"The ice cream maker opened a new Chelsea shop at 258 West 16th Street near Eighth Avenue this week; I note it will be open from 12 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday, October 28 with $1 scoops available from 12 to 2 p.m., marking Van Leeuwen's 20th New York City storefront — although the company recently paid $33,500 in city fines and accounted for 90 of the 174 cashless-violation citations issued by city officials from November 2020 to October 2022." - Luke Fortney

Delicious and good quality. Worthy intake of calories. Enjoyed the light crispness of the waffle cone. Felt like something between a waffle and sugar cone. Not overly dense. Also yay for being able to taste some of the unique flavors before choosing. Dairy free options available but I didn’t try those.

One of my favorite spots for ice cream in the city is Van Leeuwen at 258 W 16th St. I’m especially obsessed with their chocolate ice cream with honey roasted almonds — such a perfect combo. They’ve got tons of flavors to try, awesome milkshakes, and options to take home too. Always a treat stopping by here!

We really enjoyed this café! The ice cream was absolutely amazing - rich flavors, creamy texture, and a great variety to choose from. A special thanks to the guy at the counter - he was super sweet and friendly, helping us pick the best flavors. The only downside was that it was a bit chilly inside, so we couldn't stay long or try more. Still, we'll definitely come back!

Honey comb is good, especially the tiny crunchy honey pieces. Earl grey tea and coffee were both average and skippable for me, you can try some samples, I got a few to try before buying!

You haven't tasted incecream until you've tried Van Leeuwen's! The peanut butter&brownie flavor is to die for. Staff friendliness depends on the store but the taste of the icecream makes up for it!

I recently hosted a work event here and it was a big hit. The employees provided very fast and friendly service. The ice cream was rich and there were many great flavors to try.
This location is normally not very busy so if you're a fan of Van Leeuwen, I would highly recommend stopping by this location.

I visited Van Leeuwen with my son, who has multiple severe allergies. I informed the staff, and I want to give a heartfelt thank you to Emil and Melinique for their outstanding support. They were incredibly kind, careful, and attentive, making sure my son felt safe and included. Their professionalism and warmth turned what is usually a stressful experience for us into a joyful one. I’m deeply grateful and will absolutely be coming back. Thank you for making our day!

The brown sugar cookie dough brownie flavor is divine especially with their housemade waffle cone. Generous portion and the staff was friendly.
