Van Leeuwen Ice Cream

Not very innovative in terms of flavors, quite standard array of flavors. They do have vegan ice cream as well. Tried vegan Banana pudding, vegan chocolate fudge brownie and cookies & cream flavors, they all were good and creamy. $13.28 for a waffle bowl with three scoops of ice cream, and it is good for two people. Service was quick and waffles are made fresh. They are crisp and thick. Ice cream is not overly sweet, which is a plus.

Smaller location, however convenient by hudson yards. It's difficult to see the flavors while waiting in line. It's definitely one of the better quality ice creams I've had! Waffles cones made fresh on site.

So we came in for the first time ever, excited to try Van Leeuwen. We got Vanilla bean, cookies & cream, & another flavor (I forgot). The service was incredible and we ended up getting our order free because we only had cash and we promised to pay card on our next visit. The ice cream is great and service is incredible, & I will definitely be returning!

This is a recently opened location in the Hudson Yards mall. So many creative flavors and a great selection of vegan ice cream too! I got one scoop of their vegan churro with fudge ice cream which is made of oat milk, so creamy and tastes lighter than regular ice cream. I got the regular sugar cone but definitely want to try their waffle cone next time. Store was busy (around 8pm) but staff was attentive and made sure everyone placed their order and moved through the line quickly. 10/10

Beautiful little shop, delicious ice cream with perfect texture (honeycomb was my favorite), and really friendly staff. Jennifer and Star made our night! They were so welcoming as soon as we walked in and were happy to help us choose flavors. We tried quite a few ice cream shops on our trip to NYC, but this one stood out because of the wonderful service.

The new Van Leeuwen Ive Cream location at the Hudson Yards mall is a lot nice and bigger than the original store that was on the third level of the mall. The wide open entrance with the bright yellow color is a lot more inviting and visible to see. Very friendly staff, clean space, and easy service getting whatever flavor you want! Ordered the vegan Planet Earth and vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough in a cup.

The earl grey tea flavor is absolutely amazing. Hands down. The honeycomb one is wayyy too sweet even if I only got a bite to try. Will come back again for the earl grey 100%!

Super delicious ice-cream with very high quality vegan options too! Located opposite Uniqlo (new location!) The staff are always so friendly and helpful in Can Leeuwen to get you to the bet choice for you. You can get tasters of the serious flavours to check you like it beforehand. Our favourite is the Brown sugar cookie dough! They also do pints to take home.

My trip to Van Leeuwen Ice Cream inside Hudson Yards Mall was a sweet delight. The location couldn't be more convenient, and the shop itself exuded a cute and chic vibe, although seating options were a bit limited. However, the real star of the show was the ice cream itself - the flavors were absolutely incredible, leaving me practically drooling with each bite. Among the array of delicious options, the honeycomb flavor stole my heart. Its rich and creamy texture combined with the perfect hint of sweetness had me coming back for more. Whether you're in need of a quick treat while shopping or simply craving some top-notch ice cream, Van Leeuwen inside Hudson Yards Mall is definitely worth a visit.

I've seen this brand in grocery stores, but never knew they had brick and mortar parlours as well. It's a cute little ice cream parlour in Hudson Yards. The place gave me nice calm feeling and felt pretty upscale too. I was fascinated by how they stored each flavour in a separate mini chiller, so they were opening them when helping you try their options. And they make you taste the ice creams with steel spoons and not the plastic ones. Definitely a plus in my books. I liked the flavour options they had. We ended up getting a scoop of dark chocolate fudge brownie and a scoop of banana bread with walnuts on a waffle cone. We enjoyed both flavours. I liked how neither of them were too sweet or too bitten. They had a nice balance of flavours. Now I want to try some of their wacky flavours I've seen in grocery stores.

Visited the Hudson Yard location. The smell drew me to this ice-cream parlor. Cute shop and the staff were helpful and so patient. The line can be long so relax and pack some patience. lol All I will say is that they make their cones fresh!!!!!! So many options including vegan. But I opted for classic flavor. I had the Big Face Coffee Affogatto. It was divine.

Visiting from out of state and the ice cream and service was very good. The long line moved smoothly as they had 3 staff working. The cookies and cream was excellent. This visit was on a Thursday night around 8.

First off, David needs a raise... ASAP. He was the only employee and held the line fantastically. He provided respectful and helpful customer service which made my experience that much better. About the ice cream... probably top two ice creams I've EVER had. The Brown Sugar Cookie Dough was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love Van Leeuwen and their very unique flavors. I am not vegan, but often choose those. The current speciality ice cream of sweet potato tastes just like a sweet potato casserole. Honeycomb is probably my favorite flavor though. Go on here and try a couple samples of unique flavors and enjoy!

Extremely condescending staff. Came here with a valid van leeuwen email with a discount. Incompetent staff member didn't know how to use the cashier and didn't want to honor the discount. She also didn't tell me. When I pointed it out she told me in a super condescending way to 'relax and lower my voice'. Maybe she was deaf cause I was speaking super softly. This person was so arrogant.. very sad. Also, letting dogs into your facility and letting them jump on the counter and lick everything is just gross.

Stop by to check this ice cream out. Located inside the mall across the vessel. Line was pretty long and they seemed short staff. We were able to sample the ice cream before purchasing. I got the black cherry chip and that was delicious. Wasn't too sweet at all. I believe they had vegan flavors as well as seasonal flavors. I like the color scheme of the shop. They had pints for sale to go also.

This is the best ice cream ever! Since Yelp wants me to write more...I have to say the service was phenomenal. The server and I joked around when I was picking the flavor. I ended up ordering the cherry mint aka knockoff of Ben and Jerry Cherry Garcia. Note: they only accept credit card. I tried to pay in cash...nope.

Really really really dope ice cream and it's worth the line. They got vegan and non-vegan choices. As this was my first time trying, I had to use my favorite flavor ever as the baseline - cookies n cream. The ice cream didn't disappoint! At $6.25 for a single scoop, it's definitely a splurge, but fun on occasion. If only the stores in the Hudson Yards mall were open past 9, oh well......

Greeted by a friendly ice cream server behind to bar. Tried two flavors and was impressed with the vegan selection. I settled on cookie dough, but felt the ice cream was more icy than creamy. While I joined a friend who wanted to go, I wouldn't really rush back or recommend to a friend. This is a casual spot.

Atmosphere: The interior of this Van Leeuwen shop is bright, clean, and has a welcoming, pastel color scheme. Some seating is available inside the shop. Service: The cashier who served us was helpful and patient with us as we sampled some flavors. Food: We ordered a scoop of strawberry and a scoop of honeycomb ice cream with sprinkles. The strawberry ice cream was delicious -- sweet and flavorful, but not too overpowering. We loved the honeycomb ice cream, as it was a new flavor that we hadn't seen or tried before. The subtle honey flavor was very natural and addicting and made for a unique dessert! Overall: Van Leeuwen has not disappointed us, and we always stop by a shop when we can! We look forward to trying even more new flavors.

Clean location and pumpkin cheesecake flavor is hands down on of the best ice creams I've ever had. For kids, great too. Sprinkles are thin and yum.

Stopped in here to grab a quick Frozen treat for the kiddos. They have a promo going on with visa, where you get a free waffle cone upgrade. They're mint chip was refreshing on a hot summer day. Bonus points because it's completely vegan. They were kind enough to give me a cup to split it for my kids. Will return!

Whenever I am in the Hudson Yards area, I love to stop by Van Leeuwen for a scoop of ice cream. Sometimes they have a ice cream truck just outside the mall with smaller selection of flavors, but you'd need to trek up to their location on the third floor of the mall for the full array of flavors. The best flavors by far are the Earl Grey and the Honeycomb. I tried the rose sorbet at my last visit and it was just okay, nothing too special and not really worth the price. Their single scoop is pretty big in my opinion, but they have a kids scoop you can get as well which is not advertised on the menu. This location can get busy (especially when there are indecisive customers) so be prepared to wait a bit in line during weekends. Each time I visited, they just had one staff member working.

OMG Van Leeuwen was just what I needed at the right time and the right place! My inner chubby girl was yelling out for attention, asking for ice cream but....authentic, creamy, rich flavored ice cream preferably within a nice store that I can just sit in and relax. This is that place! Staff was amazingly friendly and knowledgeable about the flavors and menu. They allow samples for indecisive folks like me *giggles* I finally went with the cookie dough flavor ...HEAVEN ON A CONE ! A bit pricey but worth every $7 something dollars that I spent. This included the waffle cone... My friend described the milk shake as, one of the best she's ever had! They also have the option of almond milk which is a huge plus for me. Vegan options are available! Enjoy

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream honestly surprised me with their assortment of vegan ice cream options. They were outstanding, extremely creamy, and delicious you would never know you weren't eating the real thing! If you happen to have a friend who's dairy free but you aren't this place will deliver for both of you! The way this establishment is set up similar to other you'll select your "holder" cup or cone, the size you want, and then of course the flavors you want to fill them with. The employees here were super patient allowing me to taste through their different flavors until I decided on the right one. The brown sugar cookie dough chunk is heavenly a must try. A little $$$ but totally worth it, what else would you expect in NYC?

Van Leeuwen features dairy (classic) and vegan ice creams. ⁣I usually stick with the classic earl grey tea, classic pistachio or the vegan chocolate. All of their ice creams have rich, creamy flavors. My favorite would be the classic earl grey tea. It has a really smooth texture and has a strong earl grey tea flavor. It is highly addictive and a must-try! Due to the pandemic, they are currently not allowing customer to sample.

Give you 5 stars for ice cream and 0 stars for customer service and price transparency. The line was 10 people deep and only 1 employee was helping customer. Another employee was busy washing the waffle maker. Couldn't he have done that another time? I was charged $10.35 for two scoops (see pic) when the advertised price was $8.50 or so. Not sure why.

Good ice cream and they have several vegan flavors and a few with alcohol in it! Located inside the mall Hudson Yards so it's never crowded. A ht pricey but it's the area and location. Got several flavors and they all taste good.

Amazing flavors for the icecream. While it's a busy spot, the service was very prompt! I got the churros fudge which was a bit sweet for my liking but honeycomb was good. Also tried the brownie fudge and it was amazing!! Definitely a must try place in Hudson yards

Ordered the brown sugar cookie dough chunk. The flavors were really prominent so could taste every ingredient, very unique combination. There was enough cookie dough chunks in it. Loved the brown sugar flavor as well. The only complaint was that it was pretty expensive for a scoop of ice cream.

The ice cream is delicious. The service is okay. The ambience is alright. I recommend for those who love Van Leeuwen products.

I tried the earl grey ice cream and loved it. The texture was so satisfying - super thick and creamy. The earl grey flavor was strong and very yummy. Also, we went on a Saturday afternoon and there was no line! The only downside to this place is the high prices.

Van Leeuwen at Hudson Yards was open at the perfect time for my desert this visit to the mall. I had tried their ice cream near my home and wasn't impressed with the taste and high price. Today I decided I couldn't resist the Peanut Butter Brownie after the nice employee told me it was peanut butter ice cream with fudge chips. It sounded so good. She said it's her favorite and it's mine too now! With tax it was $6.26 for a single scoop in a cup. It was the perfect size for my appetite this day. They have a table outside where I conveniently sat to enjoy my treat. It was definitely a pleasant experience. I recommend this location if you're a fan of Van Leeuwen Ice Cream.

Not going to lie, I didn't have high expectations for this place since they advertised themselves as a vegan ice cream shop. I personally like cow milk as the base; however, this place knocks the ball out of the park with their Brooklyn Brown Sugar and Vegan Cookies & Cream Caramel Swirl. I ordered both and they are $6.50 per scoop. Each scoop should be more than enough to satisfy your ice cream craving. The vegan flavor is made out of coconut milk.

I've tried better vegan ice cream. The flavors were just alright. The pretzel topping was not good. Anyways think this place is over hype and overpriced.

Conveniently on the 3rd floor of Hudson yards, Van Leeuwen always has a wide array of interesting flavors to try. This time we ordered a chocolate fudge brownie milkshake. We requested it to be thick but the staff added too much milk and had to remake it. We're glad that we were able to get what we wanted, especially for a $10.50 milkshake! There's not much seating right in front of the store, but if you walk a little to the left near the escalators, there are a lot of tables. Check upstairs near shake shack for even more seating!

100% some of the best ice cream I've ever had. I pretty much tried the entire menu before I settled on the honey comb ice cream which I honestly could've consumed an entire pint of. I honestly cried a little at how pricey a single scoop was (it was enough to buy an entire pint of Ben & Jerry's), but when you're on vacation you gotta let loose a little and treat yourself. I'd recommend coming by here if you're waiting for your time slot to go visit the Vessel which is right outside this shopping centre. Great ice cream, great location. I'll let the damage to my wallet slide for this place.

This place ice cream is literally out of this world. I am not a big ice cream eater. But the flavors that this ice cream place has are incredible. I got the the vegan chocolate brownie flavor ice cream with chocolate chip sprinkles and hot fudge and was mind blown. The ice cream was hearty with deep complex chocolate taste, along with piece of soft brownie nuggets all throughout the ice cream. This place definitely does ice cream right and i will definitely be coming back for seconds!!! And or thirds......

Came here near closing so there was no line at all! Staff was really accommodating and friendly. They offered samples so we could taste the flavors before choosing, which was really thoughtful. I ended up getting a 3 scoop cup with the flavors banana pudding, honeycomb, and brown sugar cookie dough chunk. While it was a bit pricy (~$10) and I don't think I'd normally pay this much for ice cream, the flavor and quality was really worth it. This size was also perfect to share with my friend. It's seriously perfect for a hot summer day and I'd 100% recommend this place for people to try at least once in their lives.

I came here ordered the pistachio ice cream it was the first ice cream I tried and I was like yup that's the one I want. Superrrr creamy supper rich probably one of the best ice cream I had! They offer here vegan ice cream as well which I tried it was not bad at all . The ice cream shop is inside the Hudson' yard shops and it was just perfect they have seatings available and staff were pretty awesome. They also have ice-cream pints to order out. There's also many toppings available. Process is very easy cone or cup? Choose Flavors and toppings ? 1 scoop 2 scoop or 3 whose counting lol. I will definitely be back keep in mind some ice cream do sell out. You can also upgrade to a waffle cone which was as soo good and fresh. TIP- they are cashless debut or credit only!

I usually drop by this Van Leeuwen ice cream shop whenever I'm around Hudson Yards. I usually get the current special or exclusive ice cream flavors here. I have tried the Vegan Green Planet flavor (April 2019), Off The Rails flavor (May 2019), and today ... Vegan Oat Milk Chocolate Crunch flavor. I loved the Vegan Green Planet flavor the most and I hope they bring back this special flavor one day. The ice cream prices are expensive in my opinion. Current prices are $5.50 regular / $5.75 Vegan (1 scoop), $7.50 regular / $5.75 Vegan (2 scoops), and $9.50 regular / $9.75 Vegan (3 scoops). Their waffle cone is $1 extra. It's nice to come try their ice cream here or at their other locations once in awhile. They also sell pint size ice cream to bring home too. BTW, it's a cashless establishment so you can only pay by credit card. Serivce has been good during my experience. You can ask the staff to try some ice cream flavors before making a final decision. Seating is also pretty limited. But, I usually get a seat most of the time here.

We were excited to try their ice cream because we heard such good things about Van Leeuwen. Unfortunately, we purchased their vegan Ice cream and were very disappointed. It had lots of ice crystals. It was pretty terrible and we were obviously disappointed. My guess is that it's been sitting in the freezer case for a long time (perhaps it's not sold as often). But the people who work there are extremely friendly and nice.

TLDR: Vast selection of good non dairy and dairy ice cream. Nice location inside bougee mall by Huston yards. Went at 9pm and there was still a line. This location closes at 10 on Sundays. The shop is new and super cute. Not much room to sit and chat though. Got the non dairy cookie crumble strawberry jam. Super yummy and honestly if someone told me it was dairy, I would believe it. Good texture which is what I consider the downfall of most non dairy ice cream. Sweet but not overly and the flavor I got was not too rich. My friends got chocolate fudge brownie and it was super rich. Even though ice cream was good, not a five stars due to value for money. It's pretty pricey for a scoop. The scoop I got was actually a scoop and not like a massive scoop packed into a small cup.

Must. Try. Ice. Cream. Located inside the shops at Hudson Yard on the third level. This is probably one of the best ice creams I've eaten that wasn't insanely sweet. A cute little shop with friendly employees, the flavors to choose from weren't that out of the ordinary with a few of such as Earl Gray Tea, Honeycomb and other specials that I can't remember. You are allowed to try samples of some flavors you're curious about which was nice. While in line, I was set on getting myself a cup of the Earl Gray Tea flavor...until I tried this Honeycomb flavor which was BOMB. There were small chewy pieces of honey mixed in giving it a natural honey flavor and it wasn't too sweet at all. I was honestly shocked at how good it tasted! The one scoop was perfect for me- if I could eat more I probably would've gotten a scoop of the early gray tea and the honeycomb. My husband got two scoops- one was the cookies n cream which was the best cookies and cream flavor I've had. It wasn't drowned in sugar and the cookie and ice cream ratio was perfect. His second scoop was the chocolate fudge brownie which is always his go to for any kinda dessert and I was a little disappointed in how sweet that tasted. The chocolate fudge brownie was too heavy for my liking ..which make sense since it IS a fudgy consistency, but overall it was way too much. I was really happy with my choice of the honeycomb flavor because again- it wasn't overly sweet and I loved the little pieces of honey crunches inside! I LOVE this brand of ice cream with the exception of it being $5/scoop.. so 3 scoops came out to $17 total for ice cream :( Regardless, I'd still come back and try their other flavors!

This might be one of the prettiest ice creams I've ever received! Ordered one scoop of the chocolate ice cream and I thought the scoop itself was pretty big. The ice cream was solid in taste- really rich and creamy. However, it is definitely a bit over priced compared to other ice cream shops in the city- but I guess you're paying for the experience of experiencing *authentic* Van Leeuwen's ice cream! The staff was great, no complaints on the front! It is a cashless store so be sure to bring a card.

I got the strawberry ice cream on a waffle cone. Extremely tasty. If you're one of those people who like ice cream without the chunks of strawberry this is the flavor for you. My boyfriend got a Sunday with chocolate fudge brownie. He loved it, it is extremely rich in the chocolate flavor. Would i come back? Yes worth the money? Yes, total was $15

Been to a few different locations. solid. I ordered the Praline and Buttercake and Cookies and Cream scoops in a sugar cone. The praline and buttercake was very good. This Hudson Yards location is nice to have one given it's indoors within a larger shopping mall.

I always love going to one of their locations. This location is a few shops away from the H&M. It's a bit hard to find because the mall is laid out very strangely. The aesthetic is very cute and has a mint green exterior. There is limited seating in the front. The ice cream bar is in the middle and there is an ice cream pint freezer in the back. Their ice cream never disappoints. I love the salted caramel (which comes in a vegan form as well). It's extremely creamy and smooth. I love it! I tried the chocolate fudge brownie, which actually has some bits of brownie in it so the ice cream itself has more of a texture than their standard ice cream. I also really love their early grey flavor. I have a pint at home that I love taking a few spoonfuls from every now and then. It's hard to not eat the entire pint all at once. If you haven't tried Van Leeuwen's ice cream, please go to one of their locations to grab a cone! I cannot recommend it enough.

Outside of The Shops at Hudson Yards there was a Van Leeuwen pop up truck and I couldn't resist! This was my first time having honeycomb ice cream and it did not disappoint at all. Super delicious and I would definitely return sometime in the future if in the area.

We were visiting NYC from Miami. We had 3 little kids so upon searching for some "must visit" dessert spots, this place came up. Turned out to be convenient since we were visiting Hudson Yards. Two adults in the group, including myself, tried their Earl Grey Tea ice cream. I'm happy I did. Very tasty, not too sweet and no gross bloated feelings afterwards. The gentleman who helped us was extremely pleasant and patient with our questions and requests to taste a few flavors.

My daughter and I were walking along Chelsea piers and decided to get some ice cream since it was so hot! We went into Hudson Yards, walked around and ran into this ice cream shop. There were people lined up out the door. She had strawberry and I had honeycomb. Honeycomb was recommended by the person helping me. It tasted like caramel, but with bits of crispy honey in it. Amazing! Strawberry also tasted very fresh and creamy. The servers were also very pleasant and nice. I love good service and kind people when I'm in a busy place getting food. Wish we had one of these in Houston!

Berry yummy ice cream. We visited the location at Hudson Yards while waiting to do the EdgeNYC and it was busy due to the holidays. Service was awesome and allowed us to ask questions about the different flavors. We each got two scoops of ice cream and really enjoyed it! I'd recommend it to any ice cream lover!
