"Just around the corner from Leytonstone station, Uzbegim is an easy breezy Uzbek-meets-Uyghur restaurant and your priority here should be the laghman. These hand-pulled noodles are long enough to start python paternity rumours and have the bounce of someone on their fourth espresso of the day. Thankfully, this is the kind of place where no one bats an eye at unabashed noodle slurping. It’s a homey, cocoon of a restaurant with enough lanterns to pass the department-store-lighting-display threshold and a runway counter that suits some of our favourite forms of transitory dining behaviour. First time trying central Asian food today and I’m blown away, the staff greeted us and were very polite, genuine people, treated us with a lot of respect. The interior and atmosphere was exceptional, and then the food was absolutely amazing, really succulent with a lot of flavours, different types of options. We ordered a lot of food and the staff took the order and remembered all of the dishes we requested, gave us recommendations, and the food did not take a long time! On top of all of this the price was reasonable. I would strongly recommend this place if you are looking to try central Asian cuisine.

We actually past this place almost daily as live locally but never went as had a preconception that the food would be bland. Oh how wrong we were. In one week we have been 4 times to this restaurant. Each time ordering something different and each time so surprised how good the food is. I’ve told all my friends they must go try it out as the meals are just so so delicious. Went for a breakfast and had the kunafa toast- just wow! So good!

Nice place, worth to travel. Close parking is Aldi and train station, both 2 min walk. One thing to mention is food is served in one go, some dishes will cool down before you start eating. But all food is delicious, tastes like family meal.

Amazing lunch, the fave was probably the meat with rice and the crispy aubergine salad. The salad being the highlight, wow so crispy and fresh with a delicious dressing. The flavours were so good and always wanted to try this cuisine. Definitely going to be coming back

First time in an Uzbek restaurant, surprisingly lovely flavours! The cuisine is simply delicious and full of flavour, full of colours! Highly recommend the beef stroganoff and the crispy aubergine salad. The orange juice was amazing too.

Surprisingly, the salad was actually better than what I’ve had at most Turkish spots. We got the mixed grill — yeah, it’s a bit on the pricey side at £60, but honestly, it can easily feed 3-4 people. The chicken and kebabs? Absolutely banging. The chips were kind of addictive too. The lamb and chops didn’t really pack much of a punch flavour-wise, but they were still cooked well. Tried the Uzbek pilau was really nice especially the meat on top, the portion looked small but was filling and heavy. Couldn't even finish it. The kompot (traditional Uzbek juice) was a standout super refreshing and way better than grabbing a fizzy drink. Overall, loved the atmosphere. Prices are a bit high, but if you’re in the mood for something different, it’s worth checking out.

Absolutely amazing! I'm from Spain and was visiting a friend of mine in London. I wanted to try something different and unusual to me. He was recommended to take me to this restaurant which had such good reviews. After having eaten at this restaurant there is nothing negative I can say. The food was one of the best I have ever eaten. I'm not exaggerating. The staff was so welcoming and friendly. The food came fast and hot. It was delicious. All the flavours were so well-balanced. The prices are so fair and affordable. I can definitely claim that I will go back to this restaurant next time I visit London. Thank you so much, guys, for the wonderful time I had at your place!

This was my first time trying Uzbek cuisine, and this spot was a great little find - especially before my upcoming trip through Central Asia so a great little taster of what I can expect. Decorated quite minimally, it’s not a fancy place or the best looking restaurant but you’re really only coming here for the gastronomy experience. The restaurant serves proper authentic dishes at reasonable prices, with generous portion sizes. Quite meat heavy with few vegetarian dishes but I suppose that sums up Uzbek cuisine. We ordered about four dishes to share, and while the food wasn’t entirely to my personal taste, it was definitely a worthwhile experience to try something new and traditional, saying that however, my friends loved the food here and a couple of them had been here before and wanted us to try it because they were so impressed with the food when they came. The meats were perfectly cooked, though I found it little lacking in salt and flavour - though that could just be personal preference. The Plov, a classic Uzbek dish, was rich and full of flavour - definitely the highlight and one I’d highly recommend; though I could’ve had the rice on its own without the meat, which I mostly left uneaten. The crispy aubergine salad was another standout - so unique and unlike anything I’ve had before. The service was excellent; the waiters were friendly, helpful, and made great recommendations for first-timers like us. This place deserves to be busier than it is. If you’re curious about trying authentic Uzbek cuisine, it’s well worth a visit.
