The employees here are very helpful! I had a Smoothie and was able to pick 3 fruits. I chose Strawberry, Banana, & Mango. It was excellent. Not too sweet, though not Sour. My friend had a Nutella baked goods which looked super sweet, but was not. There was a delicate balance between the flavors. My friend had a Mocha with Almond milk. It was also not too sweet. Then they ordered Huevos Rancheros with Spicy Chicken Chorizo added. It was NOT a pork Chorizo. They said that people who like spicy food would not consider the dish spicy. Overall, a great experience.

Urth Caffé in Santa Monica feels like a place you want to linger. The coffee was really good, the snacks were lovely and everything tasted fresh. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, with plenty of space to sit and simply enjoy coffee in peace. And that’s exactly what I did. It’s the kind of spot where time slows down a little and you leave feeling calm and happy.

I ordered a breakfast burrito to go from the online website. I added gouda cheese instead of the mozzarella it came with. I wish the burrito was better, because everything was yummy. But unfortunately the cheese was as HARD AS A ROCK!!!! It felt like the rind of the cheese was shoved into the burrito. I have never had cheese look like that before in a anything I've eaten!!!! Cheese is supposed to be stringy not hard as a hocky puck. I couldn't even bite into it....I had to take it out of my burrito and it totally messed it up. I will add a picture because it is so nasty, I can't believe they allowed their food to be served this way....so disappointed 😔

The GOOD: nice cozy vibes! The coffee latte was good, they offer three caffeine options: strong, median, decaf. The price was good for the portions. The NOT SO GOOD: the green rose tea was too sweet. The green tea muffin and blueberry was very dense, and tasted just fine.

I really love this place! The matcha latte here is amazing. I always order it when I come here with friends. Beautiful presentation, great soft music, and delicious food. I’ll keep coming back again and again.

Stopped by on a late Tuesday morning. It was not as busy and I found free street parking right away. My first time ordering the D'Lox Toast. It comes with a thick slice of English Buckwheat toast. It looked burnt at first glance but it was delicious and would recommend the toast rather than the bagel. It comes with Salmon Lox, tomatoes, red onions, capers, and cream cheese. Service was good as usual. It can be pricey but the quality is good. I only stop by their locations for breakfast/brunch.

One of the best coffee in town. I took a strawberry matcha/latte and both were amazing. The muffin was great too. The vibe of this shop is very cool, a lot of choice. I recommend !!

The food is nice and refreshing with lots of options for people of various dietary restrictions. The vibe is very chill and they have great coffee. I really liked my chicken sandwich I got it was very refreshing. My only complaint is that I personally wasn’t vibing with the music that they were playing at the facility it was like opera-esque music which I don’t like but that’s just me personally. Additionally the space at times felt kind of cramped

We stopped by Urth Caffé in Santa Monica for a quick bite since it's been around forever and used to be one of our go-to neighborhood spots. Sadly, it just doesn't feel the same anymore. We ordered the egg sandwich, eggs Benedict, and tortilla soup, along with a blended iced coffee and a blended matcha. The drinks were great -- honestly, still one of the reasons Urth is worth a stop -- but the food was disappointing. The eggs Benedict came out fully cooked (no runny yolk at all), the egg sandwich was okay but a little bland, and the tortilla soup came out cold and just didn't taste right. Luis, the manager, was really nice and refunded our money, which we really appreciated. But overall, it's sad to see how much the quality in the kitchen has gone downhill. We still think it's a great spot for coffee and pastries, but we'll probably skip the food next time.

On a recent visit. I was devastated not to have time for any of their delicious baked goods, which looked as incredible as always, but did get a chance to enjoy a coffee by the fireplace. It was fairly quiet and beautiful on a Tuesday morning in October.

The best coffee in Los Angeles and great food and dessert options. If you are looking in Santa Monica and looking for a healthy or hearty meal, urth is a solid choice. I've been going since they opened and know several of the staff by name. They always great everyone with a smile and even though it's fast casual (you order at the counter, then they bring everything to you) they aim to please. My favorites include waffle and oatmeal for breakfast. For lunch, I love all their soups, the farmer's salad served with the gorgeous nut and fruit bread, the tostada with grilled chicken, spinach tortilla quesadilla with veggies, and if I'm really hungry the pot roast sandwich served with an au jus on the side. I find their eggs either overcooked or undercooked, so I avoid them. I find their pizzas too bready. Desserts are excellent especially if you are hosting a party, get one of their cakes to go or a bunch of the single pastries. I love their flour less chocolate cake, pumpkin pie, cheese danish, and fruit tart, but you really can't go wrong with anything they offer. They have vegan options for desserts too!

We only came for some caffeine. We saw the Spanish Latte at the top of the espresso menu. It was bolded and in red font so why not give it a shot? Honestly, it wasn't very impressive. It had the typical taste of an espresso with sweetened condensed milk. Lots of ice inside. The first sip reminded me of a modified vietnamese iced coffee. I think there may have been a little bit of a cinnamon taste to it but it was pretty "mid". Service was fast and ambiance was moderate in noise. There were A LOT of people there eating and chatting. Maybe next time we will try their food instead of just a latte. To be fair, the food coming out of the kitchen looked pretty appetizing. Looking forward to coming back to try the rest of their menu!

Mom and Dad have been going to Urth Caffé forever! The food quality is always excellent, and the menu never disappoints. Dad is obsessed with the New York sandwich, and the Kale salad is his all-time favorite. They took me there last week, and I loved the patio. I didn't get to try the changing table in the bathroom, though. Mom said it's located so poorly that when you pull it down, it lands on top of the trash can; she thought it was gross and totally unacceptable. We ended up using my froggy changing pad in the stroller instead, and I had a blast kicking while Mom tried to change me!

The first time I visited Urth Caffé in Santa Monica off Main was the day after my wedding with my husband, my daughter, and my best friend. It couldn't have been a better choice! This place is beautiful and has such a fun, lively vibe. It's also very popular, so be prepared to wait -- but trust me, it's worth it. Once we sat down, everything from the food to the drinks was outstanding. Honestly, it was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. The coffee is amazing, the smoothies are refreshing, and every dish tasted so fresh and flavorful. The only downside is they really need more than two bathrooms for how busy it gets -- but that's a small thing compared to the overall experience. Pro tip: Don't miss the French Toast King, the Eggs Salmone, and a Sunshine Smoothie. Perfect combo!

It's funny this place has been on Main St. now for a long time. It's cool. Good coffee, good food, cool vibe, cool part of Main St. to have an open patio to be able to eat great pastries and drink your coffee

Have been coming to urth for over 10 years and I have to stay the quality has stayed just as great as it was back then! The food I always amazing! The pot roast reminds me of how my mom used to make it! The tomato soup is so simple but so delicious every time! The chicken pesto sandwich also has a great flavor! Overall everything we got was delicious!!

Stopped by for just a matcha! Cute location on Main St. I ordered an iced matcha latte with pistachio milk (think it's new!). It was good but pretty sweet for my liking. Not sure if their matcha is sweetened or the milk itself is sweetened. I actually thought the combo of the matcha and pistachio milk worked really well. It gave me a nice caffeine burst! A little on the pricey side and had to wait a while for it to be ready.

Urth cafe is just one of those places you go to when you want a relaxing, refreshing pick me up. This is by far my favorite Urth location and each time I go I leave satisfied. I'm also really impressed with the transparency within their menu, especially when it comes to gluten-free and vegan items (I am both V +gf). They actually do have quite a bit of items. I love coming here with friends for a relaxing brunch and I always get the Vivicado smoothie (it's one of my favorites) and the portions are actually pretty decent. The service is always great even when it's crowded which it tends to get especially around lunch time. My main complaint about this location is only how crowded the stairs can get when you're looking at menus/ trying to order but it's not the biggest deal. The ambiance is always great and strangely peaceful even when it's crowded. Parking can be a tad annoying on main but it's so worth it. I suggest parking somewhere on 2nd or 3rd street if you can!

Service was great. The cashier was wonderful and polite. I ordered a ham croissant, which was outstanding. Plus they toasted it for me as well. I just tried their regular black coffee and although I'm sure it's pretty good I was not used to how acidic and sour it is compared to most other coffees. Nevertheless, there's so many pastry options that I'll be back at some point.

Came here with my best friend to get some breakfast for his birthday. Line was a wait but that's what you have to expect when you are waiting for quality food. The Belgian waffle was delicious and the Caffé Mocha was very tasty. I appreciated Mireya who took our order. She was fast and efficient when doing so. The atmosphere was relaxing as we had the ocean breeze close to us and lovely trees all over. I would come back here as the coffee was tasty, the food was solid, the workers were quick, and the seating was very clean and comfortable. Be ready to wait in line but be ready to enjoy what you order.

Poach Di Parma - earthy savory flavor from the mushrooms and arugula. soft poached eggs were perfectly runny but not liquid messy. Good toast and yummy prosciutto. The fresh fruit is a nice touch to balance out the heavier main Chocolate Pistachio Waffle - omg so delicious I would go back just for this waffle. The matcha cream is light with so much sweet rich flavor and every bite made me want more. They do not skimp on the fruits and drizzle. And the waffle itself was crisp and fluffy. Ambiance and Service - nice outdoor patio with heat lamps and ample seating. Good service, easy to place order. Food so well made that a wait (just a brief one) was worth it

Urth caffe is a nice place to buy food, serving yourself and picking your own place. I'm just surprised by all the sold-outs for online order in the morning. The Moroccan green tea drink is actually made with matcha, not green tea. I enjoy the waffle. It was crispy and nice with acai, it isn't the most extraordinary though. The bread was burnt. The beef hash was alright. I have nothing to complain. We didn't wait too long on Sunday noon. There was no line. The line formed when we finished ordering. I love the outdoor seating and self-serve fruity water. So I don't need to wait for people to come around and take my order. I come here several times already.

My go to location and always tasty fresh food. The menu can be overwhelming but there's options for everyone. They make not just cafe lattes and pastries but entrees as well. Highly recommend try any items that catch your attention. Usually can't complain about the food and drinks. Even on busy days the staff are very accommodating and nice. Had front, indoor, side, and back patio seating. Water closets located left of cashier.

I love the ambience at Urth. It's open air, animal friendly, and yet still given to quiet conversation inside or outside on their patio. The drinks are delicious and served quickly. The pastries and muffins looked so delicious, I almost couldn't resist! They keep 2 large glass water containers on their counter filled with water and fresh fruit to help keep you hydrated. I'm impressed ! I will definitely come back whenever I'm in the area.

Urth Caffe is a popular European-style café that offers robust coffee, teas, smoothies, breakfast and pastries. This location is in Santa Monica. What I like about this cafe is their use 100% natural ingredients completely free of any artificial ingredients or GMOs. We came on a weekday. Interior design has a Euro style and layout was not spacious and can get crowded easily especially on weekends. Service was slow. Staff was affable, competent and professional. Prices seem fair. I ordered an Urth Coffee Latte and a Double chocolate croissant. Both were good. Finding a parking spot can be challenging but not impossible; public lots available around the area. Overall, it's a decent coffee shop. I recommend you check them out.

It's just a 5-minute walk from Santa Monica Beach, and it never disappoints. The drinks here are consistently excellent -- organic teas and coffees that are fresh, rich, and flavorful. I almost always order the Mediterranean plate, which is fresh, flavorful, and generous in portion -- it's never disappointed me once. I recall the days when every trip to LA consists of a trip to an Urth Caffe. For old time sake, we made a stop. While most items we bought were good like the french toast and special pistachio waffles which was decadent - definitely an indulging treat. What was disappointing was the green tea blended drink with boba which I fondly get, but the boba was undercooked and hard. For something that is a staple of the menu, I expected a little bit more quality. Queue still forms, and that's to be expected wherever Urth may be.

Food quality is always good and coffee is great (I take it black so can't comment on the coffee mixed drinks). It gets very busy so come early!! Arrived at 10am on a Sunday and found a few empty tables, it was packed by 1030. French toast and D'lox toast for us was filling but not heavy. Also had an almond croissant, not the best I've had but formidable!

Came here on a Friday night with some friends and decided to try the french toast with ice cream as well as the espresso which costed a grand total of $30. With the food and drinks being as over priced as they are, the espresso shot was lackluster and incredibly acidic to say the least. The french toast was reasonably sized, however I would say that it is definitely not worth the high price point of $25. They have outdoor and indoor seating, however the seats inside are limited. The service is friendly but can be a little slow depending on how busy they are. Parking: paid street parking

This place is so good with a great cafe vibe. Friendly service you order up front then go sit down and they give you a number to put on your table so they can bring out the food to you. I was confused with the set up at first. Friendly service - my daughter had the chicken soup and a delicious mango coconut smoothie - Ample seating outside and inside with decent prices. Free refreshing fruit water is on the counter as well. My Spanish latte was delicious!

Coming back to Urth for a Sunday brunch after some yrs we were disappointed with our order. The French toast king came out cold so had to ask to remake its supposed to be warm hello French toast? So now our coffee and side of eggs with sausage (which were nothing special) were getting cold. It was nothing to rave about no flavor and didn't look like the picture on menu. Would not order again. We did like their waffle years ago maybe we should have ordered that instead. Coffee was ok decaf latte with oat was a bit strong 16oz. I also noticed baked good in case had so many gnats flying around and on them yuck! Service was fine but feel it's gone downhill since then. Did not enjoy our meal.

I live right across the street and sometimes when I'm ready to have dinner I will think about that awesome turkey burger with salad. The turkey is out of this world! I don't get the mustard I order it with mayonnaise with the extra mayo on the side. Just doing this review I wanna go and get one now, that's how good it is. I highly recommend everyone should try the turkey burger! It is five star! I would leave a picture but I already ate it! That's how good it is. Next time I'll remember to take a pic of that beautiful turkey burger! And salad.

Love Urth! Great atmosphere, vibe, wonderful staff. I will say though the food cuts are noticeable. Today I ordered 2 turkey burgers and they had one tiny piece of lettuce and the butt of a tomato (also tiny). This food is so high quality delicious and expensive, I do expect a realistic amount of toppings on my burger. The turkey tasted great.

I was a little disappointed in my meal. I got a Reuben and house salad. The Reuben had a different flavor that I couldn't place. Let me just say... it was okay. Not bad. But not great. It was also on the small side. My salad was very plain. The dressing was on the sour side too. I needed more protein in the salad. My husbands iced coffee was weak. I think I'll give them one more try. Next time I'll get things that they are known for. I thought their service was very good. There was a long line. But it moved fast. Food was brought out quickly. The servers were nice. The ambiance was great. I enjoyed eating outside in the back area. A little more privacy there. Like I said, I'll give them one more try because of their good reputation and nice atmosphere.

Decided to check this place out. There was a line, so it had to be really good or a lot of people have bad choice in food. Happy to say, the food was delicious. The service was great and the ambiance was cute and welcoming so I loved it all. We will definitely be back, so many things to pick from. Even your picky eater can find something. My family rated everything they tried a 5 plus star so we are excited to go back and find more things on their menu.

My favorite place ever. Urth can never dissapoint me. It's one of my comfort places and I wish I could have this in my hometown. They have many gluten free options and I appreciate that! I'm always leaving full and happy. Service is amazing and I always feel at peace here. Urth is honestly the highlight of my trip whenever i come to la.

I love coming to Urth Cafe. Been here quite a few times. It's a small location, and does get busy depending on what time you go. We tend to go right as they open or shortly after so we don't struggle finding a seat and beat the busyness. There's indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoors allows dogs which has always been helpful for us with our four legged kids. I tend to always go for their Urth Breakfast with a croissant, brie cheese, and raspberry jam. Always so good and filling for me. Croissant is always so fluffy and toasted just the right amount. My husband is the one who has tried their burritos, waffles, monkey bread, oatmeal. Ive tried some of his items here and there and they are always so good. Ive tried a few different lattes. I like that they give you the option of what roast you want. They have all been quite good. Love coming here and we will continue to come.

Urth is always busy, but the food is great. Personally I love the pastries, but can't go wrong with any of the their sandwiches. The portabello panini is my favorite!

This place feels like home! The workers are so nice and happy to tell you their favorites from the menu and gear you towards the perfect choice! I ordered a matcha boba with almond milk, they told me the matcha and the Thai tea are the most popular for the boba drinks. I had mine over ice and not blended, my friend ordered the red Thai tea boba blended. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed our drinks and be had a cookie as well. People near by enjoyed sandwiches and salads that looked fresh and delicious. Inside was a cafe feel and outside on the patio was very charming and relaxing. I would definitely go back for lunch, a date, or to take friends and family. Park on the street! Pastries are all made fresh daily

Always enjoy a Spanish latte from Urth caffe. No one makes it quite like they do. Service is generally quick but can take a bit longer on weekends. Self seating can sometimes be challenging. They have a diverse menu with a lot of great choices. Don't miss their desserts. They are to die for

I ordered my (used to be) favorite salad from Urth and was disappointed that they don't seem to chop their lettuce anymore and must have some sort of black bean shortage. I had maybe 1 tablespoon of black beans at the bottom of my tostada. And, as you can see from my video, I have no idea why they are not chopping salad anymore. No knives? Why did I pay over $18 for lettuce with a few slices of chicken on it??? Hmmmm... What's happening Urth?

Beautiful cafe with lovely seating, great menu options including a delicious Spanish latte - and fast service! Employees here are always kind and professional and they keep the place nice and clean. I highly recommend Urth Cafe for a meal or even just a coffee or delicious dessert.

I've seen this cafe in another city but didn't get to try. I'm so glad we gave it a try when in Santa Monica! They do a line both morning we visited but the line moved fast and it was easy to get a table. I was in shock at how reasonable the prices were and the portion was so worth it! Everything we order was so good and I wish we were able to try more item from the menu!! I absolutely loved the earl grey tiramisu, the Spanish latte, and the avocado toast was massive with a side of fruit. We also got a croissant to go but I didn't get to try it. The cafe itself is very "earthy" and spacious. The service was quick. I'd def come back again!

The coffee is SO good some of the best I had! My meal was good but I personally wouldn't get it again nothing was wrong with it I just didn't like the meal. I been to this location many times there is always seating no matter how busy it gets and you get your food in pretty good timing! I will definitely be coming back!

$20 for a cookie and a latte. Stood by 4 dirty tables and finally had to clean one myself. 25 minutes later, no latte. But an employee did come sit next to me on a table he cleared for his plate of food. And proceeded to talk loudly on his cell phone. Urth, please Train your Staff.

Good brunch spot, space to enjoy the weather, lots of varied options on the menu. THE WAIT ~10 minute wait in line at 11am on a Monday. The line came and went, at points. THE COST $87.87 total including tax/tip for brunch for 3 entrees, 2 coffees, 1 dessert. THE FOOD * Nutella Girella Buns - 5 stars Buttery flaky crust, rich nutella and hazelnuts. Everyone loved this, but also 4 of us had to share it and still couldn't finish it! * King french toast - 3.5 stars A huge serving! Moist in the middle, a little dry on the edges. Fruit not the most fresh (strawberries a little underripe). * Green Rose Latte - 4 stars Lovely and tasty, nice thick foam. My friend got the iced version and enjoyed it too; they strangely give a boba straw for this!

Urth Caffé is a staple in our weekly lunch rotation. Their pesto chicken sandwich is always a hit, super flavorful and consistently good. I also can't get enough of their oatmeal raisin cookies; they're soft, chewy, and just the right amount of sweet. Most of their desserts are excellent, especially the berries and cream cake and the churro delight. I also really loved the Earl Grey tiramisu they used to have, wish they'd bring it back! There was one time I ordered the Caesar salad and noticed the lettuce had started turning red, which was a bit of a letdown. But aside from that, the quality is usually great and the flavors keep us coming back.

Several years ago we had stopped at Urth and were blown away by some of the lattes. I'm so glad we were abel to come back after so long and it still be just as good! This time though we also got food and were able to enjoy everythign they had to offer! There is a line and they are busy but you can tell they work hard to make sure they can fit everyone in. They have a very impressive list of drinks, with some combinations of flavors you haven't tried elsewhere. As for food we grabbed a few pastries and I had a breakfast burrito as well. It was delicious and super filling so no complaints there.

Just updating. It was pointed out in the reply to my last review is that the people who bring you your food are not servers. Silly me, I used the wrong word for the people who bring you your food it seems. I mean, aren't they "serving" you your food? A couple of friends had decided they wanted to go the other day and I gave in. Same long line. Same waiting for food. Same as last time that the SERVERS weren't really able to keep up and 2 out of 4 of us had cold food. We had 2 sets of table numbers but ordered right after the other. I am adding a picture of an employee serving food but I guess he's not a server. You can tell that petty nitpicking of words has annoyed me, and that the reply 1) made it sound like it was an ad, and 2) that I'm an idiot.

We ordered 4 pizzas and 4 sandwiches, but after waiting, the staff came out to tell us they only had one pizza left -- and honestly didn't seem to care. We had to order replacement dishes for the pizzas, but they forgot half of them. On the third try, they still didn't bring out one of the replacements (a kids' mac and cheese), and after an hour, we were finally told they were out of mac and cheese. To make it worse, there are supposedly nine health code violations, and the front desk staff was rude. Overall, an incredibly disappointing experience -- would not recommend.
