in my life. So what was wrong? Just about everything..I walk in and being a cook I look into the cooking area and the very first thing I noticed was pre cooked burgers...strike one but I still order anyway because I really want to try this place . So I order the Urban fries, an Urban burger, The chicken sandwich and my niece ordered the Buffalo Chicken fries and an order of the plain fries after the food arrives we give it a taste and it was all down hill from there. The Urban burger was as dry as a powder house with a much too sweet sauce and cold cheese, The urban fries were a good attempt but fell way short maybe if my fries were fresh and not pre cooked it may have been better but I doubt it since it again used that too sweet sauce from the urban burgwr. The chicken sandwich wasn't bad but it wasn't good either again if it was fresh it probably would have been good. The buffalo chicken fries was this places.saving grace because its the only thing keeping me from saying this place is terrible it needs a bit more chicken and for that chicken to have some crunch but the flavors were spot on. Long story short is would I go outta my way to come here...No but would I eat here if I were in the area...probably not being as they are right next door to Five Guys and I know there my food would be hot and fresh. Oh I also paid 45.00 bucks for all the food I mentioned earlier... Yeah I'm still.mad i wasted that money lol.

I really enjoyed this place. Wide variety of items. Burgers are great. Wings are fantastic. Shakes are great. I would highly recommend. Best of all, it is Halal.

If I could rate it 0 I would.. the staff can't read the ticket and messed up my burger two times, excluding what I paid extra for. Not very friendly and will never be here again.. the burger was terrible as well.

Its hard to find a halal restaurant offering good burgers and fast food options,urban skillet is definitely one of the best options for halal chicken and beef fast food .

If I could give 1 star I would just order off DoorDash food was absolutely disgusting took two bites and that's was it horrific experience putting me and my girlfriend off burgers for a long time

Decided to try out this place from a friend recommendation. The Mushroom Burger was bland and the Oh So Hot Burger wasn't spicy at all. The slice of cheese on the burger wasn't melted as I'd imagine it would be if it was on the grill. The Buffalo Chicken Fries was pretty decent. I would recommend to try this place at least once, but I wouldn't make my way to come here again unfortunately.

Places is amazing. I've had all the fries and Buffalo chicken fries are amazing and the wings also! I eat here 3/4 times a week . I'll have to say though the food is high quality but if you guys burn chicken don't serve it to people! Or your gonna loose your loyal customers spending $100+ every week besides that it's very good and cheap!!

Lied about the wait time, waited over an hour for one item, and when I asked about I was yelled at by an employee.

Wow this place is amazing!!! The burgers are so good and the house sauce is a real treat! The manager stopped out and gave us a sample of whipped ice and it was heaven. They even have a parking lot which is a real perk in that area.

very long wait for only being the last person to doordash. i've waiting a good 30+ minutes and there's been other doordash/grub hub workers that got here 5-10 minutes after me and they got theirs, the efficiency about this place is terrible. the wait time is way too long for something simple. terrible.
