"Though Valentino’s Ristorante relocated from West End to Hayes Street several years ago, it didn’t affect the charming atmosphere or traditional Italian fare that this Midtown classic has honed over 25 years. Bucatini, cioppino, and lasagna with osso bucco over saffron risotto — these are all perfect accompaniments to the live music that frequently serenades diners here." - Ellen Fort, Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

"In 2019, Valentino’s made a smart move. After nearly 30 years on West End, the old-school Italian eatery relocated two blocks northeast to Hayes Street, and the new space makes all the difference. The five-seat bar is the heart of the restaurant, with a small but solid cocktail list, classic bar snacks like crispy calamari and a single TV for catching games. Sadly veteran bartender Geri, the finest Irish gal you’ll ever meet, will retire at the end 2019, but not to fear — the average tenure of a Valentino’s employee is 20 years, so whoever takes her reins will take good care of you." - Ashley Brantley

This is such a wonderful place for a romantic date night. The ambiance is perfect. You aren’t crowded next to other tables and can have a private conversation. Service is stellar. I was a bit disappointed in the wine list. Perhaps I’m spoiled having spent a lot of time in Italy lately, but I was surprised they didn’t have more Italian wine options. The Pinot noir I chose was quite good, though. My husband loved the Caesar salad; I found the dressing a bit pungent and strong. Personal taste, perhaps, although the ingredients were certainly top quality. The lobster ravioli was phenomenal, especially the sauce. I was so glad I took the waiter’s recommendation. Again, the cheesecake wasn’t my favorite style of cheesecake, but it was pretty good. The bread was also good. All in all I would certainly return next time I’m in town and try some other things on the menu. I highly recommended it to my daughter for future date nights.

Mama Mia! We had one of the best Italian meals tonight at Valentino’s Ristorante in Nashville. The service was excellent, and the food was magnificent! Very nice wine selection too. We’ll definitely be going back again. 😋

Google
We came here at the recommendation of our neighbor, AC guy. The atmosphere is quaint inside of a victorian style home. Plenty of outdoor seating as well and parking. Or waiter who has been working there 30 years was very helpful with his recommendations. The wine choices were outstanding. The food was outstanding and plenty full. This is our new favorite Italian restaurant in Nashville. We highly recommend checking out Valentino‘s.

Google
Valentino's was a recommendation from our hotel manager here at Union station. Thinking about Italian food and Tennessee almost sounds like an oxymoron, but this place knocked it out of the park. Food was awesome, rice balls were perfect, the calamari melted in your mouth, and the lasagna and veal was stellar. Grant was an amazing waiter, he made us feel well taken care of and welcome. I travel a lot and unfortunately eat out often, and i'd venture to say grant gave me the best service at a restaurant I've ever had. Thank you again for taking care of us and giving us the best restaurant experience we've had in Tennessee this trip.

Google
Best Italian food I have had in Nashville! Lyman was my server. He was fantastic. He greeted me at the front door, got me seated, and took very good care of me. I was a solo diner and had an exceptional experience. I can't wait to go back.

Google
Classic old school Italian restaurant. Excellent service, great bar tender making strong drinks. Table side Caesar salad a must! Arancini was delicious. Lobster ravioli was very cream and nice. An awesome veal parmigiana! Gigi Toscano was great with spicy sauce. Banana’s foster another classic done table side, another show. Reasonable wine selection. Complimentary valet parking. Who knew… dinner and a show! We will definitely go back. It is expensive but definitely worth it. Nothing disappointed. Large portions, packed lots to go.

Google
Valentino’s Ristorante was recommended to us by one of our Uber drivers. My friends and I were seeking an authentic Italian restaurant. Located within an old house, the atmosphere was perfect..like being in Italy. Our waiter was wonderful.. We loved watching him make our Caesar salad right beside our table. The lobster ravioli was delicious..We were so full that we couldn’t eat dessert.. but we did order a tiramisu to take home with us. It was incredible as well. Whenever you find yourself in Nashville, give Valentino’s a try 😋 📸

Google
Intimate dining experience for myself and a work colleague while visiting Nashville. The distinct rooms offer something different in each space. The enclosed outdoor patio area is very spacious for groups/individuals and provides heat during winter nights. The space is dimly lit, so it makes for a great romantic ambiance. We had a party of two for dinner however we did not make reservations. One of our work colleagues recommended the restaurant the day prior. Grant was a superb and attentive host and graciously seated us inside. (Dinner reservations strongly encouraged). I ordered the Garganelli and my colleague ordered the Frutti do Marre paired with a merlot. The food was okay, somewhat bland. I requested a generous helping of parmesan cheese. We shared a tiramisu which was very delightful. Overall, nice dining experience.

Yelp
Great food and service. Absolutely beautiful restaurant. Food was perfect and the experience was to die for. Just know you do have to pay a bit more for that reason, but it is worth every penny.

Seth B.

Yelp
The absolutely best veal parmigiana. The vibe is old school Italian and the staff were excellent

Rachel G.

Yelp
We love Valentino's. Every experience here is cozy, intimate, and delicious. Service is always wonderful. You feel like a part of a big Italian family. We ordered a ton of food and truly everything was to die for. I particularly love the caesar salad made table-side! They even brought out a complimentary tiramisu for our celebration. We will continue coming back!

Damauria V.

Yelp
My favorite italian place in Nashville! The restaurant is always so welcoming. Food is amazing. I always get the Garganelli and Calamari, super yummy! Probably the best calamari I've ever had. I would also advise to make a reservation!

Donna H.

Yelp
The attention to detail is everything. We are quickly greeted and seated I. A front room. The atmosphere was quiet yet inviting. I had an old fashion and ordered the ravioli. The food is amazing. I was on a date, so didn't take pictures, but trust me that it was all wonderfully appetizing. Highly recommend.

Chris M.

Yelp
Incredible service from the moment we walked in to when we left. The portion/price value is on point.

Jessica L.

Yelp
We came here for New Year's Eve dinner on a whim and had a nice cozy time. Right off the bat, the ambiance is fantastic -- it seems to be an old house with an intimate feel because there are just a handful of tables in each room. It also has a nice upscale feel without being way overpriced or stuffy, which I like. We had great attentive service from Graham, who happily provided suggestions, didn't pressure us on time or upsells, and just overall took great care of us. We started with the burrata caprese (and the house bread, because we were starving). Even for winter tomatoes, this dish was excellent and the bread was warm and soft and went nicely with the olive oil. I had the chicken parm and husb had the lasagna, both of which were tasty. And we finished with cheesecake and tiramisu. Big portions, so we wound up taking some of everything but the appetizer home, but we'll be enjoying it again soon. Overall, it's a great date night location because of the intimate vibe and doesn't have overwhelming music like some restaurants (so would also be great to bring parents). They have complimentary valet parking as well, which is another nice touch. Also nice wine list.

Rachael Z.

Yelp
Wow... wow wow wow. What an incredible spot for a dinner alone or with friends, clients, or customers. There were several rooms in the building for entertaining large parties of 6 to 12 people. I had a wonderful evening sitting in the bar area and enjoyed several courses here. The flourless moves at the end was the icing on the cake. It was absolutely delicious and the service was hands-down phenomenal. I really enjoyed the ambience of this restaurant and the peace it could bring after a long day. I really enjoyed a glass of wine with their salmon and the caprese salad.

Mick S.

Yelp
This place is a classic. Lots of new Italian food options in Nashville. Some are decent some are just okay. This place delivers every time. Reminds me of something you'd experience in NYC in Little Italy. Even the waiters have a little "attitude!" It's hard for me not to get the lobster ravioli. So good!

Mark F.

Yelp
Cute old home with intimate rooms and a tiny bar with seating for 4 and 3 additional high tops for 8-9 more. Very friendly at the door and the gentlemen who escorted me to the bar for my walk in party of one. The best seat to meet new people. And that's exactly what I did. Caesar salad with anchovies. Good size. Osobucco- was tender and delicious with a risotto slightly creamy, not wet. The only Italian on the Red BTG (by the glass) was a chianti which was meh on the mouth but great for the price at the most expensive by the glass $13. I moved to the Merlot though and was much happier. The bottle list is better but again lacking Italian wines. The offering does represent and good variety and you're sure to find something you like and fits the bill. Unless it's pink. Great for dates in a secluded corner or a large parting taking up the entire room. Service at the bar was spotty with. I dedicated bartender. The team was also serving other tables. Overall a good experience.

Yelp
It has been a tradition for many years to meet up with our close friends for special occasions and always the traditional Christmas gathering at V's. The atmosphere, exceptional service and fabulous menu always makes each visit wonderful. Andre (now a friend after all these years) greets us with a smile and laughter to ensure the visit is always memorable. Last night most of us had the Caesar salad and Lobster Ravioli and it was fantastic, as usual! Thank you V's for continuing to provide such a warm and wonderful venue for the special gatherings!

Leah D.

Yelp
Very tasty upscale Italian restaurant! We celebrated our anniversary here and really enjoyed our food! We shared a caprese salad and ordered two entrees each just to have lots to try! The chicken parmesan was very tasty and a huge portion, the gnocchi was very flavorful, the rack of lamb was tasty but a small portion, and the meat pasta was tasty too. We appreciated the gluten free options too.

Edith S.

Yelp
Italian charm in every way. Good old-fashioned customer service with personality! The chicken Parm and Osso Bucco are top notch!

Caroline B.

Yelp
What a charming restaurant! I was in town for a conference and our concierge recommended this place for a nice dinner. The outside is beautiful and the inside is warm and cozy. We shared the burrata and calamari to start and both were excellent. The basil aioli with the calamari was herbaceous and creamy - so delicious! I had the garganelli pasta and it was out of this world. The homemade pasta, the meaty sauce, and the generous dollop of crème fraiche were like a yummy warm hug. Good Italian is always a treasure and this place was perfect. Fantastic and welcoming service, the right mix of attentive and letting us enjoy our dinner.

Angela S.

Yelp
Our group had all kinds of great thing! Fresh homemade pasta, table side Caesar salads, spaghetti and meatballs, chicken parmigiana, chicken Marsala allll amazing!!!

Shann S.

Yelp
Such a great way to celebrate a friend's birthday in a charming, quaint house on Hayes St in downtown Nashville. The authentic Italian masterpieces set before us made our mouths water and the expert serving was phenomenal. We wanted for nothing and didn't even have to ask for anything since all our needs were anticipated and provided from the moment we sat at the table. One tip is that the parking is located BEHIND the building or on the street. There is a parking garage across the establishment with QR code access if that's your jam as well.

Dorothy W.

Yelp
Server was fantastic, a very professional gentleman..I wish I remembered his name! We sat outside as it was very nice weather; unfortunately they don't do the table side Caesar outside but we got it to share among 4 and it was very tasty. My lobster ravioli was delish and plenty for leftovers the next day, when it was still delish. Everyone loved their food. Bananas foster for dessert was tempting enough even though we don't normally do dessert..also not done tableside outside but very good and generous portion! Lovely find!

Kandace H.

Yelp
Best Italian restaurant in Nashville, hands down! From service to food to ambiance, the experience is superb. My server was Lyman, and he was incredible! Super nice, welcomed me as soon as I walked in the front door, seated me, and gave me the best service. The hospitality as a whole was 10/10. I will definitely be back. I love this place.

Tony D.

Yelp
We loved Valentinos. The food was excellent, the service was excellent. Our server, Grant, was helpful but unintrusive, which is what we liked. The ambiance was romantic and relatively quiet, though we had diners all around us. The place is not huge, so it's nice they accept reservations. It was our anniversary and they surprised us with a free dessert. That was so nice of them. Only minor annoyance is that you have to park on the street and street parking in Nashville is hit and miss. We were lucky that we went during the week. I can see parking being a problem on the weekend.

Abby W.

Yelp
After arriving late in town on a cross-country roadtrip and missing an original dinner reservation elsewhere, Valentino's was just what we needed. The manager held the kitchen open past their closing time by 20 minutes to get us a small dinner, which tasted amazing. The restaurant itself is adorable- very clean, well-decorated, and expertly lit. Our only wish was that we had been able to experience dining in! Highly recommend.

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
Everything at this restaurant was sensational. The ambiance, service and food is 5 star. If you want a flawless evening go there. Andre our waiter was extraordinary.

Lesa S.

Yelp
I have seriously never had a better dining experience. The food was absolutely amazing. The service extraordinary! Our party of 8 was very impressed. Bravo! We'll be back.

Rosemary B.

Yelp
Of course, Valentino's has moved from West End Avenue to Hayes Street and has the same superb attentive service. The atmosphere is intimate and romantic. However, the food is not quite the same. Maybe it was what I ordered, the Caesar salad with lobster ravioli that was just OK. But when the arguably best Nashville Italian restaurant was on West End., I never ordered a meal that was less than delicious. Sadly, at these prices - it wasn't worth it.

Linda S.

Yelp
Lovely ambience. Table side Cesar is top notch. Service excellence. A romantic setting. Perfect.

Sam K.

Yelp
I came here for dinner one night when I was visiting Nashville. It was only a 5 minute walk from where we were staying, so that was very convenient. My friend and I didn't have much of an appetite, so we just got the calamari and burrata to share. The food was absolutely delicious, so I'd love to come back and try one of their entrees. The waiter was also extremely friendly, and he kept stopping by the table to make conversation. Definitely recommend checking this place out.

Philip W.

Yelp
Went to Nashville for a work trip, had a team dinner here. It that was the first and last meal I ate in Nashville. My coworker and I ended up getting food poisoning from the chicken parm. And I wasn't able to eat anything the rest of the week. Service was good. But can't recommend this place given my experience.

Courtney L.

Yelp
I ate here for a special event so I'm not sure if the menu was different but I can say all the food was amazing! I had eggplant stuffed with ricotta I think), Caesar salad, and gnocchi. The eggplant was sliced thin and rolled around a plentiful amount of pillowy ricotta cheese and marinara. I'm not sure what vegetables were in the gnocchi but they were the perfect addition. The gnocchi itself was soft and they came around with fresh Parmesan to top it. If I could go back for that meal again right now I would! It is a bit pricey but delicious.

Yelp
We went to Valentino's for dinner because it was close by our hotel. We were pleasantly surprised by the cozy atmosphere and the attentive service. The food was excellent and the portions were generous. I ordered the halibut special and loved it. Not dry or boring. We will return if we have the chance.

Mandy K.

Yelp
Italian food snobs, Bring It! This is going to be your place. As Authentically Italian as a real Gucci bag. Valentino's moved here from their original space just up the road. It is more chic and intimate. But what hasn't changed is the downright delicious food served with an unmistakable Euro flare. Be sure to order the table side Caesar salad to start. And save room for the table side Bananas Foster at the end. Precious few restaurants offer such treats anymore! If you are visiting Nashville, break free from Broadway and sample this local gem. The seafood is succulent. The veal is tender. The marinara is robust. And the wine is flowing ;). Bring a date. Bring the family. Can't wait to return.

Donna A.

Yelp
Celebrated my daughter's birthday at Valentino's. It was a wonderful dinner. We started with a Caesar salad made table side for two. We enjoyed seeing our waiter make our salad at our table. It may not look good, but it was absolutely delicious (just a little salty). I ordered the lobster ravioli. It was good, but needed a little bit more flavor. It has roasted garlic, mushrooms, stuffed with mixed lobster, crab and corn, tarragon brandy cream. My daughter ordered the Garganelli which consist of beef and sausage Bolognese, over pasta, finished with crème fraiche. She said it was delicious. Dinner ended with a surprise complimentary slice of tiramisu. My daughter enjoyed every bite. Great dinner!!!

Daryl L.

Yelp
Best service, ambiance & lasagna ever. This Lasagna would make Tony Soprano and Garfield proud. So proud that they would give away 1000 boxes of ziti to all nashvilians so they could take a week off work for naps. Wife enjoyed everything about the place besides my corny jokes. Will come back.

Dennis B.

Yelp
Don't miss this place! Quaint, romantic and wonderful food! Our server, Andrei, was wonderful!

Victor S.

Yelp
Family met up here to celebrate our son's wedding. This was our first time here. The wait staff was very welcoming and friendly. Over the food was very good. My wife had the "Bucatini". It was superb. My oldest son had the "Osso Bucco" which was delicious. I had the "Chicken Parmesan" and it was good. My middle son had the "Gigli Toscano" and he but only raves about how delicious it was. Our friends were very happy with their meals as well.

Tashombe H.

Yelp
Great food. Great drinks. Great atmosphere. We (minus 1 innour party) arrived on time for an 8p reservation and were seated promptly. We had mussels marina and a salad for appetizers. Mussels were great. The sauce was seasoned well. The looked made to order. Two of us had lasagna which was highly recommended. The other had the special which was crab stuffed salmon. The lasagna portion was good. It was saucy and hot. The salmon was also very good. Will definitely return when I'm in the area again. Friendly service. Heated outdoor patio available.

John L.

Yelp
Very good food here at Valentino's Ristorante. Our chicken and Veal dishes were very good. My shrimp al forno was also very good. They brought warm great tasting bread to our table almost as soon as we sat down. We highly recommend this establishment if you are in the area.

Stuart O.

Yelp
Had an early dinner with my wife on a Friday night. This is a quaint little place in an older home with maybe a dozen tables - so low volume and great service. Old school Italian decor and wait staff. I had the garganelli and my wife had lobster ravioli. The garganelli was excellent but the ravioli seemed devoid of any lobster meat. Bread was awesome. Overall a good dining experience at a reasonable price. Nice place for a Romantic evening out.

Caroline D.

Yelp
Friendly staff! Perfect atmosphere. Frank SinatraVeal Marsala songs playing. Take me back to a kinder time. Don't miss this spot. The Calamari and pre dinner cocktails were mighty fine. The staff were so attentive. The meal portions are large, too much for a single person. You'll definitely have leftovers. The waiter Grant recommend a terrific Cab to go with my Veal Sambuca. Desert? I just don't know. I already have a large bag of leftovers. So done

Joselyn S.

Yelp
My husband and I were passing through Nashville and looked up this restaurant near our hotel. We didn't have a reservation and they were so accommodating. They had a table ready for us in minutes. The food was amazing! I love pasta and have never had anything that tasted that great! My husband was speechless with his ribeye steak. The restaurant was so beautiful had a nice romantic feel. If we are ever back in the area, we'll definitely be back to visit Valentino's.

Bobby M.

Yelp
This is our 2nd visit to Valentino's and the ambiance is the initial draw to this place. The dimmed lights, Andrea Bocelli playing in the background, and authentic Italian meals make it our now favorite Italian restaurant in town. The service is efficient and friendly. We started with warm, freshly baked bread then the Arancini for antipasto which was delicious! i got the Veal Parmesan over linguini which was tender and well-favored. Husband got the Garganelli which was so authentic with the fresh herbs that shone through. We topped it off with a tiramisu which we're taking to go because the portions were huge! Will certainly return for another date night!

Brenda C.

Yelp
Love love love this place. Felt like I was in my grandma house having dinner. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. I had the lasagne which was perfect , the serving sizing were huge, one entree could feed 2-3 people. Our waiter even went out of his way to ensure my entree was just as I requested.

Scott H.

Yelp
This was our first visit to Valentino's. Not sure how we missed it in the past, but it is now our favorite Italian restaurant in Nashville. My wife described her Lasagna as, "Probably the best I've ever had!" The Osso Bucco and Caesar salad exceeded my expectations. The Caesar salad at Valentino's is the best I have found in the area.

James T.

Yelp
What a Nashville classic. This is the best place to eat outside in Nashville. Never very crowded either. The service is fantastic here. They really care about you enjoying the evening. Drinks and pastas are the best things here. Didn't like the Cesar salad as it was a little too fishy for me (they use real sardines). Their Lasagna is the best I've ever had. Highly recommend. Much superior to Yolan. Yolan is trying to be high end French with Italian fare. Valentino's is everything right about Italian. Friendly waiter. People chatting and drinking. Charming service. Love this place.

Barb S.

Yelp
Everything was outstanding. Greeted and seated with a smile and humor. Service and food are top notch. Truly the best Italian in town. To have the owner personally attend to you is an experience worth waiting for. Great ambiance, reminds us of Italy. Extremely enjoyable.

Brandon R.

Yelp
Just amazing!! The waiter we had was GREAT!! Food was so good also!! Very authentic! We loved it. I got the Osso bucco and my wife got the lobster ravioli and we got the mussels and ceasar tableside. Everything was fantastic!

Lynn C.

Yelp
Excellent service, amazing food! The calamari was so flavorful, perfectly cooked. The house salad with a light balsamic , fresh greens, pickled carrots, shaved parm and toasted pistachios. The burrata caprese was so creamy with fresh delicious tomatoes. I had the Cioppino, the saffron broth was so flavorful and the seafood was fresh and delicious! One of the best tiramisu I've eveEverything was excellent.

John S.

Yelp
The best Veal Parmesan, I had it at many different restaurants but this place is the best so far. The waiter was very pleasant and helpful.

Mary K.

Yelp
Valentino's is an Italian dream! Lovely restaurant in a former home. Each room decorated with beautiful paintings and nice little touches. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable. Great atmosphere to enjoy splendid Italian food! My Veal Sambuca was outstanding. Every bite was delicious! Well balanced plate with Sautéed spinach and baby roasted potatoes! Yummy! The lasagna was flavored with rich tomato sauce and melted cheeses. Yes, go and enjoy a fabulous dinner at Valentino's!

W K.

Yelp
Best lasagna in Nashville. Really enjoyed the tableside Caesar as well. Waitstaff impeccable.

Marlo G.

Yelp
Lovely atmosphere, incredible service and the food was incredible! Also had one of the best espresso martinis of my life. I see is being regulars!
