If you like thin crust authentic romana style pizza. Come here. If you in for great pizza, come as well. We really enjoyed the terrific pizza. And as pizza works best with beer (no wine), get a chango beer

Great New York/New Haven style pizza in California. Good flavor and very thin crust. Had me thinking I was on the east coast! Very nice service as well!

Google
After a perfect beach day in Encinitas, we stumbled upon this low-key pizza spot, and wow, were we impressed! The huge pizzas were absolutely delicious - every slice was a winner. But honestly, the real MVP might have been the salsa. Seriously, it was even better than the pizza itself, which is saying something! If you're looking for a relaxed vibe and incredible food after a day by the ocean, this is your spot. We can't wait to go back.

Highly disappointing unfortunately. Having visited other URBN locations in San Diego, I expected better. $40 with a drink, pie was paper thin with almost no sauce or cheese, burnt, tasteless, and not edible. Was told this is the quality to expect at this location, staff didn't seem to care.

We ordered takeout and everything was excellent. Our order was ready right on time, and they even surprised us with an extra Caesar salad—which turned out to be delicious. Both pizzas we ordered were very good, and their small size easily serves two people. Great food, great service, and we’ll definitely be back!

Google
Amazing coal fired pizza! We were visiting from Columbus, Ohio and I wish we had pizza like this in our hometown! The classic pepperoni and Pesto Chicken Broccoli are incredible. Two to three people can split a small pizza! Crust is to die for! ❤️🫡❤️🫡

Loved this place. Stopped for lunch today with my family. Cutest vibes, the owner was extremely sweet and welcoming and went out of his way to make us feel at home and taken care. The URBN salad was one of the best salads I've ever had!

Google
Great, I mean really great pizza. We had a margarita pie lovingly made by Billy. One of the best pizza I've had in recent memory. Thin crust, great flavor. Their pizza sauce is amazing. Service at the bar from Sam was excellent. He was attentive and made sure we were week taken care of. We will be back!

Yelp
If I could give this place 60 stars I would. I thought I had already reviewed URBN but I was wrong. This is the best pizza I've had in California to date. If I've said any other place was better I take it back. It's the closest to Sally's from New Haven Connecticut that I have encountered. The location near the beach is ideal. The place is comfy and easy to get to. The staff is friendly and everyone from the cook to the front counter is involved. Honestly cannot recommend this place enough. My gf says luckily we're not close or I'd be there all the time. She right, I would.

Yelp
Customer service was ehhh (not very inviting) and bathroom was not in service. Big slice of pepperoni pizza for only 7.50. Little bit greasy, but nothing I can't blot off . Pizza was tasty; thin with a crusty crust. Pizza was light on sauce and cheese.

Yelp
The food was amazing! The char on the dough makes it something special. The staff is friendly and kind. THANKS Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Great neighborhood spot for comfort food and drinks. Strawberry vodka drink was fantastic - not too sweet and not too strong, just perfectly balanced. Food was on the heavier side but it is expected in the neighborhood bar.

Yelp
A thin crust pizza sent straight from heaven. At least that's what it felt like eating this one! I didn't know what to expect based on some mixed (though generally positive) reviews but I'm happy my hubby dragged me there because the pizza was even better than expected. Everything was well-balanced taste wise and the parmed eggplant was a nice surprise, a bit crunchy and frankly delish. The cheese was good and too, and the sauce was just right. The thin crust was perfect, slightly charred but not too much. The medium pizza (they have only two sizes, medium and humongous) was perfect to share between 2 hungry people, or maybe 3 regular people who aren't looking to stuff their faces. I honestly never knew just how much I loved thin crust until I walked into URBN. The formula is simple and the output tastes great. This meets all the check boxes for me. Next time I'm in Encinitas, I'll definitely stop by again. Totally worth it!

Yelp
URBN Encinitas serves New Haven-style thin crust pizza. A small looks huge and takes up an entire tray. I thought I would have leftovers, but because it's a very thin crust, the two us easily ate one. This is a casual spot, where you order at the counter and find a table. Things were pretty chill during a weekday lunch. We got a small Eggplant Parm ($24). I liked the red sauce and was surprised that the pizza didn't get too soggy given how paper thin the crust was. I would totally come back here and try some other pizzas. There was an earlier review complaining about the state of the restroom. I found it to be very clean, so don't let that one prevent you from coming here.

Yelp
Awesome thin crust pizza in Encinitas! Super chill pizza spot right on South Coast Highway. The restaurant itself has a fair amount of seating for dine-in but also has a street facing window for take-out making it really convenient to order. Staff is super friendly and they have a great selection of wine and beers to go with the pizza. The pizza itself is a more "traditional" pizza with thin crust, which I really like. It's a great change of pace from the typical chain pizza spots. Overall highly recommend giving this spot a try!

Yelp
Dude, hands down best pizza ever!!! I don't get how this place does not have a higher rating!!! We ordered a large hot honey and added arugula on top which has pepperoni, jalapeño, and honey on top. Damn, the pizza was thin crust and perfectly burnt to a crisp, in the best way!!! Remember to ask for their house made ranch, it's literally the best ranch I've ever had. You gotta dip the pizza in the ranch. We were gonna take jt to go and decided to sit at the bar and at least have a slice, but we literally couldn't stop eating and ate the whole thing lol! One large pizza was perfect to share with 3 people. I had 3 slices, and the boys had 4 each. We are all perfectly stuffed without feeling guilty or heavy. I am so happy I discovered this spot!!! The owner and server were so sweet and kind, and made us feel so welcomed. We will be back!!! And yo, I highly recommend, 10 out to 10. Tip: eat in. Thin crust just doesn't taste as good later, it gets soggy.

Yelp
Reese was the BEST! My husband and I were hot and thirsty. Reese was very nice about the fact that we were only ordering beverages. May not seem like a big deal but offering glasses and ice for our drinks were NOT taken for granted. The pizzas looked and smelled AMAZING! When I'm back in Encinitas again, I'm definitely trying their pizza-especially if Reese is there!! Awesome customer service!

Yelp
Went in on a Sunday morning just after they opened. I guess they do most of their business at night or later in the day as the entire time my wife and I were there, only one other party came in. Anyhow, we had the pesto chicken pizza and it was very good, a bit too much oil imho as it was dripping off all over the place. Very thin crust, which I prefer over doughy pizza. I'd definitely go back and try something else.

Yelp
Urbn is great! We loved their Polpetta con provolone and really enjoyed the ricotta on that pie! Service was friendly and distance from the beach is very convenient.

Yelp
Amazing pizza one of my favs in all of NoCo. Huge tray full of delight. Def try. Awesome stuff, great service. Thanks gang.

Yelp
Stopped by during a Cruise Night on the 101. Super fast service which was excellent for my hangry toddlers. Good spot for families and kids, without some outdoor seating. Pepperoni pizza was yummy - only negatives were greasy top and soggy crust. Small size is HUGE. We definitely enjoyed it. The Italian chopped salad was so good, I could eat this every day.

Yelp
Really tasty pizza, love the crust. Awesome service and staff, very knowledgeable and informative for first-time customers. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Best pizza I've literally ever tasted. Ella and Riley were so friendly and made the whole experience!

Yelp
We were looking for a place to eat and just happened to see this place from across the street. It was kinda dark but I am glad we walked in. Pizzas were very good along with the Caesar salad. The pizzas were big and tasted super delicious. Ambiance is nice...small but cozy and the service was very friendly. Would definitely recommend. Family friendly. There were 8 of us. To the business: I would recommend maybe brighter signage with lighting...hard to tell from the outside how nice it is inside.

Yelp
Great pizza and service. Even picky kids loved it. Pizzas way bigger than we expected.

Yelp
solimar helped us out and was so sweet and helpful and made us the best pizza ever! Got half and half on it and it tasted incredible! best service and vibes ever !!

Yelp
Sooooo, my husband, and I usually love eating Urbn pizza. I'd say it is our favorite place to have pizza, but today we ordered our usual and it came out with burnt edges and bacon. When I commented on the burnt pizza and the burnt bacon, the server replied, "that's how we cook our pizza ...with crispy edges." . OK , it's not like I've ever had a pizza here with black crispy edges and bacon that is black. The bacon was not part of the edge of the pizza btw. . My husband didn't mind because he was hangry so he chowed down. My side was ok, but I couldn't eat the crust. It's usually really great. I think someone just forgot about our pizza that night, but the server should have offered to remake it in my opinion. Just my two cents

Throckmorton Bartholomew M.

Yelp
Very good pizza. My kid liked it. Good wine too. 14 hands Merlot. Will come back when I'm in the area!

Yelp
I came here on a date night with my husband back in December and was helped by the wonderful Solimar. She greeted us and talked us through the menu. She was very knowledgeable and friendly, and it's obvious that she is passionate about connecting with people. We ordered the salad and a mashed potato pizza. I know what you're thinking...mashed potato pizza?! But it works! Just trust me! The food was absolutely delicious. The ambiance is casual and fun. URBN never disappoints. Check it out the next time you're in the mood for some amazing pizza!

Yelp
Great food and atmosphere. Our favorite spot in Encinitas. Be warned that the pizzas are huge!

Yelp
Came here in search of a good thin pizza... And it was so good I faced the entire margherita to myself. Took them about 10 minutes to make my pizza, it came out crispy and just right. The people in the store were very friendly too. Location is amazing, right next to Moonlight beach. On a sunnier day I'll come back and enjoy one of these pizzas on the shore over there.

Melissa R.

Yelp
Joe knows his dough! In addition to managing the place so well, he also makes a mean pie. We've never been disappointed with the pizza. And although we did have one hiccup with a pickup time, he made it right and offered to refund us. We said we preferred a credit because we knew we would be back. Great pizza for a crowd, the big box is so impressive. The wings also smash! So good and the ranch is some of the best I've had. We are URBN obsessed. Also- for the haters out there...The char on the crust is maybe our favorite part.
google avatar

Sarah B.

Yelp
If you like your pizza thinish, crisp on the crust and super tasty then URBN is the spot. Perfect sauce to cheese ratio and topped with a healthy amount of parmesan. Similar to New York style pizza. My first coal fired pizza and it was so yummy. Boring old cheese pizza is always my first choice. We ordered a small size for $20 and still had leftovers. Liked eating on their patio in downtown Encinitas. Definitely hipster vibes. Good service and we had our order within about 10-15 minutes. Will return when in town.
google avatar

Rex C.

Yelp
Coal fired pizza. I really wanted the clam pie but they were out of clams. Mashed potato/bacon. I asked for it Well done (not black). It was delicious! . Light and crisp. This is a unique gourmet pizza. I highly recommend URBN in Encinitas! If you can eat at the restaurant. The pizza will taste at it's best. If you have to go at least taste a piece right away.
google avatar

Ed K.

Yelp
Service is wanting. Three of us went there the other day, waited about 15 minutes for a waiter until one of us was "fed up" with the wait, so we walked over to Leucadia Pizza were our order was promptly taken and served in a reasonable amount of time. I really wanted to try Urbn- I mean hell, is it even worth it??
google avatar

OG T.

Yelp
Outstanding Customer Service They forgot about my order of Hot Wings, but once they realized their mistake, they brought out my wings in less than 10 mins. With extra wings added. AND they also gave me a free extra pizza to go. Wow! Can't say enough about their customer service beyond excellent. Pizza was amazing, 100% recommend this place. Food is great !

Shannon B.

Yelp
This pizza is fantastic. It's a different style and not too far a field, but just different enough to set it apart from competitors, great tasting thin style crust.

Melissa A.

Yelp
We love going to URBN, but our most recent encounter was extra fantastic! We placed an order, and when it arrived, we noticed there was a mix up. As soon as I brought it to Joe's attention, he went above and beyond to make things right. He comped 2 large pizzas and a salad to apologize for the inconvenience. They truly focus on customer satisfaction. Highly recommend this place for their amazing thin crusted New Haven style pizza and excellent care to their customers.
google avatar

Nina S.

Yelp
If you are missing New Haven style pizza this is the place. The crust is super thin and charred just right. The thing they do perfectly is the sauce. 10/10 on that. Most pizza places around here make their sauce so sweet and it is almost inedible. Not URBN. I would suggest eating in instead of delivery as by the time it got to our house three miles away it was luke warm. Other than that solid pizza. Also, get the large. The crust is super thin and you'll be surprised how many slices it takes to fill up compared to a thick crust.

Victor M.

Yelp
Mashed potato pie is our favorite , great service everything was great! The service and manger are the best.
google avatar

Rhondi S.

Yelp
Best pizza ever! Charred bottom, crispy sides, melt mozzarella cheese, fresh basil - the best margarita pizza ever! Girl server is friendly, nice and helpful. The salad is super yummy with the vinaigrette, pears, Gorgonzola and walnuts. Dining area overlooks the 101 so plenty of people watching. They were out of the amber ale, but the hazy IPA was delicious. Love this local joint!!
google avatar

Valerie G.

Yelp
What we ordered from the menu description was not what we actually got. The pizza? looked like a giant flattened tortilla thrown on a metal square with the toppings thrown haphazardly with the cheese just slushing everywhere; burnt edges, was it supposed to be thin crusted? Tasted horrible. We ordered a Ceaser salad that was equally disappointing. It looked as if someone threw lettuce from a package into a bowl with hardly any dressing. There was 1 cook. The other person at the cash register looked exhausted, took the order and also served the pizza and salad. Everything about this place was dreary and disappointing including how uncomfortable the metal chairs were. We will not return.
google avatar

Noah T.

Yelp
Just some solid dudes serving great pizza! The hot honey pizza hit the spot. We were deciding between two pizzas and they let us get half and half red and white sauce. The best of both worlds! The "small" is enormous. Could feed 3. Dude making the za seemed genuine and asked me and my gf how we enjoyed the pizza. Good stop!

Kerri B.

Yelp
We love this pizza!! The crust is coal fired and every time it has been done perfectly. My friend and I split a large pizza, and my side was a white pizza with arugula, ricotta and tomatoes. We also had the urbn salad which is our favorite. Top it off with great staff. Overall, this is always our first choice
google avatar

Stacy S.

Yelp
We've been looking for a good pizza since Italy and we finally found one! Dough was thin, crispy yet very tasty. All ingredients were really fresh. Staff was very nice and helpful. Such a nice day we were able to sit and just enjoy. When we are down in this area will definitely pay another visit.
google avatar

Leo E.

Yelp
Great pizza, the people there are really nice. You can dine in or take out. Dine in option have a good amount of seating. I diffidently recommend if you in the area.

Truman E.

Yelp
Pizzas are HUGE and done in minutes. Also great vibes and music inside. Those working were amazing - super nice.
google avatar

Jeff S.

Yelp
So good! Go pepper and mush man was it tasty had a window and take out just popped up to the window pick up my pizza that I orders and so good!

Susan K.

Yelp
The URBN pizza is amazing! I love the thin soft crust and the sauce and cheese are the best. The customer service is great. The atmosphere of the dining area is rustic, although it could be more comfortable, the food makes up for it.
google avatar

Jonathan L.

Yelp
Pizza was meh. Not gourmet at all. Came here for lunch. Was going to get a large, but was told small should feed 2-4 people. It did not feed me. It was very thin crust and there was no flavor. We got a split mashed potato pie and split peppered salami. The peppered salami pizza was quite bland, tasted like plain dough with marinara. There was like no cheese. You can't call it a pizza without cheese. Taste like plain bread with marinara. It was also way too saucy and was dripping in marinara sauce. No good. The mashed potato pie was slightly better, but that alone doesnt deserve 2 stars. It's terrible. It's literally mashed potato on pizza with bread. Cheese was like non existent. Honestly would have bought a slice of pizza at costco. it's way better tasting and way cheaper. Overall, would never think of coming back again. The pizzas were lame. If you like pizza without cheese, then maybe you'll like this spot.
google avatar

Ajmm M.

Yelp
Holy cow the variety here is great! We tried the eggplant parm pizza and was not disappointed. It was beyond amazing. Two of us easily devoured the small....the large would have been too much, though it was so good I was almost disappointed we didn't go for it. We also had beer and hard kombucha, and just people watched. Great food. Great staff. Will DEFINITELY return to try more pizzas.

Manav S.

Yelp
Not sure why there's negative reviews. This place is great and reminded me of amazing pies I used to have in the Northeast. Had the Eggplant Parm with sausage add on. The crust was cooked so well and the ingredients were super fresh. I would definitely come here again.

Sierra H.

Yelp
Came by for a quick dinner the other day. The pizza was so amazing and so was the customer service. Riley at the cash register was very kind and recommended us our pizzas and i'm so glad we listened to her! She also offered us our drinks with ice, which was a nice touch. Such a cute local place. I definitely recommend! URBN Encinitas!

Julian c.

Yelp
The salad came out after the pizza but both pizza and salad was really good I recommend

Cally M.

Yelp
Pizza was delicious. Got 2 smalls and it was honestly enough for 4-6 people. Probably the best pizza I have ever had in my life. Pizza is DELICIOUS. Service was awesome, overall vibe is pretty badass and even family friendly. Definitely recommend this place !

Yelp
I like URBN. I've been eating URBN pizza since the beginning when there was one location in Vista and it was owned by a guy named Joe who went to the east coast to study pizza. He copied the white brick, coal-fired oven from my favorite pizza joint, Pepe's, which is located in Little Italy on Wooster street in New Haven, CT not far from Yale University. Frank Pepe's pizza has been around since 1929. My point is, URBN pizza has good intent behind it. That said- save yourself the disappointment and do not order a Caesar salad. By far the most heinous excuse for a salad. Dressing tastes like sour Mayo and the lettuce is wilted and brown. I threw it away. Pizza is ok though. 4 stars is for the pizza. I took away a star for the Caesar.
google avatar

Mark K.

Yelp
I have fond memories of going to Urbn in Vista on the regular and enjoying the crispy, charred thin crust pizza with tasty toppings. I've been to the one in North Park also many years ago. However, this place has jumped the shark. We ordered the Margherita pizza for the kids and got the pepperoni, pepper-chino pizza, and an Italian chopped salad. First indication this place was no good, it was completely empty on a Saturday night and our first option at Buona Forchetta was packed with a 45 min wait. We considered a 10 min drive to Solana Beaches Pizza Port, but it was getting late for the kiddos. Bad decision based on laziness. The pizza was totally soggy. Need to bake for at least a few more minutes. The dough quality has really gone downhill. No longer soft and tasty, it was thin and wet. The pepper-chino pizza was way too acidic and salty. Terrible flavor profile. Much better off at the Costco food court honestly. The hazy ipa was good, and the chopped salad was better. Never going back again though since the bread quality has diminished so much. But we saved a few minutes on the commute and wait times though. Quick seating for a large and noisy group. You get what you are willing to wait for. What you pay for is not what you get here though. Way overpriced for a sloppy wet cardboard pizza that fails on many levels. What irks me is that there is so much better pizza here in every block. Dominos, Costco, even store bought is preferred to this mess. RIP Urbn. New Haven would repudiate you.
