I really wanted to love this place. Unfortunately, we waited 45 minutes for a fairly simple order: French toast, scrambled eggs, and home fries for me; an omelette and home fries for my husband. The French toast alone was $20, which felt overpriced - especially considering it was burnt. The omelette was missing the vegetables we specifically asked for, and the bacon was extremely greasy, sitting in oil rather than being drained or patted dry.
All in all, it felt like a meal I could have made at home - and probably would have enjoyed more. It’s especially disappointing because we were genuinely excited to support a Black-owned business. We live in the neighborhood and there are many really great restaurants and we need more, however, unfortunately, with this experience we will probably choose another brunch spot down the street. I hope they’re able to improve the experience moving forward.
