V Zátiši

"This modern city centre restaurant is a popular spot. Its name means ‘timeless’ and with its clever blend of modern Czech and international dishes, it looks set to stand up to its name. In the kitchen, local products are used that are bought daily at the farmers' market." - Michelin Inspector

Phenomenal meal. We had the Czech tasting menu and the Zatisi tasting menu, both with wine pairing. Every dish was delicious. Stands outs are the lamb tar-tar and the veal wellington. Great service as well. Definitely recommend and would go again.

We had an excellent dining experience at V Zátiší. The food and service were both outstanding — truly 5-star. The foie gras was sublime, one of the highlights of the evening. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and warm throughout. The only slight downside was the atmosphere, which felt a bit formal and lacked the charm or energy we expected — hence a 3-star rating for ambiance. Still, the quality of the cuisine more than made up for it. Would definitely recommend for a refined culinary experience in Prague.

Google
Amazing food served in this stylish and classy city centre restaurant. We had the two set menus with paired wines, with each course across both menus being excellent. Staff were friendly, professional and attentative. Only thing that was a let down was the lack of customer dress code. Shorts and caps are not for a place like this, keep that for McDonald's.

Excellent tasting menu with wine pairing! My friend is vegetarian and despite telling them a couple of days before they were well informed when we arrived and provided her with an amazing menu. We thought we would have to remind them but this wasn't the case. Service was excellent and we left feeling pleasantly full. Our waiter, who's name I don't know, was well informed of the wines and provided us with information for each dish and wine and was extremely polite. 10/10 would visit again.

Had lunch on a Saturday afternoon, for my husband's birthday. Had the BEST time! The cuisine is just delicious, every detail and combination of tastes is thoroughly thought of. Extremely good and pleasant service, the staff were really lovely. Good wine selection and great atmosphere! Very recommended!!

Absolutely blown away by our visit to V Zatisi. Firstly, we were greeted and coats taken and hung with welcoming staff. Once seated, we were introduced to our host for the night and the notes I had left when making the reservation regarding allergies were acknowledged. Our host suggested to us to have the tasting menu which we ended up selecting with a bottle of wine. There were 2 different tasting menus and we ordered both, swapping plates between me and my partner. Each menu item was handled with the highest quality food and rich in flavour that our host talked us through per item. My personal favourite was the veal wellington. As it was a birthday celebration for my partner, they went the extra mile and provided a free desert for my partner with "happy birthday" written out in chocolate. Lots of photos are being attached. Amazing experience and if I'm ever in Prague again, I will definitely seek to return. Thank you to all the staff throughout the experience!

Google
Incredible food, really really delicious! Every single dish on the zatisi tasting menu was fantastic, can really tell you have some very skilled and passionate chefs. Size and timing with the wine pairing and delivery was the only small thing, as we would nearly have finished it before the dish would arrive, we did however ask for a little extra of a couple of them and were kindly given some more. We would definitely come here again if I had the opportunity to. We are grateful to the wonderful staff who looked after us. Thank you!

Google
My partner and I had a wonderful evening sharing the two different tasting menus available - everything was delicious, the wine pairings were perfect, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. The atmosphere was great too, despite the restaurant being full when we arrived it didn't feel overly loud, and we admired the design of the room. Would visit again!

Yelp
Wow. There are two restaurants I enjoyed most in Prague and this is one of them. The service is excellent, I had to leave to make a train and they were able to accommodate all my courses in an hour to get me out on time. The pear old fashioned (and I'm not a big drinker) was smooth (yum!) and the best I've had. The tartare with truffle slices was top notch, hamachi crudo very thoughtful and of course beautifully presented. The fois gras both seared and in pate form was off the charts delicious. The duck, the beef cheek raviolo, the beet soup.. there was nothing I didn't like. Everything was wow. Highly recommend, visited multiple times and really enjoyed it each time.

Yelp
Holy Czech-mate, this place is amazing. I've got nothing but good things to say about V Zatisi. We came with a large group, were given a private room, and opted for the "degustation menu with wine pairing." The variety, the quality, and the service were all outstanding. Salmon appetizer: wow! You think "how different can salmon be?" and this one knocks your socks off. The balance of the apple sweetness, the avocado creaminess, and the sauerkraut (!!) sauce tartness. More please Four gras: smallish portion that packs a ton of flavor. The plum gives is a surprising sweet edge. The Chateau Belingard Monbazillac was a great pairing -- a touch of sweetness without being over the top. Stone Bass: not as flavorful as sea bass but the brown butter and shallots give it a pleasant taste. It has nice white muscle flakes. Served on bed of corn. Veal fillet Wellington: a nice alternative to traditional beef Wellington. The purple potatoes and mushrooms rounded out the dish nicely. At this point. I didn't think I was hungry but ate every bit of it. Vanilla creme brûlée: oh my brûlée! Not too cloyingly sweet, especially paired with a touch of ginger. The servers were attentive without being intrusive. Lots of explanations about our dishes and the paired wine. A local said they have a Michelin Star - if true, they deserve it.

Yelp
Surprisingly good and cheap food! This place is on the Michelin bib gourmand and in a super quiet area of Prague. We ordered off the a la carte menu for lunch. I got the duck confit and it was cooked perfectly. Flavors were excellent as well. The wait staff were really attentive and it made for a great meal.

Yelp
Delicious food! Lovely ambiance and the service was particularly good! Particularly good prices for its caliber and would definitely recommend their creme brulee and beef tartare!

Yelp
If you're seeking a memorable fine dining experience in Prague, then V Zátiší is worth a reservation. Their menu includes creative modern European and new Indian takes on traditional dishes. We were pleasantly greeted to their chic seating area, despite not having dressed up for this occasion. Upscale yet courteous! From their tasting menus we selected the Seasonal Degustation and the Indian Degustation, these did not disappoint. After starting with a neat foie gras amuse bouche, course plates soon followed with presentations that spoke for themselves. The venison soup contained a confit egg that demonstrated the chef's techniques. Lamp chops were perfectly tender, well-prepared to remove its gamey taste. Most of the Indian dishes were also elevated. Tandoori tiger prawns & tandoori pineapples (similar to Brazilian BBQ) came before & after standard tandoori chicken with curry. The sea bass fillet blended well with the accompanying tapioca-coconut sauce. All delicious, with many interesting and refreshing flavours. V Zátiší is now on the Michelin Guide. We felt it really lived up to the positive reviews of its top-notch food, attentive service and cool ambience. Much welcomed after our not-so-great meals at overrated places or trying restaurants too packed to offer seating. Definitely worth dining here for a refined meal.

Yelp
The food, ambiance, and service were exceptional! Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Prague. I started with the Prague Ham as an appetizer and had duck as the entree. All were very delicious, and if I ever come back to Prague, I will be eating here again.

Yelp
After our play at the theatre, we decided to have dinner here. The place is very nice, minimalist decoration with modern touches. We had the aged beef tartar and the glazed fillet of pikeperch + the sea bass. Outstanding!!! And chocolate fondant for dessert. Everything was delicious, our waiter was super sweet and efficient. He suggested to pair our courses with wine and it was really good too!

Yelp
One of my most favorite restaurants in Prague. It is the place to go if you want to surprise your partner with a romantic dinner or want to spend a nice evening with your closest. The atmosphere of this place is magical, intimate and you feel like being in a different world. Their chef is a specialist when it comes to Indian cuisine and their sommelier is a magician when it comes to food and wine pairing. Definitely go with his recommendation :)

Yelp
We came in looking for a good meal while on business travel. We each chose a different version of the degustation menu. In my case, I chose the seasonal one with the Lamb chops. Each course was tasty. While the sum of the meal seemed only a modest amount of food, I was quite satisfied while I was done. The service was excellent and not overwhelming, which is an experience I've had at the higher end restaurants I'd previously been to in Prague. Drinks-wise, it's definitely a better place to be if you're a wine drinker than a beer drinker. Since I'm sensitive to stuff in most wine, I often look for beer options. A few bottles of appropriately paired options would be nice. However, it is Prague after all, and to the beer question is do you want Urquell or Kozel?

Yelp
Scrolling through my checkin's, I found this little gem from my visit last year! Can you believe it's been a year since I've been to Prague? The city has such great Old World Charm, and V Zatisi is no exception. Blending both traditional Bohemian Food, with Modern Flair, I found this Michelin Mention Restaurant to be my favorite of the major Euro cities I frequent. Full Disclosure, I'm part Bohemian, so it was a bit of familiarity to my ancestry consumed in this wonderful restaurant. Now, I do not travel with business suits, or "Upscale Attire," yet I was warmly welcomed in business casual clothing, which to be honest was a bit of a shock. I was ready to explain myself, and barter for the hopes of being seated. Nope, Easy! I was a little underdressed, and felt a tad uncomfortable, I guess I'm realizing now there's more reasons to dress up! The Food WAS Spectacular, and the service top notch. I have honestly sent several people I know to your restaurant since our meeting a year back, simply because it was that unique and great. You help make Prague, the great city it is! Keep up the great work, I will surely be back soon.

Yelp
Read about this restaurant and it was on the same street where I was having drinks so decided it was meant to be. I arrived at 9:00 pm without a reservation on a Sunday night and was able to get a table. The dining room is very chic and modern - low lighting, crushed velvet chairs and glass. The restaurant serves Czech and Indian cuisine as the chef is Indian. A bread basket along with warm Naan arrived at the table while I was perusing the menu. There are price-fixed options for either Indian or Czech food. I decided to order a la carte as the price-fixed was too much food. I started with a summer salad which was lovely and ordered the Duck with baked potato and cabbage. The waiter recommended a wine to go with the duck dish. The duck was perfectly cooked, moist and not tough. The red cabbage (or beet?) purée melded perfectly with the duck. I travel alone quite frequently, and most places just stick me in a corner and forget about me. However, the waiter was very attentive and came by my table to check on me a few times. The best surprise? The cost of my meal came to $60 USD! (1490 crowns). In NY or London the meal would have easily been over $100. An amazing value considering the upscale food and environment. I highly recommend trying this restaurant when in Prague. They have a sister restaurant Bellevue, which is pricier and has Castle views. But if you are looking for a nice, mid-range place near The Charles Bridge you can't go wrong here.

Yelp
A culinary surprise in a city full of them! To begin with, the space and the service are impeccable. As for the food-the whole point, perhaps? 5 stars for the Indian degustation, 4 stars for the traditional Czech (though have it be known-this could be personal preference!). It is clear from the attention paid that these chefs are passionate about their craft, and that is highlighted in the service. The sous chef is Indian, and has been given glorious free reign. The traditional menu is GOOD, don't get me wrong! What a creative way to experience the local fare. I suggest getting one of each, and sharing. Invite me to join-I'll go back anytime.

Yelp
I love Indian food, so I was excited to give V Zatsi a try while I was visiting Prague. This place is definitely upscale - pretty fancy interior and the menu options are a variety of different tasting/multi-course set menus. Between the four of us I tried the Czech appetizer sampler, quail breast, rabbit stew, sea bass, tikka masala, and paneer. The Indian food was decent (with the tikka masala winning out over the paneer, imo), but the Czech dishes were better - I'd stick with those. Prices are fairly high, expect to spend at a bare minimum, $50 USD/person, and you can double that if you're doing lot of courses and having a drink or two. Overall fairly good food, and an interesting combination of cuisines.

Yelp
Properly good. Definitely go for the tasting menu, refreshing menu considering the other offerings in Prague.

Yelp
The amuse-bouche was an excellent foreshadowing of the meal to come, well-balanced, well-executed, and well-combined tastes. Started off with the foie gras. Excellent use of passion fruit and pineapple to balance the fattiness. The South Bohemian duck, both the leg and the filet, was well executed and obviously tasty. An unconventional mixture of duck sauce and beet purée goes well with the duck. The fried dumplings incorporate yet more duck and are therefore much better than the traditional Czech dumplings. The cheese plate had a reasonable international selection but was otherwise unremarkable (hence no picture). The crème brûlée again, was nothing special, but well-executed. The strudel, pictured, was both tasty and artistically presented. I forewent the Menus de Degustation and wine pairings, though my co-diners ordered them and were very happy with their choices. My co-diner loved the pea soup despite not liking peas.

Yelp
I had no idea that you could so beautifully fuse Eastern European and Indian food so well. I'm going to be dreaming about their tiger prawns and tandoori chicken for ages. Everyone in my party was happy with their food. Service and ambiance were also great!!
google avatar

Anni V.

Yelp
Had the Indian tasting menu. Very good. 5 courses. Fish was particularly delicious. But come hungry. I had to pack my meal to go as I couldn't finish it all !

Yelp
Before I went there, I thought myself " what in the world is Czech and Indian fusion??? But it was a fantastic restaurant. Bit off from the crowded road, inside is a cozy, welcoming place with little noise, quite romantic actually. I had a craving for chicken tikka masala and my bf and I both ordered that and it was great. It really hit the spot. I had lime chili prawn as appetizer and it was awesome. My BF had ravioli with Gorgonzola cheese and it was better than any good Italian restaurant. Also the presentation of the food was upscale. We skipped the dessert but we are very satisfied with our dinner and highly recommend it.

Yelp
Dining Date July 16, 2015 for dinner. Excellent flank steak cooked perfectly. All the food was delicious from the guy gorgonzola ravioli to the chocolate mousse. Service was perfect and we had an excellent night out with our work colleagues.

Yelp
*****reader note: i rate based on ambiance and yumminess of food. i never consider service in my rating (no matter how bad or good)****** Service was impeccable as expected (still doesnt affect my rating). Food was good and mediocre at best. I've had the same stuff in ghetto area of Houston with a much cheaper price and way better flavors. I personally do not think this place is worth it. But if you looking for good wine, good service and mediocre food, then be my guest. Food: 3/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Worth it? nah

Yelp
A wonderful dining experience. From the service to the food everything was excellent.

Yelp
Hubby and I came into the restaurant with very low expectations of being able to be get in on Saturday on a bank holiday weekend however we got lucky and secured a seat in the bar area which incidentally is comprised of two tables. Decor is cool and sleek, and has a great Indian fusion menu. There are only options from a set menu - two to five course tasting menus with wine pairing options which given the size of the dishes suits me just fine. We started with a champagne and along came a delicious amuse Bouche of foie gras with bread and warm naan. ordered the two and three course menus with wine pairings and had the following : Goats cheese with strawberry purée which was paired with a Sauvignon blanc Warm asparagus with a Riesling Mustard seed encrusted king prawns with a Riesling Chicken tikka masala with a Pinot noir Apple strudel with a sweet white wine All delicious dishes with great service to boot! And even after all that, this meal was only a little over £110, which I find extremely reasonable for what is considered to be Michelin quality. I would absolutely return just make sure to get a reservation!!
google avatar

Yelp
Interesting that all I've ever heard about the food in Prague is "boring". V Zatisi turns that myth upside down! Wow is this restaurant good ! OMG! A Czech Indian mix of flavors like I have never experienced. I have eaten Indian food all over the world - but this is the best EVER. And it not only Indian !!! Not cheap - but don't miss this restaurant - it's worth it !!!
google avatar

Nina B.

Yelp
Why this restaurant didn't get all 5 stars is beyond me; everything we had was so exquisite tasting and creatively conceived and presented we were all blown away, not to mention wonderful and attentive service. The radish soup was one of the most interesting flavor combinations. My Czech style catfish, my husband's Tandoori Chicken, and my son's veal dish were all each fantastic; they are fabulous with the vegetable accompaniments as well. I am shocked by the reviewers who complain of the price of the meal; in NY or LA you could never get a meal this good for their prices, it would be far more expensive. Plus the ambiance of the restaurant is very beautiful and romantic; we felt a bit shabby as we were casually dressed and had just come from traveling. Do yourself a favor, dress up a bit and make reservations here!
google avatar

Sharon S.

Yelp
This place is out of this world, extremely high end dining with the service matching to the great work of the chef and their food! Went here for my birthday dinner whilst visiting Prague, this meal and the experience will long stay with me forever! Husband and I had 4 courses, he opted for paired wines whilst I had prosecco. Over the course of the evening my husband was attended to so well by the sommelier with generous top ups despite the paired wines coming at a fixed price - the meal was amazing value, all in we spent approx €145! bargain!
google avatar

Jim R.

Yelp
Outstanding! Hard to imagine how to fuse together Czech and Indian, but they did it expertly...Great service also. Don't miss the tiger prawns and lamb chops...
google avatar

Sabrina N.

Yelp
Very good! I had the lamb chops for my main course and the tandoori chicken as a starter. The wine list was impeccable. They brought out two local Chardonnays for me to try and I enjoyed both! Didn't try dessert but can't wait to go back. The reason why I gave 4 stars is bc last night my traditional Czech dinner was not beatable lol

Yelp
Fantastic food and excellent service. We made a last minute late reservation when another establishment kept extending our waiting time. We were very well received especially as one of us is vegan and there are also several food allergies. The traditional Bohemian duck with condiments with a twist was fantastic. The restaurant also has an Indian chef who makes excellent vegetarian/vegan options. The service was flawless.

Yelp
We found this place off Trip Advisors. If your looking for the top of the top places, very fancy, great selection of wine, great food, and to wooo your spouse, this is the place! Ranked #2 on Trip Advisor but they say it should be #1 in the city and I agree. So glad we went here. But, be prepared to fork some money, this is not cheap by any means.
google avatar

Yelp
Great menu for both local tastes or wider international options. The Kulajda soup and South Bohemian duck are amazing, very different combinations of ingredients and flavors that capture local Czech tastes. Wine pairings are perfect with again with regional options. You can eat for much less in Prague but if you want a break from beer and sausage it's worth your time. #checkinforsags

Yelp
Came here after looking for a reservation on a Sunday night and this was the only restaurant available that had an opening. The restaurant has a lovely decor with a bar area and several dining areas. We were promptly seated once we arrived in a quiet area of the restaurant. The menu is quite interesting in that it has a mix of Indian cuisine and Czech cuisine. They also have an interesting pricing option where everything is ordered in 2,3 or 4 course options at set prices. I opted for the kuljada soup (sour cream, potato, mushrooms) and black angus flap steak while my wife ordered the summer salad and the tandoori butter chicken. All of the items were well-prepared. My wife's summer salad though seemed to be an interesting combination of fruits and vegetables with gorgonzola cheese and poppy seed dressing. It was an interesting combination and while it was decent, it wasn't something that we'd get again. The soup was quite good. The steak was quite good although could have used more seasoning to bring out the flavor. The butter chicken and naan were good too although the naan had a special flavor in it (perhaps it was whole wheat) so it was not the typical naan that we were expecting. We also had the ice cream and profiterole for dessert. But by that time, we were quite stuffed. All in all, it was a decent meal at a decent price.
