The food was phenomenal. The person who took our order was so friendly and didn’t make us feel bad as we were looking over the menu and asking a bunch of questions. I think he was the manager and he was really good with our kids and with other customers in line as well. The soups are also amazing. The OG tuna bowl is my favorite. They also have really good cookies. My son got one of their sandwiches and he said it was amazing

Colton has amazing costumer service! Store was well maintained, good food, and had nice outdoor seating as well as indoor. Great weekday lunch! We will be back!

From the moment my coworker and I walked in, we were warmly greeted by the cashier, who truly set the tone for our visit. He was prompt, professional, knowledgeable, and had such a positive attitude—it made all the difference. His inviting demeanor even convinced us to add a few extra items to our order! The restaurant was spotless, the entire crew was friendly, and the atmosphere was welcoming. We’re grateful to have a place like this in El Cajon—one of the very few spots in the city where you can grab a fresh, healthy, and satisfying meal right in the middle of a busy day. Highly recommend!

Nice vibes and friendly staff! I had the Santa Maria sandwich with a side of fruit and a cranberry white chocolate cookie and I ended up getting another cookie to go lol. The sandwich was really good and everything was fresh. Very good spot for a healthy lunch!

This was my first to go order from here. The cashier was friendly and told me abt fruit options because I was a bit indecisive. Imagine my disappointment when I get home to find I was given moldy fruit with my order. Sick to my stomach because I tried to snack in the car on the drive home but after eating one I realized something was not right. Ive officially lost my appetite.

The food was great and the service was stellar, the only improvement I could ask for was that it was a bit warm inside. A little more AC would have been nice.

I was just served by the Shift Lead Skye. She was so friendly and was out of one thing I ordered.... But was so kind about figuring out something else I could get. She made a difference in my day!!! So genuinely sweet. Oh, and our sandwiches were delicious too!!! Made a mediocre day way way better

It's been a while. I was in the area so I decided to get some food here. This place is still awesome!! Their salads and bowls are amazing and delicious!!!! Their prices are fair and the quality is superb!

This was me and my man's first time here and it was an AMAZING EXPERIENCE ! We got recommendations from Colton nice kid very helpful and friendly this guy deserves a raise ! The ambiance was clean and a homey kind of feel. The food was AMAZING I can't get over how bomb the sandwich was and I'm so happy my man loved the salmon bowl he's allergic to dairy so this is the perfect place for us. I really appreciate you guys having so many GREAT DRINKS TO CHOOSE FROM. They got me and my man with the Shirley timple and the cucumber chili limonade OMG ! Fire!! I don't ever want to eat subway EVER AGAIN ! lol

This is my first time coming here and I know.. a little before they close :,) but despite that they all greeted me and made me feel welcomed. Colton is a very nice gentleman who was patient with me when I was deciding on what to get. He had a great attitude and an adorable smile! I got the Seared Ahi Tuna Bowl! So damn good! The perfect amount and flavor 9/10 :)

Service was excellent. Super friendly. We ordered the antioxidant salad w/ steak, bbq chicken sandwich and the tri tip sandwich. The antioxidant salad was good. Ingredients were fresh. I liked the fennel and apple in it. The dried blueberries were good too. I like that the dressing comes on the side so you're able to control how much you add. Out of the 2 sandwiches - the tri tip sandwich was much yummier than the bbq chicken sandwich. I also thought it was nice that they include the total calories for each item.

My son wanted to eat at a place next to Urbane but I didn't want that so I stopped in for dinner. Decided on the Chimichurri Steak Sandi and It came with a mixed green salad with a balsamic dressing. Both the sandwich and salad were fresh and tasty. The beef was a bit bland though but nothing a little salt couldn't fix. They weren't busy but still took 15 minutes to get my order which is why it's four stars instead of five. Very limited seating but they have some tables outside.

After a fun early evening hosted by the city of El Cajon Police at the parkway plaza I was hungry! All that dancing to an 80s cover band had me working up an appetite! Mozied on over to UrbanCafe. Surprisingly it was empty at 8pm on a Tuesday. Staff was very friendly! Wanting to be healthy I ordered an ahi tuna salad to go and had a bag of honey Dijon potato chips - yep- they got me with an impulse buy! The chips were yummy but I was Dissappointed to see how expensive the small bag was at $2.99! The salsa was the perfect size. Not too much, not too little. I was even pleasantly surprised at the amount of ahi included. (I was concerned it wouldn't be enough!) The salad included avacado and a weird amount of it on the side. In all, I enjoyed the salad. Had the dressing on the side which worked well as I could also dip the bread in it. While I do think $18 for a salad and chips (no drink) iis expensive, I did enjoy the meal..

Very bad experience. Sandwiches were not made as ordered. As my salad came to the table, I was advised that the peanut dressing was not on it because they were out of the dressing. It was the Crunchy Peanut Salad. Hello!! Got a laugh! The Management failed to order to prepare and provide the basic items on the menu. Bad business.

I had the cilantro chicken salad. The salad was tasty the ingredients were very fresh. Definitely recommend this place.

Staff super friendly and manager super friendly and attentive to see that our food met expectations. Food was made fresh and was so delicious & the bread was amazing. The chocolate chip cookies are fresh and are warm ooey gooey goodness. Nice well lit open establishment with plenty of seating inside and patio dinning. Will definitely come back and a must try of in the El Cajon area.

I'm not sure where they find their staff but I am beyond impressed! Philip was the text-book definition of hospitable with his customer service. He genuinely looks happy to be here and it is so refreshing. I was greeted with a smile, and given his recommendations. He also highlighted the seasonal specials. I will for sure be back for the food and the service!

This location is located next to a hotel and a bunch of small shops and restaurant. With that being said, finding parking was very difficult due to the size of the parking lot. If you have a big truck, don't even bother as it is very difficult to navigate. The food was very unique and very tasty. Little on the pricey side, two sandwiches and mixed green Came out to a little more than $30. This establishment had a very modern look and feel to it. The service was just OK, If the staff would have greeted and smile a little, it would have been a perfect 5. The staff was either overworked or really hate working here.", which is a reflection of the owner or management team. Overall, if I ever saw this place at the airport, I would for sure stop by. But wouldn't go out of my way. KCYE Don

Food is good, service is horrible. Horrible service by night shift guy. He overcharged me, I called him out on it, and kicked me out of store! Someone contacts me few days later and says Im banned and cops will be called. I was basically threatened! Conversation was ended by him saying "I gotta go! Have a flight to catch" Urbane cafe has great food great ambience. Im sure the humble man who started this restaurant would not approve of this vile customer service. Shame shame! Beware, don't fall into customer service traps.

I came here for the first time the other day around lunchtime. It was very busy with lots of people dining in and a lot of online/takeout orders. I got my turkey club sandwich in about 10-15 minutes. It was good except for the avocado was bland. I like the little side salad with vinaigrette.

Updating to a 5 star. I am obsessed with the ahi tuna salad. I have it on Sundays. If you like ahi tuna, get this salad and be happy. So good. Great service, fresh food, nice rewards program. They don't charge extra for another container of dressing. It's the little things that make a place special.

I came in to eat a sandwich and I heard a really loud obnoxious voice somewhere around the place I couldn't locate the person but I felt uncomfortable. Then suddenly I saw this man I believe his name is Philip I don't know but that guy is weird he should go work at subway instead. Overall I think this place is very disappointing and I rather spend my time and place at fish grill. Also chimichangas and hotdog water is my go to meal.

Better than i expected in general. Healthy option and balanced nutrients. the rice in the salmon bowl didnt taste good tho. I believe the bowl would be better without the rice and more sweet potatoes instead. You guys should make that an option. I recommend this place though.-

I've always been a fan of urbane cafe! Who can say no to that bread. My favorite sandwich is the socal. Ps. Their tomato bisque soup is always good. This isn't the location I usually go to but the food was the same great quality. Only thing was the beverage station needed a good wipe. I almost wish the utensils were behind the counter instead of the sticky soda machine.

Colton greeted us and took our order. What a friendly guy and he was so helpful. The food was great. Will definitely be coming back.

Their sandwiches are soooo good! I haven't tried their bowls or salads yet! The focaccia bread is baked fresh and is soo tasty!

We love this place. Their food is really good. It's made with nice and healthy ingredients. We usually get the Santa Maria barbecue salad. It's delicious and it comes with a quarter of a piece of the bread which is delicious. Lots of chicken and bacon. The dressing is great. The servings are very consistent. I've also had the cranberry brie sandwich and it's delicious. The chimichurri steak sandwich is supposed to be delicious also. Good cookies. Nice soda options. The only downside is there is not a lot of ins inside seating. But there is outside seating and as long as it's not raining you are good to go. Service is great. Staff are very friendly.

First time in tonight and I tried the BBQ Tri-Tip and I have to admit I wasn't expecting to be that good. I will definitely be back to try more of this menu. Also very welcoming staff the manager Kate was so nice and let us try a cranberry cookie for free.

This place has really great food and the service is even better! Sky, the manager, welcomed us and was attentive to our needs & requests. She was super nice and made the experience pretty amazing. Sky was able to make sure our order was correct and then followed up with us on our way out too. Can't wait to go back!

Every time I eat at Urbane Cafe everything is always fresh and delicious! Skye is amazing!!! Whenever I order DoorDash from here every once in a blue moon a bread maybe missing and Skye is always so kind and generous as to accommodate! My husband and I have always experienced great customer service when visiting the restaurant!

LOVE this place and their fresh food! We often get catering from here for work and it is seriously so so good. I've tried their banh mi tofu sandwich and their salmon salad as well as their veggie salad and literally everything tastes impeccable. The ingredients are fresh and high quality. Our catering meals are always perfectly proportioned and come with a side of bread and cookies with the salad.

Urbane cafe is one of my favorite sandwich places. So cal is my go to. I constantly get a side of the Baja enchilada soup. My only complaint is why do I get a cold bread with it each time? Shouldn't the bread be warm? Either way, staff is always nice and very clean location.

I always enjoy the food. It is very good and fresh. The place is very clean. They are always wiping down the table before a new guests. However, the service could do better. The girl was more concerned about texting on her watch and my order came out wrong. And then she questioned it when it came out. I LOVE Urbane Cafe! The food is amazing and the service is awesome!! First, when they first came to El Cajon, they offered every teacher a free meal! It was such a kind gesture, and I've been a loyal customer ever since! Their customer service continues to be top notch. For example, the other day I placed an order on GrubHub. The app didn't have my favorite sandwich as an option, so I got something else. I called and asked if it would be possible to switch for my favorite sandwich--they could have said no, but instead they made the accommodation!! I know that may not always be possible, and I'm not sure why the GrubHub menu was off, but it's simple things like that that make me want to go out of my way to patron Urbane Cafe!! Second, their food is ABSOLUTELY delicious! I'm pretty much obsessed with the chimichurri steak sandwich. Also, I love that the sandwiches come with a little side salad, because if you eat your salad before your meal, it curbs the blood sugar spike that most meals cause. Every bite of your meal will be delicious. Also, I don't know why, but their bread is SO yummy! The cafe is cute and has both in-door and out-door seating options. You order at the counter and then find a seat. This place is a gem!

I am officially obsessed with Urbane Cafe! From the moment you walk in, the vibe is clean, modern, and welcoming and the food? Absolutely crave-worthy! Every single item on the menu is packed with flavor, made fresh to order, and beautifully presented! I love their Crunchy Peanut Salad its one of my favorites on the menu along with the Chimichurri Steak Sandwich!! Healthy, fast, and absolutely delicious! Can't wait to come back again!

The food was good and they have some great healthy selections. I am mainly vegetarian, so it's hard to eat out sometimes. I enjoyed the mushroom sandwich, but the mushrooms were cold. I prefer a hot mushroom sandwich over a cold one. The description did not specify. But I was happy there were more vegetarian options to choose from.

This place was great! I grabbed dinner after work with a friend because the reviews looked good. I had never been here before but it struck me that it was super clean and the staff was friendly without being obnoxious. My friend ordered the cranberry Brie sandwich with a salad. I got the Abbot's Southwest salad, which I highly recommend. It's a plant based chorizo on a chopped salad mix with avocado, corn, black bean salsa, and Follow Your Heart feta. The portions are perfect and everything tastes fresh. That focaccia bread that comes with it is crazy delicious! I could've eaten just that and been thrilled. I also ordered a red velvet cookie and a chocolate cookie and both were amazing. I will 100% be visiting this place again in the near future.
