London’s New Restaurant Openings - London - The Infatuation

"Sourdough institution E5 Bakehouse is opening at the V&A East Storehouse. We love the original London Fields location, so we’re excited to see them opening in Stratford’s new museum. The menu will change seasonally and include breakfast buns, roast chicken baguettes, pastries, blondies, and more." - sinead cranna, rianne shlebak

E5 Bakehouse at V&A East Storehouse - Review - Stratford - London - The Infatuation

"The menu at E5 Bakehouse at the V&A East Storehouse—the Stratford outpost of the London Fields sourdough institution—changes seasonally and includes breakfast buns, roast chicken baguettes, pastries, blondies, and more. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Sinéad Cranna

I think you just love the place, simple as that. Yes it's not your traditional white cubes where arts are selected and curated apart to show you, instead it's a warehouse where you can explore with information provided at your own pace. We visited in Thursday evening which opens till 10pm. Not crowded and almost visit every corner. I wish the objects on display get rotated more often too and that more routes will be opened and connected to the public. The architecture is unpretentious on the outside, just a big warehouse, and the interior has been kept true, though with impressive height and volume to display arts and objects. Lots of items you get to touch and read and look at closely. I also wish the app could have AR enabled to introduce objects in a more organised and informed way.

The new V&A Storehouse is amazing. We were lucky enough to get tickets for the David Bowie Exhibition which we enjoyed very much. The storehouse itself is fabulous and you can request to see any object they have (notice is required) The building is spacious and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. It's a brilliant resource and truly worth a visit.

Visited on a Sunday morning, it was busy but you could still view everything. It's an incredible, innovative space full of surprises on display. The randomness of the displays are what makes it! It's warm due to climate control measures to protect the pieces on display and you are invited to leave your bags and coats in lockers downstairs. You can keep your phone on you. I feel so lucky to have something so daringly innovative on my doorstep, its an amazing place to spend a couple of hours. Best bit us you get to see into the conservators and technical specialists working areas, so often behind the scenes in most museums and galleries, but here you have a birds eye view. Can't wait to go back!

Great ! There are a few Bowie items in the general display if you are not able to get into the Bowie Archive. Fascinating if you use your imagination. Historical items from all time periods. Great for design research or pure general knowledge.

Unlike any museum you've previously visited, items are on display in the warehouse with very limited curation. There is a QR code which provides a limited description of some of the items, but it is not extensive. The most exciting thing is that you can book to see up to five items from the collection, if you make an appointment a minimum of two weeks before arrival. I've not tried this yet but will on my next visit. Coats and bags must be left in the free lockers provided. There is a small canteen but no gift shop.

This museum is truly one of a kind. Instead of traditional galleries, it gives visitors the rare opportunity to see artifacts while they are being restored or carefully stored, waiting to be loaned to exhibitions and museums around the world. Walking through the space feels like stepping behind the scenes of cultural heritage, where history is alive even in its moments of care and transition. It’s a fascinating experience—unique, educational, and unforgettable

Went to see David Bowie exhibition. Great stuff. Comforting to find he was a hoarder too! Then stumbled on the real treasure trove. Amazing place full of items. Shelves upon shelves of all sorts of things. Some covered up and some on display. Lots of old things from 1498 and times gone by. Many cupboards and tables that looked old. Nelson's writing table type of thing. Didn't have a catalogue so couldn't know for sure. But if you're going you'll need plenty of time to explore.

I love Hackney Wick. Having this Storehouse in the neighbourhood is a superb addition. It is like a warehouse, but has a wonderful way of presenting beautiful items and exhibits. A 21st version of the lock-up featured in Raiders of the Lost Ark. There is plenty of life in those old items. We, of course, we're there for David Bowie, however I will certainly be back for future visits.
