My husband and I had a wonderful time at the terrarium bar!! We worked with Victoria and she was super informative, helpful and fun to work with! We each built a terrarium and were super happy with them. She taught us each step as well as what to do at home to take care of our terrariuma.

Google
We had an amazing day spending it at your store not only did we walk away with a gorgeous terrarium we were able to explore different creative ways learned about different plants. Staff was very helpful and helped not only pick things out, but helped with the actual display of the objects, I would recommend this to anyone. I think it would be a great idea for a date or maybe just a girls day out thank you so much for hosting us. I will recommend you many many times.

Cool plants and plant accessories. Knowledgeable staff, they even have a clinic to diagnose your wilted plant or board it while you're traveling.

Came here for a bonsai making class with my company and had a great time. If you’re a plant person like me, you’ll have a blast! The instructors were kind, supportive, and provided exceptional guidance. The shop is lovely!

My experience with this store has been phenomenal. Virginia was extremely helpful in finding the right plant for me and educating me on proper care, and they cemented my five-star rating on my return trip a week later. I had concerns about my plant, so I went back in to get some advice. Josiah dropped everything when I walked in so he could answer my lengthy questions and make certain I was confident in my new knowledge. These people have given me a safe and inspiring place to indulge in my new hobby, and I'm very grateful.

Urban sprout has to be the coolest store I’ve ever been to! You’ll find so many different types of houseplants and unique trinkets to browse. The staff is so patient and knowledgeable about all things plants. I always feel so empowered in my houseplant journey after a visit to the store!

The store has everything I ever thought of. The best is the plant clinic at the back of the store. Employees were all very friendly and informative. It's definitely going to be my go-to plant store.

Google
Stunning store with attentive employees who are willing to provide recommendations, tips, and all sorts of advice to aid your gardening. I am so in loved with the design of this store, it’s absolutely stunning. It provides a glimpse into a new world almost and I really suggest just coming here regardless if you are looking for plants or not! Plants were also relatively cheap too considering the magnificent quality. They have some rarer sprouts here and there as well! Truly a must check if you are looking for a specific breed of some sort. Love this place, mwah! No complaints!

Yelp
I took my girlfriend here for her birthday and we had a really great time making a Terrarium. We were walked through the whole process and we learned a lot, the staff member helping us was great and super engaging. Would recommend! My only gripe was that it was a bit pricey - a vase that had a $30 tag (probably meant to be removed before we got to it) ended up costing $90 and I didn't realize until after we left. After the $40 reservation fee, the total was about $300 - But it was worth it for a great experience and birthday gift.

Yelp
My daughter and I had fun creating our terrarium. The employees are very knowledgeable and made good suggestions for creating a fun and healthy terrarium. I love the terrarium, but I experienced some sticker shock when I checked out. I wish the 11 little plants I used had been $5 rather than $15 each. Plan to spend ~$300 for a decent sized terrarium including the vessel.

Hiker N.

Yelp
Excellent customer service. I'm not a plant person but I had been gifted a special hanging plant holder that needed a plant. Virginia was VERY patient and had several good ideas for various looks. As I considered my options, I witnessed Virginia and another employee serve several very different customers gracefully and knowledgeably.

Yelp
We went to Urban Sprouts for a reserved party for their Terrarium building experience. I was wary about terrarium building being very much fun, but overall I'd call it an enjoyable experience. I have quite a few thoughts and some advice to those looking to try it out though. - The website does not accurately portray the prices at all. It states it'll range between $15-300. That's a huge range to begin with, so I was skeptical, but was hoping there was just expensive add-ons. Here's the issue; the vessels themselves mostly cost around $50. There's a few real small ones sitting around $25, but that doesn't leave a lot of space to build. My advice; bring your own. You can go to Goodwill or someplace before this and save so much money. We saw others with home-brought containers like a coffee pot. - The process was great, having someone to walk through it, explain what and why, then giving the care instructions is great. - If you're still worried about money, make sure to pick out succulents, they're cheaper than the jungle-plants options. Another money saver is to go with someone. You can split some of the pretty rock tubes, the packs of moss, if there's multiple plants in a container, etc. Since we went as a party, whenever we had extras, we'd pass them around.

Yelp
I took 2 plants, one was growing out and over the pot the other needed support because it had grown tall very quickly. The larger one came home full of gnats. They said it's because they use organic soil. After speaking with an expert, the soil is bad, probably damp for to long, and should be thrown out. I have attempted to get rid of the gnats, following their instructions and they are getting worse. The smaller plant is almost dead. Another issue, they offered complimentary delivery and then charged me. I had to ask twice for it to be refunded. The larger plant doesn't look healthy, branches are dying. I am so disappointed to have taken to the professional, paid over $200, and rather than healthy plants I have gnats, dying plants and told this is "normal". I'm attaching 2 photos of other plants I have that are healthy to show it's not me.

Hattie W.

Yelp
I don't know how many times I have been in the shop just in theblast month, but I love the experience EVERY SINGLE TIME. I was able drop off my Monstera to the clinic and have her rehabilitated, repotted a d she looks great. The staff are phenomenal, informative and truly always feels like stopping by to see friends. The quality of plants is amazing I highly recommend a trip to Urban Sprouts. You won't regret it.

Yelp
Top knowledge in keeping indoor plants healthy and a beautiful selection of well-tended greenery to take home.

Apria H.

Yelp
I'm so sad to write this because the staff is beautiful and the plants are amazing I originally bought my plant from this shop and it started with 5 leaves and I raised it for two years (which grew into all the beautiful leaves in the video down below). Three months ago I took it to this plant nursery to get only a moss pole installed but they gave me a diagnosis to change the soil and get a bigger pot and ever since then my plant went downhill dying all the way to this one leaf (picture shown). I saw other reviews as well talking about The gnats which is so true don't change your soil here or your plant will get infested with gnats. What can be done about this I'm honestly very upset.

Yelp
The best plant and gift shop around. Definitely worth the trip to Renton. Book the Terrarium Bar for an informative and fun interactive day date!

Yelp
I love coming into Urban Sprouts! The store has a variety of thriving green friends, pots, fertilizer, rocks, decor, cards for all occasions, cute tote bags, and much more. They also offer assistance to help care for your plant. I personally enjoy the stickers and little signs you can stick in your plants that have cute little messages on them. I do appreciate the layout of the store and how everything is set up. It's vibrant and spacious. The staff is very friendly and asks if you need any assistance. I enjoy coming back here due to the friendly staff and the products that they carry. Mind you, they are in the heart of downtown Renton, so there will be street parking. So, whether you're already a plant parent or a newbie like me, Urban Sprouts will be able to steer you in the right direction.

Yelp
I saw Urban in Sprouts on Evening and immediately went to their website to set up an appointment for help with my plants. My toxic trait is that I think I have a green thumb. As hard as I try to be a plant mom, all of my plants are either thirsty or waterlogged or need something that I'm not giving them. By late fall the situation had gotten dire. Brought a BUNCH of plants in on a rainy Sunday afternoon. They were so nice about helping us carry everything into the store from the curb. Courtney explained everything we needed to do to take care of each plant. She diagnosed issues, saved what she could (which was a lot more than I thought she'd be able to), and transplanted everything into new containers that we picked out. My snake plant no longer looks confused. My aloe and Christmas cactus are bouncing back. My angel wing begonia has new growth! My succulents and new cacti are thriving and look adorbs together in their large pot. After providing everything Courtney needed to get the job done, we left and had lunch at Pho Asia, then stopped for coffee at Boon Boona on the way back. Everything I had picked out in my basket and left at the front counter was already wrapped and the plants were ready to go by the time we returned. Now, it wasn't cheap. You pay for the pots, soil, additions such as gravel, etc., of course. And I was a bit surprised to see that additional charges had been added to the appointment (for repotting) because I had no idea there was a reporting fee, as I paid for an appointment time. (Which I have no problem with, but was unaware that there would be charges for repotting.) But would I do it again? Yes, with the caveat that charges would be explained beforehand. If you're concerned about this, ask beforehand before spending literally hundreds of dollars. I'd also like more time to ask questions about my plants, although I will say that Courtney said to call any time with questions. That part of the appointment seemed rushed, and we did not receive written suggestions or names of some of the products that were recommended to us, such as a humidifier for our plants. You can spend A LOT of money here. They have the "Genius Bar" of plants, classes, DIY terrariums, pots, plants, gifts... they can even drill a hole if your pot needs one for $5. The pots seem to be marked up... a lot. In all, I recommend their services and love the ambience and selection of gifts and plants.

Maki S.

Yelp
Like others, we wandered in after coffee at Boon Boona next door. We enjoyed the ambiance of decor which had been carefully thought out. To my surprise, they also have lovely crystals of different sizes for a reasonable price range. I told myself, and anyone in the vicinity I had enough, and bought 2 anyway. The staff are very knowledgeable and though we didn't buy any plants, yet, they gave good recommendations for when we are ready to. We'll definitely go back !

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place, but in my experience, it's just okay. Overall, I would recommend making a visit if you're in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here and prefer other nurseries. Pros: - Really cute shop with a chic, boutique vibe - They offer a variety of fun classes--perfect date spot for a plant lover - Great selection and plenty of hard to find indoor plants! Cons: - Good luck with parking. It's in downtown Renton and with the current construction, it's a nightmare to get to. - Plants are overpriced. - Most of the plants were in good shape, but a lot of the ones I wanted looked really rough. Considering the higher prices, it's really difficult to justify the plant quality.

Yelp
I have always loved coming down to Urban Sprouts for cacti babies. However recently, i havent so much enjoyed this place anymore. I have had some of my mine for about 2 years and they are living and growing healthy lives as they should be. Coming back to visit recently, i have noticed some spiders crawling around the plants. It isnt just the succulents and cacti either. There have been other plants that do not look healthy as well. Thankfully there are a bit of substitutes for you to get. Staff is friendly. However, there are times i have gone where they seem to be annoyed that youre even asking them a question. When you do sign up to be a member, you can earn points for discounts on your future plant baby. You also get a business card with a phone number where you can reach out to the owner for any plant questions. Overall, they have sadly turned my interest to a different direction. It is a cute and hip store but better care is first needed.

Jboogie L.

Yelp
Nice shop with green goods. I saw money plant selling for $24.99 when other places are $8.99. They offer classes. I didn't see string of pearls though. Pothos was $14.99. I liked the low and wide circular planters which were $24.99.

Yelp
If you are not a plant person, this place gets a little overwhelming. The staff is friendly and helpful but you will want to go in here knowing your spaces you want to put your plants and the light that space gets. I walked around this place for several minutes before asking for help. There were all kinds of plants everywhere with a large pot selection as well. That does not mean no one asked me if they could help me, it means I needed to look for myself first. Not being a plant person myself and this being the first time we were going to buy plants for our new place, of course I was just going on appearance. Once I knew what was around the store, I inquired for one of them to help me choose a plant I liked the look of and one that would do well in our space. Once you pick out your plants and pots, they plant them for you. I chose two very pretty white pots. Once thing about them was they did not have a drainage hole and I think that is what ultimately lead to my watering issues. Even though they instructed me on how to water and how much, our plant seemed like it was not getting enough water or getting too much water at times. To be specific, I ended up with a dieffenbachia and a snake plant. Let me tell you, the dieffenbachia, even though I was told would be not hard to take care of, was a challenge. The dieffenbachia looks pretty but figuring out how much water to give it and the right amount of light was not as easy for me as they made it seem. Our dieffenbachia lost some of it's leaves and has had gnats but is in a good place now and growing new leaves. That probably speaks more about me than the store but my advice is to just be knowledgeable about the plant before actually getting it. Don't copy me and do a spur of the moment thing.

Yelp
I love their 'plant dating service' - you talk a little about yourself and what you're looking for and they match you with a plant. Needless to say, one of the best 'matches' I've ever made ;-). I now have many plants from Urban Sprouts, took a few containers in to get 'filled' as well and then took a cutting and asked for help - and they do that too! It's a beautiful attitude adjusting place - candles too. And I love to just go there to go there - and yes, always end up leaving with a new green friend!

Yelp
I went to this shop because it was recommended by a colleague of mine. I read the reviews and it was mixed good and bad but thought I would give it a try. I had 2 succulents one I was told wasn't savable and the other one could be. Picked out two other small ones and had them potted and it cost roughly $28 and that is without the booking fee of $20. Brought the plants home and did exactly what they said. In less than 2 weeks one of the plants looked like it wasn't going to make it. Text them through Instagram with pictures and they said I could bring it in. Took it in on a Thursday and employees said it looked like it could be saved. On Monday I hadn't heard from them so I text to find out if they had a chance to look at it. After a little bit I got a text to my phone stating that the plant wasn't viable. I asked why when I was told it should be. I was told that mine was just reviewed on Monday. When asked why so long I was told other patrons plants were worse off then mine was and theirs took priority. I ask how much it was going to cost and was told $25.00. I went in to pick up the plant and said I thought that was a little high price since my issue wasn't reviewed right away and they said that was there price I said considering we only had the plant 14 days shouldn't it last longer and they said it just depends on it's environment. They didn't off a discount on putting another plant in its place or anything. They said the cost was on their website. My thing is when I brought it in it would have been nice to be reminded what it was going to cost. Also since it had only been 14 days I felt the plant should have lasted longer. Considering this was only the 2nd time I had been there. They is no pricing hanging up in the store either as a reminder. I am sure the regulars know the prices. I have posted a picture of the plant. It is the zebra looking one that is leaning. I won't go back as I found a better shop in Tacoma. I am so won't recommend anyone to this one either.

Yelp
Hidden gem in Downtown Renton, it's easy to walk right by but once you're in, it's like a whole world of greenery goodness. I only knew about this place because I posted on my story asking what local business should I go support to get a plant for my Oddish pot that my client 3D printed for me and Urban Sprouts was one of the most recommended one. I didn't had a chance to browse around because I was on a mission to just get in and out, but it seems bigger than the few corky shops that I've been to in Seattle plus it's easier to find parking around too, even with construction going on since Downtown Renton isn't too hectic. A true Seattle hipster dream here. Great for gifts too since there seem to be a lot of plant moms these days, I guess Seattle is getting way too expensive for raising a family that we resort to plants. Tell me about your experience if you've been here or is going to after reading this review:)

Yelp
Came in yesterday for some indoor plants. Very knowledgeable staff and such a cute shop!! Loved the atmosphere! Only complaint is that I walked around for about 10 minutes with no one asking me if I needed assistance (which I did need help). I had to track down an employee. Who ended up being very helpful! I will be back for sure! I highly recommend at least checking them out!

Jen M.

Yelp
All this time going to coffee next door I never knew I was walking by this place! Gorgeous plants, pots and decor abound in here. And the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Just talking with one for a few minutes, I realized why so many of my plants die so fast on me (oops) or why some thrive when I put egg shells on them... lol. So many beautiful plants in here though - it was a bit intimidating to choose one, especially with the price point and knowing my track record with plants - so I am still deciding. I didn't feel any pressure to buy or judgement for not knowing what I was doing. I was inspired to learn more and perhaps to give becoming a plant mom a try again though.

Yelp
Absolutely lovely plant shop conveniently located in downtown Renton. I browse the window displays frequently as I wait for my coffee and I've always appreciated the rotating selection of some very fascinating plants. Several weeks ago I read an article in the WSJ about the rare plant market and *surprise* the Urban Sprouts purchaser was interviewed! As a serial plant killer I know I have no business actually buying anything, but knowing that they have some rare stuff made me want to go in to see. Last weekend I got up late...which meant Urban Sprouts was open! This store is absolutely gorgeous and bursting with green all over the place! I was surprised to see they have a pretty sizable collection of jewelry, which I just loved. A lot of it was very small and simple -- the perfect type of jewelry to have a subtle flash while out in your nice dress. Huge variety of plants, including water plants and air plants. There's also a good selection of containers that allow you to build your own arrangement. My favourite part of the whole thing was all of the adorable lamp work figurines that you can buy to create a little styled terrarium. A big part of me wanted to just randomly buy a bunch of them! Am I responsible enough to not kill an air plant? You'd like to think the answer is yes, but I'm not too sure. I'll definitely will be back to browse around this fantastic shop, and it just might get me on the plant wagon, even if they're just a few air plants!

Wendy K.

Yelp
I used to go to this store when it was located in Ballard. Picked up my online order today that I placed yesterday. Staff is friendly and the store definitely looks a lot bigger onside than it does from the outside. The person I've been dealing with on Instagram was friendly assuming it's the owner of the shop. Looking forward to paying a visit when I have more time to actually take my time and look around the shop more. If you're a plant lover in South Seattle definitely a place worth checking out!

Allison T.

Yelp
I've bought a lot of plants from them and any time they repot it, they die. Their soil is often infested with fungus gnats, and my most recent plant from them wasn't repotted yet and spread fungus gnats. Also hella overpriced.

Michelle R.

Yelp
The cutest plant shop (and more) that I've ever been to!! The vibe is very welcoming, calming, and low key. There is tons of plant stuff to check out & they are happy to answer questions and provide tips for plant people and non-plant people alike. They also carry candles, jewelry, and other bits & bobs. I bought a gift card for a friend, and we signed up for one of their classes - soap making. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!! The instructor gave us all the supplies, offered suggestions, kept it very casual and brought wine. We made 6 different soaps with Shea or goats milk and we're able to add things like oatmeal, strawberry seeds, loofa, orange, essential oils, etc. We were able to customize each bar to our liking while having a relaxing evening. Stop in - you will not be disappointed!

Mizani J.

Yelp
I randomly decided to go in because my best friend suggested it. She loved the aesthetic inside the nursery and loved the fact that they had a rewards program, so I decided to go in. When I walked in, nobody spoke to me. Though I was one of two customers in the shop, the first time I spoke to an employee was when I checked out. I've honestly had better customer service at Lowe's in the garden department. They have a great selection of plants, pots and other accessories like crystals, smudge sticks, and cute little wood pieces with quotes you can stick in the dirt of your pot (see my pictures), however their plants are incredibly overpriced. Compared to plant shops in West Seattle and Seattle neighborhoods like Capital Hill, the price of their plants are $5-$10+ more, excluding any discounts offered. I don't see myself shopping here often. I'll likely be sticking to my friends at the Plant Shop in Seattle and the Plant Store in West Seattle.

Emily Z.

Yelp
Cute store with a wide selection of plants and pots! Plus, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I would definitely come here again. I made my own terrarium, which was a really fun experience. I was guided every step of the way, from picking a container in a preferred price range (low, medium, or high) to learning why terrariums are great for certain environments to arranging the plants. However, they were not overbearing at all; I got plenty of time and space to choose the plants I wanted and attempt to plant them, only getting help when I really needed it. It was a great balance between independent exploration and educational guidance. I also got a zebra cactus in a geometric faded blue pot, because the plant was too adorable to pass up and the pot was such a fun design! The staff informed me which sized pots would work with the plant, how to take care of it, and kindly potted it for me. This place is pretty pricey though, because these two items cost about $100. However, it was definitely a wonderful experience!

J. C.

Yelp
Houseplant prices are outrageous here! Everything I saw today was super expensive. I have no idea why this place even has any good reviews. Why would anyone want to pay such high prices? They are double the price online or even higher... A small birkin for $39.99; a tiny hoya krimson queen $19.99..... Keep in mind this shop is in Renton, not in Mahanttan.

Nikki D.

Yelp
Went to check out some local plant spots after our move. They have a great selection and are well stocked. The sad part is they're crazy over-prized. Small light Moss polls that you could easily make yourself are priced for $25-40. 4-6" starter plants ranging from $30-40 as well. Sadly I couldn't justify that price so I walked away with nothing :( 2 starts for available selections but that is is..

Lori P.

Yelp
This place is definitely good browsing, and the people who work here are knowledgeable and friendly. But I make sure I know what plant I want, and how much I would expect to pay for it before I bought anything on a whim from here. Because they are considerably higher than I feel is reasonable. I DID recently buy a beautiful Marble Pothos here for $15...but it wasnt because that's what is a fair price...we bonded and I "had" to. The next week, I bought a considerably larger hanging marble pothos for $20 at McClendons down the street. However, I WAS able to get a reliably N'joy pothos here, also for $15. Which IS a good enough price for that variety, in my mind. While this store does have "some" collector/rare plants, they're the less trendy, and also over-priced.

Sandra N.

Yelp
A pretty place for sure- but they're SO expensive. Their small plants are atleast 30% more and the same species as a regular store ex Home Depot/ Lowe's succulents. Even larger margins on bigger plants. I shop a ton of plant stores and I thought Seattle's quaint shops were expensive but this one is right up there. Yet they're in Renton.. so I can't see the pricing purely justifying rent. I love how cute this place is but I would never recommend it when the price point is so much higher for the same succulent plants. Not rare, not variegated.. just pricy.

Kelsey J.

Yelp
I waited to post this in the hopes that my plants were just having a setback from urban sprouts repotting them, but unfortunately they've all gone to houseplant heaven.. I live in an apartment so it's not the easiest thing in the world to repot a large majesty Palm, a growing monstera and the few other plants I wanted to repot. I made my appointment and all was fine until I brought my plants in. ALL of my plants were in their original plastic containers.. the same ones they came in 6+ months ago. Now mind you, none of my plants had any issues. I was worried about one possibly having root rot but they advised me that my home care was actually really good and to keep up the great work. There were two girls who helped me, one was super sweet and kind of timid and the other I believe was named Courtney. Courtney seemed to think her shit didn't stink, either that or she's just an unfriendly human that lacks customer service skills ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ... she recommended I pot all my Plants in ceramic only because "they won't last hardly another month" if I left them in plastic containers. (But???. They been in plastic containers this whole time ?? didn't you just compliment my homecare???????? But I digress. The pots that they sell are RIDICULOUSLY expensive. Like stupid expensive. The size of my palm obviously needed a larger pot, it was root bound. So, they said I had enough time to run to the hardware store to find some that were adequately sized because there was no chance in hell im Paying $120 for JUST A POT. Once the plants were re potted and time to pickup, I physically could not move them on my own. Two people couldn't even lift these plants on their own. They needed a dolly to bring my palm out, which I guess shame on me for not thinking that one through but seriously? I can't move my plant to water it properly, my home is carpeted. What happens to plants that aren't watered as often? They dry out. The owner of this store wrote a book I received as a gift when I first started my houseplant journey a few years back, they recommended rocks be placed at the bottom to provide better drainage... every plant died from root rot that I had re potted using this technique. Unbeknownst to me, I scheduled for a repot appointment. Had I known, I would have ran for the hills. Fast forward 4.5 months, ALL 5 OF MY PLANTS URBAN SPROUTS REPOTTED HAVE DIED FROM ROOT ROT. My watering schedule lessened due to the weather changing, but all five of them died? From the same thing? It's no coincidence. And the icing on top of the cake? to have a large palm, a medium monstera and 3 small plants repotted came out to $300. THREE. HUNDRED. DOLLARS. I paid them to kill my plant babies.. As I watch the last frond of my once luscious palm wilt over from its soggy trunk, I just can't help but kick myself.. Never will I EVER have someone else do something I should have just rolled up my sleeves and done myself :'(

Yelp
What a great store and excellent customer service! I walked in an instantly felt surrounded by so much natural beauty. The selection of plants include air plants, marimo moss balls, succulents, cacti, house plants and several other varieties. They have terrarium classes and propagation stations. You can also purchase really fun plant face masks, very pretty jewelry, pins, candles, cards and stickers. This is a one-stop shopping destination for gifts for yourself of someone you know. Go support this amazing local business!

Namhee L.

Yelp
Beautiful plant store. Dropped in after Boon Boona Coffee and so glad I did. Once you step in, everything draws you in. Beautiful selections, quality + variety of plants is excellent, lovely crystals/stones and more. Every section has something you want. I wish I could have this entire store in my home. The indoor plant selection is so much wider than I thought and their crystal selection is even bigger! I didn't realize they had SO many pretty, gleaming unique stones. This store oozes relaxation, calmness and beauty. They also carry air plants, pots, jewelry, etc--the list goes on. Talking about this place doesn't do it justice, it's a must see. This place makes you feel serene. Will be back to add to my plant babies and crystal collection!

Yelp
If you are ok with getting ripped off than this is the place for you! I took my daughters because they have been wanting to design a terrarium. They tried to charge me for helping my 8 year old but I was very outspoken about it and they waived the table fee. My daughters both picked a basic glass jar that could have been purchased at the $1 store, two tiny plants and a couple small items for each terrarium. My total was $190! The plants both died within a month.

Yelp
I'm all for supporting small businesses, but I was extremely disappointed by my last few visits at Urban Sprouts. The majority of their inventory is priced incredibly high, even with their more common plants like pothos, philos. I was shocked to see dilapidated venus fly traps going for $20... for a 2IN POT! Even the cheapest single-leaf cuttings on their prop wall will set you back about $10-15 each. I wish I could support this shop more, but unfortunately the prices don't match with the quality.

Yelp
As a Renton resident, I'm super happy to have a store like Urban Sprouts in my town. I recently stopped by shortly after eating dinner in downtown Renton a few weeks ago. I was impressed the moment I walked in. So many beautiful plants and tons of other homemade goods like cards and soaps. I was surprised at the selection of beautiful homemade soaps on display, and I couldn't resist buying one of the Finchberry soaps. (Do yourself a favor and smell these - they are heavenly!) Mirroring other reviews, this place is pricey. 1 bar of homemade soap was $9. I can't remember the exact price of the plants, but I remember thinking "You want how much?!" However, I would imagine that if you love succulents and other house plants, then Urban Sprouts is THE place. Urban Sprouts offers weekend classes each month that range from terrarium building to soapmaking and I can't wait to try them out. I think the average price per class is $40. Again, not cheap, but would be a fun experience. Downtown Renton is a charming community, so if you find yourself in the area, make sure you stop by Urban Sprouts.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this place after work. It was a little hidden with road construction, but I saw the green in the windows and I knew I had to stop by. I'm really glad I did! This shop is any plant parent's dream; planters and tools and foliage of all types, shapes and sizes. It's a little embarrassing admitting that I've probably visited this store about 6 times in just two weeks, and I've never left empty handed. That being said, that just goes to show just how often they get new plants and wares! The shop itself is very well organized and well kept. You can definitely tell that the plants they have are very happy and healthy, so rest assured you'll always be taking home a high caliber plant. The staff is always so friendly and willing to give advice to people of all levels of expertise. From choosing a plant, to recommending a planter, to even repotting the plant in said planter for you before you take it home! And if you ever have any questions or concerns, even with plants you didn't purchase from them, they make themselves available online and on Instagram to help you out, or even invite you to come back with your plant to help assess your situation. Now it has to be said, some of the prices here are a little steep. However, if you take into account the popularity and demand of some of these plants (especially recently with everyone starting to take to indoor gardening during lockdown), the fact that they only have healthy and well-kept specimens, and remembering that this place is a local small shop - some of the prices can be justified. Sure you can get the same plant online, but you can't necessarily guarantee its quality until you receive it. At Urban Sprouts, you know these plants have been given the smartest and thorough in-house care. I don't mind spending an extra $5 here if it means it helps contribute to the continuation of excellent care and service for future days to come. (But of course I wouldn't mind if it were a smidge cheaper) This little shop has become an excellent plant haven for me. While I'm pretty set on plants for a while, I'll always be keeping an eye out for new things in their ever-rotating stock. Check this place out, you just might find yourself a new friend to take home.

Yelp
Had a day date with a girlfriend and we decided to shop locally around down town Renton! What a treat it was visiting Urban Sprouts! From The friendly workers and service To the gorgeous store layout and huge selection we spent almost and hour shopping around! I ended up Purchasing jewelry as a gift, an adorable Greeting card, lemon organic essential oil & a beautiful baby elephant ear polly! Seriously could have spent all day here! They were beyond informative answering every little question I had! Told us about all the classes they offer. I've already told Tons of friends about the shop and plan on going back with my sister next week! Highly Recommended and would check it out and get a breath of fresh oxygen and stop In for some beautiful greenery!

Yelp
I love that Urban Sprouts chose downtown Renton as its home! I think this shop has an advantage in its location with no other shops around that offer its merchandise and classes. Inside it feels cozy, airy and earthy. Appearance appears simple, rustic, loft-like. I have been here a few times to shop for plant accessories and to take a craft class. Each time I have been greeted warmly by the staff which feels inviting. The space is large enough to hold a intimate class or party. The classes are priced reasonably and a lot of fun!

Yelp
Since my last review, not only have I purchased more plant babies from Urban Sprouts, they've helped me improve the health of my other plants at home. I'm not ashamed to say I currently have 8 plants in my tiny apartment and 5 of them are from Urban Sprouts. My recent purchases included a bonsai that took a turn for the worse when we got it home (shock/too cold). I sent photos of the plant to Urban Sprouts and within minutes I had answers and actions to take to help my bonsai. Now there is more new growth than I could have hoped for. I also recently brought in a sick fern I'm trying to nurse back to health and they gave me the best advice. I love this store so much. Sure, you pay a little more here and there for accessories and such. But I think their prices for healthy, awesome 6" or larger plants is really reasonable. And trying to survive as a local biz when Amazon and Ikea are selling sickly plants for so cheap... I'd rather invest in my community and local businesses. I'd rather spend a little more to have healthier plants and amazing service that lasts far beyond my visit at the store itself. Oh, and they've recently remodeled. So go in and check out their new, lovely look!

Yelp
This place has changed! I've come here for several plant consultations, repottings, and have bought pots and soil from here. Never had an issue before, but my last couple of visits have been very impersonal and rushed. I came in for a consultation for a plant that was recently repotted here, and was browning and drooping. I made the appointment over a week in advance. They said everything was fine and quickly repotted my plant, barely addressed any concerns, and the plant did not look good when it was over. She felt very unapproachable and closed off when I made a comment about it. I clearly didn't look happy, but she didn't care. I basically paid $20 to have my small plant repotted, and was in and out the door in 15 minutes for a 30 minute appointment! This is not how plant care should be

Yelp
UPDATE 9/2/22: Shoutout to Liz, she has helped us during our last few visits. Knowledgeable about plants in general and going above and beyond to help us with diagnosing/repotting/propagating services, we felt valued and appreciated as returning customers. Her customer service is outstanding and keeps us loyal to Urban Sprouts. Thank you, Liz!

Yelp
This store is breathing fresh air - literally! - into downtown Renton. Super cute houseplant store that has everything to outfit your living/workspace with greenery: full-grown plants, baby plants, succulents, air plants. You can also get all the fun accessories, too: containers of all colors, shapes, and materials; gemstones; rocks - you name it. And not plant-related, but they also have soaps displayed like desserts in cake stands. The one thing that keeps me from giving this place five stars is the high prices. For an air plant that is being sold at Urban Sprouts for $10, I can get it for $5-$6 elsewhere. I'm reluctant to buy anything here unless it's truly unique, but I'll definitely come back for inspiration!

Yelp
I'll start with the good. The shop itself is cute. It has a lot of open space to really look around. They have a good variety of plants and supplies. I love their repotting kits. The kit comes with soil, fertilizer, and rocks. I recently purchased a Monstera and philodendron Brazil. The issue is that their plants are way over priced. I paid $39.99 for my monstera and they have bigger ones at Lowes and QFC sometimes for fraction of the price and ones that already have fenestrations. I get that sometimes you pay for the convenience, bc Lowes and QFC are out of the way for me personally. Anyways, what drove me to write this 2 star review is that I initially started out ordering a repotting kit and extra soil online on a Saturday. They told me they would deliver on Monday. Monday comes around and I get an email saying they have "too many" orders, so my order will be delivered the following day. Tuesday comes around and they try to deliver my stuff, but the person could not find the front office to leave the items (I'm not sure how..). I had initially missed her call, so I returned her call and explained that I wasn't aware that I would need to be home -- I assumed it would be shipped like through Fedex or something. I informed her on how to enter my building and where to call so I could buzz her in. She said she would deliver it the next day (Wednesday). It is now Wednesday, I don't receive a call all day. I assumed maybe she found the front or someone let her in in passing. I get home at 5:30pm and there is no package. I call the store and they say "the notes show we attempted to deliver on Tuesday, but there was no answer when we called." That was it. I was like "No ma'am, me and the delivery driver had a WHOLE conversation about how to enter and she promised it would be delivered today.". They shop worker then says "oh, I see your package here. We didn't have enough deliveries today to go out, so it will have to wait until tomorrow maybe. Sorry, she should have put it in a separate pile indicating that it needed to go out today no matter what". I then politely asked for a refund. The girl tried to only refund me for the items, and not for delivery. I had to explain to her that it doesn't make sense to charge me for shipping when they isn't my fault. The delivery instructions did not say that someone needs to be home, and she didn't even update my profile to show that we discussed delivery instructions. They finally decided to refund me. This issue isn't even why I give them 2 stars yet. So on Thursday I decide, I really did want the soil, so I will just go down there in person. I make my way down to Urban Sprouts and I purchase two plants (monstera 6in ($39.99) and Brazil 4 in ($14.99)) and the repotting kit ($15) AND a 4 in pot ($24.99). The guy told me that I will "need" a post for my monstera if I want the fenestrations. I was like "uh doesn't that take time though, like a few years considering how small this one is" and he's like "uh yeah about 5 years.." SO WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO SUGGEST I PAY ANOTHER $30 FOR A MOSS POST FOR A PLANT THAT DOESN'T NEED IT NOW???? Then, when checking out he tells me the receipt paper is down so I can be emailed for a receipt. No big deal right... Okay, so I get home and I check my box and the fertilizer is not there. I check my bags and there is no fertilizer. I am positive I did not drop it anywhere bc the type of bag I had, it's impossible, and he packed the box, so therefore it was never put there. I check my email to make sure that I paid for a repotting kit before I call and act dumb. My email shows that not only did I pay for a repotting kit that INCLUDES fertilizer, he charged me $15.99 for additional fertilizer. At this point I am fed up with this store. Multiple employees, multiple mistakes in the span of 4 days, and unnecessarily overpriced products. Like if your prices are so high, at least have the customer service to match it. I will never shop here again. I'd rather travel north to Indoor Sun Shoppe or many of the other local shops here in the city.

Yelp
I came across Urban Sprouts through LBE Design's Instagram story and I am so glad I stopped by! They sell a variety of plants and pots, as well as jewelry and pins, and all the cute stuff everyone needs! Their Instagram stories and pinned section with FAQs that are super helpful for those who have questions about soil gnats and other issues. Highly recommend checking them out! Support the local businesses!

Yelp
Have visited here 2-3 times and will definitely come back. Wide range of plants, cute and chic planters, plant accessories (terrariums, cute trinkets to put in terrariums, plant stands, plant trivets), plant-related goods (jewelry, cards, stickers) and more. I purchased several plant stools for pickup, and the order was available to pickup the next day. The staff wear masks and are helpful and really nice.

Yelp
I came here last weekend with a friend as my belated birthday present/experience since I've always wanted to build a terrarium for the longest time. The class was supposed to start at 6pm but it started a little late due to some people having trouble finding parking (ourselves included...). Once the class finally did start, the instructor talked for 10-15 minutes and educated us about terrariums/plants in general. I thought this was great! It really took me back to high school...of course I forgot most of the concepts already. :-) After the instructor educated us and let us know how to build a terrarium, we got to get started! The store itself has plenty of plant life to choose from for your terrarium. However, once the instructor lets you off on your own, I HIGHLY recommend picking your PLANTS FIRST instead of your terrarium glass first. Why? There are only so many plants they have and you want to be sure you pick what you WANT/the best ones! The instructor will tell you you can pick more plants than you intend to use, which is exactly what I did, because you don't want to start building your terrarium and turns out you changed your mind and want a different plant or the one you originally picked isn't as good as you want! I picked about 8 plants and ended up using 5 of them. They also have a generous variety of stones/little trinkets you can also add to your terrarium to give it a nice finishing touch/color to your terrarium. :-) While the class itself is technically only an hour long, the instructors do not kick you out after the hour and will let you stay as long as you like - my friend and I ended up leaving around 7:45pm. :-) One thing to keep in mind if you do choose to do a terrarium class or any other class they offer: it is a little on the pricey side. I wasn't sure how much I would spend but after the instructor rung me up, it turned out to be ~$50! A little pricey but to me, it was definitely worth it!

Yelp
What a super cute plant store! Located in downtown Renton, this adorable shop is jam packed with plants. They have like every kind of house plant that you can think of, like monsteras, pothos, & air plants. They also sell nice ceramic pots, and cute little decoration things for your plants, and in the middle is a potting station if you want to repot your plant. I had browsed their (very nice) website online before coming in, knowing what I wanted (which was a gift for a friend), but I couldn't find it myself. So i asked one of the staff (who was super nice) and he checked the computer and told me that the plant I was looking for loses its leaves in the winter, so they didn't have any at the moment. Lucky for me, there were plenty of other options, so I picked a cute zebra plant instead. There were so many cool plants to choose from. Another employee (also very nice) rang me up and boxed the plant for me with a box and tissue paper, so it was all ready to go to gift! The store is fun to browse around in. The store is also a little on the warm side - I think they have to maintain a certain temperature so the plants are happy. Happy gardening!
