"If you’re looking for a restaurant with an authentic maritime flavour, this eatery overlooking the small yet attractive port of Mikrolimano will come as a pleasant surprise. Here, the relaxing ambience is in perfect harmony with superb views of the fishing boats moored out front. Traditionally, Piraeus is known as the port of Athens, hence the plethora of tavernas and restaurants specialising in fish and seafood located here. Varoulko Seaside follows the same influence, although chef Lefteris Lazarou takes his maritime cuisine to another level. On our final evening, we almost canceled our reservation, we were tired from a full trip and tempted to simply call it a night. Thankfully, we didn’t. What awaited us was, without question, the finest meal of our entire vacation. Every course felt thoughtfully crafted, with flavors that lingered and a presentation that elevated the experience beyond a simple dinner. Choosing the tasting menu was the best decision we could have made; it transformed the evening into something truly memorable and left us wishing we had discovered this place sooner.

Exceptional Seafood Experience – Refined, Peaceful, and Memorable Dining at Varoulko was a true pleasure. The food was incredibly fresh, with innovative and well-executed dishes that really highlight the quality of the ingredients. Every course was a delightful surprise – creative without being overcomplicated. The service was excellent: attentive, professional, and warm without being intrusive. You really feel taken care of. The ambiance is another strong point. The view is beautiful, and even when the restaurant is full, there’s a sense of calm and privacy. You can have a proper conversation without shouting, which is becoming rare these days. It’s elegant and peaceful, the kind of place where you can truly relax and enjoy a special meal. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a refined seafood experience in Athens.

The atmosphere was truly beautiful — elegant yet welcoming — and the restaurant offered a lovely spot for dinner, with a charming view of the harbor. However, I would rate the service 4 out of 5 stars. While everything was pleasant, I expected a bit more attention to detail and a touch more finesse, especially from a Michelin-starred restaurant. The food was good, but it fell just short of the exceptional experience I was hoping for.

All seafood menu, no meats. The food, service, wine, location and ambiance were all excellent. Knowledgable sommelier and waiter, perfect background music, great view over the harbour. Elevator available. A bit pricey but it’s costly to provide this level of quality and it’s worth every penny. Thanks to all for the experience.

Outstanding food experience with an amazing view. From the service to the food on our plates, everything was perfect. The attention to detail was impressive, and the staff was incredibly kind, explaining everything thoroughly. The flavors were out of this world. A must-visit!

Varoulko Seaside Restaurant, a restaurant with an authentic maritime flavour. It was the first fine dining restaurant in the city to serve an exclusively seafood menu and the first restaurant to be awarded a Mechlin star. Fresh seafood is what you would expect here. You can see the effort made in creativity and presentation without compromising the substance. And they charge for bread 🍞! Desserts were exceptional.
