"Whether it’s post-party or post-study, late-night food cravings are real. There aren’t a lot of foods that satisfy a late-night palate quite as well as a falafel wrap or a chicken shawarma, and no place around campus does a better job than USA Halal—a trailer with a couple of small tables in the TCBY parking lot on MLK. The menu looks almost identical to other halal spots around town—expect to find all the usual classics—but the well-seasoned meats, perfectly fluffy pitas, and friendly service all make USA Halal our favorite option in the area.  " - nicolai mccrary, raphael brion

"I recently had the pleasure of trying out a local food truck, and it was an absolute delight! The menu was small but packed with flavor, offering a range of creative dishes that combined fresh ingredients with bold, unique flavors. I tried their signature taco, which was loaded with perfectly seasoned meat, fresh veggies, and a tangy sauce that tied everything together beautifully. The portion size was generous, and the food was served hot and fast. It's clear that the chefs here take pride in their craft, delivering gourmet quality at a street food price. If you're looking for a quick, delicious bite on the go, this food truck is a must-visit!"

Usually i'm not a huge fan of Mediterranean, this place was open late and someone recommended I at least try it. My mind has been changed, puts the Mediterranean in my home state to shame. Chicken Kabob Plate rocks and the beef fries are great. Guys running the place are chill and nice as well. If you're sticking around in the nearby hotels: drop by this place at least once before you go.

I wanted a tasty gyro for lunch and Google informed this is nearby, so I walked there to find this food truck next to a disused Baskin Robbins and strip mall with no real parking. The gentleman working there was watching something on his smartphone when I approached and did not look up. However, once he put his phone down, service was friendly and prompt and he soon provided my rather expensive gyro wrap and coke. The wrap was tasty, and I appreciated it was NOT messy, despite the presence of good sauce. HOWEVER The meat was poor quality. Specifically, it was fatty and chewy which made it unpleasant by the time I finished. I would not return for a mediocre, slightly expensive meal.

Google
Great food and amazing customer service. The owner is very friendly, welcoming and hospitable. It was too sunny and hot when I went there. The owner gave me complimentary water bottle while I was waiting for my to go order. Its the little things that matter along with delicious food.

The food is really good. Authentic halal food. Drove all the way from Dallas to Austin and then tried it for the first time. The owner makes the food who is a really friendly guy. Will definitely come back again and again.

Google
Excellent late night eats with a great atmosphere! I had a chicken shawarma wrap and it was amazing. I also loved the cute, colorful seating area enclosed with a picket fence. My friends and I had so much fun and definitely recommend trying it out!

Yelp
For a food truck parked a block from hotel in which we took back some small snack items of hummus, bread and falafel, we thought this was pretty good. A great snack for afternoon really. The falafel was warm, fresh and perfectly cooked. It came with bread and two great dipping sauces which were good and added unique flavor to the falafel outside a normal hummus dip. The hummus was fresh too and had almost a small olive oil float to it which was tasty. It too came with bread. The guy behind the register was smily and seemed grateful for our business. We would not hesitate to recommend and also eat an actual meal here the next time we were in Austin. A happy little truck and a nice place to grab a bite for us while staying at the Otis Hotel a block and a half away.

Yelp
I don't know what I ordered as I'm not familiar with this cuisine. Now I am! It was a bowl of chicken with rice, veggies, and some sour and spicy sauce. After a night at the moody center for a concert this hit different. Very tasty food and a nice selection. Great we had a pita bread come on the side as it made a epic gyro thing.

Bella G.

Yelp
order- gyro plate USA Halal came in clutch. I literally inhaled this meal. It was a good sized portion and the meat was seasoned well. I'm so happy I was able to get it. ‍

Yelp
I was looking for a place to eat after ACL this weekend and I saw this place was open late so I was instantly interested. We were STARVING and let me tell you we got a spread, we got the fries, the hummus, the chicken wings, the chicken shawarma and the tikka chicken. IT WAS SO GOOD. Everything was amazing, it was so good I forgot to take a picture of all the food. The man working was so quick and helpful! All of our food was out in about 10 mins and he was packed. I was walking distance from our hotel and let me tell you, the next time we are in Austin we will be back! If you looking for your new favorite late night spot, this is it.

Yelp
Amazing food truck! Good location, limited parking, but it was clear when we got there. Good service, cute patio for where it's at, delicious food. Also loved that they had fair portions. Highly recommend, will definitely be back. I would try the combo chicken and lamb over rice plate.

Jade E.

Yelp
Consistently consistently CONSISTENTLY good! My favorite place to eat and ALWAYS kind service.

Scarlet. E.

Yelp
Picked up my daughter after a concert and stopped by because we were hungry which was at 1 in the morning LOL! Anyways my daughter got a shrimp plate and I got the falafel wrap, definitely try this place! Average time to wait and customer service wasn't bad at all, nice guy. But the food, let me say just fantastic! Super good

Yelp
My request for halal food continues, and it started after attending my daughter's track event downtown. While the young people socialized at Cane's. My wife and I ventured east on MLK for some frozen yogurt and lo and behold a food truck serving Halal goodies was in the parking lot. We reviewed the menu and decided on the combo over rice and a chicken shwarma over rice. Within 10 minutes, the chef/owner presented us with 2 hot meals. My wifes wrap was filled with tender chicken, lettuce and sauce which was spicy. And, I was presented with the combo over rice. I routinely get this combination and wasn't disappointed. Thr difference between this combo and the others is the personal touch. The lamb and chicken were extremely flavorful, the hot sauce added a nice punch , and the salad was quite refreshing. Finally, this establishment provides hearty halal dishes with a personal touch. I will frequent this restaurant again, and you must try there offerings if you are on the strip. If I lived or worked close by, I would be a larger man...

Samantha M.

Yelp
Literally just go here nothing will disappoint! Ali has poured his heart and soul into the food truck and you can tell.

Lindsey W.

Yelp
This place isn't too far from my office so I stopped by, glad I did. The sauce is really flavorful (get it spicy!) and the wrap was thick with filling, way more than I could eat in one sitting.

Cory P.

Yelp
Legit food, easily as good as Halal Guys if not better...fairly priced. Solid dependable Grub and the latest place open in this area?!

Melinda N.

Yelp
I've had this place twice because it's walking distance from my office and easy to order for pick up from the yelp app. The falafel plate is good. The falafel is nice and crunchy with sauce. It's bland without sauce though. I also got the gyro wrap which was delicious. Both are under $10 and adds variety to the options in the area. A 12oz can of soda is about $1.60. It's a food truck with tables to eat at if you want. Or you can walk across the street and enjoy your food under some shade on a bench.

Grace H.

Yelp
Solid food truck that stays parked across the south end of the business building on campus. You can get a filling meal for under ten bucks. Highly suggest the lamb meat in any form. It's super good. They pack the wraps full of meat and fillings. Skip the dolmas...I was expecting homemade, but I'm pretty sure they could me from a can. Friendly staff, fun music, and will definitely come back whenever I'm in town.

Eleanor R.

Yelp
Walked by after a concert. Great food and service. Got gyro wrap and gyro fries both Spicy. Had a little kick but not overwhelming...if you wanted more I'm sure you could get more sauce. Got the baklava and it was decent seemed homemade.

Juan P.

Yelp
Honestly one of the best spots for halal food It's very good I highly recommend this place my favorite thing is the chicken swarma wrap I've gotten it a lot of times and it's very consistent on the flavor it hasn't disappointed me once I will continue to come to this place as long as it's open the owner it's very nice respectful and makes me feel welcome every time

Hunter M.

Yelp
Very friendly owner and awesome food on a consistent basis! Also a very quick option in case you're in a hurry.

Monkey T.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Hands down best Halal in town. The owner is so nice and makes the food so quick! Perfection! Cant go wrong with the chicken fries!

Alex M.

Yelp
Whether you're an Austin resident looking for the nearest food truck by UT or simply visiting and enjoying all the beautiful tourism Austin has to offer, one can not step foot inside this city without experiencing the wonderful journey of taste known as USA Halal. Ali, the friendly and down-to-earth manager of this 5-star restaurant on wheels, personally hand-makes every single order in front of his customers, being sure to pay attention to every single detail of the meal. Worthy of winning the Nobel Prize, no matter what you order, the entire menu of USA Halal will be sure to add an explosion of Mediterranean tastes and spices for whoever is lucky enough to experience. Be sure to make your way here next time you find yourself in the promise land.

Jennifer V.

Yelp
Love this place. I come here when I have the chance to when I work downtown and the food is just simply amazing, so fresh so flavourful, on top of that the owner is very sweet! if you're looking for some HALAL COME HERE! I have been coming here for 2 years.

Autum G.

Yelp
This is the best halal place around! After trying several near UT campus, my friends and I all agree this little food truck is the best, hands down. It's consistently great each and every time! I recommend to get the falafel plate or chicken plate.

Robert G.

Yelp
USA Halal is absolutely one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. I am truly astonished by how Ali, the professional, Michelin-star chef (probably) is able to master the art of authentic mediterranean food. I would never step foot into or up to another Halal restaurant. Ali, you are truly the most family-oriented man i've ever met. Austinites, Students, and Tourists: USA Halal is a hidden gem. Never make the mistake of coming to Austin and missing this 5-star gourmet food truck.

Faizan K.

Yelp
YOU HAVE TO COME HERE! The best hidden food truck, may be new. Amazing service, food . Highest quality

Zaz F.

Yelp
I first discovered this halal spot on UberEats platform. Now we go direct when we can. So much to love about this food trailer and their food: Wonderfully spiced gyro and chicken. Salads with fresh and finely chopped produce. Love how they add pickles to the salad - very authentic take. And great service!

Humza B.

Yelp
Great gyro wraps! Very flavorful and filling. The man running this place is very kind. Hidden gen near campus.

Bruce C.

Yelp
Me and my girlfriend love this place! Our favorite is the lam kebab over rice and is the best over rice Ive ever had.

Vanessa B.

Yelp
This place is so good. I ordered a bunch of food to take home for my family and it was all outstanding. The dolma is the best I've had in Austin. The beef salad was ridiculously good and the hummus was spot on. I don't say any of this lightly. Go try this place!
