Google
Soooooo good, a perfect lunch stop between Tahoe and the bay area. They serve both cuban staples (chicken, rice, beans; plátanos maduros; ropa vieja) and American brunch foods (eggs; waffles; pancakes). Their chicken plate was so flavorful that I downed it in ten seconds flat. Their plátanos maduros were perfect, nice and ripe. A+++ will tell all my friends. It's a little hole in the wall spot but has the BEST food and ample+clean seating.

Google
Stopped by for the first time yesterday looking for some breakfast. Fiesta omelette and biscuits and gravy. Both were simple and prepared perfectly. I'd definitely go again next time in the area.

I came with a friend who I hadn't seen in a while and we both really enjoyed every part of our meal. I'm spacing on the name of my dish, but it was one of the traditional Cuban plates and it was absolutely fantastic. They also had exceptional coffee. We were thankful for the great staff who provided wonder service and let us hang out and catch up.

Google
The food is amazing but the people here are even better. We tried a little of everything meat pies, ropa vieja, pollo de Plato, fries, croquetas, papas rellenos. I would say definitely try the meat pies, pollo de Plato, and ropa vieja. The rest you could live without. The people here are lovely they are attentive and patient with us and looking at the menu over and over again and even came out with chicken papas rellenos that were pretty good for us to just try. I would also say try the smoothies definitely worth it.

Google
Came today for a brunch, and our party of 7 ordered half the menu. Nothing disappointed, flavor, presentation, service, everything top notch! If you consider yourself a foodie this place is a must try in VV.

Google
A wonderful small cafe set back in a quiet neighborhood in vacaville. When i stepped inside the place smelled like my abuela’s kitchen so i immediately knew something was going to be good. You can’t go wrong with the cuban sandwich, although they serve a killer pan con bistec and the ropa vieja plato is really good. everything was perfect and the owner is very sweet. My abuela would be jealous.

Google
Great coffee and pastries. Haven’t had too much of their food yet but so far i have not been disappointed. The sisters here are very considerate and has a family vibe on the place. I enjoy this place and hope they remain consistent in what they offer.

Yelp
Great service and the food was delicious. We had the ropa vieja, cubano sandwich and papa rellenas. All were wonderful. The green sauce they give you on the side for the papas rellenas was very tasty. Everything tasted so fresh.

Yelp
My sister and I stopped there for a snack, and it had been awhile since we had eaten there. My sister had biscuits and gravy, a " Senior " portion, which was quite generous! I had a delicious meat pie. It was served on a croissant type bread. Service was excellent, the establishment is very clean and well laid out. A huge selection of coffee..I would recommend this business.

Yelp
This review is for the iced macchiato I had. It was very good! The espresso was rich and smooth, perfectly balanced with the cold milk, and lightly sweetened. I would have liked it a little stronger, but overall I really enjoyed the drink. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

Yelp
The people that work here really do make the place. They were amazing! Explained everything and were super kind! The restaurant was clean and the pastries on display looked delicious.... The Papas Rellenas were good when they come out and are piping hot! I loved the dip that it came with. The side salad was delicious! The dressing was amazing. I ordered the ropa vieja sandwich... the meat was full of flavor and was delicious!! The bread was amazing! Super soft and good! And then an expresso chatta to drink.... Soooo good! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Favorite Local Brunch/Lunch Stop when in the area. Service is amazing. The owner is always very friendly and never fails to greet us when we stop by. The little host and hostess also bring together the life of this little family owned restaurant. Always brightens up our day! Our go to's are: The Cafe Con Leche. Tried them hot and cold, both, ON POINT! The meat pies are my personal favorite. The guava and cheese Pastellito's, when I am craving a sweet cheesy treat.

Yelp
We had breakfast here and it was delicious but I was devastated to see there were only two people working there, the cashier (also barista and server) and the cook. These two ladies were lovely but they were so busy and stressed. The place was packed and it was impossible for 2 people to attend to everyone. The food took long but I completely understood why. I hope the owners see this comment because they needs to hire someone else. I will not comeback until I see an extra helper.

Yelp
I visited Cuba Cafe for the first time recently. You order at the front counter when you walk inside and they have indoor and outdoor seating available to enjoy your meal. Everyone that we encountered was very nice. The young lady at the counter asked whether the meal was going to be to go or eaten in the cafe. I chose to eat there and found a table and waited for my food to arrive. I ordered the pollo con frijoles y arroz with a mango smoothie. The flavors were really good and I loved the rice! The papusas and strawberry smoothie was also good. I will definitely be stopping by again to try some other items on the menu.

Yelp
Play in the Glen Brook Center strip mall sits is cute Cuban restaurant next to the Maya supermarket. The service was fantastic and the food is fresh, hot and savory the Ropa Vieja omelette was to die for! Very large portions served with Cuban toast and black beans and rice. I will definitely be back to try the other amazing items on the menu.

Yelp
After visiting the Miami, FL area only a couple weeks prior to coming to "Cuba Cafe", I still had the strong urge for some Cuban food cravings. But being back in California, there isn't a whole lot of options. And I was pleasantly surprised to stumble across this place as I was making my way from Sacramento to Napa. Established in 2016, Cuba Cafe is located on the northwest side of Vacaville in a small strip mall at S. Orchard Ave. and W. Monte Vista Ave. They do have limited hours of operation being opened Tuesday through Sunday from 9am to 4pm while being closed for business on Monday. I ended up coming here during the early afternoon of Saturday 4/6/2024 at around 12:15pm. Parking was very easy to find while the business was also simple to identify with large green block lettering. The inside, however is very cheerful, well-lit, and very inviting. The yellowish-green walls brightens up the vibe here. The two LED screens show a very vibrant menu showcasing Cuban breakfast items, pastries, espresso drinks, smoothies, and a bunch of sides. Since I was just looking for some small bites, I ended up ordering (2) "Croquetas" with (1) "Guava & Cheese" pastry and (1) "Cafe Con Leche" (which is espresso & steamed milk); their version of a Cafe Latte. Everything came out to a very reasonable $10 + tax. My Croquetas were ready in just a couple minutes followed by the pastry and my drink a few minutes after that. I will say that having gone to the Little Havana area of Miami, this place definitely gives it a run for its money. I was pleasantly surprised with how delicious and authentic everything tasted. I also spoke with I believe was the owner of the business. Him and the staff were very gracious and accommodating of letting me photograph the inside of the business as I even had a conversation how there just isn't many Cuban spots in California with this being the only one in Vacaville. Great quiet locations, reasonable prices, friendly staff, and delicious food. What's not to like about "Cuba Cafe"? My rating, a unanimous five stars.

Yelp
Este lugar es una Joya. This place is a jewel homie. First off seems and proud to say that the business is doing good. They came out with key chains, definitely means that they are doing something good. Every time I slide through "Vaca" we end up grabbing a Pastelito, cafecito, or a Cubana. Which I recommend you try the Pastelitos Guava con Queso, Carne and I know they have a third one that I can't recall. Super good full of flavor light and crispy pair that with a cafecito con leche or a Cortado. You'll have a great start to a day. Had the Cubana today super light, toasted smeared with some butter on top of the bread. Look chikas and homies stop by and show them some love. You won't regret it. The service is great very Familia Oriented Business.

Yelp
Let's start with the pupusas .. they are not made fresh when I asked when they were made the women said she didn't know that it could have been the day before or a few days ago.. and they were not good.. The sausage that comes with breakfast taste like cheap hotdogs the bacon was perfectly crisp the scrambled eggs were ok the toast was delicious the French toast was eatable but not really good Ok the burger : the patty was perfect the flavor the size I loved that The sandwich was delicious Over all I couldn't really complain but it could very well be better .. it's just not worth the price

Yelp
Omg I can't believe I didn't know about this place! It's a cute little family owned business with very welcoming staff. The place is clean and has vibrant decor around the restaurant. The food is AMAZING! We ordered two different plates and some coffee. We were not disappointed. These dishes are authentic and have so much flavor packed in them. We devoured it lol. The coffee was amazing as well. It was espresso with steamed milk, sugar and made to perfection. Everything was chefs kiss. I'll definitely be back as they are easily one of my top five favorites now.

Yelp
Mom wanted Porto's and I heard this was similar. We got the Cuban sandwich. Ham, cheese, roast pork, mustard and pickles. The bread was toasted and soft. Really good. Also got the Papas Rellenos. Tastes like Porto's. Took home a couple turnovers. Guava & cheese and coconut. Light, flakey, and warm. I couldn't taste the cheese. Maybe she gave me just guava. Still good. Quick service and friendly staff.

Nancy R.

Yelp
My favorite Cuban restaurant! We stop there every time we can. Service is great, coffee is amazing, super affordable and always clean and welcoming environment. Service is friendly and attentive. We love this place

Yelp
Vacaville is so lucky to have this place!!! The food is SO GOOD. After the first time I tried this place, I ended up going back 4 days in a row. I'm pretty sure anything you get from here will be good. You won't be disappointed. The first thing I tried was the pan con bistec, the ropa vieja plato and Cuban sandwich. Everything is so flavorful and tastes like a home cooked meal. The ropa vieja plato was my favorite. And the fried plantains are perfection. Get extra of that. The pastries are also amazing. The guava one is my favorite. The options they have are the meat pies, guava, and guava and cheese. Aside from the delicious food, the service is great as well. They are super quick and very friendly. I really love the family friendly vibes they have. I will definitely be coming back here!

Yelp
I have had this place bookmarked for-ever. I finally dropped on by for a weekend lunch. The counter service cafe is in a neighborhood shopping center in the suburbs across from a fire station. Once I stepped inside the cafe, I felt the welcoming vibes. The owner was talking to old and new customers in Spanish and English. Treating everyone like a new friend. Luv that. The food was pretty darn tasty. I will be honest, I have never been to Cuba. But my taste buds like what they like. And they luved ropa vieja platos (braised beef stew) $16.50 and the papas rellenas (potato balls) 2 for $3. The ropa vieja meat was shredded and flavorful, spiced right packing subtle flavors. I'm gobbled that up. Delicious. The plate was served with conjer (black beans and rice) and fried plantains. Mmm. The plantations were fried to a nice caramelization to the perfect natural sweetness. The potato balls were made of mashed potatoes filled with a ground beef and deep fried to a crisp golden exterior. Those are comfort food for sure. Every culture seems to have a version of potato balls. Theirs did not disappoint. The pastries are all homemade and sell out quickly. The customer in front of me was a regular. She told me all the pastries are home made and are delicious. But after I ate, when I went back inside to buy some pastries. I was slow on the roll, they sold out. The interior is bright, modern, clean, and comfortable. They have indoor and outdoor seating. It is a small quaint place serving up mighty tasty food. I will definitely be back and to try other menu items and will not snooze on the pastries.

Yelp
Some fellow Pickleball players and I have a breakfast with each other on a regular basis. We choose small restaurants in Davis, Dixon, and Winters. I chose the Cuba Cafe and we were rewarded with an outstanding meal. We ordered the Salvadoran breakfast, biscuits and gravy, and a Cuban breakfast sandwich. The flavors were delicious and the portions were very generous. This was my first time there and I will be back.

Yelp
Delicious! I had a pupusa and a meat pie. The pupusa was full and soft and their salsa was very tasty. The meat pie had a flavorful filling of ground beef and onions and the pastry was flaky. It does take a few minutes for the food to be ready but then you know it's coming to you fresh. All of the workers were very nice and helpful. Definitely a place to stop by!

Yelp
Came here for lunch on a Saturday, and it was so worth it! It's about a 10 min drive from the outlet, but this spot exceeded my expectations. I have been missing Porto's down in SoCal, and the potato balls here have a thinner but crispier crunch that I loved. The ropa vieja (braised shredded beef) was delicious. I've had plantains that were coated heavily with sugar, but this spot doesn't do that - but it was still crispy and delicious. Service was good, and the ambiance was roomy and airy perfect for a meal. Hope to come back in the near future.
google avatar

Yelp
Great service, good amount of indoor and outdoor seating, and amazing food. I'm ready to come back for the ropa vieja plato (Cuban beef stew) and papas rellenas (potato balls).

Jinesca F.

Yelp
Great food the worked are extremely nice and patient. Try to come in every morning to get their coconut pastry which are 10/10. Also their tostones are so good!

Yelp
There aren't too many options in my area for Cuban food that I'm aware of, so when I was scheduling a business lunch with a colleague I thought this would be a good spot; and that it was! This little cafe is located in a grocery store strip mall and seems to do a good, steady business. I love the atmosphere! The decor just screams Ricky Ricardo! Checking in on Yelp gets you a free appetizer. I ordered both croquettes and papas rellenas. Both appetizers were really tasty. For lunch I ordered the Pan con Bistec, or what most would call a very special steak sandwich. It was delicious! The bread, the garlic spread, the sautéed onions, and of course the marinaded steak made for the perfect lunch. I chose beans as my accompaniment, which were good. I could have chosen French fries or sweet potato fries, which I would have preferred but I was trying to be good. The owner/cashier/hostess did a good job of providing very good customer service. She ensured we had everything we needed and answered questions to help with making menu selections. This is another spot I'm going to have to return to.... It was really good!

Yelp
Get the PAPAS RELLENAS. Deep fried mashed potato balls filled with picadillo (ground beef with nonspicy spices). So yummy! It came with this delicious green dipping sauce. If you do a Yelp check-in and order either two sandwiches or entrees, you can get a free order of Papas Rellenas or Croquetas, which have ham inside. I liked that all the food was made to order and served hot. My Cuban sandwich with black beans was comfort food. Not the most meaty sandwich I've had, but satisfying. It contains slow-roasted pork, ham, and melty Swiss cheese. The black beans was more like soup than a side of beans. Some beans had burst, and there is a lot of liquid. However, I do love soup. Ropa Vieja is very saucy, but the shredded beef seemed dry to me. I'm not a fan of pulled pork in general though. Don't arrive too close to closing time at 4 PM because you may be hurried out. Food needs 15 minutes to come out. My mistake was to not wrap up sooner. Owner turned up the volume of the Latin music at 4 PM, smiling and trying to show me she enjoyed or wanted to dance to the music. However, she was nice enough to let me use the restroom one more time to wash up before leaving. Earlier, she also asked me why I was taking so many pictures, so I had to tell her that I post on Yelp. Understandable that she would be protective. English is clearly not her first language, so there is likely a cultural barrier. Here are other items I'd be interested in trying next time: - Empanada or Meat Pie (also filled with the picadillo ground beef) - Cafe con Leche (because I believe Cuban coffee is sweet) - Congri (red beans and rice mixed together) - Guava and Cheese Cuban filo pastry I like that the restaurant also offers omelettes, breakfast sandwiches, and French Toast. When driving to the restaurant, I felt like I was driving on local neighborhood streets. It did not feel commercial at first, but eventually, you will see a plaza. Cuba Cafe is in the same plaza with Maya Supermarket, which sells grocery products from Central and South America and Mexico. If I had had more time, I would have checked out that market to immerse and explore Latin culture.

Yelp
Food 5 stars Service 5 stars Ambiance 5 stars. I wish the location was bigger so that I could bring all my friends and just feast. Geysi always greets customers with a smile and I was extremely elated to see that the restaurant was packs and busy this Memorial Day weekend. If you want a taste of Cuba with a nice steaming cup of cafe con leche (2 azúcares por favor), refer to my other reviews and come on in!

Yelp
Cuban food, culture, and Cuba itself has a special place in my heart. This Café is located with Jungle Yogurt. It's small but the menu is decent in size. I've heard some people say it's comparable to Portos, located in southern California and I can see their similarities but the one thing that Cuba Cafe has that Portos does not, it the small vibe home vibe that many cafe's in Cuba have all including the grumpy cashier (which I hold nothing against, in fact I like her). The Cafe Cubano is hearty. The beans have a good solid flavor and you can rely on them to wake you up. The potato balls were really good with the sauce that it comes with, the guava and cheese turn over was perfectly sweetened, the croquettas was my favorite, and the Cuban sandwich was delicious and cheesy! For sure this place is super underestimated!

Yelp
What a gem. It's a testament, and not a surprise that this Cuban cafe not only survived COVID, but revitalized an otherwise dying shopping center in Old Town Vacaville.

Yelp
A Cuban restaurant in Vacaville??!?!? Yes, imagine my surprise when Cuba Cafe showed up in my recommendations awhile ago. I bookmarked it to try out. Well today is the official day I decided to stop by Cuba Cafe!! It did not disappoint at all!! Service: I was greeted presumably by the owner as I entered. She was in the midst of cooking and told me to let her know when I'm ready to order. She was pleasant and brought my food to my table when it was ready (I was eating in).She even brought me a to go box without me having to ask! Food: The meat and potatoes of this review!! You will get the importance of that lil joke in just a bit. I ordered the Cuban Club Sandwich, Papas Rellenas, and Café con leche. Cuban Club Sandwich- Delicioso!! It's a BLT sandwich with ham and mayo. This was a hefty sized sandwich split into 4 triangular portions with toothpicks in each one. Cuban bread is something special, that is not easy expressed on words! I couldn't finish all of my sandwich and packed the remaining half for leftovers. The CCS can be served with black beans or french fries. I opted for the French fries. Those bad boys were nice and hot! Papas Rellenas- Two big fried balls of meat and potatoes served with a scrumptious side of sauce. I think the sauce was a mustard and possible oil mix.. it was divine! I was only able to eat one whole papa rellena and packed away the other half of my Cuban Club Sandwich. Café con leche (with sugar)- Served in a huge mug with a small plate underneath. It came to my table hot (it was brought out last). The owner was kind in accommodating my request to use oatmilk instead of regular milk (team lactose intolerant in the building!!). She asked if I wanted to use oat or the hemp milk. No fuss, no judgment. I really appreciated that!! I wouldn't describe the coffee as strong, I would say it has a very robust flavor and aroma!! I'm not a fan of strong roasted coffee, but, this was a different brew of coffee. I'm not sure what brand is used here, but, I wish more places served it! It never tasted burnt. It was a robust flavor from first sip to the last. Mmmm...I miss it already! Ambiance: Although it was a gloomy day, the decor of the place made it bright and cherry. It had that feel of being in Cuba! It was fun to look at! I can appreciate a restaurant that's decorative and full of color...it really brings life into a restaurant!! No stuffy restaurant vibes at Cuba Cafe! Price: Much like everything these days, costs of gone up. The prices here are up compared to pictures of menus from years past. Yes, it's a lil "pricey", but, it's affordable. I rather put my money into a local business, with authentic food versus junk fast food. The amount of food I received for what I paid is pretty generous!! Especially when it came to the meat! While other restaurants are stingy with bacon on sandwiches(for example), Cuba Cafe is not. I thoroughly enjoyed my dine in experience at Cuba Cafe. I'm thrilled I have another local eatery I can add to my list and tell everyone I know about it! I will absolutely return! ¡¡Muchas gracias Cuba Café!! ¡¡Hasta pronto!!

James D.

Yelp
Cute little shop! Very friendly and helpful staff. I had the Cubano sandwich with crispy sweet potato fries. They were the perfect crispness. Nothing worse than a limp sweet potato fry. I also had the papas relleno and croqueta. Both were great but the croqueta was the best.
google avatar

Melissa G.

Yelp
Drove here from Sacramento. I was looking forward to trying authentic Cuban food. I attempted to order croquetas and was told they would be ready in 3 hours. Hmm.. that wasn't going to work. I found it peculiar that that they sell pupusas but I decided to order one. Unfortunately, it was not hot and the masa was not fully cooked. I ordered a guava and cheese pastelito to go. Was excited to try it as I usually rarely get to have pastelitos. The best are sold at Portos in SoCal. When I got home, I was going to warm it up but felt that it was hard/stale. I could tell it was not made the same day. After taking several bites, I did not find the cheese. I was given a guava pastry. It also fell apart all over the place. Overall, I was dissatisfied with my experience. Considering all the reviews, I was expecting to have a really great experience.

Amy M.

Yelp
I finally stopped in to this small cafe. The Cuban coffee is wonderful. The pupusas are fresh and they taste exquisite! Never eat a Costco pupusa ever again! Come to Cuba Cafe!

Kathleen K.

Yelp
We tried this for the first time and it was great! The Plato Pollo was really good the seasonings were tasty- Loved it. The service was great, clean. We will do this again!

Yelp
Was doing some work in Vacaville and got a Cuban food cravin and as you know Yelp always comes through!!! Came to Cafe Cuba and was pleasantly surprised with great service and very good food ! Had the Cuban sandwich and it was delicious - well seasoned and cooked to perfection! Papa's rellenas and a Malta (if you know - you know ! ) . Me and my business partner enjoyed our lunch and I will definitely come back when passing by Vacaville!
google avatar

Needa N.

Yelp
The food is hands down the best of the best ! Cute small cafe. I've never had Cuban food before and I was pleasantly surprised. It's an hr drive for me to get to, but it's definitely worth it! The service is great. Staff is friendly and helpful. Everything is fresh. Will definitely keep coming back.

Yelp
OMG !!! I'm soooooo happy I found this place. Seriously the best coffee I've ever had!!! It's authentic Cuban coffee too. Also obsessed with the Cuban sandwich and multiple sides. I wish this place was closer to me. I also love the vibe inside and how authentic the whole place feels. The service is really great too. You can really tell that they care a lot

Kimberly S.

Yelp
This place is extremely good. I had the fiesta omelette. Service is excellent and atmosphere is very clean. Our service was excellent as well. The employees are very friendly. I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
I'm in Vacaville today. The weather is spectacular today. I must say this neighborhood looks nice. This is at the Glenbrook Center. I noticed how it's next to a Holy Ground Ministry, Fantasy Cakes, and Maya Supermarket. The last time I had a Ropa Vieja Plato was about 10 months ago. I had this in a Latin American version, but I never had this dish Cuban style. I want to know what's the difference. The portion is somewhat big for a Ropa Vieja Plato. I think the last time I had Ropa Vieja Plato, it was more subtle in taste. Not saying that's a good or bad thing. I always go for different things, on different days, depending on my mood. The Black Beans and Rice had like a Dirty Rice element to it. The Beef Stew is bold, savory, and packed with an explosion of flavor. The Plantains were fried up absolutely perfectly, it reminds me of a Fried Banana or Banana Foster. I didn't expect it to come with Avacado slices. It really cut through everything, and added that something something. And I'm surprised how fresh the Avacado was, it had no bruises or oxidation. It was executed very well. I checked out Maya Supermarket right after this, and it was awesome. I already know I have to return to the Taqueria inside Maya Supermarket next time. There's everything there from the best Queso Fresco Cheese, Artisan Tres leches Cake at the Bakery, Carne Asada from the Butcher, great selection of Tortilla in one aisle, and the smokiest Ancho Chile. I was thinking this was going to be a 4.0-4.3 stars, but I give this 4.4 stars.

Yelp
Best breakfast in Vacaville! Everyone has to come here at least once! Good service and good food! Cant wait to go back!

Yelp
It's so hard to find Cuban food in Sacramento and nearby. So when I am craving Portos but can't drive to LA, I am glad this hole in the wall spot exists. Been craving fried plantains and this spot offers a side order. I shared a Cubano Sandwich but fell in love with the meat pie. Both came out hot and fresh. I would come back for more of those meat pies and try the potato balls next time.
google avatar

Jantel C.

Yelp
Food was great! Potato balls were really delicious! Freshly cooked and flavorful. The guava and cheese was tasty too. We also ordered bistec sandwich but forgot to take a picture. Also delicious!!

Yelp
First time eating here. Opinion is a must try! Today we tried a variety of dishes. The Cuban Hamburger: was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. Served with a choice of potato fries or cup of black beans. Chicken, rice and beans: my hat off to owner/chief. Transforming basic ingredients to a spectacular dish packed full of flavor tender goodness requires skill, heart and soul. The Cuban Sandwich: delicious and crispy. The cheese pull was missing. I may have ordered this incorrectly. Served with a choice of potato fries or cup of black beans. I was pleasantly surprised with how this café was able to expose me to their culture through music decor and food. The establishment is well-maintained, and the pride of ownership shows. Customer service: I was served by the owner, she was so kind and thrilled to learn that it was my first time trying their food.

Yelp
My husband and I absolutely love Cuba Cafe! It's our go-to spot, and I always make sure to bring anyone who hasn't discovered this hidden gem. The coffee is amazing, and the ropa vieja is hands down my favorite dish. If you haven't been yet, I highly recommend giving it a try--it's always a treat!

Yelp
We had cuban coffes, tostones, cuban sandwich and ropa viejo plus guava cheese turnover. All well done and worth the drive.

Food and service is excellent. Black bean side to the Cuban Sandwich are fantastic. Lightly seasoned and so flavorful. The sandwich is hot, and delicious. We will be back
