Valletta Port - Authentic Italian cuisine

We visited this place for appetizers and we enjoyed every bite of it. Their salad with their sumac lemon dressing hit the spot partnered with the grilled octopus and their mashed potatoes. It was so good. The service was amazing. It just takes time though to get someone see us and get us a seat even though there’s no one in the restaurant. The place is dimmed and very cozy. Feels like very intimate and really nice to dine in and enjoy dinner with friends and families. They offer and outdoor and indoor seating.

Large restaurant with a nice atmosphere. We were part of a large group. Everyone enjoyed their meal although mine in particular wasn’t too great. I ordered the MEDITERRANEAN FLAME BRANZINO Grilled branzino topped with smoky fire-roasted tomato and pepper sauce, served over green potato puree with herbs and pistachios. It was cold and the skin was left on which was mush. Considering that this is supposed to be one of the CHEF'S SIGNATURE DISHES I was expecting better. Would recommend the restaurant tho as all the other food turned out good.

Wow, everything we ate was amazing! We're big foodies and have been to everything from hole in the wall to Michelin starred, and are picky about which places we'd actually go back to, and Valletta Port definitely makes the cut. We had the dip sampler, the halloumi, Istanbul salad, and the hunkar begendi. The dip sampler and hunkar begendi were our favorites, but it was pretty hard to decide! I like baba ghanoush but sometimes find it a bit tart, but it wasn't at all but full of rich eggplant flavor. All the dips were very impressive

This restaurant completely surprised me with how incredible the food was! My son and I went for my birthday, and we ended up spending two hours talking and savoring every bite. Everything we ordered stood out as some of the best food we’ve had in Alexandria. I really want this place to stay! If I had one small note, it’s about the ambiance inside—it felt a little dark /cold. The outdoor tent had a livelier vibe with playful design touches and large flickering candles. The music (a mix of jazz, Middle Eastern tunes, and even Pink Martini) was fantastic, and I found myself wishing the atmosphere matched that energy. But if you’re an ambiance person like me, don’t let it stop you—RUN, don’t walk, to eat here. Honestly, just some colorful glass candle holders and a few lights in the space, like the gorgeous ones in the window, would be awesome—just my opinion, of course. If you don't feel this, then it is a PERFECT place. We were unsure about how to enter since it was a slower weeknight near the end of summer. We came in through the café (which was closed) and weren’t greeted right away, which can sometimes throw me off. But any hesitation vanished once we sat down—the service and food were both outstanding. Now I know and am excited to come back to try the cafe. Standouts for us: Beef Sultan – whipped labneh blended with roasted beetroot, served with their house-made bread. Incredible flavor! Mixed Pide – Turkish-style flatbread with cheese, spicy Turkish sausage, peppers, and egg. So light and flavorful! Baileys & Turkish Coffee Tiramisu – If you love tiramisu, trust me, order this. The presentation alone is worth it.

Was happy to pay for my meal but honestly will never mention this place to anyone or want to come back. My spouse & I had the egg omelette & menemen. We also order a cappuccino & a Turkish Coffee. We were clearly the first customers of the day. All of the dinnerware was gorgeous but the glamour ends there, food was pretty mediocre. I eat Mediterranean food pretty often & this place falls short of conveying the amazing flavors from the Mediterranean. The tea at the end of our meal was also not great. Good enough to eat, not good enough to choose again.

Fantastic place to eat. Authentic Mediterranean dishes. The ADAMA KEBAB and BRANZINO were absolutely delicious, with a full, rich flavor. Try the Mediterranean Dip Spread and the Babaganoush as your appetizers. The service was excellent. They also serve breakfast and lunch. There is even an ice cream and Gelato bar. We ate on the patio and the vibe was so relaxing. The full bar was a plus. I Highly recommend Valletta Port. Check them out. You will not regret it.

Beet sultan and fettush salad - paired with the bread - were delicious! Did takeout this time, but looks like a lovely atmosphere. Thank you!

The service was excellent. The atmosphere was perfectly located near old town Alexandria; we sat at a window table and ppl watched. The menu didn’t have much variety and the chicken shawarma had a ground chicken texture which was not the best. But the latte me was delicious!

Third time back! I would say it gets better each time but it's always been great. On our second visit, we were here for a birthday and they really went all out - happy birthday music! Service was friendly and attentive. We walked in and it was easy to get a table. Entrance for dinner is closer to Trader Joe's and parking garage. Outdoor seating is available. It's a tranquil ambiance and can hear the conversation. Homemade flatbread with baba ghanoush. Falafel was perfect. Great drinks . Updates since last review: presentation of food was updated and is amazing. The menu changed a little e.g. falafel now offered as an appetizer. Would recommend the dip platter!

This was my first time in Old Town Alexandria and my friends were all picking where to go. I suggested we try this place and we're glad we did! We came on a weekend late morning, so we got the regular menu and brunch menu. It was pretty empty so we got seated and our food quickly. I ordered the shakshuka and my partner got the mixed pide (a flatbread with sausage). One of our friends got a breakfast platter which was really interesting. It came with a bunch of syrups and sides which were fun. The staff were mostly very friendly! I do wish I was served the shakshuka *with* the pita instead of after, but it wasn't a huge deal. And the pita was SO pillowy and soft :)

Horrible. And that's being generous. There aren't enough negative words to describe this place and soon I'll explain why. To start, as soon as I drove by the restaurant I saw a few people smoking hookah provided by the restaurant,it brang a bad pungency and aroma to the surrounding area. There was an ample amount of parking near the Trader Joe's however the restaurant didn't provide any dedicated parking. First of all the service. Luckily for us, there wasn't a load of people there just a couple of tables. Our waiter gave us a strange attitude that was unbecoming. When we asked her about the gratuity fee at the restaurant, she turned rude and made us feel uncomfortable. Nonetheless we went on to order their rather expensive (subpar) meals. When she took our order it took about 3 repetitions for her to get it correct which seemed odd since there was barely anyone at the place to make it seem loud. Now for the food. Absolutely horrible. My salmon came undercooked. Almost raw! I even told them to make it well done. Then the cheese flatbread,the price didn't match the size of it, it wasn't even enough for my little son. Their Diet Coke and water had a rusty aftertaste posing a health risk. The bread that came with dips was gas station grade, almost stale. Don't get me started on the baklava, what was supposed to be "the best in America" tasted like heated up Krispy Kreme donuts. The coffee tasted worse than the coffee you find at motels.Disgusting. I wouldn't recommend coming here if you want to have a nice time. There's nothing about this place that screams "4.5 stars" or "best in America". The best thing I got from this restaurant is a lesson to never get Turkish food again. French food is the best!

HORRIBLE! I went with my family of 5 and the gratuity was there, most of the time I didn't care for such things. I ordered the salmon and it was raw but at least I was the only one who got it, the food came quick, that is why. My family all said the food was average. The service? TERRIBLE. They couldn't care less because of the guaranteed tip. I look out for foot waiters, and this one was bad! There was a man called Joshua I presume shouting about in the back, which killed my joy and experience with the lovely area as I came all the way from Beverly Hills for this. The food was average, come at your own risk.

Here I was wondering where I could go for brunch before grocery shopping at Trader Joe's for the week. It has been said that you should never go grocery shopping while hungry. Well, I found a precious Mediterranean gem called Valletta Port and I'm in love... or maybe that's what being full of delicious food feels like.the calamari was perfectly seasoned and the cauliflower over hummus leave you feeling content.

Great food and ambiance. With free parking in Old Town, you can't beat it. Everything we had was so good we forgot to take photos!

This is definitely going to be one of my go-to restaurants in Old Town Alexandria. It's in the northern side of Old Town, where free parking can still be found. The staff is friendly and attentive. But most of all, the food was delicious and presented beautifully - a feast for the palate and the eyes. As others have mentioned, the Mediterranean Dip Spread is certainly a good choice for getting a taste of the variety of appetizers that Valletta Port has to offer. And although I'm not one to readily order lentil soup, I'm really glad I did get the Ezogelin Soup, thanks to the recommendations of other Yelpers. It really did soothe the soul, which needed some soothing. I can see Valletta Port being a favored destination for me to literally break bread with good friends on a regular basis.

The best lentil soup I've ever had!!! Great service, pan seared salmon dish and iced tea were also delicious. Will be going back to try more dishes.

What a great find! Great food and service. Love the atmosphere, and romantic vibe. The menu offers so many healthy choices. I recently had 27 of my neighbors dine together at Valletta Port. In anticipation they brought in the entire staff who were fantastic in every way. Everyone in our group said they couldn't be more pleased and can't wait to do it again.

Octopus was perfect, dip plate was amazing with complex flavors. pita was warm and fresh. Branzino was cooked to perfection. You must eat here.

I am writing another review of this restaurant because it continues to consistently meet or exceed every expectation and now serves BRUNCH! In fact, my wife and I stopped by for brunch both yesterday and today! On Saturday, we shared the delicious Turkish Breakfast Platter and drinks. I had the cucumber mint lemonade spritz, and my wife had champagne with pomegranate juice added. We enjoyed our brunch so much yesterday, we returned today. This time we shared an order of Menemen (eggs prepared in Turkish style with tomatoes, green peppers, and herbs) and the Gozleme with spinach and cheese. Everything, as always, was freshly prepared and delicious! Servers are knowledgeable and delightful, and the ambiance always comfortably serene. This place is our favorite spot in Old Town North!

What an amazing surprise. Wrapping up a meeting in Old Town Alexandria, I was craving Pho. So was headed to the Pho restaurant on St. Asaph right next to Trader Joe's; been meaning to try that place for a while. All I saw was Valletta Port, so went inside and learned the old Saigon Sunday place moved, and last Fall, Valletta Port moved in. So, I sat down and ordered their Ezogelin Soup! GAME CHANGER!! Ordered another one, right away, and cleaned the bowl on that one too. Such incredible ingredients, quality taste and the servers were all A+. Now I'll be returning for everything else on the menu!! Great big bar with comfy chairs, light swing jazz piping through the restaurant. Didn't want to leave.

. After being seated, I had to go get the wait staff. Food was less than ok; chicken Del la Casa was not good, and Chicken shawarma was tasteless, cold and dry. We were disappointed for quality of service and food. We'd not recommend this restaurant and not go back again

We tried this restaurant for lunch and it was fantastic. The food was so delicious and very nice service. We had the dips platter (with a sample of all of their dips and bread), which was presented beautifully and was delicious (my favorites being the eggplant and the pesto dips, but I even liked the beet dip and I don't typically like beets). The spinach and cheese pide (like a mediterranean pizza) was delicious and we tried a very unique dessert that was also really good. The only dish that didn't stand out for us was the cauliflower appetizer - the hummus part of the dish was outstanding but the cauliflower itself was a little underwhelming. We also had coffee, and noticed that they have a separate coffee and dessert shop that we will have to try another time.

Conveniently located next to Trader Joe's, this is a secret gem in Alexandria. The food is fantastic. The service is great. The ambiance is pristine. Highly recommend to anyone who likes Turkish/Mediterranean food.

Been looking for my Sunday coffee stop in the DMV that has good parking, and I finally found one! A great place to start your day! Their Turkish coffee is amazing and pastries, too!

My wife and I brought a friend to the restaurant last night and had an outstanding meal. For starters we had roasted Brussel sprouts with bacon jam and cashews. Our friend had never had them roasted. He enjoyed them as much as we did. Our second appetizer, though quite different, was excellent. This was the Caprese spread, which brought together tomato and mozzarella plus a cream blending pesto and pistachio. Our main courses were also quite good: Scallops and risotto Branzino with roasted potatoes Ground lamb kebab. This was our second visit to this new restaurant. We intend to come back.

Nice food, some of the menu items were not available. Please note- this is not a Maltese food, more Turkish/Greek.

My friend & I had lunch here today in celebration of her birthday tomorrow and liked the food and ambiance and also the location -- just across from Trader Joe's and downstairs from Talbots so we could do a bit of shopping after. The server was friendly but not too attentive which was surprising because there were only 3 other tables occupied. The chocolate honey cake was delicious and creamy and not too much honey (it was accompanied by a "Happy Birthday" recording and 4 staff in attendance.

Not a fancy menu but dishes are prepared with high quality ingredients and execution.

Cute outdoor area! We were so excited to try a new Mediterranean restaurant. We sat down waiting to order when 10 minutes passed, then 20 and we saw other people who just sat down getting served. Waitresses walked right past us to clean a nearby table yet nobody noticed we hadn't even gotten water. When we got up to ask some servers for water it still didn't come. 30 minutes later we had to go inside to speak with the owner. Finally she sent someone over! While they made a valiant attempt at service recovery it was hard to let go of the fact that was 30 min of our lives we couldn't get back. Now to the food.. hummus was bland but my husband disagrees. Falafel good, bread was ok. Chicken shish was very good. As was the lava cake for dessert. They made a great effort for service recovery, it's just unfortunate we had a bad first impression- thank you to Lana the owner for checking in on us and trying hard to salvage our evening.

Incredible place! The service was superb, the drinks delicious, and the atmosphere cozy and peaceful.

I have been here twice and both times the food was excellent, the service was great and the ownership checked in to make us welcome. This is a great location, beautiful inside and a great outdoor space where you can bring your dog. A friend and I met for drinks and snacks on the patio recently. What a pleasant evening and the food - amazing! This will be one of my regular stops. Oh - and I passed one of the managers on the street during my walk today and she remembered me!

Went for Sunday brunch, which consisted of an all-you-can-eat/prix fixe meal of Benedict's, omelettes, cheeses, spreads, pita, and pancakes. We were pleasantly overwhelmed with food.

This restaurant hasn't been open long, and I'm skeptical that it will last beyond a year. We ordered the ground lamb kebab dish, and it was average in taste, quality, and portion size. The service was okay, but there was no warm greeting when we arrived. You would think a new restaurant would be excited to welcome new customers. We placed our order, and the food was served without anything special that would make us want to return. The space, located across from Trader Joe's, is quite large, and several restaurants have come and gone from this location. I'm hoping they are just working out the kinks and that things will improve, but given the high cost of food, I won't be spending my money on a second visit.

Came here for dinner after their switch from Narman, huge changes, and a huge menu! Prices are way below for a good amount of food. The Valletta Burger is MASSIVEEEE! Will return soon!
