The Best Italian Restaurants in Bucks County | Eater Philly

"Family recipes fill the menu at Vecchia Osteria in Newtown where dishes such as eggplant alla parmigiana, pollo cacciatore, and gnocchi gorgonzola provide plentiful entree options for diners to choose their favorite one. But don’t order your entree immediately when you get to your table — take time to savor some antipasti offerings, including the caprese, clams casino, and calamari. For the grand finale, try the limoncello cake or chocolate chip cannoli — or order both if you can’t decide on just one." - Kristen Kwiatkowski

We held our daughters wedding shower here and Vecchia Osteria was no doubt the perfect venue choice! We needed to make some last minute adjustments to our set up and they could not have done a better job accommodating our needs. Our private area was very nice and beautifully decorated. The service was second to none and the food was outstanding!! Well done Vecchia Osteria and a special shout out to number V & number IV for their exemplary hospitality!!! If you're thinking of holding your private event here, do not hesitate, you will not be disappointed!

After weeks of newborn snuggles, sleepless nights, and adjusting to our new normal, my husband and I finally had our first night out. My best friend had recommended this spot & we couldn’t have been more happy. From the moment I called to make the reservation to the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a calming, cozy atmosphere that instantly made us feel at ease. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and cared for, which meant the world to two new parents finally catching their breath. The food was absolutely incredible & authentic! The ambience was everything we didn’t know we needed. The soft string lighting outdoor, inviting décor, and just the right amount of buzz to make us feel part of something special without being overwhelmed. It was the perfect mix of elegance and comfort. Our waiter was a twin brother (I won’t butcher the spelling of his name) was phenomenal, he was attentive, personable and very professional! This experience truly refueled us. We left feeling full, grateful, and even more connected. We were able to connect with a family who are regulars here & they shared their delicious orangecello. We’ll always remember this evening as our first step back into the world—and we’re so glad it was here.

We had a get together here following a funeral and Vecchia Osteria was the perfect place for it. The owner had the side room near the outdoor patio set up beautifully to accommodate our large group. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the service was consistently attentive. Staff came out frequently to refill drinks, bring new courses, and check on us throughout the meal. We started with fresh Caesar salads, warm bread, and bottles of wine. The oil and seasonings on the table made for a perfect dipping mix. From there, the food just kept coming. Eggplant rollatini was served in delicate spirals, the crab-stuffed pasta was rich and flavorful, and the rotini in vodka sauce was absolutely amazing. I couldn't get enough of it and ended up forgetting to grab a picture. We finished with coffee and a unique almond tiramisu that had a really nice nutty flavor. Every part of the meal was fresh, delicious, and made with care. Vecchia Osteria made a hard day feel comforting. Thank you to the staff and owner for a truly wonderful meal and experience.

Little too crowded for me. But food worth it!! Fresh authentic and delicious. Plates well served plenty of food. Great place for especial occasions. Excellent service!! Highly recommended. (Leave space for desserts )

Google
Typical Italian osteria. Cozy interior and warm, friendly service. The homemade pastas and gnocchi are a must-try! We tried six different dishes—three appetizers, two entrées, and one dessert (the cannoli was to die for!). While most of the food was delicious, I think the clams and the eggplant Parmesan could use some improvement. Overall, a lovely dining experience with a charming atmosphere. Would definitely come back!

As a transplanted New Yorker, I'm always chasing the elusive great Italian spot outside the Philly city limits. With a 4.7-star average, Vecchia Osteria by Pasquale had me hopeful—could this be the holy grail? Sadly, no. The pros: The outdoor patio was lovely on a pleasant evening, and the ambiance—though bustling—had charm. The service was extremely slow, which might be a plus for a leisurely Saturday dinner date, but with a kid in tow, it definitely tested our patience. On the bright side, the staff was super friendly and welcoming. The eggplant parm? Very good. And I appreciated how accommodating they were with my son’s off-menu request for buttered spaghetti and shrimp—big points for that. The cons: To start, the bread was served cold—and with no oil or pepper. Really? Isn’t that Italian 101? The caprese salad was underwhelming. As you can see from the photo, it featured a lonely basil leaf and tomatoes that lacked punch—no vibrant, juicy flavor you'd hope for. The Pollo Donatella was a letdown: rubbery chicken and a white wine sauce that added little to no flavor. For a dish that reads so rich on the menu, it just fell flat. Overall, a mixed bag. Some highlights, but not enough to justify the hype—especially if you’re venturing out with high hopes. won't be worth a second try, but I left disappointed.

I went here today for Father’s Day lunch and it was also my first time here. Our sever, Alex was fantastic, knowledgeable, and attentive. He explained the menu thoroughly and made sure we had what we needed and that everything was good, which I thought it was perfect. There was also another waiter (didn’t get her name) that also tended to us and she was amazing. The staff is kind and welcoming and the food is delicious. The decorations are beautiful. It’s small but both inside and out are beautiful and well decorated. I cannot wait to be back! Keep up the great work!! *Update* I came back for the second time today and we were served by a young man, (didn’t catch his name, he had dark curly hair) and he was also very amazing and attentive! The food was just as perfect as it was last time and both experiences were memorable and amazing! Your staff is the absolute best and also angels! I will definitely keep coming back!:)

Melissa greeted our table with an easy confidence that set the tone for the evening, her smile was steady and genuine, and she made sure our drinks never ran low and our questions were always answered. She juggled the bustle of the restaurant effortlessly, striking just the right balance between attentiveness and giving us space. When our food arrived promptly and piping hot, it was clear she cared about timing and quality. Another guest noted the food “came out within 10 minutes” and praised how refreshingly friendly and efficient she was. By the end of the night, Melissa had quietly orchestrated a seamless meal that felt both personal and polished, earning praise not just from our family, but from everyone who had the good fortune to sit in her section. I love the environment and the food is great, I highly recommend visiting.

Yelp
Vecchia Osteria hosted a party for us on Friday nigh. it was wonderful.. all my guests commented about the delicious food and courteous service. it was plentiful and amazing Creacenzo was the cook and his food was cooked to perfection. Anello and Giovanni were our servers. they were attentive and friendly. the entire experience was unforgettable. can't wait to go back and eat again. we were outside, it felt like we were under the Tuscan skies.

Yelp
Vecchia Osteria has the best Italian food in the area. We've been on three different occasions, but I've sadly never captured any photos. The calamari is a must-order--not greasy at all and incredibly flavorful! All of the pastas I've tried are also great. The service can be slow when busy, but the quality of service makes up for a slow speed. FYI- The restaurant is BYOB.

Yelp
This is a great place to go. It is so reminiscent of Italy and it's very authentic food. My partner was very happy with the Bronzino and I heard that's a very popular dish Service is very good

Yelp
Haven't been here in awhile and was glad to see it was still packed on a Saturday night but still didn't have to wait long for our table. The room we were in, for the most part, had tables for big parties - 8 to 10 people at each and they were full. The wait for our dinner was also very reasonable. The Fried Calamari was a little disappointing this time around - although good it was on the dry-side. The Spaghetti Carbonara was as good as I had remembered it and was again my favorite of all the entrees. The Squid Ink Ravioli with Shrimp was a very very good evening special. The Spaghetti and Meatball entree was good. The menu is large but not overwhelming and we look forward to coming back again soon to try something besides pasta. BYO makes it a nice choice too.

Melissa ..

Yelp
Great food for a fair price. We were a party of 6 and everyone enjoyed their meals. I routinely visit the establishment every 6 wks or so and they never disappoint

Yelp
I came here with a big group to celebrate my birthday. The first two things that stand out are the service and the decor! We had the best time in the big room in the back, but every single corner of this place is full of charm and transports you to Italy. Although the menu had so much to choose from, I went with the Fusilli alla Polpa Di Granchio Pasta as a suggestion from our server. It is a plate full of pasta with jumbo lump crabmeat, onions, cherry tomatoes, and a touch of hot pepper in a light pink cream sauce. Although the plate was very tasty, it felt like all the ingredients were blended and put on the pasta. If you want something a little lighter, this could be your choice for a meal. Regardless of your meal, the restaurant was set up so nicely that you got to know your neighboring tables so well. We ended up having a fun conversation and everyone sang Happy Birthday together. And the icing on the cake is that it's BYOB, so you can leave with all the wine in you to make you think you are Italian.

Yelp
Vecchia Osteria was AMAZING! We went for Mother's Day and felt like we were apart of the family! From the apps to the desserts we were guided by our amazing server who joyfully walked us through the menu! The food was DELICIOUS and the decor was so cute and homey! We also happened to stumble upon the owners on our way out who doubled down on all the hospitality we were greeted with inside! An all around great experience, every bite will leave you wanted more!!

Yelp
I am a lover of Italian. I enjoy pretty much any Italian dish and revel in finding a new spot I had yet to discover. This past Sunday, we checked out Osteria. Tucked in the back of parking lot the tiny eatery offers indoor and outdoor dining. The staff warm an inviting. Despite my server reminding me of the villain in the current book I am reading; his service was on point. The meals were served hot and promptly, but lacked the umph that we were expecting. They fell above Olive Garden (thankfully) but couldn't reach the bar of Carlucci's The pasta did taste hand made (a plus) but the flavors of the sauces and the skimping on the cheese on the parmigiana were disappointing. Lots of salt. Chef is quite liberal with salting everything thoroughly. I do enjoy having a salad option with meal and of course bread is a must when eating Italian, but none was not offered. We were full, as the servings are plentiful - but sadly left no room for dessert. Vecchia is BYOB, but as others sat around us, it seemed as though "complementary" house wine was provided if asked. (Perhaps perks of being a regular) Would I return, perhaps, but also so many places to try it may be some time before we make it back.

Yelp
My group had major sticker shock at lunch today. While everything on the menu was between $14-20, apparently the specials were absurdly priced. My ciopiini was $48, probably $15 worth of ingredients. My friend's bronzino was $40 and arrived 20 minutes later than the rest of our group. When I mentioned this to the owner, her response was that I should have asked for the price! That is unacceptable. I think the waitress should have mentioned it when she described the choices. Nobody wants to look cheap by passing on a selection due to the price. I think my friend's bronzino should have been comped and I think the owner should have offered a gift certificate.

Yelp
First time here and we got the pasta fagioli, eggplant rollatini, clams casino, rigatoni vodka, ravioli, and lemoncello cake. The pasta fagioli was the best I've ever had, must try if you visit. Other stand out was the eggplant rollatini and the lemoncello cake, I'm usually a chocolate fan but this limoncello cake changed my mind! I got the rigatoni vodka and the past was cooked perfectly as well as the sauce, was not too overpowering. Felt like you were in Italy with the ambiance, very welcoming. Service was 10/10! Waiter was helpful and made great recommendations. In addition, we were served very fast! Will definitely become a staple place

Yelp
Food is always fresh and appealing. Service is friendly and attentive. Ambiance is especially nice outside on the patio when weather is warm. Can get a little loud inside with all of the tile surfaces. With so many restaurant choices in Newtown, this is a favorite.
google avatar

Yelp
If you are like me and grew up in an Italian household where grandma made Sunday sauce or maybe you are looking for some good homemade sauce but don't have the time to make it yourself - I found the next best. If you are in the Newtown, Bucks County, Pa area the place to go and get your jar of homemade sauce is at Pasquale's Vecchia Osteria or his Aqua e Farina, both on Richboro Road in Newtown. Pasquale's food and sauce has always been raved about - whether the Chicken Parm or a good pasta dish - the sauce is everything. He has now jarred his recipe and sells it in his restaurants. You don't have to believe me, but believe your taste buds.... Have a meal first, fall in love with the sauce & then get some while heading out the door... You will come back for more.... Ciao my friends.

Yelp
Came across this place after spending the afternoon with my 4-yr old in the area. Moved here from a big city so still exploring areas around us. I haven't heard of this place but it looked rather homey, so we came in. The restaurant is beautiful! We were greeted by a nice hostess and seated immediately. The place seems family owned, small but purposeful. The wait staff was wonderful, gave us recommendations (food can be a hit or miss for a 4 yr old) and we ordered. I have to say, it's been a long time since I had some excellent excellent Italian food. Their pastas were well cooked, their sauces were creamy and delicious. After the first bite, I went to Yelp and realized this is one of the top rated family owned Italian restaurants in the area. And we'll-deserved! I've already been back... for my birthday. Brought my father (who can be a bit picky himself) and he really enjoyed the food and service. Even my leftovers didn't last the night as I had some family stop by later and they ate it all up! This will be a restaurant we frequent for family occasions or just to sit and have a great meal. I look forward to returning again.

Yelp
Went in shortly after they opened on Monday as a party of two and we were the first customers there. Beautiful place, the decor is so beautiful with a lemon theme and shades of blue. Our server was very friendly and social, explaining everything perfectly and telling us stories. The food was absolutely incredible -- the pollo ai limone with pasta was tangy but not overwhelming, and my friend loved the salmon. The cannolis were to die for, just incredible. I'll definitely be coming back many times, this might be my new favorite Italian spot.

Cesar G.

Yelp
We really enjoyed the calamari fritti and thought the roasted jalapenos were a great added touch. Being a gnocchi-lover, my girlfriend really enjoyed the gorgonzola. The manager offered us a carrot dish to mix with the house bread, which was delicious. The veal donatella came with crabmeat side that I really enjoyed. Happy we made a reservation as it was starting to get packed for dinner.

Yelp
This is a family owned restaurant that stands behind its service & food. Everyone and everything was great. Looking forward to taking my family back again.

Yelp
Very hit or miss. No one writes your order down, so it's hit or miss if you get everything or not. I ordered the Orecchiette with broccoli rabe and sausage and it was terrible. It's one of my faves so I've had so much better. My brother had a special with pasta pockets with Gorgonzola and pear with Gorgonzola sauce. It was good. My Aunt had a seafood special with linguini and there was barely any pasta in the plate m. A huge platter of shells. This was not my first time at Vecchia Osteria, but I will definitely fuhgeddaboudit in the future.

Kaushal P.

Yelp
If you're craving genuine Italian flavors, this place is a must-visit! Plus, the portion sizes were very satisfying--great value for the quality. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Celebrating day 3 of Heather's Birthday, only another 47 days to go.... We enjoyed our Favorite restaurant where the food and service are always Amazing...Thank you Nancy and Crescenzo for always making us feel like family enjoying our dinner in our own home. My lady had the Pollo Sorrentine and I indulged in one of the specials of the evening, Vitello Rolitini... both of our meals were spectacular and of course we had to start off with our go to Caesar salad and Clams Casino... we finished off with Nancy bringing out her mother's Almond Tiramisu for Heather 's birthday celebration song. God how it must feel to be 21 again.. Happy birthday again Baby, Love You

Yelp
I love this restaurant! They have the best Italian food this side of South Phila! Excellent & cordial service, some inventive entrees & specials, & everything is fresh & homemade. The chef/owner usually walks through the restaurant to make sure his diners are happy with their selections. One of my favorite dishes was always pasta with vodka sauce & lump crabmeat. This is a BYOB, so the cost of dinner remains reasonable. The interior is small & intimate & there's a wall of windows that's nice in the warmer weather, though it can get a little cold in winter. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Had a graduation dinner today and Was excellent! The server (Liam) was awesome as well as the rest of the staff there. Great family environment and food was authentic! Been there several times and will be back soon!

Yelp
I want to give 4 stars, however, the waitress forgot to provide the evening specials. We ordered then overheard another table seated to our left reviewing 4 evening specials with the same waitress. I would have ordered the NY strip dinner however by this time our meals were already fired. The calamari Frito app was plentiful, however undercooked and saturated with olive oil, likely the oil temperature was too low. The complementary bread was cold as well. The veal and clam entrees were very good and one of the service staff even offered to escort my daughter to the restroom so my wife and I could finish eating. Overall I will return, hoping for a better overall experience next time.

Yelp
This place seemed like the best option in the area as I tried to plan from FL. After reading reviews and even watching their episode on HBO I decided this was the place. Their portions were huge and it definitely had that close family feel. The little blue cheese pursette dish- cannot remember the name- wasn't on the menu but they still offered it and it was by far the best thing I had all weekend while in town. Everyone at the table that tried it felt it was the best dish.

Yelp
We hosted a family dinner here on our last night in Bucks County. It was a warm November evening, and we had a table in the garden and a very nice cena. The appetizers we ordered were ... EGGPLANT ROLLATINI (5/5) -- This was one of the best dishes of the evening.  The rolled eggplant, ricotta, and prosciutto was baked perfectly under marinara sauce and mozzarella. CALAMARI FRITTI (5/5) -- The calamari was battered and fried flawlessly -- some of the best fried calamari I've ever had. LONG HOT PEPPERS (4/5) -- These peppers were stuffed with fresh mozzarella, wrapped with prosciutto di parma, and lightly pan fried -- crispy and hot!  Very good. Our entrées included: FUSILLI ALLA POLPA DU GRANCHIO (2/5) -- My wife ordered hers with linguine rather than fusilli, which is how we make pasta with crab sauce at home.  This dish itself suffered in a number of ways, not the least of which was cheese in the sauce RAVIOLI DI MAMMA (4/5) -- The house-made ricotta-filled ravioli were delicious, servered in a light pink cream sauce. GNOCCHI GORGONZOLA (4/5) -- Good potato gnocchi are hard to find in restaurants. The house-made gnocchi are very nice at this family-owned and operated restaurant. This dish has a delicious gorgonzola cream sauce. Two veal dishes stole the show: VITELLO DONATELLA (5/5) -- The veal cutlets were topped with roasted red peppers, crabmeat, and fresh mozzarella, served in a white wine sauce. VITELLO SALTIMBOCA (4/5) -- Veal Saltimboca is one of my all-time favorite Italian dishes -- veal topped with thinly sliced prosciutto di parma, and fresh mozzarella.  Here it was offered with spinach and served in a white wine sauce. I asked for broccoli rabe instead of the spinach, which was very good.  My veal was overcooked, which was a disappointment with an otherwise excellent dish. The vegetable of the day accompanying the veal dishes was ROASTED POTATOES (4/5). Service was very good but uneven.  It could have been more attentive. Food . . . . .  4/5 Service . . .  4/5 Ambiance . 4/5 Wine List . . BYOB

Yelp
Having dined at a couple of hundred restaurants all over the country, Vecchia Osteria is probably the most customer friendly and attentive staff of all. Our server Diana was fantastic and co-owner Gennaro expressed his sincere appreciation for our patronage. On to the food. Being an avid cook and as previously mentioned, I appreciate good food. The Sacchettini (Pasta purses) filled with a pear and ricotta filling in a Gorgonzola sauce were amazing. The clams casino were a bit small but the flavor was wonderful. My wife is a conasoure on eggplant rollatini and was impressed with the quality and flavors. Her veal parmigiana was very tender and the portion was huge. My seafood fettuccini with a full lobster tail, mussles, clams and shrimp was unbelievable. Both deserts were very good. This place is a gem that we only recently discovered and can't wait to go back. Kudos to the owners for setting the high standards for both their staff and food.

Yelp
This place reminded me of an Italian restaurant that I've seen on TV show. The place had pictures of the family and friends who visited the restaurant. The tables are spaced enough for you to move about the restaurant. The food we'll I'm giving it 5 stars and 5 thumbs up . We will visit it again so we can see brother #V again.
google avatar

Stan H.

Yelp
I had a dish of pink wine sauce with seafood and it was utterly delicious of flavor and quality seemed fresh- particularly the pasta. Several servers were impeccable with asking and telling us about (too many) specials and making sure we had enough water. Amaretto tiramisu was amazing with flavor and fluffy sweet texture. Specials would ideally be printed out on a separate mini menu or do a QR code if you can or place on website if not too difficult. Romantic setting or family friendly. Family run and they do a superb job. Contributes to make this community and area a more homier feel.

Yelp
Great authentic Italian Food and even better service! Everyone is welcoming and accommodating. Will be coming back here again as soon as I can!

Yelp
This restaurant is by far one of our favorite restaurants!! 10 stars!! The food was excellent. The service was extraordinary. The ambience was to die for!!!

Martin S.

Yelp
Dined here several times with family. First time was fine though didn't like the idea of Italian dishes like chicken parm or eggplant parm is served with the vegetabl of the day typically carrots or potato's. eggplant parm with potatoes - not normal forcing you to pay $8. more for a small side of pasta. Flavor also not great as it dont appear their frying in olive oil. Service is just ok and ambiance is very nice however I don't plan on returning.

Yelp
Always great service and excellent food. Beautiful family owned restaurant in Newtown. My favorite restaurant in Bucks county.

Yelp
Everything from start to finish was fabulous!! We throughly enjoyed our food! Our service was great as well! We had the special appetizer which was zucchini flowers breaded. My 100% Italian grandmother raved about them. We had the calamari..delicious! Our entrees were amazing as well. Highly recommend the Fusilli alla Polpa Di Granchio!!! Can't wait to come back!

Nasmie M.

Yelp
I got the Mediterranean salad. It was amazing! Service was great ambience was impeccable. Highly recommend!

Yelp
What a disappointment:( They squeeze people into this restaurant like sardines. It was horrific! The noise volume was like nothing I have ever experienced in a restaurant. It as if we were at a concert. There were no conversations going on at our table because we couldn't scream above the noise volume. We were forced to speak to the person next to us. I rate the decor 2, food 6, and the service at a 1!! The service was atrocious. We asked for a napkin several times and they never offered us nonalcoholic drinks with our meals. My bfs water had many dirty floaters in it. We were placed in a tent outside. It was drafty. Our table was a plastic picnic table that had paint stains on it. At least they covered this trashy table with a lemon stamped walmart plastic tablecovering. I felt as if these tables should've been in some back alley dupster in South Philadelphia. No kidding that these tables were used by someone painting a room somewhere. I had no idea of this until my boyfriend lifted the table covering up, and we saw the paint smears all over the place. We were a party of at least 10 down to earth people that all agreed it was a terrible experience. We will never go back again. A birthday I will never forget unfortunately

Yelp
Hidden gem in Newtown pa! Byob is a nice plus! From start to finish the meal was fabulous! Service was great and the staff was very attentive. I have gone again since these photos to enjoy my new restaurant find! Pasta was so delicious and couldn't wait to eat the left overs the next day!

Yelp
We had an enjoyable evening at this lovely Italian byob. The interior is cute and bright, featuring a lemon theme. The staff were all quite welcoming and solicitous and Our requests were taken care of promptly. The standout in our meal was the perfectly prepared branzino. Moist, well seasoned and just.....*chef's kiss*. It was filleted backstage and we did find a few overlooked bones. We also enjoyed the pasta granchia, tilapia Al limone and pear, walnut salad. The fried calamari was good when you got the perfect bite of it along with the seasoned pepper. Skip the marinara, IMO. The outdoor seating looks like it would make for an even lovelier dining experience, in the spring/summer. All in all, well worth a visit for a relaxing evening out.

Yelp
Probably the best veal I've ever had. Liam, our server was on the ball. Friendly, courteous, and timely. The ambience was great, and my Italian girlfriend raved about the food.

Ernie H.

Yelp
We've been to this place a few times and every time has been great. The food is outstanding. In our most recent visit our server, Stephanie, was wonderful. She offerred great suggestions. The service is very good despite the place being packed. In addition since it's a BYOB you're not paying some crazy overpriced amount for drinks. We had oine of the specials, a pork based Ragu that was excellent. Really can't say enough good things about Vecchia Osteria. Ernie H

Yelp
Man oh man where to even start? Perhaps I have too much to say. What I can say is that this place lives up to the reviews. The service is impeccable and our waiter made sure to make us feel like we were a guest in his own home. The food you may ask? Well let me tell you this is by far the best Italian food I've had in a very long time. It might even be better than the Italian that can be found in Boston's North End. Come and try this place for a nice dinner. You won't be disappointed!

Pammie P.

Yelp
The food here is pretty good, but not great at all. I'm an Italian-American who still makes my own Sunday gravy, grew up around Arthur Ave in the Bronx and have dined in Italy. I know great Italian food. So, my spouse had mussels as an appetizer. He said they were decent. For his entree, he had spaghetti carborona, which was very good. I had the caprese salad, which tasted fresh but needed some dressing, as it was pretty bland. The veal parmesan was tasty and the meat tender, but although the plate was smoking, the food was not hot enough. Servings are large, so we each took half of our meal home and will enjoy heating it to the right temperature tomorrow. Unfortunately, the service here leaves much to be desired. I want to feel welcomed and paid attention to at a restaurant that's not a fast food joint. We were seated, given menus, and water. Then we waited almost 20 mins to have our waiter ask for our orders. The "on-the-house" fried carrots were nice, but then we were sitting there waiting for nearly half an hour for our appetizers, without even a bread basket set at our table. One of my forks had dried food on it. I set is aside and didn't use it as I didn't need it, but still...a dirty fork? We finally asked for bread ourselves when the salads came; later we asked our waiter for more bread with the entrees, and it never did arrived. Our water glasses were not refilled once... until we done eating. Our waiter rarely came by to see how we were doing. Since there are so many really good Italian restaurants in Bucks County and in nearby NJ, I doubt we'll be returning here.

Yelp
Reminded me of the small rustic restaurants in Italy. Friendly staff. The owner was very nice and down to earth. Generous with the wine. The marinated carrot appetizer given for free tasted like a lovely mix of olive oil, garlic and parsley. Refreshing. Bread was soft and had the crunchy exterior. Perfect for soaking up any leftover sauce and oils. The purse pockets ( have another name I believe, but couldn't remember) were amazing. Great blend of pear, ricotta and the sauce was creamy, but light. A little bit of crunch with the walnuts. The pollo Anna was good. Has a strong flavor from the legit prosciutto. If you've ever had store brand and legit prosciutto you'll understand what I mean. The sautéed spinach was delicious. The salad was a light and tasty combo of oil, soft goat cheese, honey, celery, shallots? and arugula. Unfortunately the celery seemed like it was turning black and still used. Either way never had that combo and enjoyed. Italian sausage reminded me of my uncles sausage that he would cook in the summer. Great flavor. Overall plates were clean. Oh and don't forget the limoncello cake Loved it. Overall recommend.

Yelp
I could never count the number of times I've been here for lunch since they opened, but seldom for dinner. I've never had a bad meal or bad service EVER. Last night for dinner, the place was packed! We had reservations and only waited maybe 10 minutes. We were seated in the side room usually used for parties. Since it wasn't booked for an event, they had it filled with tables. I've never sat in this room before. Almost immediately after being seated our wonderful waiter Max appeared to tell us of the specials. We wanted everything! He gave us a few minutes with the menu and then came back to take our orders. At no time was the crowded restaurant a deterrent to a wonderful meal and perfect service. Our only complaint was how incredibly loud it was in that event space plus they had music on which caused the diners to speak over that music. I wouldn't want to sit in there again. Regardless, we loved our dinner. We shared a fabulous special salad of baby arugula, delicious goat cheese, almonds and dried cranberries. It was dressed to perfection! We shared the special asparagus rolentini appetizer, which was 5 stars. We each had grilled salmon that we felt might have been the best grilled salmon we had ever eaten. For dessert we shared a limoncello cake as light as a cloud. Do I sound pleased? Absolutely! I was treating my friend who had never been there before for her birthday. She raved! As it happens, I'll be there for lunch with my friends on Wednesday. I do so very often. Vecchia Osterria has become my go to!

Yelp
I am new to the area but we do go to their other Restaurant (Pizza place OFTEN) The people /Staff are so nice and pleasant. I called to make a reservation for tonight. The first person who answered the phone hung up on me. I called back and that person was rude as well.I dont care if you could not take our party of 6 BUT your delivery was horrible. Bad news travels FASTER then good.Maybe they should have a nicer person answering the phone.

Yelp
EXCELLENT!!! Took my wife on our first date here and we've gone back every year since! The restaurant is very homey and authentic. The fact that it's BYOB is unique and well worth it in my opinion. The service is always amazing and the food is spectacular! By far my favorite Italian restaurant. Specifically our favorite server so far has been Steph! She went above and beyond for us during our first anniversary dinner back after getting married. For a high quality meal I also really feel like the prices are great! You could go to Applebees and pay $16 for a basic and cheap pasta or come here and get a homemade, fresh, authentic pasta dish with quality proteins for like $5-$7 more plus complimentary bread? No brainer!!! Recommendations: MUST try the eggplant parmigiana or eggplant Rollatini, Fusilli alla Polpa di Granchio and the Farfalle

Yelp
Overall, the food was ok and service was alright. Ambiance was light (see pics). Nothing was outstanding. As you walk into the restaurant, you're greeted with antiques and heirlooms from the family-owned restaurant's history. Old pictures of the owners and their family add a heartwarming touch and you know you're getting authentic, Italian food. Our server was busy and after we sat he buzzed to the tables around us before coming over to give us menus and take our order. We got the specials of the day: the burrata cheese plate* and the veal. Based on Yelp, I ordered the Rigatoni Osteria. The food was only ok. The plate of cheese was just that: a plate of cheese slices of parmesan and cheddar, salami and prosciutto, olives and of course the burrata. They had a sweet, balsamic-based drizzle. It was ok. The main meals were also ok. The rigatoni was again ok--it was pasta with some sauce I asked for salt. The veal was well cooked but drenched in the sauce so it was hard to differentiate the flavors. We sat in their covered outdoor "garden" area, that was covered with an outdoor tent. The area was semi heated but it turned pretty chill pretty quickly as the sun went down. Would advise bringing a jacket!
