Vann Restaurant

We have gotten to try two menus from Vann and we have always loved our experience! The space is beautiful. If you have a specific menu item you want from their social media posts call in advance to check, as we went the day after a specific dish was posted and they weren’t offering it that day unfortunately. We usually get a bottle of wine to share, and we’ve also added an extra plate on À la cart if there was something we just had to try in addition to our chosen three courses! Definitely the only option like this in the area, great for a special date night.

2/6/22...what an incredible night, new menu just breathtaking...all dishes we had just simply saying delicious, full of flavors ...thank you chef Erik thank you Calvin! Absolutely phenomenal food and the service! Vann Restaurant team with the chef Erik did an excellent job. The food was absolutely amazing, service was very knowledgeable and involved, thanks Calvin! This restaurant is a definitely the place to visit . You can celebrate something special with friends and the family here. Vann is a very exquisite and very friendly place. The view of the lake helps a lot! Thank you all! P.S. you can put white tablecloths on the tables to make the restaurant even more special and very trendy.

We really enjoyed our dinner here! The staff were super friendly and it was a really cozy, intimate dinner. My only bummer is that I got sick in the middle of the night after eating here, not sure if it was the raw meat I ate or what. But I’m not going to hold that against them :) probably my weak stomach. But we really enjoyed ourselves.

My wife and I went to Vann’s to try a new place, and due to its amazing reviews. All comments made based on comparisons to similarly priced restaurants in the metro. We thought the restaurant itself is in an excellent location right across the street from the water. The server gave really great service and was very knowledgeable. The food was fairly underwhelming for the price (270 after tip, 2 beers, 2 n/a beverages) in comparison to similarly priced places across the Metro. The Octopus was very good, probably best dish we had. The sushi rice dish was light in flavor, although had a nice texture. The sea bass dish was average, again light in flavor, and surprisingly fishy. The mushroom dish was probably the only thing truly unique / new to us (Morel mushrooms), and was very good. Only 2 small food courses (per person) before dessert - which is why we ordered the cheese plate. The deserts were average to above average. Overall, the experience was definitely nice, but lacked a uniqueness and “wow-factor” that I would expect at this price point, not to mention the extremely low quantity (which would be fine if it had exceptional quality).

My boyfriend and I wanted to try a fun place to go out to eat for our anniversary that was fine dining but didn’t kill our budget. The quality of this food was absolutely phenomenal. The staff was great, the atmosphere was delightful, and the view from our table to the lake was beautiful! Would absolutely recommend! (The dessert was not pictured and was totally my favorite part of the experience)

Pleasant atmosphere and great food! We had been wanting to try it out for a while and finally did for our anniversary last weekend. I liked the cozy setting and generous space from other tables. The smoked Sturgeon and Veloute were amazing! If they are on the menu - get them. My husband didn't get as much of a horseradish flavor on the venison as he was hoping, but it was melt in your mouth texture and juicy. Dessert was lovely. Highly recommend!

Vann is a step above most other fine dining experiences near the twin cities. The unique flavors and perfectly cooked proteins garnished with edible flora not only adds vibrant color patterns to the well plated dishes, but also creates unexpected and subtle flavors you will find nowhere else. Bravo!

We went here for an anniversary dinner on Saturday. A nice little spot near the water. The food was presented beautifully, but in our opinion, was underwhelming in flavor. The scallops were served in a unique way, but the texture was a bit mushy and topping lacked additional flavor we were searching for. The squid broth was very good, but the dish over all had a very fishy taste. The squab was cooked perfectly, but we were again expecting more from the accompanying items on the plate. We were disappointed in the overall food quality and wouldn’t choose Vann if looking for a fine dining experience. There are far better choices in the metro area.

I'm sad that I didn't try Vann sooner! It was such a great meal and I love that they change their menu daily. My favorite courses were my main beef dish and the Dacquoise (my boyfriend's dessert). All of the courses were plated very nicely and tasted so fresh, everything was cooked perfect as well. The location is truly beautiful, the view of the lake is amazing especially during sunset. Honestly, the service was a little bit awkward, our server barely said a word which I'm not really used to. I'll miss Vann and will definitely be going anywhere that the chef opens up in the future!

While Chef Erik Skaar was a James Beard Finalist for Best Chef Midwest, I believe we will see him come out as top winner in the future. His changing daily menu ensures only the freshest ingredients are used delivering incredible tasty results! This is fine dining at its best. I don't think it matters what you order on the menu - everything will be beautifully presented and amazing tasting. My husband and I ordered different choices from each course, ensuring we could experience as much as possible. Our wonderful server. Kaitlyn, suggested the most perfect wine to accompany our meals. Vann delivers on all fronts: ambience, view, food, wine, presentation and service. Chef Erik even took time to come out to chat with the customers - a truly personal touch! Thank you, Vann, for an unforgettable experience! We will be back.

Best fine dining in Minnesota for sure! We did a Christmas Togo dinner and went back for dine in two weeks because the food was really a fine dining standard. I like Vann changes their menu frequently and has a lot of great ingredients from uni, to sturgeon, and Asian ingredients like yuzus! The restaurant has a lake view should be very beautiful in the summer, and the interior is a simple cozy setting. It's a bless there's finally a real fine dining in Minneapolis area and we definitely will go here so often! Only thing I wish is more food in the whole tasting 3 courses, we were still hungry after 3 course lol. Or i guess we could order 2 sets for each person lol

Delicious...I have been wanting to try out this place since it opened, especially since it has a bit of Norwegian flair. Finally ended up going last week and it didn't disappoint. The ambience and feel was comfortable and dressy. You can see the lake from inside. Dinner took a bit longer than a typical restaurant since there were three courses including an appetizer, main course, and dessert. The three course menu varies each night and is $65 regardless of what you order. The waitstaff let us know what you can always order extra items a la carte if you wish too. I went with my parents and partner and we all loved it. The portions were good for me on a normal day, but if you are hungrier, you may want to eat something small after or order additional food a la carte. I will most definitely be back.

Erik and team continue to do a phenomenal job! From the fresh rotating main menu and wine list to ensuring we are all safe from the current heath conditions (Covid-19). We continue to enjoy coming here for our 'escape'. A bit about the menu. Erik and team are all about small crafted food. Meaning, what is fresh and how they can present. This is NOT your typical big portion American fare. They run a lovely price fix menu with several options with a great wine list that pairs well with that weeks menu. Their menu always has starters, mains and dessert options. They do everything fresh in house. Not large manufactured desserts here. The staff knows how to communicate to the kitchen to keep the items flowing without anyone feeling rushed. They are not focused on their table turns like the big chains, but more about your experience. We believe they have a wonderful pace.

As of 2023, Vann is probably the best restaurant west of Hwy 100 in the Twin Cities. This is a proper (and light) fine dining experience with a more casual ambience. The food absolutely earns this place five stars and, given how far out this place is, the minor qualms I outline below don't lead me to deduct a star like they would in the city. I'm glad I finally tried it, I'd been planning to go since it was announced in 2019 -- then some stuff happened in 2020 (long story but you may have heard about it) -- and it took all these years later to finally make it out while simultaneously telling other people that there's a fine dining spot way out in the western half of Lake Minnetonka. Clearly things didn't let down in that time, Chef Erik Skaar was a James Beard Award Semifinalist in 2022. His background in fish at places like Guy Savoy and elsewhere comes out with any of the seafood options. The menu is a 3-course experience (plus amuse-bouche and mignardise) with optional cheese course addition. There are typically three options for the first two courses and a two options for the dessert course. The options we chose (and shared bites) were all excellent, not a single weak course. At first I was hesitant when the cheese option came out with only one cheese, but it was well selected and the flat bread with it was very well matched. The staff here is small, though they all know their stuff. It feels a bit like Tilia but less like Demi. The staff was professional in dealing with my table, but did not automatically explain every dish that was placed down and we had to ask a few times. They seem to have favorite patrons--other tables got more personable attention for whatever reason--that's the area that sets apart the truly top restaurants: fully understanding what the "hospitality" industry means--the best restaurants make everyone feel like they are the welcomed guest, that's not here and may dissuade some. The strongest critique I can give is an alcohol menu comprising only beer & wine. That feels like what you get at upscale faux-brasserie...this is nothing like that kind of restaurant. I can come up with reasons why they don't... cost of the license--perhaps because of how few staff there are, they operate lean and may not have the staff to do it? I'm not convincing myself with that because other spots manage to make it work with small staffs. Before 2020, I would've given the award for best restaurant west of Hwy 100 to Bellecour's first, glorious iteration (closed in the pandemic). That was then. It's 2023. I'm glad I made it out to Vann, I'm glad it survived, more people should give it a visit (...but if they moved to Wayzata I wouldn't mind!). I simply can't think of any better restaurant west of Highway 100, it would easily compete in downtown Minneapolis. We need more fine dining restaurants like it in the west metro, there is the support for them.

Every table at this great new spot on Lake Minnetonka has a lake view. They have renovated an old BBQ spot and the room is very well done. You can park in a garage behind the restaurant. The menu is divided into first, second and third (dessert) courses. They ask you to order the first two at the same time so they can pace your dinner. The menu changes weekly depending on what is seasonal. And they bring you an amuse bouche to start your meal. Ours was gruyere cheese puffs with a sea salt butter - delicious and an indicator of things to come. We ordered the squash soup and the frisee salad. The squash soup was excellent with horseradish, monkfish and a lemon oil. The frisee salad was served with an anchovy vinaigrette and gruyere cheese. So creative and delicious. For our second courses, we ordered two fish dishes. The seared Japanese corvina with couscous and almonds was perfectly cooked. And the roasted monkfish with a black truffle sauce and white asparagus, also so good. Really, whoever is creating and preparing these plates knows what they are doing! They have a great selection of wines by the glass. All of the wines are served in beautiful Spieglau glassware designed for the type of wine. Their wine program is really excellent. If you ask they will pair the wine with what you order. We did this and it was great. Don't skip the dessert. We had a chocolate ganache with a sorbet and cream. Amazing! Service here is friendly and knowledgeable. A great new place on the west side.

Came here with six of my friends and had a great time. They have a great wine menu but if you bring your own wine, they have a corking fee. I started with the endive salad. It was delicious. It had endives, orange, plums and a nice dressing. I had the mushroom entree which consisted of king trumpet mushroom, a poached duck egg, leek purée, broccolini, and a hollandaise sauce. It was delicious. A few of my friends had the scallops and it was perfectly browned and the bite I had was delicious. For dessert, I shared the Chocolate pudding that was accompanied with candied walnut, and raspberry sorbet. Overall, an amazing meal with friends. I'd recommend getting reservations because it's a small place and quite busy considering they just opened.

A chef left to his own devices, a rotating three course menu, excellent wine by the glass or bottle, and knowledgable servers. Some of these dishes just blew me away with flavor and creativity. The best soup I've ever had. It's a really fun experience, and the atmoshpere is very approachable and even a little casual. It all makes you feel right at home, cozied up with a decent view of the lake. Go!

Vann is one of the fanciest places I have ever been to! I went here with my parents to celebrate. The servings may look small in the photos but they are not. I left feeling full and very satisfied. The octopus was tender and very flavorful. The snow crab was not what I expected but delicious nonetheless. It was in an almost gelatinous flavor blast "sauce". I use sauce loosely as I am no professional food connoisseur and have no idea what to call it, but trust me when I say it's hard to pick between the snow crab and the octopus, so I got both! The salmon was cooked perfectly and was very filling. I have never had Gnuddi. It is comparable to gnocchi but is much lighter and has a saltier flavor because of the cheese. Lastly, the citrus curd was unbeatable. I have never had a citrus curd that I didn't instantly love!

This has got to be one of the best restaurants for foodies in the Twin Cities and it is outside my front door! The decor is sleek yet cozy, facing Spring Bay on Lake Minnetonka, the food is served in first/main/dessert prix fixe, and is rotated I think about monthly. There is attentive service, and a solid wine list worth a table wine or a splurge. I dined alone and felt welcome and appreciated, given a table with a great view! Free parking in back in a tuck under garage. Why go all the way to Minneapolis, a 5 star is right here.

This is an absolutely incredible experience! Erik and Calvin are geniuses!! Fun! Educational and absolutely a moving experience!! Please go and enjoy!! Unbelievable!

This is a truly fantastic dining experience. Try and find a Prix Fixe menu like this for $75. The wine list was also excellent. We had the Bonito Panna Cotta, Sea Bass, and chocolate tart as well as the Scallops, Squash Potage and Citrus Semi Freddo. Each dish was WOW. Service was friendly but not talky - very professional. We enjoyed the smaller venue and views of the lake. It was quaint and quiet but not too quiet. This was a date night my wife and I won't forget soon. We will go back again soon.

The best restaurant in Minnesota. Period. I have never used this app and made an account specifically because I was so blown away.

This was our first visit and we loved it. There were 6 of us and we tried everything on the menu between the 6 of us. It was all very tasty. The atmosphere was very nice and our waiter provided excellent customer service. We all said we would highly recommend it. They serve beer and wine but no hard alcohol. It is a great experience.

One of my favorite local places. Absolutely delicious food and service. The wine list is great and very reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit! You can tell so much thought it put into each dish and it shows.

This a hidden gem! Amazing culinary delights, great staff, and views. Chef Erick made my birthday dinner incredibly special! Do your due diligence and make a reservation...you won't regret it!

Was excited to try this place and food definitely looked pretty but we both left still very hungry. Tiny portions plus no cocktails (only beer/wine) makes it an easy decision to go elsewhere.

Had a fabulous dinner last night at Vann. It was our first visit but we will be back. The food was unique and delicious. The ambiance is intimate and comfortable. The staff was incredibly helpful. We were celebrating a birthday and they made the evening very memorable. I took a photo of our appetizer but once the meal started we forgot to grab any more photos. Great food...great experience!

Comically overpriced prix fixe three-course, tiny portions, understaffed and slow. Food was unexceptional. My hot main eventually arrived room temp.

Absolutely exquisite and a new favorite of ours. We came here on a whim for a long overdue date night after a brief Yelp search. The menu does rotate but we ordered the octopus, fluke, wagyu beef, blood orange dessert & chocolate ganache. Every dish was absolutely stunning in presentation and flavor. We were blown away! I ended up ordering the "mock tail of the moment" which was a jasmine kombucha and it was one of the best drinks I've had in a long time. The server informed us that she actually made it herself! Just every personal touch and thoughtfulness could be felt throughout the meal. Cannot WAIT to come back!!

I know, a 2 star review among all the wonderful 4-5 stars. Read on and judge for yourself, but in short the experience was of poor value and simple, unmemorable food. (I should qualify that I'm reviewing based on a special New Years 5 course tasting menu) First impression: the place looks more like a pop-up restaurant, with its drop-down ceiling not so cleverly disguised by swaths of fabric to the tables that the previous BBQ joint must have left. The staff was friendly and seem to be working as a team just like any other fine dining establishment. We were greeted with the advertised complimentary glass of champagne and a card with the price of the reserve and normal pairings. It's New Years Eve, so we all select the reserve at $75 a person. A while later we're presented with what we thought would be the usual amuse bouche to accompany our aperitif only to find out its the first course, and our champagne is actually the pairing. With a little Minnesota-nice grumbling we are each served a thimble more so we're able to swallow the cute little dry brioche next to a marble sized Quayle egg. Not a great start to the experience. The next course is the Hamachi. If you've seen the reviews and photos online you'd know why we're excited. What arrives isn't the thick buttery fish complimented by a "well-calibrated tango of acid and heat, tempered with bright blasts of ginger and the cool, rich finish of salmon roe". No, this is a couple thing slices with a couple dollops of Foie Gras. (why people still serve Foie is beyond me but that's for another day). Even so, this turns out to be the best course of the evening. I need to take an aside and mention the thimble of year old Oregon wine we are served as our first (oops, second) reserve pairing. One doesn't expect a full glass but the industry norm is "enough" which is probably double what they were pouring. We did notice the table next to us is getting a much more generous pour (though still too small) This thimble of wine theme continues through the rest of the meal and we quickly realize we shouldn't taste before the food arrives or we'll run out. The advertisement for the event said the champagne and wine would be flowing... from what, an eye dropper? What a sham. Surely you have seen the large three piece Octopus plate on all the online reviews so you know we're finally in for a plate to remember. (the plate was even a featured photo on their FB advertisement for the event). What arrives are 2-3 small pieces of tough, overdone Octopus with a little green smear as a compliment. We are now noticing the items we'd seen online have been replaced with plain and simple samplings with no real depth or accompaniment. How fun, one of the pieces of fabric comes down from the ceiling and lands on the tables to our left. We were not charged for the entertainment. Another thimble of wine, and now a thick piece of Wagyu. Its a good thing they gave us serrated knives as this was one tough gristly piece of meat. A grisly experience. The few good bites had good flavor but it was a shame this animal gave its life for this presentation. Dessert served with an even smaller portion of wine was a bit boring but actually a decent end to the menu. Salty chocolate with a mushroom ice cream gave us a hint at what could be for Vann. I've eaten at many places and not blinked at paying upwards of $500 pp for a meal, but at ~$250 pp this was not a value and could actually be the most disappointing tasting menu in quite a while. Such a disappointment as this is a local establishment that held a lot of promise based on the reviews. Not the exclamation point on a decade of great dining that we had been hoping. I have to wonder if the 4-5 star reviews really got a better experience, or if they felt forced into it by the amount they paid. Its a good thing there is a pizza place open on the way home as we left hungry and thirsty. We will not return.

Best restaurant in the metro. We keep coming back because I the creativity. The entire operation is top quality....fun

Great spot for a quiet Saturday date night! The menu is an adventurous eater's dream. The night we went there were 3 starters, 4 entree selections, and 3 dessert choices. To start, I had the Celeriac Soup and he had the Brussels Sprouts. Both were so good! For entrees, there were 3 fish selections and one Duck. I wanted the cod but it had sold out; I ended up with the Salmon and he chose the duck. The Salmon was perfectly cooked and presented with wild rice and Marcona almonds. It was quite good. He very much enjoyed the duck but did say it could have used a bit more salt. We split the chocolate ganache with the buckthorn sorbet. He really seemed to enjoy it. I didn't care for it; it was too cold and not chocolate enough for me. Still, a very nice presentation and good flavors. This is a lovely space with attentive service, inventive flavors, and beautiful plate presentations. Would love to come back when there is more light outside and we can see the lake from the window.

This is a special place that we recently found. The three course, price fix menu is creative and delicious. The food is excellent and changes every week and sometimes every day. The servers will pair wines with courses and have great suggestions.

Lovely meal and great service! The Octopus and Hamachi were as tasty as they were beautiful. Usually, pork is not a top pick, but the waiter highly recommended. It was exceptionally tender and seasoned perfectly. My only complaint was the chocolate dessert. The cold ice cream made the chocolate texture tough.. a bit like marzipan. The taste itself was on par, but the texture was really off.

I would consider myself a "foodie"; someone who seeks out novel and interesting foods, regardless of the cuisine, the location or the cost. Having eaten at Les Halles, French Laundry, Alinea and Minnesota's Demi, I feel compelled to include chef Erik Skaar and VANN in the mix. During a limited (COVID induced) seating experience, we enjoyed an exceptional meal, were treated by an attentive but not intrusive staff and were delighted to be able to enjoy Erik's fare. Four of us ate together, so we were able to experience everything on the prix fixe menu which included Hamanchi, Foie Gras, Wagyu beef, trout, halibut and two desserts. The staff did a great job of pairing our foods and wine throughout the evening and Chef was humble and engaging when he poked his head out of the kitchen. Previously we'd twice enjoyed their take out menu, one of roast chicken and the other a pork tenderloin, both of which I would return for either in house, or as a take and eat experience. If you enjoy great food, excellent staff and a novel environment, I'd encourage you to go here as it's well worth the adventure.

Seriously great restaurant. Every dish is just incredible. You will want to order everything on the menu, which they will happily let you do for an added cost. I've been to Michelin star restaurants in Italy and this is an easy match if not better. I've never seen such unique dishes and such a variety of ingredients used in new ways. On top of that the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is quiet and pleasant - classy but not pompous. I will definitely be returning.

Fantastic!! Just had the most amazing meal. The sturgeon was prepared perfectly and the dark chocolate mousse with kumquats was a perfect ending. Just go!

We ate at Vann last night and the dinner was nothing short of outstanding. Our waiter was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. His wine recommendations (a Prosecco and an Oregon Pinot Noir) were excellent. For starters we had squash soup with monkfish, rare hamachi tuna, and a frisee salad. Our entrees were duck confit and scallops. Everything from the appetizers to the desserts was artfully presented and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this little place on the lake!

We really wanted to love Vann. But it fell flat in so many ways. Worst is that we were hungry when we left (ever after my husband had two entrees - more on that). Our waiter was painfully awkward. We asked what was on a dish and he said "oh some roasted stuff." Ok. The octopus starter was good - we liked that. It took about 20 minutes to receive our entrees and both were luke warm. I ordered the halibut and received skate. When I brought this up to our waiter, he was very odd and said he was going to try and go and find halibut. 15 minutes later and he came back with halibut. Obviously, my husband was done eating his entree and skate entrée, too. The spice cake dessert was yummy. Chocolate torte was ok. Portions are very tiny (you get a small piece of meat or fish with some sauce - that's it). We are not big eaters, but left hungry and underwhelmed. We received an automated feedback form from Tock and shard our experience, but heard nothing back from the restaurant. For the price-point, we don't think it's worth it. Sorry to have had this experince!

This is a very tasty and high end place without being pretentious. Small but interesting 3 course menu priced a la carte. Everybody at our table seemed to really enjoy their meals and were commenting that usually you'd have to go downtown to get this level of quality. I enjoyed my meal a lot, heirloom beans, salmon, and a rich chocolate dessert, and would go back here in an instant. Kitchen looked super clean as well.

It's not often that you experience such mindful and passionate flavors! We have certainly found our "spot" and highly recommend Vann to anyone in search of a restaurant that provides beautiful complex flavors with a perfect atmosphere. We are excited for Vann to thrive in our neighborhood!

I went out to eat with friends as I had heard about this place from another friend. I am a foodie. I vacationed in certain parts of the world just for the food. No need to take a vacation this time, as I am only 2 1/2 hours away. While based on everything I read or heard I expected to have a great dining experience, I was blown away. Erik's food is world class!! The three courses were perfection on a plate! The flavors are amazing and complex. His menu is thoughtful. The service is relaxed to the perfect degree. I have eaten at many Michelin star restaurants and this is better than nearly all of them. It is rare for any restaurant to serve perfection for 3 or more courses, but Erik did it. Can't wait to return!!

Treat Yourself to a One of a Kind Experience If you are looking for a true dining experience do yourself a favor and book a table at Vann. The food is unique but not strange. The Chef takes the time to make each item special. Nothing is put on the plate that doesn't belong there. The plating is so good you almost feel guilty eating the food. However, that emotion is quickly replaced by the pure joy you feel once you taste the food. It's a weird sensation as none of the plates are overly large but you leave feeling completely satisfied, but not stuffed. Every dish we had was excellent. Definitely some you will like better than others. My recommendation is to bring a group of 4 or 6 so you can sample a little bit of everything. As a previous reviewer noted the Endive salad is tremendous and any fish you will find as good as any you've ever had. We didn't order any alcohol but the wine list is extensive and the staff extremely knowledgeable in terms of which wines pair best with your meal. The menu changes a little from week to week so be sure to check it out often. Hoping to go back when they have one of their special tasting menus.

Really enjoyed this nugget! Wait staff was delightful, meal was well prepped, portioned and presented! We highly recommend this little gem! Can't wait to return in the summer when we can look out upon the water and enjoy the scenery.

We really wanted to like this restaurant. There are not many choices for eclectic dining in this end of town. Unfortunately we found our whole meal to be extremely disappointing. The decor is underwhelmingly sparse. They seem to have taken the tact that "less is more", but in this case "less IS less". We were a party of four and with the extremely limited menu we each order different first and second courses only to discover we had ordered everything on the menu. Two of the first course we just salad but not very exciting or well done. The other two were the grilled octopus and the hamachi both were very well done. For our second courses I would say they were fine but nothing exceptional. One member that ordered the sirloin($50) and it was inedible. Tough, gristly, and over cooked. Our bill which did include one bottle of wine was almost $300. The consensus at the table was that Vann won't last. It is not worth a second chance and we doubt that the local community will support it for long.

Chef! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! We have not had a first rate restaurant in the western suburbs in many years (if ever). We have dined with you 4 times since you opened this summer, and have been impressed with your creativity, and perfect execution of the dishes you have presented. We leave with a smile and the tastes lingering in our mouths, recounting all our favorite dishes to each other on the way home. For those considering Vann.... Small restaurant, small menu, but you can close your eyes and pick anything on the menu and will be blown away....but, be sure to get the octopus. And, to go along with the great dishes, the staff is top notch. The Wine Som, is fantastic... She really knows her S---!

I had dinner at this unique new restaurant with a friend while visiting in Minnesota this past weekend and really enjoyed an exceptional experience! It looked like quite an unassuming restaurant when we pulled up but Vann is anything but! We were immediately greeted by the friendly staff and seated with a picture perfect view of Lake Minnetonka just across the street. The ambiance in the dining room was very warm and pleasant and the service was outstanding. When we first arrived the background music was a little too loud but as the dining room filled up, it was fine. The menu is small but the choices were all intriguing and everything is fresh made. We shared a grilled savoy cabbage salad that was exceptional. The grilled cabbage was slightly softened but still with a crunchy texture and smartly dressed with gruyere, sunflower seeds and dill. I've never had sturgeon before and was so glad I tried the smoked sturgeon with white asparagus. The white fish was velvety in texture with a mild earthy flavor. The bright green sauce was remarkably good and a perfect complement to the fish. Dessert was an incredible chocolate ganache with brown butter and a rich and creamy anglaise and topped with a strong and fruity sea buckthorn sorbet. The fruity orange/apricot sorbet flavor was a sharp contrast to the chocolate and was perfect. The food at Vann is exceptional with many layers and intriguing flavors. Make no mistake, this is a fine dining restaurant in a charming lakeside location. I highly recommend Vann and suggest folks try it soon. It won't be long before you'll have to wait weeks to get a reservation! It was that good.

We've been meaning to try this since it opened and we're there tonight on their 1 year birthday, which they celebrated by pouring us all a glass of sparkling rose (Nice touch). The food was, simply put, incredible. Prix Fixe 3 course menu tonight with 2-3 options for each course. Everything sounded so good, I literally didn't know what I was going to order until the words came out of my mouth. Had a starter of cured Hamachi, a Berkshire pork chop and honey Yuzu parfait and all were stunning. As much as I enjoyed my meal (which I thoroughly loved), I was simultaneously envying the other entrees at the table (Foie Gras appetizer, Salmon and Scallop dishes) being enjoyed by my wife and friends. I did get a taste of a scallop, which was delicious as well. Nobody else was in a sharing mood as well all were locked in our choices. Chef Erik is incredibly talented and has a wonderful front of house staff. As I said to my wife driving home, if we lived closer, I'd eat here at least once a week. In fact, as it's only 20 minutes away, I still might.

Had dinner there last night and still dreaming of the food . Every dish was unique and yummy . Portions were perfect and service was wonderful . Don't wait to try this great restaurant ! Worth the drive . Can't wait to return .

This was our first time here after Tonka BBQ closed down in that location. Lake Mtka area really needs some more dining options so hope they make it. However for the price, the food was just 'ok'. They do have a great, unique wine list and our server was awesome & knowledgeable. They need to work on the ambiance of the place a bit as well. It was wide open and cold. We didn't have tables cloths and it was like they just put 8-10 tables in an open room randomly. Great wine, great service, ok food but pricey with the need to improve ambiance quite a bit.

Vann is awesome. Last night had the best meal in months with them. Hamachi, snapper, halibut, Waygu bavette, and chocolate torte - all top notch. Make the short drive for a great night!

My wife and I dined at Vann restaurant on 3/11/21 and it was the best experience we have ever had here in the Twin Cities! I had the octopus appetizer and it was unbelievable and we both had the Waygu beef entree and it was the most delicious and tender cut of meat we've ever eaten! Can't wait to return to our new favorite restaurant!

Dined at Vann celebrating a birthday last evening, and were delighted with the entire experience. I had the octopus, scallops and the chocolate option for dessert and my guest has the tartar, sea bass and tart for dessert. We paired all of this with a nice bottle of Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley vintner Trisaetum. Chef executed each dish beautifully, portioned and presented them well, and we were well cared for by very attentive and approachable servers. I hope more people find this space (but not too many as I still want to be able to get in), as it truly is a little gem in the western burbs and worth the trip from anywhere in the metro.

Our first time in tonight. Wow, the food was fantastic, the service impeccable! Can't wait to go back.
