Somehow the internet knows how to do it's thing because the same day I got ads on Vaka Burger, so did my friend. He suggested we go check it out ASAP. We live in the neighborhood.
I enjoyed my meal. The one I ordered reminded me of a classic burger, reminiscent of Habit. They named it accordingly, it's called the OG . Fries come separate. I liked how the guy at the register took the time to explain the menu and the specials.
Food came out fairly fast, but they weren't super busy. We arrived at 6:45 and didn't realize on Wed-Thurs, they close at 7:30pm.
My friend said, " This tastes like a 'we just opened' burger." Maybe that helps you to set expectations. For me though, the patty was seasoned well and not overcooked--. I liked their homemade Russian dressing. The melty cheddar cheese gave a nice bite. At first I complained the fries weren't crunchy enough, but I ate them all and the portion was quite big.
I would try Vaka Burger again. I do feel like it is a little pricey, but what isn't these days. Keep in mind, the size of the OG is about the same as a Habit burger, but with a price tag of $11. Add fries, tip, and tax, you're at $20.
