Va Bene

Our server Tom was one of the most personable professional server we have had in a long time. He did a great job helping us pick out a wine and was patient. Food was fantastic, we will make this our go to place when we visit.

I can see why this is rated the number one restaurant by Trip Advisor in Duluth. Absolutely a gem of a place in Duluth. I would highly encourage getting a reservation. You might end up waiting quite a bit to get a table without one. The view of Superior is spectacular if you can score outdoor seating. The food....what can I say? Absolutely delicious. My wife is gluten intolerant and they can make most of their dishes gluten free. They even have gluten free pastas and all their sauces are already gluten free. The staff is wonderful. Overall 5/5.

Really enjoyed our meal! The honey goat cheese with pear appetizer was great. We also loved the complementary focaccia bread. The pesto frutti di mar was divine! We enjoyed the chocolate and pistachio gelato, so good! It was a wonderful experience.

First time here, surprisingly enough, since we have heard a ton of great things. The server was very knowledgeable about the entire menu and made several good suggestions based on what we liked. The appetizer, goat cheese crostini, was very good. I definitely want to go back...soon! The back room was a cool experience, couldn't beat the view even though we are locals!

Cute little brunch place with a view of the lake (you may have to reserve a table before hand to guarantee a lake view). Food was good and fresh, and service was quick. This was my birthday lunch, and I got a scoop of gelato on the house!

Want good food and a great view of Lake Superior? Eat here! There is indoor and outdoor seating. You’re probably only about 25 feet from the lake. We ordered the Honey Goat Cheese with Pear Crostini this appetizer was light and sweet. I enjoyed their Signature Italian Soup. I hit the spot on the cold windy day we were having. My only issue I had with the soup was that I was expecting a bowl, and it was a cup of soup, but it was delicious. My dining companion ordered the Capesante and said it was delicious. It came with a heaping amount of angel hair pasta and three very large scallops.

What an incredible dining experience. Gorgeous location right on the water with a beautiful view of downtown Duluth. The service was exceptional. The server made some incredible recommendations with the apps and dishes. The espresso martini was exceptional! The cookies and cream gelato was the perfect way to cap a perfect meal!

We had a great experience at Va Bene! We got a table in their enclosed solarium, which was still decorated for Christmas and very warm and cozy. Even though we arrived 10 minutes before our reservation, we were seated immediately. Unfortunately it was a cloudy day, but watching the sunset would have been spectacular! Our waiter was incredibly kind and accommodating for us. Four of us shared one large salad and each had a pasta entree and we were pleasantly full. Unfortunately we didn't try the gelato, but it looked spectacular.
