"Quickly multiplying ice cream shop Van Leeuwen — an UES location opened last week — is celebrating its 10th anniversary today. To honor the occasion, the brand, which started as a truck, will drive around in its original home and hand out free scoops of vegan passionfruit and chocolate hazelnut base with candied hazelnuts, chocolate chips, and white chocolate swirl. From 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., the truck will be parked near Chelsea Market, from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. near Union Square, and from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. near Brooklyn Bridge Park." - Stefanie Tuder

It's quite pricy & not the best ice-cream out there but the strawberry flavor was good. And this location is right outside of Union Square Park, which makes it very convenient for a grab-and-go and cool down in the park on a hot summer day.

Really good ice cream!! It’s a bit pricy, I’m not used to NYC prices yet, but it’s totally worth it. I tried bigface coffee affogato and vegan dark chocolate fudge brownie. The chocolate option was vegan and really tasty and creamy. I would recommend it.

Always a pleasure to stop by a Van Leeuwen Ice Cream store. When it’s located in one of New York’s finest parks? All the better. This is a window/counter, not a full store, so flavors are limited, but who can complain when the flavors are so glorious, so expertly and elegantly crafted? I went with honeycomb and cookies and cream in a waffle cone on my last visit. It was heavenly. And the gentleman who helped me was super friendly. A warm and welcoming experience.

Looks more of a pop up store and takeaway. I forgot the name of my order but it had nuts and cooke dough with it. A pretty cool nice treat in the middle of a hot sunny day.

Great little stand for grabbing some ice cream! I got the affogato and the chocolate fudge, and my friend go the honeycomb. All three flavors were delicious! It's a tad pricey, but it's convenient since it's right in Union Square.

I totally recommend the cookies and cream it is the best cookies and cream ever, a very great ratio. The workers Kat and Shantel were also so very helpful and super nice to me, they helped accommodate me greatly. I would definitely go back!
