Taco Bell’s Resort in Palm Springs: Everything You Need to Know | Eater

"A moderately priced Palm Springs hotel of roughly 140 rooms that is being temporarily taken over for a four-night branded pop-up in early August. Typical rates for this time of year run about $140 for a standard king and $220 for a double queen with a pool view, which helps explain why the pop-up's $169–$299 pricing is only slightly higher; the extreme summer heat (average highs near 107°F) may also have increased room availability. Aside from the temporary themed additions, the property is described as looking like a standard mid-range hotel." - Greg Morabito

We had a great day here! We booked far in advance and got the best deal for the rooms. If we had a booked, the day of the rates were over twice as high and maybe I wouldn’t feel as positive about things. The pool area was serene, but still lively With adults only which was great. The front desk staff had no vibe, but that’s OK not necessary. The rooms are small, but the bathrooms are huge and there’s everything you need in there. The restaurant we only had toast and coffee, but the coffee was the best. The weirdest part was the drinks at the bar were not great, especially the margarita! We’re still not sure what happened there, but the bartender was very nice. It’s easy to get chairs and cabanas, but you do need to score them early in the day. You’ve gotta try Gambinos across the street!

Will absolutely stay here every time I'm in town! Staff is great, we had no problem finding our room. Room was great, only small issue was that the outlet closest to my bed was loose and my phone charger kept falling out. There are other outlets about 8" further away so if you like to charge your phone while using it be sure you have a long enough cord. Or just don't have a phone addiction like me lol. Wifi was plenty capable of streaming or running a web based CAD program if you also have a work addiction. Door code is 6 digits, my retired in-laws had no problem getting into their room, even after a few drinks. Restaurant (Gigi's) is fantastic! Staff was great the entire stay. They close at 10pm, which is when the live musical performance stopped, but were kind enough to serve me dessert after hours. Pool area is nice and clean with plenty of towels available. Swing in front of our room was a nice touch. 100% would recommend!

Google
Extremely basic, looked way better in the pictures online. I will say the bathrooms are nice but the room: painted cement, very cheap furniture, terrible beds. Our door kept not working and we had to have the front desk reset it. One other the plus, the WiFi is really good and fast. This place was definitely a sleezy motel flipped and it shows. I wondered why it was so cheap and now I know why.

They stole my money! I prepaid with them and I forgot my credit card back home even though I paid they refuse to check me in and they stole my money. They refuse to cancel my booking because they know if they cancelled I would get a refund that person at the reception was asleep and made me wait outside the reception for more than an hour and then refused to check me in.

This hotel is giving transient motel with a new paint job and a few hip accessories. The hotel layout doesn’t really make sense and when you check in, you’re not given a map or any direction. It’s not a pet friendly hotel but they did make an exception. I booked through a 3rd party site that specifically listed the hotel as pet friendly. The hotel is under new management so they’re no longer pet friendly. The restaurant is nice but very overpriced. A small piece of salmon and exactly 9 vegetables was $40. This hotel has also got a party atmosphere. The music from the restaurant can be heard throughout the hotel until at least 10pm. This place is good if our objective is to drink and be merry. I was here on business so it wasn’t the best fit for me. My room was near the highway so I just heard cars all night long. There are no keys, you’re given a code that my mom constantly forgot. The tv is controlled by Roku so unless you have a Roku password, you can only watch old outdated tv you’ve never heard of. Make sure you have your passwords for Hulu and Netflix. The room itself has very few amenities, not even a sign to ask housekeeping not to knock on your door at 8:30. All in all, it was a 2 star experience.

Loved my getaway here. Their pool closes at midnight. And they have an adult pool. Clean and comfortable.

Great hotel for a quick stay in Palm Springs. Well appointed, modern and clean rooms with a pool views available. Staff were great and really helpful with requests.

Yelp
I did a quick overnight stay here for a work trip that I was helping out at. This hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Palm Springs, walking distance to The Ace Hotel, which is a happening area for pool parties. While I didn't get a chance to enjoy their pool (or any amenities for that matter), I did enjoy the size of the room. I stayed in a two queen room, which was pretty spacious. One star for the moldy caulking surrounding the tub. I hate when I see that in a hotel shower. For the price point though, it's not a bad stay!

Yelp
as soon as i arrived to my room, i noticed it wasn't clean, there were some sticky substance on one of the night stands, dirty floors and a unbearable smell (old dirty rag, weed, cigars). the bed was so uncomfortable, and all the furniture were dirty and worn out. i will never return to this place. looks more like a cheap motel than a Hotel.

Yelp
It's like something changed here. I've stayed here 4 times in the last year and it has totally gone downhill on this stay. No more Malin + Goetz products and replaced by much cheaper toiletries. Biggest problem is they can't control the pool noise. They extended pool hours to midnight on Friday and there is a party outside that they cannot control the noise. Used to love this place but not sure if it's a different manager, but fix the above stuff. Seems simple.

Yelp
A lot of potential here! This is a motel style stay, and is quite a large property. I checked in here for a one night stay, and can't say for sure whether I'll come back or not. I was originally checked into one room, however noticed the security latch was broken off. I went back to the desk to ask for a different room, and was accommodated. Unfortunately when I went into the second room.... The security latch was also broken. Third times a charm, though! Went back to the desk again, and was finally moved to a room without a broken lock. Phew!! Unfortunately, this room had little light fixtures, and one of the two end table lamps had a bulb that was burnt out. The keypad for the door was also temperamental, and I had to keep pressing buttons over & over to get into the room. I didn't go back to the front desk about this, as I was over it at this point and just wanted to enjoy my stay. The pool chairs are a bit dirty, and could use a nice cleaning. I will say the location is good, and I did have a nice dinner at Gigi's, the on site restaurant. This place has quite a bit of potential, however they need to start paying attention to the details. So many basic things seem to go unnoticed here.

Yelp
Shockingly bad desk clerks who probably would prefer to work anywhere but here. I stayed here when they first opened and this is not the same place as before. Everything about it has gone downhill. I don't understand how this went from a festive wonderful experience to a sad sack place and I now understand why their ratings have plummeted.

Yelp
The drinks were fabulous! Hands down. Flamingo Spritz- The glass was a cute flair to a delicious cocktail. Salty Pear Martini- a sweet and sour treat- taste of perfection. I ordered the mignon surf and turf type plate. Well done. Came back bloody so uncomfortably I had to send my plate back. The second round was cooked correct but the veggies were wilted and potatoes weren't hot anymore. The menu items sounded appetizing and the prices were up there but typical Palm Springs resort prices. I stayed one night at the hotel and got the most inexpensive room available which was a queen handicapped room next to the restaurant. Not the greatest . Very lack luster compared to the rooms with a pool view and balcony with a cute swing chair to enjoy. I felt like I was in a janitorial closet to be honest. Super steep price for what the room was but I was in town during the stagecoach festival and was traveling all day so I took what I could get for the budget I had. The hotel was be cooler if they had bikes to ride around town like ACE hotel. I definitely liked the bar and restaurant vibe though and really the cocktails were where it's at. A dog friendly resort would be primo

Yelp
It is a beautiful place to stay. It is basically a very fancy motel. Prices are not crazy like a hotel would be. Very nice pool and lounging area. I didn't see the rooms, but we're told by the guests that they exceeded their expectations. I will most likely stay there at the next Tiki Caliente event. I need to get on it as it does tend to sell out. Their attached restaurant GiGis has some pretty cool original drinks and presentation.

Mikayla B.

Yelp
This place is cute and has a nice pool area. If you're out for a girls weekend maybe consider another place or bring extra lighting! The lighting is bad in the rooms, only one plugged work, and there is no where to hang your towels. This place could use a little updating.

Yelp
I have stayed here several times, this hotel is great for what it is. It is a cute, clean place to stay. There is plenty of parking, with a little restaurant located right in the front. The prices were cheaper on difference websites, we asked if they could match it but unfortunately they could not. The receptionist told us that it is better to book using a third party, the difference in price was around $50 less per night. We only stay here if we are staying for a short period of time. The rooms are clean, a bit small but perfectly fine for a short stay. The pool area is nice, with a cute bar. I always recommend coming here during off season because it is quiet and peaceful. We have no complaints. Thank you!

Yelp
Check in was an hour late, bar closed at the pool at 4:00 on a Saturday and pool is freezing cold. Not to mention the beds in the room have lumps throughout

Yelp
Found a great deal for July 4th weekend, the hottest day in PS on record. Everything was great, but there were minor things that were annoying - AC issues in particular (on a top floor room where it got super hot super fast), but don't let that stop you from renting if the price is right for you!

Yelp
Love this place! Love that there is a great restaurant (Gigis) attached to the hotel! You can literally just stay here and enjoy a few days just at the hotel! The pools great! The jacuzzis is cozy! They play music at the pool and at the restaurant, love the ambiance! We hung out outside in our little patio with some Great music! I would say this is a place to drink and be marry. There is a younger crowd here, but I came with my fiancé and my parents and we had a blast! Beautiful scenery and close to a lot of the fun downtown Palm Springs everything! Have fun and enjoy your stay!

Mya S.

Yelp
My family decided to book a room at this hotel. Everything seemed really decent, we got a room next to the pool with a patio. Our room was decent until I decided to open the closet door so w can put our belongings inside and there were 2 dead cockroaches inside the closet! I was so disappointed and disgusted and called the front desk. And all they could say was that they would inform the manager about it: I was not able to sleep well that night and left the lights on hoping no roaches would fly around while trying to sleep.

Yelp
Clean and comfortable, stylish and hip. The pool and hot tub are the best ! The staff was super friendly and helpful with any special requests

Yelp
We were going to a comedy show over at the casino, not knowing that this was the same weekend as Coachella. We were relieved when they have availability. They charge for early check in, so we arrived right on time, and the wait was quite long since at the time there was only one person at the desk. The lobby - while chic - was quite warm and stuffy. Our room code wouldn't work when we got there, and I had to return to have it reset. This hotel was clearly recently revamped, but there's a still bit of work to be done. Our bathroom door was not properly fitted - it wouldn't open or close all the way, and would get stuck or scrap across the floor. The mini fridge did not work at all, which I'd say is a must for the desert! The in-room coffee machine was awful - came with no instructions, and was honestly very challenging to use. The balcony only had one chair, which I do think is a little weird for a room with a double bed. Just seems like if there is more than one person staying there, maybe you'd need at least two chairs if you both wanted to hang around outside. We didn't use the pool, but it looked cute and had we stayed longer, I would have definitely popped by. Overall, the room was clean, beds were comfortable, and there were ample towels for us.
google avatar

Sarah U.

Yelp
The room was nice enough, nothing special. Came over Memorial weekend, no kids allowed at pool due to parties (something to think about if you're planning a family vacay over a holiday weekend). We didn't have kids so we were fine with it. Crazy pool parties filled with broken glass, puke, the usual. The lady at the front desk that checked us in stated the rooms were recently remodeled and no longer had bathtubs which turned out to be a lie, our room didn't have a bathtub, but people at the pool said their room did. I didn't appreciate being lied to. Also for our friends, the big pool was all men and the smaller pool was all women. I wouldn't stay here ever again, but it was nice enough. The pool lounge chair cushions def need to be replaced, same black and white stripes from two years ago that are severely sun faded.
google avatar

Fima G.

Yelp
Stop lying to your clients! When you tell them one price and then charge a lot more for the room! And on top of that, you blame new receptionist for not telling me the proper cost of the room!

Jessica M.

Yelp
This is the second time I stay at the V Palm Springs and it never disappoints. If you're ever visiting Palm Springs I definitely recommend staying at this hotel. It's a very nice and affordable hotel. The beds are very comfortable and they give you all the amenities needed. The pool and jacuzzi are a 10/10 and they provide you with pool towels as well.

Yelp
Karla at the front desk is absolutely amazing she had great customer service, very informative and just all around gave me a great experience here!

Yelp
This a standard motel turned into boutique hotel in Palm Springs. The good, the bad, and the ugly are as follows. The good - 1. Location: located in downtown Palm Springs, The V hotel is a five minute Uber ride from the bars, the restaurants, and casino that Palm Springs has to offer. 2. Pool service: service at the pool bar (the only restaurant the hotel has to offer) was phenomenal - from the waiters, bartenders, to the food & drinks. 3. Weekend DJ: there is a weekend DJ who provides the hits and a fun atmosphere by the pool to make it a day beach club(ish) scene. The bad - 1. No elevators: Personally I've never been to a hotel without elevators. Found that odd and not accommodating for those with disabilities as well as those hauling luggages. 2. The size of the rooms: the rooms were very small, the AC was very old, and irons were only provided per request. This hotel needs major renovations. I was appalled when I found out that the hotel hosted the Taco Bell pop up stay as well as the Revolve hotel for Coachella . . . in the condition that it is. 3. Amenities: NO RESTAURANT. Looks are fully and completely deceiving. This hotel has no restaurant, just a pool bar. There's no proper lobby either. A small building with a front desk and few couches are provided. The ugly- 1. Bugs: I get it. Bugs are seasonal and some come and go because of the heat. However, there was no warning provided by staff and no measures taken to monitor these small creatures in a hotel that has rooms fully outdoors. On one night we had up to 35 bugs in our room. 35. That is disgusting and not okay to find bugs in your bed, shower, etc. When I called just for a courtesy deep cleaning, the response was oh they're seasonally. A, sorry for the inconvenience goes a long way. 2. The hidden fees. I bought a deal on group on which included resort fees, yet still got charged for them and my card on file which was on hold . . . yeah it's been a week . . . The hold is still there. I'm not sure what kind of an operation is being run here, but there needs to be a major revamp in management and the rooms. It's a shame the location is ideal.

Yelp
There's no getting around the fact that it FELT like an old motel, renovated with the same bones as a Motel 6 or Travelodge. Imagine your friend picking you up in a fifteen year old Hyundai Accent that inexplicably had Corinthian leather with heated and air conditioned seats, a built-in espresso machine, and Tesla's on-screen computer systems. It's almost disorienting. Also, to other reviewer's points, they tried to hit me up with a "resort fee" that was most definitely not mentioned in the Hotel Tonight booking, and would have added like 40% to what I was paying. Yet the second I questioned it, they dropped it FAST. Which felt a little... I don't know... slippery. I'd likely stay somewhere else the next time I go to Palm Springs.
google avatar

david h.

Yelp
Positives: pool area is large and has good sun exposure. Lupe at the front desk was very accommodating. She rightfully addressed my concerns by removing the stupid resort fee and allowing me late checkout. Room had small mini fridge. Make sure it is closed as it will easily come open. Negatives: room smelled, room had weird stains on floor, as well as blood stains on pillow case. Stains on floor could be candle wax....but I'm sorry they look like semen. Nasty. So with all this in mind, resort fees are garbage. That being said, if I see these kinds of stains and show you pictures you better kiss my ass. This place is trash.

Yelp
The rooms were bohemian cute, love the touch of a chair swing on the patio. They had a very nice pool with the funny floaties to use like a pineapple or watermelon. I also enjoyed their nice array of drinks, but the food was just average. Also our check in went smoothly but the next morning we went to the front to ask for a late check out of 30 mins and the ladies looked us up and down like we were crazy saying they had tons of arrivals, but our area seemed empty. The customer service could of been a little better on that end. All in all we had fun!!
google avatar

Marley B.

Yelp
This is a nice, modern hotel. The lobby is very nice and spacious and the rooms has a view of the pool depending where you are at. It seems like they have two different pools- one with a DJ and one that is kid friendly. The pool is very nice and it has a bar. I loved that they have a bottle opener ready for you. The middle light is operated by a switch near the door. We would stay here again!
google avatar

Raychel R.

Yelp
Not too shabby. I didn't have high hopes for this place when reading the reviews, but our stay was very pleasant. We grabbed an amazing deal off HotelTonight, which helped with the 4 stars. I think if we paid more than we did, I would have had to bring this to 3 stars. Pros- Lobby: Clean. And the check-in/check-out experience was swift and informative of everything you are signing. Pool: Great pool and music playing all day. They provided pool towels and floaties to play in. Also, because it was the weekend, they had a DJ come and spin some jams. Mostly pop/r&b/rap. Bar: The pool area has the Elixir Bar. Kind of pricey, but the drinks were pretty strong. Room: Make sure to request one away from the pool area if you like peace and quiet. Our room (#123) was great. Clean sheets, comfortable pillows and mattress, AC was working good, and there was a cute swing chair on our patio. The bathroom toiletries were great too. I think ours were grapefruit scented. WIFI: FREE Cons- Parking: Can be tough to park by your room if you come late at night. Also, if the pool is open to non-guests for a party/event, your basically sol, because they will take up all the parking from you. Resort Fees: First of all...this is NOT a resort. No spa or restaurant on site, so I was a bit crabby to have to pay for this fee each night we stayed. It's a renovated motel NOT a resort. Microwave: Non-existent. Why even provide a mini fridge, if you can't even heat up your leftovers. Ugh. Overall, we had a pretty decent stay for the 2 nights we were there. I probably won't stay here again, unless I find another discount on HotelTonight. There's so many other hotels with better amenities in the same price range.

Yelp
"Everybody is special. Everybody. Everybody is a hero, a lover, a fool, a villain. Everybody. Everybody has their story to tell." Alan Moore - V for Vendetta It was the late 1980's when I was working at Comic's ETC. I was able to read anything I wanted so I could knowledgeably answer any customer questions about the books. What I couldn't wait to read every month was V for Vendetta. Words coalesced into ideas profound yet relatable in my own experience. I learned quite a bit of English history. I had not read anything this good since Tolkien or Frank Herbert. Now decades later I still look back on that period with fondness as most of my fav comic books were written that decade. When I was looking for a place to stay and I noticed V Palm Springs had a Groupon deal I knew that was the place for me. Turned out they were offering deals as the hotel was still undergoing renovations. Place is so new and fancy. It's also hard to find as there wasn't any signs. Scent of fresh paint and new everything is in the air. Huge HDTV bigger than the one I have at home. Bummer it doesn't have ports on the side I could plug my laptop into. There is a patio with hammock to sit and watch the sunrise or the pool. Free Buzz trolley stops on the corner to take you to downtown. Free wifi works well. Double paned window with low-E glass keeps the room pretty quiet and minimizes the heat. I got a room with a door facing the San Jacinto Mountains. Mountains are lovely in the morning as the sun slowly lights them up. Sadly I checked in after sunset so I didn't get to see the sun disappearing over the mountains. Also I was bummed I didn't have time to try out the fancy new loaner bikes. I really enjoyed my stay here though the $30/night resort fee burned a little hole in my wallet. Thus my story ends. Perhaps tomorrow a new one begins...
google avatar

Mark O.

Yelp
If you want of view of the mountains and you do, rooms on the east side, 2nd floor offer the best vista. (Room 222, 224) Food at the pool bar uses creative combinations like guacamole served with baked crispy plantains. Delicious. It would be helpful for the restaurant to have more tables in the bar area for dining. The bathroom is our room was cramped, but the shower was bright and modern. Staff if friendlier than most places. I think you will enjoy a stay at the V.
google avatar

Gen J.

Yelp
We booked a last minute stay at the V for a quick mid week getaway. I was hesitant because of some recent bad reviews I read on Travelocity, but we decided to roll the dice! It is a revamped version of an old school motel like many small hotels in the area. The room we stayed in was fully remodeled, not sure if all the rooms have been completely renovated yet. The lobby, pool areas, and outdoor bar and restaurant were all very nice and trendy looking. They do play music outside around the pool til around 10pm. Our room was right above the pool and it wasn't too loud for us. This hotel definitely attracts a younger crowd. The room has a minimalist design but well thought out colors and decor. A reviewer said the bathroom was small and the shower was odd. I thought the bathroom was big enough for two people to get ready at the same time. They provided clean comfy robes. The only thing I wasn't crazy about the was vinyl flooring it felt sticky when you walked in it barefoot. But for the price we were very happy we would stay again.
google avatar

Stephanie V.

Yelp
The V Palm Spring is basically a renovated old motel, meaning some aspects of the hotel are beautiful and others still appear to have that old motel feel. I was here for a wedding. Upon my arrival, I wasn't given a map, but was walked outside of check-in to point at things to show me approximately where my room was and where to park. Neither of which was helpful. When I asked for a map I was told there wasn't one. So, I wandered around in the direction pointed and came across a "security guard." I asked her if she knew where my room was and she told me she didn't work for the hotel, but rather the property and since she had just started a couple of days ago, she didn't really know anything. Once I located my room right across from one of the pools, I also found some parking nearby, went back to the front retrieved my car and proceeded to drive all the way around the hotel to get the spot nearest my room. The room itself was nice. A bit dark, but there is a dresser with two robes, a desk, a fairly comfortable bed and a large bathroom. There were however a handful of issues. At some point there must have been a power outage and the clock in my room was not reset before my visit. I attempted to reset it. I now understand why it wasn't reset. It was oddly difficult, and I ended up giving up and asking housekeeping to do it. (Which by the way never happened.) The shower wasn't draining and I showered with water up to my ankles. The power in the bathroom wouldn't work and since all the mirrors were in the bathroom it made it particularly difficult to get ready and blow dry my hair. I did report all the issues to the hotel, and the drain and the power were fixed by the second day. My room was comped for the first night, so while both were a huge inconvenience, I'm at least glad I didn't pay for it. If you're here for the pool, you'll enjoy a room right next to it. Because you'll hear everything happening in the pool area. But if you're not, say you're stay in Palm Springs has a different purpose than lounging at the pool all day, you will find the noise annoying. However, the air conditioning unit is very loud so you might be able to drown out the noise of the pool with the noise of the air conditioning.

Yelp
Comfortable, welcoming accommodations, clean and simply appointed rooms with delicious food for breakfast and lunch/brunch at the poolside bar. Came for Cinema Diverse, LGBTQ film festival at the Palm Springs Cultural Center and the opening night after party was also hosted here. We felt welcomed and everyone was so nice. I'm St8 and came to support my LGBTQ friends and all felt welcomed here. Bartender (Saul) and Chef (Carlos) were fantastic. Love the sprayers thar mist cool water to keep you cool under hot Palm Springs sunshine. A place not to be missed.

Yelp
I'm going to start with one negative....the pool chairs are a bit dirty. Besides that it was a wonderful experience. The hotel is close to everything but just far enough away from everything, if that makes sense. The staff was very friendly and inviting. The rooms are very clean, on the smaller side but not bad at all. Jesus was one of my favorites. He was just collecting towels at the end of the night and made us feel like family! Roderick (I believe that's his name) checked us in and made sure we had a great room, we appreciate that! Can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Yelp
Loved this spot. From check in (seamless) to check out I really tried to find a flaw at the price point I paid, but I really couldn't. Here are the highlights. Start with the pool and bar/restaurant. Great seating and a bunch of it. Good music mix, great bar with inventive food that looked fabulous. Nice drink and wine list. Great staff. Rooms were everything you want for a PS fling. But most of all clean and perfectly thought out. Great products. Better sheets. And they all face the pool area. Very nice. I really don't like the new "resort fee" but this is only $29...I'll give it here. And I'll be back. It's a gem!

Review is for the pool and pool bar only - I visited friends staying here and made use of the outdoor facilities. If you're gonna lounge around in Palm Springs, the V is a prime party place. It feels a bit younger than a lot of the other spots around town but not so much that you feel like an old creeper if you're over the age of 30. Tiki drinks abound. Expensive but plentiful. A round plus tip will set you back $75-$80 but it's vacation money... which feels like Monopoly paper cash until you get home and check your bank statement. Outdoor bathrooms are clean and unisex. I was there early(ish) in the day, before the DJ was cranking tunes. I could imagine there being a line for the toilet like you find at the club, but can't comment on that directly. Overall a clean, hip hangout for some middle aged straight friends who wanted one more day of sunshine and drinks.

Yelp
I've stayed here twice. Once last year in October for one night and this year around the same time in October for 3 nights and 4 days. Both times I stayed for work. I don't know the history but something about this place is very obviously motel turned chic but accommodating family friendly stay. The hotel brand and styling of the lobby and rooms is very modern and hip. Every room has a hanging wicker swing chair and some rooms even have private patios. Even if you don't have a private patio, if you have a poolside room it's nice to just sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. I like the fact that there are two pools on site. The small one is great especially when families, music, and kids take over the larger one. The larger one, deemed 'the party pool' has a DJ that comes in on the weekend and has a full service food and beverage bar in the middle. This year I was able to grab both breakfast and lunch while working poolside. I highly recommend the cornmeal pancakes - they're light and come with fresh fruit and freshly whipped vanilla creme, or the avocado toast - three slices of toast cut in perfect circles with avo spread and savory toppings. If you get tea, they also bring you a pot so that you can refill your own cup. The only thing I can complain about is the sexy shower situation. It's an odd set up with the glass wall and large opening. If you're in the shower long enough the area outside of it gets wet and the mat provided for when you step out gets soaked so could be a little bit of a hazard while getting out. Overall, very friendly staff, great rooms, great location (close enough to the main strip but far enough that it feels like a getaway), and a pleasant stay. Whenever I'm able to go to Palm Springs for a personal stay, I'm going to be looking to stay here.

Yelp
In my mind V stands for two things: Velyn and very, very good. I'm fresh off a stay at the V Palm Springs and it was lovely. From the staff, to the pools, to the adorable swing on my balcony, I was a big fan. It's a huge revamped motel, so it's very boutique-y. Don't expect all the goodies of a full-on resort, but enjoy all of the weird and wonderful touches. The price of this hotel varies extremely, but it's often on Hotel Tonight. If you don't already use that app. Get it now, you will worship it and it's incredible deals for genuine gems, like the V.

Yelp
Cockroaches and bad service. 50percent tax???? Checked in on this Friday night and they only had one person at reception so it took a while to check in. We fought Friday traffic for 2.5 hours so we just wanted to get to our room. We get in the room and its an Oven. 8pm friday night and its at least 100 plus degrees because its 85 outside and it was at least 20 degrees hotter in the room. Our welcome water was got and the frige didnt work. Went to the bar and there was one bartender for a packed bar. Took way to long for service. I was in the middle of ordering and he would walk away. Ask me again and the walked away and repeat. I asked him if he could make a Kamakazi. The dude snapped that hes been a bartender for 9 years and then proceeded to mess up three kamakazis that my wife and her friend chucked because it was not drinkable. The following day we went to the pool. There are nice areas to sit but they try to charge 300-500 for the shady Cabanas so one of ten cabanas were occupied and it was HOT! Then the server has the audacity to say my friend disnt pay for 1 drink when we all saw her do it. They argued with her of $14.00 when we were there with four couples who each spent over 300 on their bar-tab a piece. We arent paying extra for a drink we didnt get. And then... there are roaches in the room see the picture

Yelp
The looks and vibe of the hotel is 4 star however that's about it. The rooms look nice but the bed is horrible to sleep on. Also People are right about the ac being loud. I had the worst two nights of sleep. I almost went home after the first night because I couldn't sleep. One of the lamps in the room didn't work which isn't a huge deal. The bathroom is spacious but it was a little dirty. You can tell they didn't clean the countertop in there. My friend who stayed in one of the other rooms had to have someone come change the sheets cause they found that the bedding was dirty from whoever was in there before. The pool area is semi nice. Personal I enjoyed the non main pool. It was cleaner and quieter. The main pool is crowded. One downfall was that dirty towels and dishes were not collected right away . Also people like to put their items on the lounge chair and beds to reserve their spot even tho they won't be at the pool area for hours. I'm sure the v is one of the nicer motels but it's lost it's touch. We came out 2-3 years ago and it was amazing. I was so excited to come back but now I probably won't return. If you want comfort this is not the place anymore. The front desk staff is ok. I had requested lower level cause i stairs are hard on my knee, but I was told everything was booked. When my friend checked in not too long after me she made the same request and they gave it to her. What gives? Some of the other staff was ok. Not the best customer service but not the worst. Overall this place has lost its touch but still better than some of the other options. If they can put better beds and quieter ac units then I would come back.

Yelp
By far one of the worst hotels I've stayed at. I travel alot in California... Palm Springs, San Francisco, San Diego, and even to Las Vegas. And I have to say this lives up to Motel level. If this was called V Palm Springs MOTEL i wouldnt be as upset with the following issues only because i know what i am getting myself into. But they claim to be 4 stars... Keep in mind i booked this 3 months ahead and was super excited to spend my Memorial Day weekend here. - Checked in on Sunday Memorial Day Weekend 5/26/2019 (4:30pm) and got to the pool at 4:45pm. No beach towels and left over drinks spilled all over the chairs we were sitting at. Requested for them to clean up our area and some towels. Nothing happened for 30 mins. Went and ask the waiter for a wet cloth so i can clean it myself... and surprisingly he gave it to me ASAP. - Came back next day 5/27/2019 (10:30am) to lay out because i didnt really get a chance to the day before. GUESS WHAT? NO BEACH TOWELS AGAIN! WOW. Told the waitress to request for some... 30 mins later nothing again. The employees at V Palm Springs are not problem solvers. All they told me was "sorry its still in the washer". How do you except people to lay out face down in your dirty nasty beach chairs without a towel? I was so disappointed because i was only staying here for 1 day and i never got to enjoyed the pool because of this. - When checking out i requested for a folio to me emailed to me... 24 hours still nothing. - Shower in the bathroom has no doors and water splashes everywhere. - AC Unit is loud and it blows right in your face when sleeping. PRO: Mini Fridge to keep our waters cold (1 star). V PALM SPRINGS... please stop telling everyone your MOTEL is 4 stars.

Yelp
NOT A 4 STAR HOTEL AT ALL (read entire post especially the last paragraph...). With plenty of places to stay in Palm Springs, this hotel has made the AVOID AT ALL COST list. We arrived at check in at 8:30PM after a 2.5hr drive from OC (yes there was traffic), when we asked for a luggage rack to bring our bags from the car to the room we were pointed in the direction of our room (no map was given) and showed a luggage rack to place our luggage on, then asked to bring it back after we had finished using it, not really what you'd expect from "4 star" hotel. ROOM: Once we walked into the room we quickly noticed an object on the wall, that was a flying COCKROACH (keep reading it gets better)! Immediately we went to the front desk and was "greeted" with a response of "what do you expect me to do". After our talk with the front desk clerk he gave us an upgraded room and wiped the resort fee (saving us a whole $60) then said "that should be good enough for you". We then asked to speak to the general manager to share our disappointment and he assured us we would hear something tomorrow, which never happened and still hasn't... If I didn't purchase the room through a 3rd party app I would have cancelled my reservation and gone somewhere else immediately (we did contact the app and they actually gave us better treatment and understood how terrible our experience was than the hotel staff did). RESORT: Really the only place that appears as a "4 star" is the front lobby. The rest of the hotel looks like it was a run-down motel that got a quick, and cheap upgrade. Paint is peeling off the stairs and doors revealing whatever building it was before it. There are no elevators so be prepared to carry your own bags upstairs to your room since there is no bellhop. When it comes to parking people were parking on the side of walls, red painted curbs, and the street across from it. Maybe they should look into charging for parking or actually keeping tabs on the vehicles parked there (we saw multiple cars without a parking permit that sat from Friday-Sunday without moving). I can't speak personally about the food there but the couple next to us at the pool showed me a picture of the chicken fingers he was served, and ate partially, that were RAW and only fried on the outside (he thought he was getting fish on accident at first). Between raw chicken and the cockroach eating there did not seem too appealing. POOL: The main pool was decent but smaller than pictures appeared. There is a bar located there but don't expect quick service, on a Saturday there was only one bartender to try and take care of all the request from a booked hotel. On top of that they needed to be reminded to fill guest water, which shouldn't be the case when it's 90 outside (I even had to fill it myself multiple times since the bartender was too busy without any help). Again, this should not be the case at all for a "4 star hotel". On top of that at 9AM they apparently ran out of towels for the guest... And when I asked one of the workers walking the grounds with a stack of towels for one he angrily replied, "I have somewhere to take these". The second pool is completely run down with stains all over the chair covers and looks terribly depressing from the naked eye. After further looking into this hotel we found out it was in the news because of a death from carbon monoxide poisoning, they simply rebranded the name and did small upgrades (just research the address). This place clearly needs a lot of work and shouldn't list itself as anything close to 4 stars. You would honestly get better service from motels in the area. Until they take time to train their staff on what guests should expect from a 4-Star resort, and upgrade their facilities accordingly, I would look into other places to stay. A few I would recommend and have personally stayed at are Sands and Avalon. Both are a true 4-Star and give you that experience from check in to check out.

Yelp
Booked room last minute through Hotel Tonight (looooooooovvveee this APP!!!). For the price of the room we loved it. Check-In was awesome. The room was nice. I have to mention the Flooring in room was weird AF. It carried an odor of the cleaning products used in the room. Bathroom from afar was nice! The tile added a Wow statement. Now, like I said for the price of the room, it was a great deal. However, their three star hotel needed better housekeeping. I am a clean freak. When it comes to bathrooms in hotels cleanliness is a number one priority. This bathroom --- floor was filthy and the shower glass partition was not long enough and soaked the floor with water during my shower. Rookie Mistake!! Make sure you bring sandals to wear in room at all times. Overall, it was nice and if we get a good deal on Hotel Tonight we may stay there. P.S. DON'T SPEND OVER $300 HERE AT THIS HOTEL. UNLESS THEY HAVE A NEW HOUSEKEEPING TEAM!

Yelp
I booked this hotel last minute for 4th of July and booked the 2 queen room with the pool view. The room and lobby are beautifully decorated, especially the bathroom, I loved the tiles! Customer service was amazing, everyone at the front desk were very friendly and accommodating. I only got the name of one person, Brenda and she was very helpful and remembered me by my name. I asked to be placed with in a room by the main pool and luckily she was able to accommodate it! I loved the swing on the balcony which is giving me an inspiration to add to my new place. There were a few glitches though. Initially, my keys didn't work for the room so I had to walk back down the stairs with my things to get it fixed. Brenda fixed it and walked me to my room to make sure that it works. Another minor complaint I had were the drinks at Elixir. I was really looking forward to enjoying some delicious refreshing (and grammable lol) cocktails by the pool but surprisingly it didn't meet my expectations. I forgot the names but I ordered the vodka based watermelon drink and my friend had the green cucumber one. My drink didn't really taste like watermelon but a watered down unsweetened lemonade instead. I tasted my friend's drink and I enjoyed it much better. I must've made a face when I tasted my drink and the bartender was kind enough to notice and offered to make it better, so i asked for it to be a bit sweeter. He added something but unfortunately, it didn't really do much to the drink. But I'm not one to make a big deal out of it, so I told him it was fine and proceeded to drink it anyways. But I also realized that our drinks didn't come with salted rim and/or a flower like the other ones do. Another few things is that one of my room card didn't work for the pool gate, the fridge didn't seem to be working (I didn't call about it because I had a cooler anyways), it didn't have any Bluetooth speaker like it said it did, and the AC was tad loud. It woke me up each time it started blasting the cool air. Other than that, the beds were sooo comfortable, I had a hard time getting up to leave. I loved the vibes and the service. Check out was a breeze, Brenda remembered me by my name so that was nice of her. I definitely will think of this hotel the next time I'm in need of another staycation!

Yelp
Loved it here! I like to stay at different hotels every time I'm in town, and I got to say this was good. Very quiet the staff was very friendly you are close to several bars and restaurants. The vibe was great. My only complaint the chairs on the main pool side were extremely dirty. But I get it maybe it's after a holiday? But the other side where the second pool was located was beautiful clean and quiet. The drinks were very expensive at the bar so maybe save some money and bring your own. Also the shower door was missing? Not sure if it's suppose to be part of the aesthetic. If that's the case give people More towels because that Makes a huge mess, also the AC unit is very loud other then that I'd definitely come back here.

Yelp
V Palm Springs such an amazing place for either a quick weekend getaway or just somewhere to relax for a few days. Me and my husband got the chance to stay for 3 nights and let me tell you the staff, bartenders, rooms, bed, pool area was so comforting. The drinks at the bar were so good. All bartenders defenitly know how to make some good drinks. Food at the bar is also very good. Such great vibes and great hospitality at the V Palm Springs. I totally recommend it and can't wait to visit again.

Yelp
This past weekend was my first trip to Palm Springs this year. I've heard a lot of good things about the new V Hotel and decided to check it out. My friend and I arrived a bit before check in and were met by friendly staff who accommodated the early check-in request. I immediately fell in love with the decor. A today version of the traditional Palm Springs Mid-Century Modern. Beautiful dark wood mixed with black, white, and gold accents. So here are some of the cool things about this hotel in a bullet point format for your reading pleasure: *Free parking and wifi *Pool view rooms have great patios with swings - I need one for my house! *DJ spins by the pool on Saturdays from 12-4 *Beds are super comfortable. The kind of bed that keeps you from going to the bathroom even though you really have to go *The pool furniture, beds and lounge chairs were super comfortable *Joey our attendant by the pool was awesome. *The cocktails were refreshing and were perfect for a hot day *My friend and I ordered the Market salad, burger, fries, and guacamole with plantain chips-it was all fabulous. *Pool is not overly crowded With all said, I will definitely be back. Hopefully the restaurant, as well as buildings A and B will be opened by then.

Yelp
This is a nice, reasonably priced hotel in a central Palm Springs location. The rooms are clean and fresh with good beauty products, nice thick towels, a fridge, safe and very comfortable beds. Reception was very accommodating with an early check in and late check out and they even rent little portable speakers out for free. Nice touch. PLUS they will price match if you find a better deal somewhere else [like Hotel Tonight or Kayak], so you really can't go wrong here! But... be aware that on the weekends they have DJs and very loud music that sounds like the speakers are going to explode [plus... they played HORRIBLE music all weekend long. I mean, the kind that gets under your skin]. However, there is a second pool on the other side of the compound that doesn't have the bad DJ music and is more family oriented and quiet. THIS we loved. It was peaceful and relaxing. It would be great if they played some kind of non-club music here [like the ACE does]. It would give it more of a vibe. They serve food and drinks poolside but the menu needs a bit of work. Not a SINGLE vegetarian option except a $15 guacamole that they serve with a tiny handful of chips. The waiter thought I was crazy when I asked for a few more chips but the portion was small and cheap. The drinks were good and the service, fair. My only complaint about the pool is they need a better cleaning staff. Lots of straws, old lime wedges and empty cups were left around the pool and under the chaises.

Yelp
Hotel accommodations are a 5-Star for the price (so cheap in summer because it's so hot), and I know some reviewers mention that the rooms have a motel dressed up in hotel's clothing vibe, but I didn't get motel at all with our accommodations. The hammock swing on the balcony/patio is a cute touch and the bathroom had a lot of counter space and above average products. The pool DJs on Sat were great, as was most of the late afternoon/early evening bar staff. The two big problems were... -the earlier afternoon staff at the bar: they gifted themselves with the change from any bill - the extra $5 on a $15 bill for a $20, for instance - we'd stand up there for an inordinate amount of time with no one else bombarding the bar and eventually have to ask for the change -the pool, while cleaner than many I've encountered in PS, was luke warm! When it's 115 outside, you want to be able to escape that by taking a refreshing dip in a cold, crisp piscine. I went to another hotel pool that was disgusting but cool, so I guess in PS, it's one or the other! Not sure if it's feasible, but just dump a heap load of ice in that bad boy every hour to keep your hotel guests at your pool and buying your $20 drinks (you know, with obligatory tip!).

Yelp
Enjoyed my stay here. Such an elegant hotel with swings on the room balcony that overlooked the pool. My room was cozy and the colors were so soothing to the eye. My room was clean and loved that they don't have carpet floors! They staff was friendly and they offer room service or you could order at the pool. They also have self serve parking, which I loved because I was able to park right in front of my room.
