"Ah, the Vagabond Hotel. Despite what the (historic) sign out front says, it’s not a “motel” anymore, and it’s nowhere near South Beach, but on Biscayne Boulevard, in the city’s slowly awakening Upper East Side. It’s got ’50s roots, but like many vintage landmarks, the motel fell into disrepair. Fast forward to the future: after sitting empty for years, the MiMO icon got the star treatment, and it reopened in 2014." - Mark Fedeli

I stayed here f1 evening. My airbnb wasn't ready yet. It was under/at $90. My room was FINE. Mini fridge worked, pool was nice, pool towels available AT the pool, and there we're covered areas. KEY! My A/C wasn't really working and a gal from the front office came right up, was super friendly and helpful and knew just what to do with the thermostat. BOOM, FIXED. Vagabond is a central location for downtown, Hikes, main thoroughfares. No frills. Clean, quiet plenty of parking.

Google
It is worth staying here just for the pool. 8ft deep end and the warmest pool I've ever been in. The rooms are fine and what you would expect from a motel. There is a fridge a microwave and coffee making facilities. There is a small drive to the main shops in Palm Springs. There are a few restaurants within walking distant of the motel but do book because some were fully booked. The views are amazing. There appeared to be a cafe next to the pool but didn't look like it had ever been open. Overall I would recommend this motel and hope to go back soon.

Google
It's not bad if you get a good rate! The pool was deep which was good; rooms had neat/nice decor. Location pretty good, only location that would be better would be walking distance to the downtown IMO, but it's a quick drive. Only small issue was chairs in room were a bit old/stained up, but overall not bad place.

I stayed here for a week, and found it to be comfortable and clean. I would definitely stay again. Everything in the room was fine, and the motel has a very attractive pool area!||Please note, I work in computer security and the Wi-Fi network had security problems (I noticed someone attempting a man-in-the-middle attack). Open Wi-Fi networks are generally insecure, so please be careful what you do on any 'open' or public Wi-Fi. As long as you avoid logging into anything that requires a password, or protect yourself with a VPN, it's fine.

Stayed 2 nights while on a bicycle tour in the area. Very friendly staff and quick check-in. Rooms were clean, spacious and had all the usual amenities. The pool and hot tub were superb....... the pool was large and water temperature just right, and the hot tub was perfect after a long day of cycling. Both were sparkling clean. The rates were reasonable and I would definitely stay again if I was in the area.

Checked-in quite late at night. Our room was right across from the lobby on ground level, and car parking right out front of room, so both handy for us. At the time I booked, it was mention free breakfast, but they never went back to it after Covid, so we were disappointed to find that out night before. Room was average, but comfy and beds comfy as well, so good sleeps. We enjoyed the views from pool area of the spectacular mountain. Hot tub not working at that time. Pool was only heated for the weekend. Hotel and pool area very quiet, during our 4 night stay. All front desk staff were friendly. Funny to see alcoholic beverage machines, and frozen food ones in front lobby along with snack and other drinks machines.

Google
Location: great, close to downtown Palm Springs Parking: Free and close by Rooms: the old bones of the motel show, somewhat strange smell in room that would no go away, dated bathroom that could have been cleaned better, some broken furniture. Overall ok for a night or two for the price you pay. Pool: somewhat dated, pool was very warm (it was 45 degrees outside so that was likely the culprit), pool could have been skimmed, lots of families playing loud music

Chris Divyak

Google
The location is very close to downtown and the pool was clean and warm. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. It doesn’t have all of the resort amenities but we would definitely stay here again when we are in Palm Springs. Lots of parking (for free) and quiet because it’s tucked up against the hill.

Yelp
I don't know why so many bad reviews. This place is great for the money. We stayed 2 nights (April 2024). Room 238 all the way in the back. Great AC in the room, good water pressure, has a nice TV, fridge and microwave. Everything you need for a spot to lay your head. My kids spent all day in the pool and hot tub and loved it! My husband enjoyed the covered patio area next to the pool that had tables and chairs. I relaxed on the lounge chairs. If you are looking for a newly renovated, no carpet, upscale place then go somewhere else. Old baseboards and some peeling paint isn't a deterrent for us. This place served our needs and was great! We will be back.

Yelp
This hotel is perfect for a quick trip to Palm Springs that you're not spending too much for 1 night. The room itself was clean, had running water and had everything we needed. It was easily accessible by elevator to the 2nd floor overlooking the parking lot and the beautiful Palm trees. Would recommend for a weekend getaway

Cecilia C.

Yelp
Stayed here for two nights and it was honestly worth it. The rooms look exactly like the photos, they had fresh sheets and ac that worked amazing. It is located in a good area and is close to all the main attractions in PS. I recommend staying here.

Mark H.

Yelp
We stayed here again in two rooms for New Year's Eve 2023. Some restaurants in walking distance and a short drive to downtown. The hotel is good but often smells of weed and some of the smell may enter the room. There is an elevator. Mountain facing rooms face south with a better view and receive some winter sunlight. Town facing rooms face north and may be cooler from spring through fall. Fair Wi-Fi speed, about 40 Mbps speed when some guests have checked out. To switch on the heating, press the mode button on the console until it shows a sun icon, set the temperature, and wait a few minutes. Elegant light fixtures! One room had no soap and low water pressure in the shower.

Pita L.

Yelp
This was the cheapest spot for the weekend we were in Palm Springs. Booked it for one night. For the price and locations, we enjoyed it a lot! There was makeup stains on the bedding and a big bug on the window. But the sheets were clean and the bathroom was spacious. The motel itself felt SAFE. Like I could go down to my car and grab stuff at midnight. The room was decent, we would book again. I would bring my own blankets and pillow though.

Shannon B.

Yelp
It's a nice place if you need a last minute option. The front desk employee was a very nice elderly man who was extremely sweet. The only downfall was the AC units in the room. I think they need to be cleaned more. I felt like I was getting sick because of it. I wish there was a few more options closer to the hotel. It felt a little unsafe walking in the parking lot at night. Would come again if I need a last minute booking.

Nicole S.

Yelp
Bumps up against a mountain, easy access, clean and spacious room with plentiful, easy and close parking with walkways for your suitcase.

Kathleen Z.

Yelp
Clean comfortable rooms. Staff very accommodating. Will stay again. Loved not having to pay resort and parking fees

Robert Z.

Yelp
Visited 6/21/2022 Easy Check In. Staff was Friendly and helpful. Good location for a budget minded Inn. Room was clean and comfortable and well stocked with everything you need for an overnighter. Nice refrigerator and microwave in room. Great large Television. Beautiful Color and Picture. Nice pool and Jacuzzi. Only complaints are The Air conditioning doesn't get the room cool enough. Definitely needs improvement in the high heat in Palm Springs. Only one Ice Machine and it's at the front desk. A long walk from the room I was in. Not good for being in the desert. Beware they Charge $25.00 Extra for early Check In. That's Ridiculous for a empty hotel. Still I give this place a 3 1/2 Stare Review.

K L.

Yelp
Checked into the Vagabond and discovered they didn't have any hot water. Also found out that the pool and Jacuzzi was closed for a week due to maintanance. ( No word about it when I made the reservations nor did the check-in person tell me) After the first night, the next day, the room wasn't made up. I then noticed that the was a sheet of paper on the desk that read, no room cleaning service for two day stays and if you want cleaning service on the third day, you need to schedule it. Wtf? I am paying a highly inflated rate for a shitty motel and no cleaning service. This place is not what it promised. Cannot recommend this Motel.

Yelp
If you are looking for a modern hotel room for an affordable price and don't mind a short drive to downtown... I highly recommend Vagabond inn. I booked a stay here back in Apr. 2021 for 2 nights. More recently, I had a pleasant one night stay at the Vagabond Inn. I find the location quite close to city attractions and the downtown food scene as well. I find their staff to be welcoming and helpful staff. For general questions the Hotel Front desk agent can be of assistance. From around 11pm to opening shift the hotel has an employee who does surveillance rounds at night to ensure guest safety. The hot tub closes at 11pm. I woke up around 4 am to see a bug crawl from above my bed down the wall towards the pillows. I have attached a picture to my review. I was not too excited to see the critter but I also understand bugs are common everywhere. I like the remodeled POP of color in the rooms and the scenic Palm Springs theme in the rooms. Once I was playing around with the lighting in my bathroom I found a interesting switch that creates a backlit look. I look forward to the shower and bathtub getting a REMODEL in the future! I see big things in the future for this hotel given their aesthetic, affordable range, convent location and modern branding. I enjoyed having access to Wifi and the TV. Great selection of channels you don't really see anywhere else. The coffee maker was dirty from other guest uses. I was surprised to see there were no free waters in the fridge for hotel guests nor free sanitizers for guests. This marketing tool can support the hotel, promotional items further ensure customer loyalty. I always enjoy my stay here and I look forward to coming back and taking a dip in your pool. I find I create a lot of good memories at this hotel and I look forward to making more at Vagabond Inn.

Yelp
june 30th 2023 its 113' and no where is there mention that the pool is under construction as i checked in staff does not mention the pool is under construction its even more disappointing when our 14 and 10 year old granddaughters are saddened that they werent able to go swimming we had to stay in room all day the vagabond staff should be obligated to inform there guest that the pool is under construction and allow the guest to decide if they want to continue with there stay especially on a very hot day and children are included how would the staff like it if it was them and they wernt well informed before checking in into vagabond

Anisa A.

Yelp
Perfect if you're just passing through- close enough if you're a walker - downtown is nearby and there are a few spots to eat across the street.

Jhoanna Q.

Yelp
Check in time is at 4pm. I called at 3pm to ask if we can check in early. We'll be arriving at 3:15. Lady told me $25 fee for early check in, but if we come at 3:30 no fee. Our room smells like someone has been smoking. Toilet and tub. Was filthy. Pillows awful. Bed was good enough, lots of parking, location is great We just stayed for 1 night. Will not recommend.

Regina L.

Yelp
Great location, close to everything. High cost for what type of older hotel it is, but understand the thinking behind when the whole city is sold out! Bed is comfortable. Clean

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
This is the best hotel under $100 that I have ever stayed in. And how much under $100? $62! Plus an unbelievably reasonable pet fee of $10. When was the last time I stayed in a hotel actually under $100? I can't believe such a thing still exists, especially this close to downtown Palm Springs. Most people would drive there, but you could conceivably walk. I've spent closer to $150 in the Palm Springs for less desirable areas for hotels that should have been nicer or newer but weren't. This is by no means a 5-star hotel, but it's 5-star for a 2-star. Among its great points is the design of the rooms. They did a really great job in the recent redesign making the rooms mid-century yet comfortable. The room was spacious and the bed had plush white linens. The desk was modern and big enough to be useful. There was a microwave and fridge in the room. There were a number of cubbies where we could spread out our stuff. The shower/bath was clean and seemingly recently upgraded. That and the toilet were separated off from the sink area. A coffeepot was provided at our request. Two of us and our dog could easily have hung out comfortably for a week here. Other hotels in this area that accepted big dogs were insanely expensive, so if you're traveling with a big dog, this is a hot find. The hotel is close to numerous restaurants, and the area around it is gorgeous. There were many places to walk or bike--it's backed up right to the hills, and the views were great. We could park our car within sight, and we felt very safe. The only recommendation I might have for improvement would be to repaint the outer doors, which were scuffed and showing some wear and fading due to the sun. The pool was clean and had an 8-foot deep section. They could easily make the pool area a bit splashier. It has the retro bones but they are fading.

Donna S.

Yelp
Truly unhappy to be told by the front desk the manager is the one having a private party in the pool area keeping all guests from being able to enjoy the pool and playing music super loud. Time for a refund.

Tamara T.

Yelp
Stayed here during Desert X and got that rate. I actually tried calling to cancel my reservation before 4 p.m. three times but no one picked up the phone. I ended up leaving an event to make it here for my reservation and called around 7 p.m. to let them know I would be in a little late and they said it was fine. Most hotels have front desk staff 24/7 so a late check-in isn't usually a big deal, but there was a sign at the front desk that stated if you arrived after 11 p.m. you wouldn't be able to check-in since the front desk is closed so keep that in mind if you're running behind. I've stayed at Quality Inn not too far from here and this was a step above there. The room's were painted and looked decent, bedding was decent, bathroom was small and the vanity area was a good size. I took one star off because the front desk staff weren't friendly or welcoming and didn't look me in the eye or greet me with a smile. I checked out a day early and noticed they had some Desert X booklets at the front desk and asked the clerk if they knew more info. about the exhibits and they didn't. I've worked in hotels in the past and we usually had an idea of local events, best routes to get there, etc, but the girls here were limited in their knowledge and were apathetic. Great location for the price with plenty of parking, but the front desk staff could be a little nicer.

Yelp
A Decent Inexpensive Stay In Palm Springs SITREP Considering the options, the Vagabond Inn was close enough to the Palm Springs I had going on this weekend and for the price, I could not complain. THE SETUP - FIRST THINGS FIRST: THE BUMMERS The rating could have been higher if it wasn't for the fact that on the site's webpage tool I reserved a non-smoking room and I CLEARLY got a smoking room. There was no opportunity to switch because it was packed. Some times you are forced to make due - ce la vie. I am also always bummed out by the lack of ice machines at large facilities. I like to DRINK. And I mean keep fully hydrated with cool beverages whether that be Pepsi, Jack & Pepsi or just Jack. There was only one ice machine and that was located in the pool area. What's unfortunate, you could clearly see the alcoves on each floor - each still with their plumbing hookups - but no ice machines. The TV remote was on the fritz. I called down to have someone check it out (new battery?), but after being ignore, and it NOT being a primary consideration for my stay (sleep was), I didn't bother with it afterwards. I found the on button at the bottom of the TV frame and just used that, along with the channel changer that was next to it. The fridges are so dam small and never allow you to keep drinks standing up or secure (since there is not sidebar to prevent drinks from falling out all over the place), but again, liveable under the circumstances. WHAT WORKED * I was paying almost 25%-30% less than the price of what other friends were paying in other nearby hotels, so you learn to deal with the inconveniences, especially when you will not be spending much time in the room anyways. * This location was only 1-2 miles away from most of the 6-7 destinations I would be spending time at this extended 3-Day weekend. * I put on the "Do Not Disturb" sign and surprisingly, no one both bothered me from the hotel crew. * FREE & AMPLE PARKING - this can't be overstated. Never a problem to find a spot, let alone right next to my room. * Other than the smoke-smell, my room was clean, well stocked with supplies for the bathroom, etc. * Roomy closet space, with plenty of integrated hangars into the closet system. * Bed was comfy with PLENTY OF PILLOWS. THE LOWDOWN For the things that mattered most ot me, the room-stay metrics were sufficient.

Yelp
This place is actually quite disgusting. I have found no fewer than 12 pubic hairs in my room. Two of them were next to the coffee maker. The pictures online looked absolutely amazing and the brand new in the pool area was really why I booked the room. We got the whole family together and passed on doing any other activities while we're in Palm Springs so we can hang out poolside. We get to the pool and spa is broken. It's actually colder than the pool itself. When I called to talk to the front desk, they just tell me, "oh it's broken". Would have been nice to know before booking. What you see online is NOT what you get. Spend your money somewhere else.

Yelp
This is a mixed review. We stayed Fri - Sun. 09/20 to 09/22. The internet WIFI worked amazing. There is no limit to how many devices (like some other hotels). 5 stars. The HVAC worked very well. 5 stars. We were here for the Yelp Elite Palms Springs getaway weekend. Most other places were booked solid, so I booked here. - The non-refundable room rate was cheaper than Expedia.com so chose that I got here very early 9am or so. The front desk gals said I couldn't do any FREE early check in till 10am. - Seems bizarre, other hotels if they have rooms ready just let you do early check in no matter what the time - All the 1st floor rooms were still being prepared - So we got a 2nd floor room, next to the stairs, close to parking and the pool The room felt tight/small, but after a day or so it became more comfy and size didn't seem to matter. - The beds were very firm (5 stars) with brand new high quality cotton linens - The room was clean - Came with 2 queen beds, 1 side chair, a bench, a drawer/counter area below TV, flat panel TV, a microwave & half fridge (5 stars for that) - The room was pretty clean and overall had just gotten some recent upgrades like the bed, painted accent wall, etc. - Some of the other furniture was older - The desk chair was so UNcomfortable, the seat pan curves up so when you sit to do work, it's painful (turns your butt and thighs inward) - FLAT SEAT PANS next time pls! - The closet is open, and across from the sink and vanity area (good design) b/c it allows you access to those areas, while someone is using the bath room The TOILET: We had flushing problems the whole stay. We had to call maintenance 2x. The thing flushed properly about 5x and then for about 1-2 hrs the water would run and you couldn't flush. Then it came back to working status again. It was not great to have to think about planning our bathroom routine at other hotels, venues, etc. - The night clerks guys did give us a customer service credit which helped out alot - But the toilets and plumbing overall needs to be updated - We were told we had one of the older toilet models The SHOWER/Water Pressure: This was the worst weakest water pressure ever. - IT was indeed a light trickle - Took forever to wash up - Not sure if it's a plumbing problem or water conservation trigger in effect - Terrible The CONTINENTAL Breakfast: It is in the cafe in the pool area. It was better than expected. 4 stars. - I had the waffles, boiled eggs (mass produced in big bags, but still good for AM Protein), toasts w butter, crm cheese, and jam - The coffee, OJ were great - I didn't try the oatmeal, cereal or pastries - Alot of Europeans were staying here, and they seemed to enjoy the other items The NOISE level was quiet. Very good in fact for being right above the pool area. - It was alot quieter than other hotels We did get warned by the front desk during check in there are little mini dragon fly looking black bugs, completely harmless. So if you don't want them to enter your room, at night lay a towel below the door. - I think if they weather strip it, the problem would be resolved easily The night crew guys were super helpful. Esp. the young man. The AM front desk gals, hmmmm. Not super helpful or customer focused. For the overall all net price, it turned out to be a good value. Their continental breakfast really got you off to a good start, a good day. Parking is plentiful. Some people were in the pool as early as 8am. 7am per the front desk guy. I would stay here again. It felt safe, family style atmosphere. Good quiet chill vibe.

Yelp
Stayed here 2 weeks ago. Front desk staff is rude and condescending -- the pool was closed and of course they didn't tell you before booking because why else do you go to palm springs during summer... for the pool. There were multiple other people that w shared the same disappointment when making their reservation. I had to reach out to the manager 3 times before getting 15% off. Trash employees trash company.

Chris C.

Yelp
ROACHES in my bed, bathroom and I'm sure in hidden spots! walked in and walked right out Glad they refunded me

Randa T.

Yelp
Early check in fee before 4:00 even if rooms are available. Old hotel that they've tried to update with a new chandelier and paint. However the carpet is dirty and ancient, no rr fan, the tub is slippery and rusty and has very little water pressure. The room is tiny. Hard pillows. The elevator is small and the buttons are old and dirty. The air conditioning worked well. No breakfast but k cup coffee pot in room.

A O.

Yelp
Stayed for the weekend , price was $293 for 2 nights. The location is close to Palms Springs downtown area 5 minutes drive. Convenient location for a weekend trip. Hotel is clean had enough space for a couple stay.

D. B.

Yelp
We were pleasantly surprised. We had just stayed at a dump of a "boutique hotel" around the corner and needed to stay one more night. The Vagabond was half the price and twice a nice. Will definitely stay here again Thanks !!!

Claudia A.

Yelp
Cons: 1) Any room you stay in, it will be noisy as people in the pool scream all the time (till 9 PM). Cops came twice to vacate people from the pool in the night. 2) No room service. Even if you stay for 3 days, they will not come for room service. You have to call the front desk 3 or 4 times. 3) Expensive for this kind of place 4) Fridge and AC were too old. It takes forever to cool.

Yummy I.

Yelp
We were in Palm Springs for just two nights and wanted something budget friendly. My criteria were: pet-friendly, central location, has a pool, and under $150/night all told. Many pet-friendly places charge an extra $30-$50 a night for a dog. This was only $10 extra a night. Total per night with taxes, parking and wifi included: $118! I would definitely stay here again. Pros: - Great location near everything. - Easy parking near your room. - Pool is opened 7am - 11pm, towels provided, plenty of lounge chairs with misters (!!!) all along the perimeter. We brought Jake poolside for a bit with no issues. Very friendly people at the pool with a cool, chill vibe. - They had a little grassy area for dogs, a poop bag station, and plenty of trash cans throughout. - Room was surprisingly large with cute mid-century modern touches. Large sink/vanity area with hair dryer, iron, and ironing board. Nice mini fridge with a small freezer section. Microwave in room, coffee maker available upon request. Large dresser and desk area. Big flat screen TV (that we never turned on). There's a large floor to ceiling window in the room but the blackout curtains worked great (unlike another reviewer's). The room was pitch black at night, and with the warm Edison bulbs throughout, doesn't get very bright during the day unless you draw the curtain. Cons: - Thankfully we were not directly near it, but it can be loud if you have a room facing the pool. During the day there were loud, happy splashy kids. We had no issues with noise. - There is a cafe poolside, but it was closed due to Covid. - There is usually breakfast offered but it was also suspended. - The A/C could be colder, or maybe it just had a hard time keeping up with the 114°-118° days. I was never uncomfortable but my boyfriend wanted to feel chilly. - If you care, no bar, restaurant, or gift shop but many nearby.

Meagan I.

Yelp
First off you think a little outdated but they're remodeling! Working on it and you can see the progress! Our two queen bed room came with two kings. Nice. Very simple decoration and the room comes with a little desk and chair. What stands out is the microwave and mini fridge in the room. For the price I didn't expect the extra little things The reason we chose this place was the continental breakfast. It's actually really good! A full make your own waffle bar, cereal set up, hard boiled eggs, bagels, toast and packaged pastries. so much better than we expected (but read good things about). They're definitely trying here. It's worth it!

Ilse V.

Yelp
Seeing as this is one of the more budget options to stay in central Palm Springs, I didn't have (high) expectations and wasn't planning on writing a review, until today, two days after checking out. Here goes a summary of what happened: -We checked in on Saturday at 4pm. Female staff member wasn't particularly friendly; just there to do her job (which turns out, she couldn't). She gave us key cards for a room on the second floor. When opening the door, we noticed the room hadn't even been cleaned yet. -Went back down to the frontdesk with all our stuff to inform her. No real apology, just keys to a different room on the ground floor this time. -Walked over to that room. Neither key card worked. She saw from the frontdesk that we were struggling so she came over with her master key card and opened our door. I asked if she would bring us new cards. She said "Your cards should work now". How?! You never programed them.. She eventually brought us new cards because I insisted after showing her the cards still didn't work. -Room itself was pretty and mostly renovated. Although the curtains do not blackout the light or cover the size of the entire window. So be prepared to have light in your room all night. -Although they still advertize free breakfast, they don't offer it "because of covid". But the pool area was open and packed with people. -Now two days later I notice an $8 charge on my card so I call the hotel. Without even asking when I stayed or my name, she said "Oh that's for the water bottles you used in the room". I informed her we had brought our own water and hadn't touched their overpriced Fiji water. They were left in the exact same spot they were in when we first entered the room. Only then did she ask when I stayed and said they would reverse the charge... So please please please check your credit card after checking out a few days later because it seems like they are trying to falsely charge you for the water in the room. Also, I never received any apology for the false charge. Abysmal customer service.

Ted B.

Yelp
Decent hotel for the price. It's in a decent location. Has a decent pool and jacuzzi. The room was fairly modern, and had a fridge. Bed was comfortable. Nice views of the mountains. The staff were nice. Everything was pretty good. I would stay here again.

Niki S.

Yelp
Everything is perfect except the heater was not working! I was watching ""Naked and Afraid" on Discovery Channel and felt like I am in the wild trying to make through the cold night. Check in was pleasant, the lady was friendly and helpful, I couldn't find my DL and was panic for seconds but she was totally cool and understandable. Check in was fast, hotel layout is simple and they give you a printed map circled with your room so no one should have problem finding the stairs/parking/room. Room is in decent size, a bit dated decoration but clean. It also comes with fridge and microwave. Water is hot, bed and pillows are quite comfy. King sized bed is huge enough for 3 people. Wifi is just ok, no password needed. They have free continental breakfast but I never got up early enough for it. However, my only problem is the heating system, it was one incredible cold weekend in early May in Palm Spring. I couldn't feel any hot air coming out the vent. It was about 60 degrees outside at night and indoor feels like low 70s. My survival skill made me cover myself under my down parka and I made it to the morning with my feet were still cold. I think the AC might not work well when it's 100 degrees in Palm Spring either. For this reason I would NOT recommend this hotel.

Isolina B.

Yelp
This is to update my previous review where I said the hotel charged $24 extra to "upgrade our room to the ground floor" when they told us that our room was on the 3rd floor but the elevator wasn't working. The hotel refunded the extra fee. So the only extra charge was the $10 for early check in. The rest is all true.

Yelp
Horrible place to stay- the photos online looked pretty nice for the money, but when I got there, the room was so dingy, in desperate need of updating- the faucets were plastic and stained and cracked in the shower, while the finish on the sink faucet was nearly completely worn off. The carpet was disgusting. I hated not being able to cancel after seeing the room (because I had paid online) and go somewhere clean.

Yelp
After a long drive from Tempe and 2 horrid hotels in Arizona. We were hoping for a decent motel in Palm Springs. Vagabond Inn is not much to look at from street level and compared to the other colourful hotels in the area, this one was your standard motor hotel. We checked in in a freshly designed reception and the polite and friendly desk clerk provided us with rooms eventhough we were an hour early for check-in. We were booked into 2 side-by-side rooms on the 2nd floor and luckily there was an elevator so we didn't have to lug our heavy suitcases up the stairs. Our rooms were nicely furnished with super comfortable seemingly new mattresses. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Our only problem was that our rooms were right in front of the stairs and it could get busy and noisy when the other guests were using them. Thankfully the noise subsided by 11pm. The breakfast the next day was continental and served in a room by the pool. Lots of tables were provided by the pool. We were pleasantly surprised with this motel in Palm Springs. I would definitely come back.

Yelp
Plusses; We had a nicely renovated room that felt like it belonged in a hotel a notch above Vagabond. The hot tub and pool were open, which was a big reason we decide to stay here. They had "hardwood" floors instead of a rug, which I liked because I was able to walk around without shoes without thinking about all the germs in a rug. Cons: The heat can't be turned down below 64, so it was a bit too warm for us. The hotel used to offer free breakfast, but because of the pandemic, they stopped it, understandably, but it would have been nice if they had offered a breakfast bag or a voucher for the Starbucks up the street, especially since they don't have coffee makers in the room.

Yelp
Have stayed here many times never an issue. We will not comeback. The pool water is dirty, there's so many large inflatable toys you can't avoid them. People smoking weed with kids all around, no towels at the pool, ice machine broken. Bathroom light fixture leaking water, yes water leaking onto us as try to use the toilet. And people stomping upstairs all hours day and night

Yelp
This place is pretty gross but I guess you get what you pay for. Pros: Low price point Has a pool Cons: Dirty place: My bed sheet had stains on it Multiple little bugs all over the room including the bed. The carpet in the room has lots of stains, gross. Overall gross room Front desk was not very pleasant

Yelp
NEVER STAY HERE! The most disgusting place I've ever slept. Killed bugs multiple time, but more kept popping up. Also, the front desk lady was super rude. If I thought this place even cared a little, I would complain or ask for my money back. NEVER STAY HERE. It's fascinating to me that places like this still exist when apps like Yelp exist. Not having bugs in the room is a basic sanitary issue, and yet hotels like this shithole still exist. Drives me crazy.

Yelp
If I could give this place 0 stars I would! We checked into our room Friday night, woke up early and headed out for a day on the town. We arrived back at the hotel( motel) later that night to shower and get ready for bed. After shower we began seeing some sort of flying bug on the walls, floor and bed. We killed and few then we began to see more and more so we packed our things and went to tell the front desk. We began explaining the situation to the woman at the front desk and she told us she couldn't do much besides giving us a different room. We didn't feel comfortable moving to a different room bc there would most likely be bugs in the next room. We asked for a refund and she told us she couldn't because her manager wasn't there. We asked the woman if she could call her manager and she told us that we could give her a call Sunday morning so she handed us a business card and told us that was her managers number but in fact it was just the number to the hotel. She finally called her manager on the phone and the manager began to insult us stating that we were in the room all day with the bugs and we decided not to say anything which wasn't true. I showed the woman at the front desk a picture of the bugs and she lies and tells her manager " oh their just like flies or gnats". I asked the front desk lady if she would sleep in the bed with those bugs and she just looked at me. The manager said she lives there and she has bugs in her room all the time, with that being said if you're the manager shouldn't you do something about the bug infestation? All in all they didn't want to give us a refund when it wasn't our fault that we had to check out early. Who wants to sleep with bugs?!!! VERY RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL AND DISGUSTING!!!! DONT WAIST YOUR TIME OR MONEY.

Yelp
We booked this room for a 2 night stay March 1st and 2nd. with my husband and another couple. Pros - Clean, friendly, great location, great night sleep. Cons - water pressure was horrible for showering, bad enough that I will not book this place again. Also while washing my face the water was so hot and I couldn't adjust it nor could my husband and my friends said the same thing happened to them . My friends posted the sign on the door saying "do not disturb " and housekeeping came in anyway. Sometimes you just don't want people going in your room and that should be respected. All in all probably a 2-1/2 star , if water was good I'd probably give it 3-1/2-4 stars as I really wanted to like this place

Yelp
The ONLY reason I am giving 2 stars rather than 5 is that the ice machine is still inoperable. I stayed at the Vagabond in November 2021 and the ice machine was broken and no room service if more than one night. Fast forward 5 months to April 2022 and the ice machine is still broken and no room service if more than one night. One can obtain a small bucket of ice at the front desk if it's open. Other hotels are offering room service every 3 days for guests staying longer than 1 night. Every 3 days is perfect. Coachella Festival was in town during April 2022 which brought the cost of a Vagabond room to $649.00 a night. At that price the Vagabond can afford to not only replace the broken ice machine but also add one to each floor. The Vagabond is a great place to stay but no hotel is worth even $50 bucks a night if it doesn't have an ice machine available at all times.

Yelp
Good location. Beds were comfy and clean. There were some contemporary accents/furnishings and the view of the hills from the pool are awe inspiring. but....the anticeptic/caustic smell of cleanser (airfreshener?!?) in the lobby left me concerned for the health of the staff. Ick. The pool and jacuzzi had clean looking water but jacuzzi was not heated (broken?) and the patio and furniture were dingy. The faucet and shower fixtures were pretty tired and dingy too. Would not take much to bring the 2 1/2 stars to 31/3. But I would not recommend in the meantime. Sorry!

Yelp
Checked in last July 5th and was pleasantly surprised with the clean breakfast area. Lorena who maintains the breakfast area does a good job! Would recommend this place for a quick, affordable place to stay plus they have fast wi-fi!

Yelp
This is not the first time we have had problems here, so I definitely wanted to leave a review and we won't stay here again. The a/c didn't work in our room and they were sold out so they couldn't move us...AND they wouldn't refund our money. They gave us 15% off I will say that the people at the front desk were kind and tried to help as much as they could. Not a good idea to stay here.

Yelp
Stayed last weekend at this hotel for 2 nights and it was not clean at all. My mother in law, Mari reserved 2 rooms, one for my husband and I and his brother. My brother in law had dirty towels in his room. Our room was just dirty. My mother in law called and said our room was dirty and to told them the light switches were dirty. They went in and didn't clean them as you can see and just folded our dirty towels. Both my husband and I left with several bug bites. I will never been staying here and will tell anyone I know not to stay here either.

Yelp
I had booked on Hotels.com moments before driving to the hotel because they had a better deal than just walking in. Problem was that hotels.com defaulted to the next day and with zero changes. The hotel worked with me and Hotels.com to assist me with the change and also gave me the cheaper weekday rate I got (Friday's are always attached to weekends so not sure I bought that statement.) in the end it worked out thanks to the clerk at the front desk, she was great. The room was big and mostly clean (paint spots on carpet), bed was comfy, pillows a good size, hotel was quite and overall great. The only thing to complain about was that the AC was not working and very hot and when we tried the heater (hoping it was mis-wired), it was even hotter. We opened the window to counter the stagnant room without use of the fan.

Yelp
This hotel was clean and close to the casino and restaurants. The mattress, pillows, bedding and sheets were top notch and gave a great nights sleep. Quiet, private hotel--I'd stay here again.

Yelp
The room itself was nice with hardwood floors and I was able to stay with my dog. The location is great for walking to downtown or walking in the nearby neighborhoods. Unfortunately the bathtub drain was clogged so I couldn't take a shower. I would stay here again but they charged me $8 for water I NEVER used and have done this to other customers before. Make sure you check your card right after because they will try to get away with scamming you. Take pictures of the room, specifically of the waters to prove you didn't use them because they will insist you used their overpriced waters when you didn't touch them. Ok hotel but scammers run this place.

Yelp
I have to say, this hotel is probably more of a 3.5 for me. The place is a little more south of town so if you want to be right at hub of downtown you probably want something more central. For us, it worked out great. It's not far, I actually walked down to the hub which is about 1.7miles to the Starbucks/Kimpton in middle of town. Our rooms were clean with 2 queen beds. The beds were new with great crisp bedding as well. Nice tv but the battery may need to be replaced. There is a frig, microwave, and work desk. For the price, it's pretty good. Our room though had a older toilet we were told since it didn't always flush correctly. The shower also had very week water pressure. It took me forever to shower since I have think hair and I couldn't get enough water. These were the 2 downside of the place. The continental breakfast in the morning was not bad either. Coffee was pretty good with seasonal pumpkin creamer, nice touch. 2 waffle makers, bagels, toast, cereals, muffins, apples, and hard boiled eggs. Not a bad deal at all. There was also OJ and cranberry juice. The welcome desk lady also not as friendly as you would expect. The 1 lady just stood there w/her face in the computer. The other girl was on the phone trying to figure out a payment or something so i had to wait. Umm... ok. I'm an actual customer standing right here. Oh well. The 2 guys at night though were very friendky & helpful. I would stay here again. :)
