Google
Cool spot selling Filipino desserts and pastries. We poked our heads in after having a meal in the plaza and were surprised there was no one inside, so we had our choice and all the nifty snacks inside. By the time we had grabbed a variety of items, the line of customers was out the door. Dang this place was super popular and we just lucked out on the time we entered apparently. The staff were super nice and filled us in on what was good and what we should try. The folks behind us in line were also super friendly and gave us some pointers especially pointing out the shrimp fritters and vinegar. We had a solid great time and gained a few pounds in the process. Score

Google
Lots of treats, but I'm mainly here for hot pandesal. So good

Im FALKS

Google
Every time I do groceries at SFC or IP I always stop in to buy a couple of chicken empanadas and eat them on the way home. This day was no different except they served me two empanadas that were meant to be thrown out. The shell was cracked open and made the filling dry and gritty. Sure businesses don't like to waste products but this was garbage. You need to draw the line. Next time I will check the bag in front of them and call them out if they pull this crap again. Don't ruin my drive home by serving me garbage. Be more respectful to your customers.

Mytao Westside

Google
Probably the second best Filipino delicacy pastry shop in Covina/ West Covina area. The selection is a bit smaller then I would like however they have a few gems. Customer service was great. Check out the photos for selection.

Google
They have some really good breads love their ensemada especial and the original.the cheese rolls and ube rolls are delicious. Don't forget to grab some Turon and karioka for the drive home!

Alexander Rafael

Google
They offer awesome Filipino bakes and pastries. Their Chicken Siopao is a must try, their Ube pan de sal and their regular pan de sals are perfect matches with your morning coffee! Great service and friendly staff too!

Nick Aispuro

Google
Good service, nice people. Unfortunately I ate a talon & lumpia and got severe food poison. I had to go to the emergency room.

Don Frasco

Google
Great selection of Filipino desserts. Staff are friendly. The bad part is they usually run out bread towards the end of the day.

Yelp
Stopped by just to see what they had and being too full, picked up a small dessert cup that had ube bits, rice balls, thai banana, and tapioca for $5.99. It was actually really sweet so a good way to offset that is I added steamed yams to it, which was a nice combo with the ube, and other tart fruit and this helped to prolong the dessert! There was also a rice colored version of the same dessert. Not sure if the other baked goods are really sweet but always worth a try when it's something new to discover!

Yelp
A little annoyed that I drove 35 minutes to find out they were out of the item I was coming for. Called twice before heading over, with no answer, so I took my chance. But what was really upsetting is that when I got here, I mentioned that I called twice before heading over, and they gave no regard. Literally said NOTHING in response. Because of that, I am leaving this review. Customer service is not it here.

Yelp
This continues to be my favorite Valerio's because of their Cheese Pimiento Bulilit ($5.99)! No other Valerio's makes it the same. Unfortunately, this shop is far from me so I don't visit often. I remember the days when it used to be $3 for a pack, but at $6, it is still worth it to me! To be honest, I can't speak to the other bakery items here as I only come here for the one item. I have read reviews of items that have gone bad or go bad quickly so I always inspect the package carefully. Even so, I understand that with many Filipino bake shops, moldy bread can be an issue so I buy knowing that I can get unlucky with a bad/old batch. Service here is always friendly in my experience! It's in a busy plaza and an old building, so don't expect it to be bright and pristine.

Yelp
Stopped by on Saturday, 10/21/23. This place is my family's go-to for all Filipino pastries. A LOT of assorted options to try out. This location is very popular and gets crowded inside. Extremely small area and hot. Prices have gone up over the years.

Yelp
I come here for hot fresh pandesal (Filipino bread baked fresh daily) in the morning. It's a tiny store and gets crowded when it gets busy. They also sell other baked goods. They specialize in Filipino breads. Everything is delicious! There are multiple locations. Come visit one near you.

Yelp
Always fresh baked goods here. Every time I come here I always wished I could get everything money can buy. I always calm myself down just to get 3 items at a time . The ube bread is my grandkids' favorite snack. I just purchased 2 bags , 1 for my grandkids to share snd 1 for me to share...

Yelp
3.5/5: Pan De Sal 2/5: Senorita bread 2/5: Customer service *Yes they take card* Overall, lack luster place to get Filipino goods. A little disappointed as back in the Bay Area Valerio's has higher standards for their quality of foods, freshness, sanitation, and friendliness. I was surprised their pan de sal wasn't as fresh as other locations of this chain (meaning constantly coming out and refilling hot/warm rolls, but I suppose that has more to do with supply and demand *or lack there of*). Furthermore, their siopao which in bold letters says "REFRIGERATION required", was out open in the shelves since this morning or longer. When I asked for siopao from the fridge in the back they told me to just get the one from the front... wasn't about to risk food poisoning because of their lack of understanding or care of how bacteria grows on dishes especially with meat when not properly stored. As for their senorita bread that was perhaps the biggest disappointment of all. It was not hot or fresh and was sub par for something so simple. At almost every other Valerio's location it's constantly flying off the shelves and people come to buy it in huge batches, whereas this location was extremely limited and did not offer it as fresh at all. Lastly, their customer service was poor as I tried to tell her the order and she proceeded to engage in conversation with her coworker and had to ask me to repeat multiple times. Overall, this wasn't a bakery or experience for me. The hunt for a good Filipino bakery continues.

Yelp
Very small bakery and there seemed to only be one worker handling everything when we got there, but great pastries! The bakery is filled to the top with Filipino baked goods, pastries, and desserts. Breads, buns, and even empanadas are available. Lots and lots of variety. There are some bagged pastries that are ready to take to go but there are also fresh baked goods that are behind the glass. We got the fresher pineapple flowers. Imagine cinnamon rolls but less scathingly sweet and filled with the pineapple bread dried icing. Good good stuff. Gonna get some more sweets from here one day !
google avatar

Yelp
Great little local filipino pastry shop! Stop by and get yourself a few things to try. Reasonably priced and freshly baked in the back.

Yelp
My wife bought some desserts for the New Year's party going on right this second and when we opened one of them up everything was molded, this is really disgusting and they should check their food before selling, who knows how old This thing is, I don't even want to eat any of The other deserts we bought, would NOT recommend!

Yelp
if you're looking for authentic filipino pastries this is your spot! This place has been here forever mom/pop shop! It's literally a hole in the wall place in the always busy Seafood city plaza for all things pinoy. During covid they are limiting 4 customers at a time inside the store with face masks required to enter! They have all sorts of fresh pastry and breads freshly baked daily. The MUST get items include the cheese rolls, turon, and variety of ensaymada. They do sell out often especially for the cheese rolls and popular ube flower ensaymada so come earlier! If you've never had a cheese roll its like Porto's Cheeese roll but more asian style without all the super sweetness. The texture is like a crispy croissant filled with cheese. The turon are fried egg roll skin wrapped plantain and jackfruit with a crispy caramel glaze. These things are so addictive but MUST be eaten fresh for best crispness. Ensaymada they have all types from savory to sweet. My favs are the pineapple or ube stuffed ones. The selection does change daily so check back often. The prices are all super reasonable with items ranging from $1-6 for entire boxes of bread. The auntie staff are all super friendly even with those unfamiliar with pinoy pastries. Ask them what's inside or what do you recommend and they'll explain it to you.

Yelp
COVID-19: Social distancing is enforced at this establishment. All of the staff wears a mask. All customers are expected to wear a mask too. The staff also wears gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs only with limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was grabbing my baked goods from this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour (duh! It's a bakery lol). They also do not allow pets in their establishment. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is pretty big since they share the lot with several other establishments like Seafood City. Food: I ordered white pan de sol. My parents are a big fan of their dinner rolls because they are so buttery and fluffy. Perfect for the fam bam to enjoy. Staff: The staff here are very nice, friendly, and welcoming. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is a $10 credit card minimum.

Yelp
Best pan de sal! We love their pan de sal! We've been going here for a while and it's always fresh

Yelp
Bought ube bread so good plus bought chicken epmandas that were really big size and good.

Yelp
Always a staple! Love Valerios at any location! Always has fresh bread and filipino goodies. Try to get hot pandesal if you can time it right.

Yelp
It's time for an updated review! If you're looking for traditional Filipino baked goods, this is your spot! They've got all the things that I've grown up with, including pan de sal, pan de leche, turon, ensaymada - you name it! Prices are extremely affordable and if you're there early, you might be able to catch some fresh out of the oven goodies! With ube being a food trend in 2020, you definitely gotta give this place a try! I recently got some of their ube cheese pan de sal and they were just perfect. The bread was moist and overall, it was a nice savory treat! Pro-tip: freeze the bag if you plan on eating these slowly! You can toss them in the air fryer at 400 degrees for 2 mins, and they come out perfectly!

Yelp
I personally had the ube cookie crumble and mango cake dessert. They were both amazing and I'll be coming back for both in the future. They also had a bunch of different pastries that look delicious and can't wait to try when I come back. I'll be coming back with my friends and family for sure! The shop also had great friendly service and gave me a very homey vibe. I believe it is a mom and pop shop, so even better! They also had a wide variety of authentic Filipino pastries to choose from. I would definitely recommend this spot to everyone to come try this spot!
google avatar

Ashley D.

Yelp
Pan De Sal always hits! It gets a little bit crowded so I would suggest going a little bit early. Also make sure that you ask for the fresh pan de sal!

Kareem E.

Yelp
My favorite Filipino bakery! Reasonably priced in the area and the dinner rolls are so good! A family friend gave us the recommendation so we tried ube crinkles, the ube brownies, and the Turon. So worth the drive. Very delicious!

Yelp
My son and I stopped by Valerio's while we were walking around this shopping plaza waiting for my food to be ready from Tony's BBQ in the same plaza. We couldn't even tell it was opened, except for the signage outside the door. It's kind of a hole in the wall, so I guess you have to be a local to know about it. I decided that we would buy some Filipino baked goods to try. Since we are not Filipino, I had no idea what anything was (and I didn't bother checking Yelp for a review or suggestions before I went in), and I felt so naive asking the employee what was in this and what was in that. But she was nice to try and explain the ingredients. I ended up buying Pande Ube Bulilit, Cheese Rolls, pineapple flower, these fried balls of rice cake and coconut on a stick and covered in syrup, and ube pastillas. My first impression: man these are SWEEEET! Like really sweet! Decadent sweet. Have with coffee or tea sweet. Definitely something you should be enjoying occasionally and not daily. My favorites were the fried rice cake balls and the pande ube bulilit. The ube pastillas were my least favorite because they were just way too sweet. The cheese rolls and pineapple flower were just ok. I checked Yelp after I got home and it seems everyone is raving about the pan de sal, so that will be my purchase on my next visit! Some yelpers said the cheese rolls were like Porto's but to me they are nothing like it. The cheese rolls I bought are a bread filled with cream cheese (maybe?), and covered in a sugar paste. Overall I think this is a great bakery with tons of variety. It seems more authentic than the Red Ribbon we went in before Valerio's.

Rosalyn S.

Yelp
Some advice: check with the people that work there to see if this is fresh before you buy it. Date says it's good until 11/24 and today is 11/22 but it's super hard

Yelp
We bought some Pinoy Tamales few days ago & we're very disappointed!! As soon as I opened its banana wrap, foul smell came out & it looks old/expired. It's spongy which is not the usual consistency of tamales that I know. I did not see a production date & expiration date on the packaging w/c is a red flag!! I do not think this store has "quality control" based also from the other 1 star reviews I have read. What a waste of money, each tamales is worth $4.39!! I will never buy from this branch again!!

Jessy C.

Yelp
Disrespectful customer service, especially towards the lady who rang me up my order earlier this afternoon. She snatch my money out of my hands and made my money fall to the ground. DISRESPECTFUL BEWARE OF THIS PLACE SHE MIGHT SNATCH YOUR MONEY OUT OF YOUR HANDS. Trying to finesse you on your money or something this is the picture of the front so you know it's this store
google avatar

R. Bong V.

Yelp
The turon alone is worth the visit. Their version is a bit pricey, but even the price level is a plus for those of us who need some self-control when it comes to turon. Let me tell you more about this turon. It's properly coated with syrup and a hint of something else they do to their syrup. It stays crunchy for several hours. And the inside is almost like cream. Almost. The taste is balanced. Not too sweet that you need a sip of water with each bite. You can taste the saba banana inside that they must have cradled with grandmother love as they gently laid it on top of the turon wrapper for its journey into the hot oven.

K L.

Yelp
Closing time needs to be updated..drove 30 mins.. arrived before 7 pm.. No thank you..I won't come back.. Today was supposed to be my first visit. Horrible.. wasted time and gas.. Inconsiderate.. update on yelp.
google avatar

Yelp
Their puto is so dry and crumbly. Nobody wants to eat them. Just threw them in the trash. Waste of money.

Yelp
This has slowly become one of my favorite bakeries. Sadly they are closed right now but I'm still dreaming of ensaymadas when stay at home orders get lifted Although a small place, the bread is magical. They're in the same shopping center as two other bake shops and I wouldn't dream of going next door. They accept both cash and card (I think there's a minimum) and sometimes have freshly baked/warm bread in the case. I've yet to try anything I did not like. If you're skeptical, they have a lot of single packaged goodies if you want to try something without buying a 6 pack. But you'll be back I promise! Like I said, the plain ensaymadas are my favorite but the pan del sal is amazing. How can a plain dinner roll be amazing? Trust me, just try them! Besides great quality, prices are affordable and you can find something for the whole family. It's not a place, but I don't care as long as the bread is great. See ya soon, Valerios!

Yelp
ALL KINDS OF BREAD! Who does not like Bread?! This Bakery runs out quick but their bakery needs are fresh and tasty!! I love getting their sweet mini bread and their sugary mini bread rolls. But every time I walk in here I am surprised by the amount of bakery needs you see different. The Ube and Coco is also delicious. Loved there Pan de Sal too as mini bread rolls. You can not go wrong with freshness of bread!!!
google avatar

Yelp
AMAzing bakery, the best filipino bakery every!! So cozy and everything so fresh everyday.

Adriana P.

Yelp
I called today, Wednesday, to preorder turon and asked for what was the latest time for pick up - they said 645PM. I proceed to provide my intended order and gave a pick up time of 6PM, since I am unable to pick up prior to my shift on Friday since they open at 7AM. However, they said they can't do 6PM because they close at 630PM. I asked why did the time change. Ignored my question and kept saying the food will be cold. Considering that I am bringing this the next day, I verbalized that I am aware the food will be cold. I also know microwaves exist. Despite asking for clarification, I kept receiving push back and gave up trying. Really disappointed, this isn't the first time I've had to deal with difficultly when purchasing. I've been coming to this location ever since I was a child and I'm really disappointed with how things have been going.
google avatar

Fatima L.

Yelp
Hot pan de sal and pimento bullilit are the best. This is a Filipino staple. Place is too small and cramped though!
google avatar

Monica B.

Yelp
Love all their breads. My mother tried the "pan de coco" she loved it perfect fluff and filling. The best one for me is the "ensaymada" reminds me of my child hood favorite. Bread with butter with a little sugar on top, must try it.
google avatar

Ariel C.

Yelp
So. Very. Authentic. This place has legit philipino bread. So authentic I have to Google some stuff just to know what it is. They do have all the ingredients listed so it helps. My favorites are the ube flavored breads but I'm definitely going back to try some of their other things. They also have bibingka's for sale, decent size and a good price. This place can be a little intimidating if you're not philipino but their bread all looks delicious and authentic! They do require a $10 minimum for credit card charges. Theres also a bank of America right across the street if needed lol.
google avatar

Pam L.

Yelp
I Love Valerio's don't get me wrong.. But when I'm about to bite at this Spanish bread?!!! Awww Helll noooo!!! Major turn off now.. wtf?!!! -_-
google avatar

Jonas M.

Yelp
Good chicken empanadas! Poor production planning in Cerritos location. Always running out and Planning to have enough chicken empanada is not nuclear physics!!! Manager should know the pattern of purchasing by consumer and plan accordingly. Or take orders ahead of time???!!!

Brigitte L.

Yelp
OMG....UBE CRINKLE COOKIES ARE HEAVENLY. Go get you some! Will come back to try other items! It's also priced well during this crazy inflation era!
google avatar

Alice H.

Yelp
This place is a bit small but so many baked goods! I don't like how there aren't any prices or descriptions on anything. It was my first time at a Filipino bakery. We tried the bibingka, pandan cupcake, a coconut stuffed bread thing, a caramel roll (sooooo sweet!). The staff were nice, I would return to try the pineapple bread.
google avatar

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
Ahh~~ the hot and fresh pan de sal bread is the thing to get here. This place has been here for years since I remember my parents bringing me here when I was a kid. They also have pan de sal already made in a bag so you don't have to wait for the bread hot out of the oven. Their pimento stuffed pan de sal is good here too but really oily. Their ube bread (purple filling) is good too. So soft and not too sweet. The ensaimada (cheese bread brioche) is popular too and my family loves it as well. There is usually a line but they're pretty quick and efficient. There's always a group of old filipino guys hanging out near the front which is amusing. Cash only (my mom had a mini panic attack finding that out and only had her debit card.)
google avatar

Jasmine F.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite Filipino bakeries to go to. Whenever I come here it's always packed and crowded, which shows how popular this place is. I'd have to say this is also my favorite place to get Pan De Sal. Even when their bread has been packaged on the shelves, it still tastes fresh as if it came out of an oven. Their prices are very reasonable too! I bought a bag of 12 Pan De Sals and they were only $2.79. Besides selling bread, they also have other pastries such as Sapin Sapin, Cassava cake, and Pastillas. I definitely recommend coming here in the morning because that's when they have fresh bread and pasteries! P. S. They also have TFC playing throughout the day for your entertainment.
google avatar

Yhel J.

Yelp
The mamon I got today has molds on the cheese.I was not able to see it right away because the price sticker was on top of the cheese so you can't really see and I didn't open it until we got home. Now I question the other pastries I bought!

Stanya C.

Yelp
Tasty empanadas and treats . The Puto is so good . There is a decent variety to choose from Love this lil shop hope it always stays open

Ruby M.

Yelp
Very fresh and delicious. They bake daily. Excellent empanadas and dinner rolls. Quick service
google avatar

Gino F.

Yelp
Still the best place to get your Filipino pastry fix. Although their pandesal shrunk abit, but they're still as tasty as it was. Five star. :)

Bram P.

Yelp
A little disappointed in the quality of some of their goods. It's a bit of a hit or miss. This time was a big miss for me. I bought a pork hopya on whim. Hopya is a pastry similar to a moon cake and come in a variety of flavors. Pork hopya is traditionally filled with onions or scallions and despite it's name, contains no pork. I was excited to bite into an oniony filling, only to be let down by more pastry. It was hard to tell if I was any filling at all. The was only a hint of onion flavor at best, and an occasional scallion. The texture was okay, it wasn't completely dry and was reminiscent of hopya. I hope they improve their recipes in the future.
