V. Crespo

"The maritime-inspired ambience here provides the backdrop for delicious traditional cuisine with a modern twist, including innovative desserts such as fried egg with white chocolate." - Michelin Inspector

Definitely one of Gijón's best restaurants! I've dined here twice in the past year and both occasions were to the same great standard. I hope to see V. Crespo back in the Michelin guide this year as they certainly deserve it, the quality of their food is on par, and indeed exceeds many currently on the guide in the region. On my initial visit I tried the croquetas which were the best I've ever had, along with the oxtail which was stunning and a delicious dessert. On my second occasion, which was recently, I tried the tasting menu, in which every dish was delicious and I couldn't find a dish I didn't enjoy. For €65, it's well worth the price. My favourite dish on the tasting menu was probably the venison, it was certainly the best venison I have ever tried. The service was also pleasant and friendly. The restaurant was completely packed, even on a Thursday evening, and so I recommend you secure a reservation in advance to avoid disappointment. I will definitely be back to V. Crespo as in terms of the price-to-quality ratio, it is perhaps the best restaurant in Gijón.

I’ve long been on a quest to discover the perfect arroz con bogavante, believing it would take the touch of a grandmother in her own kitchen to truly achieve it. While I still think the search may never truly end, the one I enjoyed here was far beyond anything I had imagined — rich in flavor, beautifully presented, and an absolute pleasure to savor. If I may offer one gentle note, the seasoning leaned slightly towards the salty side — perhaps just to my personal taste, though my two dining companions shared the same impression. Having spent 11 years working in kitchens and the hospitality industry, I understand the challenge of creating dishes that delight every palate. It’s not always possible to please everyone, yet a subtle adjustment could elevate this already exceptional dish to perfection. The service was nothing short of outstanding. The staff’s warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care for our table made the experience truly memorable. My heartfelt thanks to the chef and the entire team for their dedication to ensuring every guest leaves both satisfied and smiling.

We came in for lunch and they were fully booked but they let us sit at the bar. Everything was very tasty. One of our best experience in Spain. Sweet waitress.

Probably the best bang-for-your -buck gourmet restaurant in Gijón. It was a no-holds-barred lunch with friends (hence the bill) with delicious starters, incredible dishes of meat and fish, and fantastic desserts which blew our taste buds. Beer (Yiiihaaa, a great IPA locally produced by Tolibiers), wine (including a really good house white produced by themselves), sweet dessert wines and even some glasses of whisky. Worth every euro.

A fantastic restaurant very close to the Paseo de Begona, Michelin starred and well deserving of such. Food is impeccable along with service that is well aware of needs and wants of their guests. When I have visiting guests who are “”foodies” this is an easy selection for a great meal and service

We visited V. Crespo restaurant in June 2022 with some members of my family. It was late in the night but they received us. We ordered fish mainly (Bogavante and Lubina) and a quick entrance (Salpicón de Bogabante). Food was on point! Fresh, executed at the moment and quality was impecable! I would highly recommend this restaurant without a doubt!

Good place with unforgettable desserts (tarta de almendra caliente) the chocolate dessert was ok but not as good. Manzana con foie delicious!! Minus one star for bacalao (wasn’t that good), salad, and service (inexperienced waiter)

We visited this restaurant two times and really appreciate the experience. Excellent food and quality service. As a starter toasted bread anchovy with its special sauce, as a main dish lobster rice. Desserts were amazing. Always fresh and delicious.
