Rick Bayless Unveils Effort to Provide Laid-Off Restaurants Workers With Jobs | Eater Chicago

"A Rosemont-based foodservice distributor that partnered with chef Rick Bayless to scale a relief effort for laid-off restaurant workers, initially making a one-time food donation that was expanded into a larger program. An anonymous donor’s $250,000 was used to purchase groceries from the distributor, which now supplies items that are organized into boxes for distribution across Chicago. The distributor is also involved operationally in the initiative and its leadership says the funds on hand can sustain the program for roughly eight to ten weeks while the organization seeks additional support from foundations and manufacturers." - Elias Cepeda

Their small green Roseli crushed red pepper packets taste of mold with no spicyness at all. Why would you package and mass produce mold? I'm a truck driver and have had multiple encounters with moldy crushed red pepper packets all across America at truckstops from this company!

US Foods is a great company with quality food products. They care about providing the best for each customer while also sharing ideas to develop new menu items and save money.

It has come to my attention that US Foods has a policy that may cause inconvenience to hardworking drivers during pickups and deliveries. Specifically, it seems that drivers are not permitted to use restrooms during these times. I understand that there may be operational reasons behind this policy, but it would be greatly appreciated if US Foods could consider providing portable restrooms for drivers to use while on the premises. This would demonstrate a commitment to the well-being and comfort of the drivers who play a vital role in the company's operations. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Gampac Logistics. Anthony Wells is so poor and dishonest at his job as a broker it is disappointing. They're willing to communicate with you a million times with no issue, until you deliver that load. Once that load is off the truck they won't even answer a simple email. Will never put another one of their loads on my truck. Owner Operators stay away you will regret it and they don't pay their detention.

Bismarck has terrible Transportation department. Gabriel is the worst to deal with. Wasn’t a good driver, not a good manager.

A U.S. Foods truck driver made a left turn into a crosswalk where my wife, my daughter, and I were walking (with the light) and stopped to yell at us. This company needs to hire safer (and saner) drivers.

Use these guys, drop Sysco like a bad habit. Holy cow, I called both to set up accounts for a startup. US Foods was nice, accommodating and knowledgeable. They are passing my info to a rep, we are off to the races! Sysco (see my review of them) told me they didn't think I could meet their minimums (this on a startup projected to do several million in sales per year) and when I took offense to that, they refused to give us to a rep because we don't yet have a commercial address. They told me to use a church or school, but never mentioned a synagogue or mosque. I wonder if they are both: Bigoted and pretentious? Because thats how they handled my request.
