London’s New Restaurant Openings - London - The Infatuation

"Sourdough institution E5 Bakehouse is opening at the V&A East Storehouse. We love the original London Fields location, so we’re excited to see them opening in Stratford’s new museum. The menu will change seasonally and include breakfast buns, roast chicken baguettes, pastries, blondies, and more." - sinead cranna, rianne shlebak

E5 Bakehouse at V&A East Storehouse - Review - Stratford - London - The Infatuation

"The menu at E5 Bakehouse at the V&A East Storehouse—the Stratford outpost of the London Fields sourdough institution—changes seasonally and includes breakfast buns, roast chicken baguettes, pastries, blondies, and more. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Sinéad Cranna

Great concept. Huge buzz around this place. If viewing racks of antiques and historical pieces is your thing then yes.. Go. The technology proporting to educate and describe some selected pieces was glitchy and slow loading. The number of items that could be described was limited and really didn't work well. The concept was OK. The execution was rubbish. Maybe things will improve over time - it has not been opened long. Don't go expecting a V&A type of experience, it really is a sanitised working warehouse. There were interesting areas - where, during the week, you could see restoration taking place from viewing galleries. Also some videos in place of 'live action'. Very good. Restaurant. Very good shop - no country does museum shops like the UK in my experience.... We will extract the maximum cash from you but you will enjoy the process. The V&A are experts at this. So in summary - great concept - worth trying to reach this random part of east London.. Worth it for the experience - oh and it was / is free..

A unique experience. It is amazing to get into a museum storehouse. Don't think of it as a visit to a museum, it is more about visiting a warehouse full of amazing pieces. Not much to read, not thematic displays, it is mostly about looking at objects on shelves. But there are a few amazing corners with some kind of museum intentions: A Frank Lloyd Wright designed office, a German kitchen of the 1920s, an amazingly decorated ceiling or the facade of a state building. It's worth a visit. The entrance is free, and no booking is required.

First visit to the storehouse, great concept and some amazing pieces on display but it was way too busy to appreciate it comfortably. It’s a shame the textile cabinet near the cafe couldn’t have been put in a more accessible place - people overlook it and the ones that do want to view the pieces are squeezed by the crowds heading for the cafe. Better crowd control needed

This is probably one of the least known attractions here in London. Opened just in May 2025, it is more enjoyable than going to the main V&A because there is no formality and lots of discovery. One can be excused for knowing nothing and just go there to be wowed by basic history. Great place!

Absolutely amazing place! Innovative, daring and full of surprises. You have pieces side by side of a very different era. It really tickles your senses. There was a temple ceiling decorated in golden paint work and craftings. Everywhere you look is filled with surprises. Can’t wait till David Bowie Center is open in September. Need a few more visits to find my bearings…

This museum presents a distinct experience, showcasing a diverse collection of artwork from various nations. The architectural design, reminiscent of a warehouse, offers an intriguing backdrop for the exhibits. Given the current low visitor volume, ticket purchase is unnecessary. On-site museum guides are available to provide assistance. To ensure a comprehensive exploration, I recommend utilizing their expertise in navigating the galleries, as initial orientation may present a challenge.

An interesting visit if you are in the area. I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit again. Maybe if they change the exhibits - they may do in not sure. The building itself is so fun to walk around and you really get a bts feeling looking down the long corridors. Each of the things on display doesn’t have anything written about them unless you consult the site or the program. The scenes/ preserved spaces were the most interesting part imo.

Have been twice...the second time in order to see the new David Bowie centre. Incredible beyond words! A must visit when you're in London. Staff is always friendly and helpful.
