"The Bronx is New York City's greenest borough (although Staten Island sometimes disagrees), and spending time in Van Cortlandt park is a peaceful way to relish in it. The more than 1,100-acres feel like a forest or jungle within the city, abounding with all kinds of wildlife—oak, red maple, and tulip trees; tiny tree frogs, and white-tailed deer; and cattails, moss, and all kinds of wildflowers, to name just several. The back hills of the cross country trails make great terrain to walk or run, offering cool shade and quiet for miles."

Today was my first visit and I was impressed by the size of the park. It seems to have many hiking trails, but unfortunately I didn't have time to do the hiking. The Van Cortlandt House Museum is a must see to get a better understanding of the park's history. Autumnal colors are truly amazing.

Extremely great park that often overlooked by tourists! The Fall color is absolutely breathtaking and it has big fields and beautiful hills. Great for casual exercise and sports activities. I went on a weekend when there are many high school sporting events going on! It’s very lively and full of positive vibes and energy!

Great Park! It's a cool place to see a cross-country meet. Nice trails, The Hare and Turtle trial is a jewell. The forest, the parade grounds, polo field, baseball fields there are plenty of options. The downside is parking around, and near the park is scarce and challenging.

The park has a lot of open areas, but the infrastructure and maintenance could be improved, especially for the climb up to Vault Hill.

Van Cortlandt Park in Riverdale is a delightful oasis, perfect for a peaceful weekday escape to enjoy beautiful weather and sunshine. My husband and I love to picnic here often, relishing the serene surroundings and lush greenery. The park holds a special place in my heart, as I fondly remember my days as a junior ranger, when my mom would whisk me away from the "city" to immerse me in nature and wildlife. Van Cortlandt Park is truly a gem for both relaxation and nostalgic memories! Just a short train ride up from Washington Heights!

This is my favorite park to ride my bike in. A lot of great trails to ride walk and run. There's a lot of history in this park too if you're a history nerd too and it's a cool park to go to if you need to clear your head

Wonderful ground for multiple sports, around 8-10 pitches for cricket and multiple areas to play football. We the huge dedicated parking. We played two back to back cricket games this morning. Nice and clean ground. Nice combination of wonderful ground and splendid view.
