Ushio Sushi

This has got to me my favorite sushi spot in Davie. It’s about to be my number one favorite in all of Fort Lauderdale because they have Bluefin Tuna everyday. For the cocktail I like the Yuzu Drop because it’s taste like a lime creamsicle. The Yaketo Roll and Yaki Udon are heavenly. The service is top notch. As soon as you walk in you are greeted and seated. Highly recommend that you guys try the Thai Tea, Hamachi Kama and the Yakitori. Everything served fresh and made to order is the best part about this restaurant. They even have cotton candy. Definitely worth checking out and it won’t break the bank.

This is a hole in the wall with delicious food. The flavor brings you back. I find the octopus among the top 5 in South Florida. The wild fire, Jalapeño Hamachi and salmon sashimi are worth coming back. For us, this place is a sure thing.

Vanessa and Ad riana were amazing! I really decided to eat here off of the atmosphere however the food did not disappoint either. The Davie Roll is amazing along with the Nova roll which me and my brother tried. The original plan was to go to Chili’s for the lava cake ice cream combo. However the Tai Donuts and cotton candy combo out done my expectations. They also have a wide variety of sake to try. Please stop in and try the Gyoza also with deep fried being a popular option

My FAVORITE sushi of all time. They use fresh, high quality fish, and you can taste the difference. Every time I’m in town I have to stop by my go-to sushi place. Plus the ambiance is so cute! Don’t be fooled by outside. I love the trendy decor, beautiful decor, it makes the perfect romantic date night and I love taking my friends here. We tried the new sake cocktails and they were phenomenal.

By far the best sushi/poke spot in town by a mile. Always extremely fresh and never low quality. Best service and tasting fish I’ve had in the area. Love that you can tell it’s fresh caught and high quality. Highly recommend. And their lunch special is so worth it!

Amazing Catering Experience! I recently used Ushio Sushi for catering an event, and I was absolutely blown away by their service! From start to finish, everything was handled with the utmost professionalism. The manager was incredibly helpful, attentive to every detail, and made sure our catering needs were perfectly met. The sushi was fresh, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. Every single guest raved about the quality and variety of the dishes. The presentation was elegant, and the flavors were outstanding. The food not only looked great but tasted even better. What truly set Ushio Sushi apart was their exceptional customer service. The team was punctual, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure our event was a success. I couldn't have asked for a better catering experience. It was family trip and ordered omakse for me and food for my wife bc she can't eat raw fish. As a sushi lover I got recommendation from my friend and it was disappointing. The food like fried rice and roll was okay but Sashimi cut was horrible. The sashimi was not cleanly sliced but rather torn and messy in appearance. The filleting was poorly done, which significantly impacted both the texture and taste except for salmon and tuna. It fell far short of expectations, and I was very disappointed. The basic service was fine, but the variety of fish served was disappointing. It seemed like the same type of fish was presented repeatedly, just cut from different parts to appear varied. I asked a staff member to explain what kinds of fish were being served, and they said they would check with the chef and get back to me — but no one followed up. I could have raised the issue further at the table, but since I was dining with family, I didn’t want to create a negative atmosphere. However, I do feel it’s important to leave an honest review.

Excellent takeout! Very fresh and well prepared. Easy to order and such a great deal. Will absolutely return! The large platter is the sushi-sashimi combo for 2, the medium platter is a rainbow roll, dragon roll, and spider roll, and the small is the crazy crispy tuna roll. Spring rolls also pictured.

We have lost count of how many times we've come to have sushi here. One of the best sushi spots we have discovered so far. Especially if you are a fan of sashimi and Nigiri. The fish is always very fresh! The cuts are decently sized, and the price for the platter is unbeatable (60$). They rotate the fish often so you get to try different variety. The place is cozy. And the service is always on point and pretty fast. We've been attended by every server there in are always very happy with our service. Must try!

We went on a Friday night around 7. The aesthetic is simple , the establishment has photos around the restaurant and elevator like music in the background . It was pretty empty when we arrived. As a result the service was very attentive due to not being busy. They immediately served us water and the condiments for sushi. My date and I both ordered the Yuzu drop. It was good but surprisingly thick which is because of the cloudy saki. I personal was not a huge fan. I wouldn't get it again. Nothing against the drink, just not my particular preference for a drink. I would have gotten the lycheetini but they said they did not have it that particular day. We got the jalapeño hamachi and mix tempura for apps. They were good but they were also very simple dishes to begin with. The mix tempura only had two small pieces of shrimp. I felt they could have given either bigger pieces or at least one more. For sushi we did the spicy salmon roll and red dragon. The sushi was very bland. For such basic rolls, I would have expected more flavor and just an overall fresher taste. Although the rice ratio was good, there was more fish to rice ratio, the overall quality was average. I would not go to this place again and probably wouldn't order takeout either. Just better options in the area. However, for a quick, attentive dinner- it may be a good option for other people.

Lunch Special Poke Bowls where you can choose up to 5 items for your bowl for $12.95 is not only a steal but a fulfilling, light, on-the-healthier side, great idea. Love me a sushi date at Ushio. There's new decor. And OPEN ALL DAY (confirmed this March of 2025). They no longer close for lunch. I'm so glad I tried something new at my favorite local sushi spot.

My husband and I are on vacation and went for lunch. We ordered two appetizers (miso soup and edamame) and they were average! But he ordered the seafood ramen and I ordered the caterpillar sushi and crab salad! OMG!! Everything was SO delicious... even the iced tea was the best I've ever had! 20/10!! We will definitely be back!!

Nice little sushi spot across from tower shops. We also got a JB roll and a fire dragon which was so gooood. The salmon was so fresh. Overall food was really good and the vibe was really nice. Will definitely go back!

This will be my new go to sushi spot. I was greeted promptly as I walked in and the service is fast and friendly. I went one night for dinner and was back the next day for lunch. I asked my waitress for a recommendation and she was very knowledgeable. The place can be nice for a date night or just to hang with friends or family. Not suspect fancy but enough to dress up a little bit for. The night I went I ordered the Davie roll and the tonkotsu ramen spicy which were both delicious. So much so that I took a bowl of ramen to go for my mom and the rest of my sushi for my daughter. My daughter loved it so much that she asked to return again the next day for lunch, so we did. They have really nice and affordable lunch specials as well as happy hour specials. The food is also really affordable so we will be back !!!

They need to update the restaurant information I went to that restaurant because on google and on yelp have pictures of the little plates that goes around and you have to pick, just to find out they don't have that anymore, it was very disappointing

Came here based on the good reviews and always looking for a new sushi spot. Well let me tell you - this place was amazing. Everything was delicious!! The gyoza was packed with yummy pork. The dragon roll and special dragon were on point. The sushi fresh and delicious. Then to top it off we were offered complimentary cotton candy ..... whaaat. Yes please We will be back for sure

I went with a group of friends. The food was absolutely delicious. The sushi was very fresh. From the sashimi to the sushi you couldn't go wrong. Our server Savannah was amazing. Her suggestions were great. I love that wide array of sake from dry to sweet. The place has music playing in the background that just made the place even more enjoyable. I definitely need to come back for the omakase.

Really great sushi restaurant, tucked away in a shopping center in Davie!! I tried the Chef's Special Omakase- with caviar added into it ($70 total). I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the fish of each piece of nigiri. I did not like a couple pieces because they were extremely chewy (not sure if it was because of the type of fish, or because it was not scored properly), but other than that I enjoyed the meal. And you can't beat this price point for omakase! The Thai donuts are clearly just fried Pillsbury donuts, but they are still amazing! Crispy and flaky, with a sweet thick icing to dip them in; highly recommend for dessert!!

A great spot for sushi in Davie! I usually come here for lunch if I plan to stop by Jade Tea House which is right next door. I love their lunch specials here and will usually come with a friend or two. For some of their lunch options, they have bento boxes, sashimi lunch combo, poke bowls and more. I have tried a variety of the choices and have never been disappointed! The inside is spacious and clean. There are a good amount of booths and it's never been overly crowded when I've visited. The service is super friendly and very fast. I usually can do lunch here within in hour, which is record time! A great biz to visit if you're craving sushi or some Japanese classic dishes for lunch.

Deliciously fresh, def get the sushi and sashimi. If they are offering the omakase, please go for it. Amazing fresh fish picks that's brought in daily, the staff is pretty fun and amazing and they're able to accommodate large parties. I ordered the sashimi omakase and it did not disappoint. My eyes rolled back everytime I took a bite. Price is not that bad either. It is soo good that you will keep ordering different sushi rolls and hand rolls. Ambiance was very nice, since they renovated, they got rid of the conveyor belts and the place looks more updated but still cozy

I usually come here for lunch during the week. They have a pretty good special where you can pick 3 different rolls and you get 4 pieces of each with a soup or salad. Today i got the tuna tacos and fiesta roll. So delicious. Service was prompt. Low key energy. Great local restaurant for sushi. Not too big of a spot. Maybe 5 booths and several tables. Great for post workout sushi. Btw the tuna quality isnt as great an imperial or kub kao. Still good to have in rotation.

wow ok so this is now my go-to spot, everytime I'm mixing it up trying new stuff and last night blew my mind, I had the Yaketa roll, with the chef special roll customised by the chef trusting in them they did not disappoint. The best spicy edamame, the spicy crispy tuna, and the best pork bao buns every the people the service the atmosphere is just so good every one always happy and I will be coming back again. Nice simple place for casual dinner or lunch, very affordable. And food is fresh. I like that they use to give you an options of smaller rolls or bigger rolls. Service is mild. Not great not bad.

Came here for dinner with a group of friends. The sushi was so fresh and delicious! Service was good. There was a great selection of rolls and cooked food to choose from. My son got the ramen and enjoyed it. The kaarage chicken was delicious. My favorite were the handrolls. They definitely dont skimp on the filling. They were stuffed with fish til the ever end! I would definitely go back just for the handrolls!

They have the freshest Sushi in South Florida! Friendly staff and clean restaurant! They also have a full Asian kitchen so if you don't like Sushi you can still enjoy many options.

Great place to eat for lunch or dinner. They offer lunch specials which is normally a soup of salad and then an entree. The salad is delicious; it a mix or spring greens and lettuce so it's more nutrious and crunchy. Parking is very easy to find. They have have about 14 tables and a sushi bar you can sit at so there's little to no wait for a table. Lighting is a little dim and gives a nice atmosphere. Place is very clean. Service is quick. Highly recommend!

We had the lunch special and it was great, i highly recommend the sweet potato roll. Our server madilyn was so nice and kind! When we went it was empty but it's obvious this place gets a bustling ambiance very quickly cause of the food quality.

Great food and service! We had a large group with kids and they accomodated us quickly. Sashimi deluxe was fresh and Miami Heat rolls were good! Will be back!

Really nice service here, our server was nice and our food came out fast. The ambiance was quiet. They had a really nice wine selection and a good price point on the wine. As far as rolls go, the best one was the Spicy Tuna Roll. The Fiesta roll was just okay. We ended throwing away the Monster Roll, it was very thick and chewy.

I came here for lunch with a friend who highly recommended it. They have so many lunch specials it's amazing, and they're all under $11. The lunch menu included Sushi hand rolls, poke bowls, Ramen, Etc. My friend and I both went with the ramen bowl which comes with a small poke bowl. I had the pork Ramen and the poke bowI with eel. For the Poke you can choose salmon, tuna, spicy tuna or eel. The lunch also comes with a choice of salad or miso soup. I went with the salad which comes with the most amazing carrot ginger dressing and tons of carrots. I enjoyed my meal and would definitely come back here. The service was very good.

The service was prompt, polite and pleasant. The sushi was great the rice was fresh and fluffy cooked just right and not smashed together into a paste like some other places. I loved the tiger roll personally. I would only comment about the edamame, I had it recently at a different restaurant and they had significantly larger pods (more than two or even one bean(s) in a pod). It was cooked right and nicely, lightly salted but there were many empty & small pods or more so disappointing not having more to eat out of it.

I've been ordered Sushi&Sashimi combo 2, still amazing, delicious food! Great ambiance, Great customer service. S lot of variety of fish / they have real Bluefin tuna, it's so yummy!

I just had to write another review for this amazing restaurant. Their menu is extensive, our server Savanah was attentive and so sweet. The sushi is extremely high level quality! They blow away all the other sushi bars in the area. You will not be disappointed. Going back for omakase in a couple weeks for my birthday.

Super fresh fish for decent prices. Their Omakase price is one of the best value for what you get. We came kind of late almost last min to closing yet the fish quality was AMAZING. Usually near closing the quality of alot of restaurants drops significantly but not this place. Everything we ordered came out great without any issue that I could deem negative. Only one of our order did not came out and it was the Inari sushi, but they were about to close and ran out. That was mainly my fault for coming in so late. I would for sure come back earlier next time! 10/10 would recommend. I recommend everyone to try their salmon belly, otoro, hamachi belly & negitoro roll. The most memoriable cuts of fish I had that day.

A few weeks ago my son and I wanted some sushi and my husband wanted Ramen so we found this restaurant on yelp, with some great reviews, and decided to try it. When we arrived, just after they opened, we noticed that all the booths except one were already taken - so Anna, our waitress, sat us down immediately and gave us the menus to peruse. After a quick scan of the menu I got the sushi/sashimi platter for 1, my husband got the pork ramen and my son ordered some nigiri. We ordered miso soup and edamame to curve our appetite while we waited for the mains. I also ordered the tuna hand roll. Everything we ordered was super fresh, tasty and exactly what we would expect from a Japanese restaurant. Anna was super friendly, the restaurant had a great vibe and there was plenty of parking. Definitely will go back. We also ordered hot sake and a Sapporo each.

1/11/22 I went out of my way to come here for the conveyor belt. When I arrived I asked about it and was told they don't have it anymore. Although I felt deceived the staff seemed nice and I'd already driven all the way here so I stayed. I had the seaweed salad (good but small portion for the price) & Miami Heat Roll. Beautiful and delicious (and fairly priced) Overall the food and service was good but I'm disappointed that they don't have the conveyor belt any more. I'd passed lots of great sushi joints just to come to this one but now we know!

I love to visit Ushio for the lunch special. $12 for a soup or salad and a 3 roll combo can't be beat! I like Ushio because it is consistent. I know what to expect each time I visit.

The food was pretty good I had the Gyudon which was beef with onions and rice. The flavor was really good and the beef was really tender! There was a lot of rice like definitely too much for the portion of beef. The service was good however it did take a while for me to get my food while everyone else at the table had already gotten their food. The restaurant itself was really clean and nicely decorated. I'd definitely come back!

Typical sushi joint. Don't think there was anything special with the ambiance, food or service. Decent overall. You definitely won't go wrong if you're in the area and just want some Japanese food. But I just wished they would have had some wow factor to make me think of them more and crave going back. With that said, I must note that given crappy service at restaurants these days I'm sure you've all experienced and walked out with a bitter taste in your mouth still begrudgingly paying that 20% tip anyway - the staff here was pretty attentive and quick. Kudos to them for still putting that effort in to provide good customer service.

The only reason i am giving it 4 stars and not 5 because I believe I have tried better sushi in other restaurants. I come here a lot, and they do recognize the regulars. I order my favorite seafood Kimchi Ramen, and usually begin with spicy tuna roll, or a fatty tuna hand roll (which is delish!). The servers are friendly and fast. The place is quaint in the shopping plaza right across from Costco and Trader Joe's. I like that you can see the open kitchen. The quality of the menu is consistent and the service is always the same. So no surprises ever.

Food: We had the caterpillar roll, and the rock and roll roll. They were both delicious Ambience: Nice and clean. I loved the kids drawing in the front. So sweet you can tell it's a family business and I love supporting them Service: Great service. You can tell the servers work as a team. I will be back! 10/10

In over 30 years living in Florida this is my favorite sushi restaurant that I've ever been to. The quality and price were excellent and the service was excellent as well. I highly recommend this place for fresh delicious sushi.

Tried this place after finding out about it on Groupon. I actually think it's the best sushi in the area. I've tried a lot of other sushi spots and this one just consistently hits the mark on each roll. So much so that it's now our de facto sushi place in the area. Being from New York, I've had my fair share of delicious sushi. Ushio is on par with your classic nyc sushi spots. Our go to rolls are shrimp tempura roll, JB aka Philly roll, yellowtail and the sweet potato roll. Would def recommend if you're in the area.

I'm so glad I came across this gem! Sashimi was bomb, service was really lovely coming from these ladies. Food is reasonably priced too! Can't wait to come back here..

My daughter and I drove past this place on a Saturday mid afternoon and decided to give it a try. The staff was friendly and we were able to be seated immediately. The restaurant's ambiance was quiet and calm. We ordered quite a few things to try. Our favorite were the pork dumplings and the dipping sauce. This place has great food with affordable prices compared to other sushi spots. Only downside is the table/seating; the booth we were in had the actual table extremely disproportionate to the seats. The table top was very far and we had to scoot ourselves to the edge. Nothing that would prevent us from returning. Also, there's more dessert menu items here, which would be nice to have. We will be returning to try out the Lunch Menu special which is around $10.50!

My go to restaurant when I'm in the area! My favorite sushi/ramen place. They have great food and great service! They also have great prices for quality sushi. My favorite is their lunch special, you get lots of quality food for a great price! I love this place so much I rave about it to all my friends and coworkers. Just be patient with them as they are providing quality service and food!

So mediocre to be honest. The service was quick and efficient but the food was just not that good.

ushio sushi is nothing short of fantastic. the service, atmosphere, and of course the food have me keep returning and bringing more people with me. this is the only place I like going to for sushi in the area, the fish is so fresh and quality is top tier, the selection and variety of rolls on the menu has something for everyone as well. Every roll I have tried has been amazing and i have tried a lot over the years. (Spicy hamachi and wild fire are my favorite!) I will keep coming back to ushio and continue to be impressed!! A must try in the Davie area!
