They Just opened up this summer at the Annapolis Town Center. Face review will be based on our two occasions, September 4 and October 30 for Halloween Eve. And we did dress up! So they will be quite a few photos. And I will have to tell you it’s probably one of my favorite new Mexican restaurants. Their take is more Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine. The menu is a curated selection of Mexico's finest, from tantalizing tacos to fiery fajitas and a unique spin on Tex-Mex classics. They even have a big bar making their own specialty drinks, margaritas and tequilas. Our first time going, there was an epic experience to say the least. We were frustrated with some restaurants that weren’t serving food that met our needs. Good quality, good price, good atmosphere, Urbano’s has it. On our first experience in September, for starters, we got an octopus ceviche, cooked perfectly. Then we tried to get a few different dishes. We got tacos as you can see in the photos were just as delicious as they look. Coming with a side of looked like bean soup and a side of rice. A fajita salad with steak cooked perfectly. Crispy garlic shrimp. And the dessert honestly I forget the name and I don’t have a photo of it in the menu, but it was very good! At least from what I remember. Our second day, October 30 and we got something a little different and since October is national Pizza month I got a Mexican pizza. Oysters and crispy shrimp. And of course, as always I try to get a shot of some other plates that were served. Just so you can see the food. Anyway, next time you’re in the Annapolis town center, and looking for some different food, or have a taste for some Mexican cuisine Tex mix with a twist give Urbano 116 a try! Their other locations are in 116 King St, Alexandria, VA 22314 Alexandria, Virginia, the Heights 5406 Wisconsin Avenue, Suite A Chevy Chase MD 20815 and in Mosaic, 2985 District Ave, Fairfax, VA 22031 thanks for stopping by and checking out my review. #texmex #mexicanfare

This place was just OK to us and it may very well be because it's fairly new and they are getting things situated. This is actually the reason why I don't like going to places within the initial 6mths of opening, but it was convenient this day. Both of our meals were like warm and apparently the margarita was mostly lime juice or mix. Hopefully things will get better because it's such a great location for a good restaurant...outdoor seating, loads of parking in the center, and very walkable.

Google
Annapolis Town Center has always been a mixed bag in terms of quality and exclusivity, but Urbano is definitely a cut above the rest and I'm happy to see it! The only complaint I have is the service has been a bit slow the times I've been there, But that may be corrected as they become more well-known and the number of walk-ins is more consistent and predictable. That being said: every food item my guests and I have ordered has been fantastic both in taste and presentation, the drinks are delicious with a few unique items on the menu, and the bartenders and servers are incredibly personable and attentive. Daniel remembered my party and I by name on our second visit and were happy to talk to us at length about mezcal and margaritas, as well as giving passionate descriptions of the menu and answering questions about the history and motivation behind the restaurant. I will definitely be going back again and recommending Urbano to friends and family!

Gaby was absolutely fantastic! She was so friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Our dining experience was made special thanks to Gaby! incredible hospitality. She went above and beyond to accommodate our requests and made us feel truly welcomed.

Food was amazing but the service was a little slow. Our waitress sat us down and decided to set other tables for more than 10 minutes before coming and asking about drinks or food. Then she continued setting up tables while I waited and had to flag her down to remind her about my drink. The restaurant wasn’t busy so I’m not sure why the service was off. Now on to the food the salsa they give with the chips was really good. The chicken tortilla soup was on point. Carne Asada was huge with lots of sides and everything tasted amazing. My husband had the Urbano bowl and loved it.

Yelp
This was out 1st visiting this location and the food was AWESOME. The flavors exceeded our expectations!! We got the guac- very flavorful. The complimentary chips came with a smoked salsa that tasted really delicious. The steak & carnitas fajitas were packed with flavor. It was Thursday- all day happy hour specials . The bar area was slow but Darrion was attentive and has a great personality. Jose the manager was also very informative and a good reflection on this new spot. Thank you- keep up the great work. Great service and food!!

Yelp
We wanted to try something new so we came here for lunch to celebrate my husband's birthday. We sat at the bar and were served water and greeted by the bartender. I asked for a glass of wine and we ordered Julia's Mexican pizza and it was delicious! It was very fresh and served quickly. My husband ordered the steak and shrimp fajitas and disappointed that it was not served with vegetables, it was served on top of a full large onion plus the portions were small, but the huge bed of onions were massive and the shrimp were frozen. I ordered the cheese enchiladas with tomatillo sauce, and it was good . It did have too much cheese on top so it became a bit hard to chew. For dessert, we had sopapilla's which were really good but took 20 minutes to get served and agin, only 4 tables in restaurant were full and we were 2 of 4 at bar! My only critiques, 1. When a drink glass is empty, ask the customer if they would like another drink. I drank 1 glass during our visit, but totally would have had 3 or I may have purchased a bottle but my glass was invisible. My husband was going to order an after dinner cocktail but the bartender was mia probably serving the restaurant. We don't know, he would just go mia. 2. Explain the salsas. We were served 2 different kinds and do not know what they were. 3. Spice it up. Nothing had a bite to it, not even the salsa (at all). 4. Think ahead of your customers needs. Don't make them ask for everything, especially when there are only 4 tables of customers on a Saturday afternoon. We had to ask for a glass of wine, silverware, chips and salsa, dessert menu, and the list goes on. 5. The paper towel holder laying in the sink and one of the stall doors off the hinges in the women's restroom did not look attractive. That's just lazy owners. It's disappointing being from Texas, we were hoping for a new go to that reminded us of home. It's not this place. Our check was over $100 and walked out feeling ripped off. Very surprising in this high rent space. SMH.

Yelp
This is the Annapolis Maryland location in the Town Center. We had high hopes for Urbano. It's better than a regular California Mex place, but not high end at all. The swordfish and coconut rice had a sour taste almost like the coconut was bad. The swordfish was over cooked $28.00. The other dish was brisket and ribs the brisket was super fatty the ribs decent with grilled corn and salsa not a fan of salsa as a side $33.00. This is okay we didn't have drinks because they did look generic. Service was good. Ambiance was cheerful.

Pkmnobx K.

Yelp
The Ambiance is good. The front is terrible, the guy on the phone as I entered and just left me standing there until a waitress seated us. The food was salty as if they used flavor packets, like Old El Paso, instead of using herbs and spices. The Chimichunga was definitely frozen, premade Sysco. You can get much better Mexican Fair almost anywhere in Annapolis for a third the price.

Yelp
A friend told me about this place, so we wanted to check it out. We made an online reservation for lunch on a Sunday. At noon on Sunday, they offer both the regular menu and also a brunch menu. So my husband opted for the breakfast burrito off the lunch menu, and I had a chicken fajita salad. Our server was Sonja, who was very pleasant. They brought out chips and salsa (two kinds of salsa) right away. We had planned to eat inside, but it was a gorgeous day, so we chose outdoor seating (the music was also pretty loud inside). We did not order drinks or dessert--so that will be for the next visit. Overall--the food was delicious, and service was prompt & pleasant. In addition to the table seating outside, they had the outdoor bar open, which was a really nice setup with stools on the outdoor side. The South Parking garage (you can enter across from Target) is right behind the restaurant. (We did receive an email afterwards from Open Table, claiming that we were a no-show. So I had to respond with our meal & transaction details. I had informed the man at the host station about our reservation when I checked in. So this part of the communication loop needs work).

Yelp
The food was good--I had the birria tacos. Unfortunately, the service was very poor. The waitress seemed completely uninterested in her work and was eating her own food instead of taking our order. She was unfriendly and appeared more focused on checking the tip we left rather than providing attentive service. I would return for the birria tacos, but if I see her again, I will definitely ask for someone else. I don't remember her name, as she was hardly at our table.

Rachel K.

Yelp
Came here today for lunch and the entire experience was mediocre. We arrived at noon and we were literally the only guests in the restaurant. Yet after we were sat, it took a solid 5 minutes before our waitress greeted us. Service was fine. Pretty sure she just rolled out of bed and didn't have any caffeine yet. I got the Shrimp Salad and added avocado. The 1/2 of an avocado they added to my salad was $4 so all together, my salad was $20. I still left hungry. Salad was small and the dressing didn't have much flavor. Shrimp was grilled nicely but the tails were still on. I love doing work with my $20 salad. Won't be back.

Yelp
We have been a couple times since opening and love that they listened and improved. They fixed their margaritas!! Best in the area now. The food is outstanding and the service has been attentive and friendly. So glad to have Urbano in the neighborhood!

Yelp
Party of 3 tonight. Great service. Warm chips; fresh homemade guacamole. I had chicken tortilla soup which was delicious while my wife and friend enjoyed an oyster appetizer. I had a combo of taco, burrito and a chimichanga which was delicious . We enjoyed it all. Second visit and we will be back.

Candi S.

Yelp
We waited patiently for Urbano to open and it did not disappoint. Margaritas were on point and food was delicious. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
1 pm on a Thursday in Annapolis . Empty . Hmmm . Servers need training . No salt or pepper on any tables . It's needed . Seasoning lacking . Decent portions . Had the crispy fish sandwich , wayyyyyy to much bread . Side salad good . Friend had a bowl , not sure what the ground up stuff was , and she couldn't tell . She ordered the grilled steak . You could tell that . Lettuce buried in hot cheese and whatever the ground stuff was . I would suggest going where the crowd was , Tatte .

Andrew K.

Yelp
Such a good addition to the area! Loved the fajitas and atmosphere. I had a margarita and bartender was great. Will be back!

Yelp
Delicious food and great service! The music really adds ambience to the towne center Visit Leslie at the bar for an expierience!

Steve K.

Yelp
Went there on a Friday night for happy hour. Drinks were bland. Wings were cold and greasy. They charged 9% tax on total bill even though we had food and drinks. Service was extremely slow. They were very busy, but was a challenge to get the servers attention. Watch your bill so they don't over charge you. We won't be back,

Ethan W.

Yelp
Went during the week, excellent, attentive server and service - delicious chips and salsa the moment we sat down. Tasty food and really good margaritas! Also, they use cardboard containers for leftovers/takeout.

Lawrence W.

Yelp
Great addition to the town center. Amazing food and drinks, cant wait to go back. The steak fajitas are a must!!!!!!!

Kevin G.

Yelp
I think they need to work on authenticity. Those weren't Al pastor tacos I had tonight. Server forgot about our drinks. Needs time to find it mojo.

Catherine H.

Yelp
I wanted to try this new restaurant in Annapolis and had high hopes for the food. The best thing was the smokey salsa. I had the chicken tacos, and the chicken flavor was not to my liking. I asked for black beans instead of refried beans, I was unaware that the black beans would be refried black beans which was disappointing and the Mexican rice that came with it was flavorless. The food was just okay and would do in a pinch. I don't think I will be back. Service was great.

Dahn D.

Yelp
The food here is absolutely disgusting... the drinks are OK..... I had a ground beef taco that was mostly tomato paste and pepper.... It was horrifying...... the atmosphere was OK. You can tell on some of the columns in the restaurant that they had pulled down the prior restaurants decorations, and didn't even bother to fill in what they pull down. They just painted over it..... The restaurant is not situated very well and it's half the size of the prior restaurant.... Service was just OK.... I would not recommend eating here. I don't think it's gonna last very long in that spot.

Morton L.

Yelp
NOT ready for prime time. The staff was oblivious to the fact that they had customers in the restaurant. At one point there were 7 staff members standing around the bar near me and still no chips and salsa. After 30 minutes and two requests the chips finally arrived with two salsas. I had the salmon entrée, which I was told was fresh. The food is airport restaurant quality at best, with an upbeat playlist. I could have been in Cincinnati on a layover. At 8pm on a Saturday night, this place was dead. UPDATE: a few hours after I left I got violently ill, so there's a food quality and/or kitchen cleanliness issue. Skip this place. I predict they will be closed within a year.

Kimsi T.

Yelp
I normally don't leave reviews, but compelled to leave feedback for this new restaurant. Food was very bad, service was slow and the waitress was unpleasant, overpriced, and the ambience underwhelming. The food came out unseasoned, bland, and margarita was flat and watered down, disappointed after $100 bill.

Jeremy H.

Yelp
Worst margarita I've ever had. House margarita is garbage. 2nd time here and it's still disappointing! Over priced for what you get. Small portions.

Thomas O.

Yelp
Still in their growing pains. It took 1.2 hours to get served food at the bar. Food was ok 6 out of 10 - nothing spectacular. I had a combo fajitas with just onions now peppers other than a spicy one served. There are too many other Spanish/Mexican restaurants in Annapolis with great food. They need to step up their game significantly for this place to survive.

Laura A.

Yelp
Service and ambiance was far better than the food. The problem with the food was it was so salty. When salt is the first and last thing you notice with each bite, that's a problem. I know that I was there when it first opened so maybe I will try again later. Much later though. Ugh. Chips and salsa was good. Maybe I'd come for a happy hour with just chips and salsa.
