The cookies and cream ice cream is so good! They also give you a generous portion. The ice cream doesn’t melt easily even when we were eating outside in a hot weather. I have to mention they have a lot of vegan options too! And lastly, the staff is really nice which makes the overall experience really great. 😊

Jesse at the Culver City location is awesome. Super patient and friendly. The ice cream is delicious. I love the strawberry Yuzu Cheesecake. I’ll definitely be back!

So delicious. Creamy ice cream, like homemade old fashioned style. Vegan and dairy options. Fun Sunday toppings. Quite a bit more expensive than Baskin Robbins type place - $11 for a 2 scoop cup with whipped cream, fudge, crumbles. But it tastes good and they have unique flavors. Still, when I ordered the works Sunday I expected a waffle cone for that price.

Came here after eating at the nearby Roberta's for dinner. The ice cream is excellent. I love that you can sample as many flavors as you'd like, especially with some of their more unique offerings. I ended up going with a classic Mint Chocolate Chip and it was delicious. When we were here, there was no wait and we were helped right away, but I can imagine there's sometimes a line. The staff were all helpful and friendly. The store itself is small, but there is outdoor seating available. You do also likely need to park in the neighboring parking garage for a hourly rate and this shop does not validate.

It's time to check out an LA classic, over at Van Leeuwens, a gold standard of ice cream in these parts. At this point, you all know how much we value texture! What better way to taste texture than something that we all should know the texture of! Coming into this cute little shop, you're greeted with some nice decor, and some options before you! Get some samples, and really hone into what you like! I went with the brown sugar cookie dough brownie! It was a great mix of nice ice cream, with those bits of brownies and cookie dough to sort of break up the monotony! Can't really go wrong here, especially because they let you sample everything! I got a (INSERT JOSH'S FLAVOR HERE), and it was much the same. These textures are superb. They've really engineered the ice cream here to leave that satisfying mouthfeel even after it leaves your orifice. Also, look at the cute pints they have! The colors are sure to saturate your eyeballs so that you eat with your sightholes before even tasting with your flavor muscle! You know what I mean? There's really not much else to say, besides, if there's a competition between ice cream brands, and you're wondering who wins? You've gotta head on over to Van Leeuwens!

Ice cream is a taught business! So many competitions... plus people (myself included) are becoming too health conscious that we don't go near an ice cream parlor any more, at least not as often. So when we do decide to go and spend our precious "sweet stuff quota", it better be a good one. Van Leeuwen is one that I'd say it's worth that "quota". They have great flavors (like Earl Grey) that you don't usually get in the supermarket. The Marionberry Cheesecake and the vegan Chocolate Brownie were also excellent. Service is great. Love the fact that they have prepackaged pint tubs that you can easily grab from the fridge and take home - they are great deals, as compared to buying single cups or scoops. The location isn't the easiest to get to. They are inside The Platform and parking is always a chore here! Not a lot of street parking and often a lot of traffic in the area - but c'est la vie in LA. If and when you do come spend time at The Platform, this is a cute little place to get some sweet refreshments!

It's a poplar ice cream chain, and the store is conveniently located near the metro station. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and I liked their sweet corn and blueberry jam flavor ice cream.

This is my favorite ice cream place in LA! They let you sample as many flavors as you want but I recommend black cherry chip!! So smooth and delicious, not heavy at all and not too creamy. Service is so nice and very fast too. Cute and clean interior ambiance (but no seating inside).

A quick stop at Van Leeuwen Ice Cream because of sudden craving of ice cream when we were passing by. The place was very clean. The staff were  friendly and fast. They have many delicious classic  flavors, vegan options,  seasonal special flavors, ice cream bars, and vegan chocolate chip cookies, in their menu I ordered Brown Sugar Cookie Dough Brownie which is basically; Brown sugar ice cream with pieces of cookie dough, brownies. It was creamy and rich in flavor and delicious. I will go back whenever I am in Culver City.

Highly recommend getting the cones here as they are the best I've ever had. The insides of the store are very aesthetic and the outdoor decor is nice too. The ice cream tastes the same as if you were to buy their brand from the local grocery store. The service was good, you can try free samples on a metal spoon that they reuse, which I thought was pretty neat

I came here on a Friday night around 8pm - it was busy but we were served very quickly! I appreciated being able to try as many flavors I wanted before making the official order, the two people working were so sweet and fun! The ice cream itself was very creamy and I LOVE a good, chunky ice cream and this absolutely fulfilled that The vegan chocolate chip cookie was also soooo good, I ate crumbles of it with my ice cream and that was a 10/10 combination right there Overall, great vibes, great service, excellent product! For 2 flavors scooped into a waffle bowl, a cookie, and then an extra single scoop cone for my friend (not pictured), I spent around $24-$28 (including tip) and it was well worth it I will definitely be back!

Van Leeuwen is a high end ice cream shop. It definitely is in the Top 3 of the most expensive single scoops of ice cream I've had. This location in Culver City is super cute and the plaza is very modern and clean. There are a plethora of flavors to choose from and I was sampling left and right until I finally settled on the Brown Sugar Cookie Dough Brownie. It was yummy! The chunks of cookie dough were scattered throughout each bite and the texture of the ice cream was great. I thought the lady working was very helpful and nice, and overall I was satisfied with my experience here.

Rich, creamy, wonderful ice cream and sundaes. Great choices for vegans as well, although they removed one of their best flavors, the surprisingly good vegan mint chocolate chip ice cream.

A delicious cup of Brown was served up nicely by a friendly guy. I remember his name began with the letter A. Anyway he provided me with A+ service!

Soooo yummy! Shop smells amazing and they have so many flavors to try. Got the chocolate cereal and milk flavor and it was so good. Little pricey and they don't offer half scoops though (gotta get two scoops if u want two flavors!)

Lots of really nice flavors and open late which is great. They often sell out of a few flavors so worth going earlier if there's something you really want to try. The praline butter cake and honeycomb are my favorites. One of our group had the jam donut special which she loved. They had 4 fall specials, including a pumpkin one. Good customer service and very clean as well. Definitely recommend.

Lots of yummy Vegan options. We sampled several of the vegan options and they were all very good. Did not even taste like they were vegan. They have all sorts of unusual but tasty flavors, vegan and non-vegan. Customer service was great, very friendly and they let us try as many samples as we wanted. Strawberry shortcake was my fav but the banana bread and peanut butter brownie were good too.

Small ice cream shop, but went because it's open until midnight! Looks clean. Even though it's 52°, a few people were outside eating ice cream. The first flavor I tasted was the bigface coffee affogato, and the only flavor I tasted. It tasted just like Kona coffee, like the ones in Hawaii. And since they didn't have matcha, there wasn't any option for me to try any more haha. $6.75 for 1 scoop, would be more worth it to get 2 scoops. However, I just got 1 and it was good! Not the tiny scoops nearly every ice cream shop does nowadays. Service: there was 1 man working, and he was very nice! Since I only tried 1 flavor in the beginning, and my friend was trying multiple, he kept asking if I wanted to sample any more flavors. 10/10 would go again before my trip is over! The ice cream pints are very colorful, very aesthetically pleasing.

I am not the easiest customer to please, since I am gluten intolerant and lactose intolerant. Otherwise, I am more than tolerate any good food or dessert. I came here relatively late, and there were people lounging on the long outdoor patio that serves as a quiet respite from a couple restaurants and stores in this plaza away from the street. After being told what Few options I had, I chose a cup with mint chip and PB Brownie Honeycomb which didn't sound GF but was. Both flavors were delicious as I sat for awhile on the inner courtyard patio and for that alone this joint earned 5 stars.

I usually don't go for ice cream, honestly, yet I'm quite glad my friends suggested we grab a dessert. Because holy moly, was it delicious. Marked a "fan-favorite," I decided to go for the Honeycomb ice cream which had bits of crunch intermingled throughout. Rather creamy and delicious. The folks scooping the ice cream were friendly and quick to provide samples, and the overall space was calm and enjoyable. Would go again, easily.

Great Ice Cream, But the Service Needs Work I was excited to take my daughter to Van Leeuwen this weekend for the first time, especially since she has a dairy allergy, and I'd heard great things about their vegan options. The vegan strawberry ice cream was absolutely delicious--it's clear they know how to make a great product. Unfortunately, the service didn't live up to the same standard. The employee helping us seemed distracted and a bit unfriendly, avoiding eye contact and not showing much enthusiasm. When we asked for the vegan strawberry, she used the communal ice cream scoop and started serving before I could request a clean one. As a mom of a child with a dairy allergy, this made me nervous. I understand that cross-contamination can happen, but there didn't seem to be a clear system in place to avoid it, which felt careless. To add to the experience, while I was paying, a random person walked in and asked for two waters, which the employee stopped to serve before finishing my transaction. It left me feeling like paying customers weren't exactly the priority. The ice cream was great, but the overall experience wasn't. I'll probably stick to Jeni's in Beverly Hills from now on, where the team is always kind, attentive, and goes the extra mile--like offering a fresh batch of vegan ice cream to ease allergy concerns. I hope Van Leeuwen can improve its service because their ice cream really is worth it.

I've hopped on the Van-wagon for sure, because this is my 4th Van Leeuwen location I've visited within the last 2.5 months! I can't get over the cute aesthetic and flavors Van Leeuwen has to offer, and it seems that each location is in the nicest plaza for that area. Staff are always more than willing to let you sample flavors without hesitation. My favorites so far are the classic Honeycomb and their Marionberry Cheesecake (such a perfect balance of tart and sweet!). The only downside is that the plaza this location is located has paid parking, and unfortunately Van Leeuwen isn't one of the shops that offer validation. But not to worry! Parking is $2/hr, so kinda a steal for the area. Let's see how many more Van Leeuwen locations I'll hit up!

Best French ice cream ever! Their pints are sold at some grocery stores & Targets all around the US, but there are only 8 states that have an actual Van Leeuwen ice cream shop, and thank goodness California is one of them! There are 1/2 a dozen locations in this state, and all are in LA. This Platform spot is in Culver City, in a very cool area with lots of other shops and restaurants. It was our first time at this brands store, so we were super excited to be able to try all the flavors we wanted! They have a delicious Black Cherry Chip, Pistachio, Honeycomb, and the most interesting, Malted Milkshake & Fries. That last one was so good, but we went with the Honeycomb and All The Cookies. That one was my favorite!

I love (most of) Van Leeuwen flavors , and esp love this location at the Platform! Perf dessert spot after having din nearby. Workers are all super sweet and generous with samples. Fav flavors: vegan mint chip, brown sugar w/ cookie dough, black cherry chip, cookies and cream, and brownie fudge! Some vegan flavas are questionable, but you can always sample :)

this place is so good and underrated, a true hidden gem. my family got ice cream sandwiches, a sundae, and simple scoops of ice cream and we were 1000% satisfied. it's super clean, the workers are so friendly and welcoming! thanks for a good night in the sweet treat craving!

Came here with some friends on a Sunday night. We wanted a quick & sweet end to a handout after our dinner. Van Leeuwen was the spot to be! I've always bought Van Leeuwen ice cream pints at my local grocery store, never had the ice cream at the shop. I gotta tell you - having the ice cream at the shop is so much better! This one in Culver City had such nice & friendly staff, too. I'm so glad I got to experience it! I got my favorite flavor, Earl Grey Tea, and got to try other flavors from my friends' ice cream choosing. I got to try the Honeycomb, Lemon Poppy Seed Muffin (which tasted exactly like a cookie), and Malted Cookie Dough. How could you do wrong with any of those flavors?

Ice cream chain with fun, inventive flavors. They had a caramelized onion one (that indeed tasted like the exact thing) as a temporary flavor as well as a a mustard one (that comes in a pint). Paid garage parking for the Platform as well as metered street parking available. You order and pay at the counter. Credit cards only. Outdoor benches are available to enjoy your treat. Vegan options are available. They have sundaes and ice cream cookie sandwiches as well. When we went, they were doing one free topping with your order, which was nice. I got the dark chocolate fudge brownie with walnuts, and it was a very generous scoop. The pretzels were also a good topping choice. You have the option of doing either a cone or a cup.

Just what the doctor ordered. Not really, but it satisfied my ice cream craving. Since it was non-dairy, I don't have any complaints. I got the single scoop banana pudding flavor and it was perfect. It wasn't too cold but creamy. Warning you that they are selling the scoop with LA prices but they do pack a lot in that single scoop.

We tried this out for the first time after we received a gift card from a friend. It's a little out of the way for us to get there, but it ended up being so worth it. Some of the best ice cream I have ever had. The coconut coquito was amazing. It was a tough decision to get that over the lemon poppyseed flavor because they were both equally amazing. I still remember it a week later. The shop is tiny, but hard workers and pumping out great stuff! The parking across the way is easy enough although you do have to pay. This place is up there with best. I've had salt and straw, gingers, and this is topping the cake. Definitely pricey, but every once in a while you should just treat Yo'self

SERVICE - located in the platform shopping area in Culver City - walking distance from Culver City metro stop - paid parking lot nearby - open very late - no restroom - no indoor seating - server was kind enough to give us samples and we asked for quite a few MENU - inventive ice cream flavors - lots of vegan options - allergens clearly marked - a little pricey ($6.50 for a single scoop) FOOD - vegan dark chocolate pumpkin ice cream (8/10): I got this as a mini sundae since it was only $0.50 more and comes with 3 free toppings. For the toppings, I chose walnuts, hot fudge, and honeycomb. The ice cream had an intense dark chocolate flavor that pairs well with the hint of sweet pumpkin and the warm spices. For the toppings, my least favorite was the honeycomb since it just tasted like sugar. On the other hand, the hot fudge was spectacular. It tasted like a brownie made into sauce and poured over the ice cream. WOULD I COME BACK? Yes! The flavor I got was seasonal so I want to try more options.

Brown sugar cookie dough was very creamy and lots of texture and effort, but if ure expecting the Hagen dazs cookie dough taste this feels more subtle and the cookie dough isn't intense enough Do not get vegan chocolate chip cookie, I paid for 2 so that I could enjoy one today, one tomorrow. They're really hard and tiny chocolate chips, came out of a jar that looks like it hasn't been cleaned ever inside. Cashier said it's good, there's no way unless she had then right out of the oven.

I tried the brown sugar cookie dough brownie and the peanut butter brown honey comb and wow! These two flavors were so delicious and just were so good. I really enjoyed the two scoops I got that day. The area the ice cream shop is in is in a cute little outdoor shopping plaza. It's very peaceful and there's always people around so it's just a cute little area to be in. I will say that the staff did seem a bit unfriendly, but that may have just been my personal experience. It's important to note not everyone may be having the best day and that's ok! They weren't rude at all, just seemed a bit bothered by something. Other than that, their service was straight forward which is A ok with me! Other than, would definitely come again if I'm in the general area!

Tried this spot tonight , and the Black Cherry Chip ice cream was delicious! Asher provided great customer service and let us try multiple different flavors before deciding which one to get. Going back soon!

One of my go to ice cream shops. It is open late and in a really cute part of town! Parking is abysmal which sucks because if there was better parking in this area, I would be here more often. Every-time I go is a new experience as there are new flavors every month to try; how exciting! Definitely come out for some late night dessert or just a cute date night!

I went to Van Leeuwen Ice Cream this past Friday. I had 2 scoops of ice cream in a waffle cone along with a vegan chocolate chip cookie. The ice cream flavors I chose were Black Cherry Chip and Cookies & Cream. I loved the Black Cherry Chip flavor as I really liked the bits of cherry and chocolate chip in it. I didn't really enjoy the Cookies & Cream flavor as I thought it was a bit plain and I couldn't taste or see any cookie bits in it. The waffle cone was good and had a good crunch to it, although I thought it tasted just a bit overly sugary. The vegan chocolate chip cookie was delicious and had the same taste and texture of a non-vegan chocolate chip cookie. I would definitely go back to Van Leeuwen to try more ice cream flavors as well as try any of the other items they sell.

This place was recommended the last time I came here to eat and I'm not disappointed. While I was walking up, I saw a lot of people walking away with cones, so it's definitely a hot spot. Very family friendly. No inside seating but plenty of seating outside. No parking in the complex, but there is a garage across the street. I ordered the vegan cookies and cream caramel swirl. I can't tell it's vegan. Very flavorful and just enough caramel to make it great, not overwhelming. The cost was $6.50 for one scoop. That's pretty pricey for one scoop, but I'm giving 5 stars for the flavor and service. It was great ice cream and the worker assisted me within minutes of being in the store.

Solid ice cream, and fun little area (plan to come after dinner at the Platform!) Food 4/5 The ice cream was amazing.  My favorite was the chocolate chip cookie dough. We also tried the praline and peanut butter chocolate chip.  You will not be disappointed with the ice cream at all. When comparing it to my favorite, which is Jeni's, the only area it falls short is the cone. I didn't love the waffle cone flavor. I think next time I would just get a cup and be very happy.  I will surely be back to try The other flavors such as mint chocolate chip! Ambiance 5/5 Great little space around the platform, with many different seating options. You can be in the thick of the crowd between Robertos and the shops, or you can find a little nook where it feels intimate. They also have beautiful nighttime lighting set up, perfect for an after dinner snack. I feel like the vibe would be a little less special during the day. Perfect for families and kids. Plenty of safe open space around if you have a stroller or a toddler.

Get the earl grey ice cream. End of story. My gf got the vegan tiramisu and it was alright. The texture was strange so I'd recommend salt and straw if you want good vegan ice cream. The waffle cone was maybe the best part of the whole thing.

If you're looking for some late night ice cream with a good amount of dairy-free options, Van Leeuwen is the spot! I'm not unfamiliar to this business but it was my first time visiting the Culver City location. Great customer service plus they did not skimp on the toppings! You know you're in the right place if you see the stunning wall art on the parking structure. Highly recommend.
