Can't say enough about Veer and Wander and their excellent Customer Service. I order products from them approx 1x per month and they always arrive quickly. Love how they include some free samples with every order. I'd rather use Veer and Wander than try to hunt down products at local stores in my area. Thanks Guys. You Rock!

Truly such a special place 🥰 Here you can find so many special treasures. Whether it's for yourself or for a gift, you'll find the most curated selection of clean, sustainable beauty products that are hard to find, hair tools and treats. I always love discovering something new here. Connie & Brian are the best! They also quickly ship and have an online store. So convenient!

I go here for haircuts and Cezanne smoothing treatments and they are the best. I've had Lola for haircut and Ziggy does an amazing Cezanne super detailed and gentle.

WARNING ⚠️ INEXPERIENCED I’ve decided to repost my review because the amount of money I have had to pay to repair my hair is MORE than what I paid for services. In September I came in and told the owner I have fragile hair and only use Wella or Lanza to lift because it doesn’t dry my hair. She assured me her Italian products were just as gentle. Her products FRIED my hair…..now 3 months later no amount of keratin or oil treatments has been able to smooth out the damage or repair it…..I am going to have cut off most of my hair!!! You can see if you look closely the white streaks in my hair!!! This is because for the entire hour she had the product on my hair she did NOT check my hair once to see how it was processing even though she sat 15 feet from the the whole time. So I have streaks of platinum blonde in my hair along with my hair just being totally fried. THE COLOR IS TOTALLY UNEVEN! She DID NOT use a toner. I’ve spent more than the $200 that was refunded to me in an attempt to heal my hair to NO AVAIL! My hair has just continued to fall out……… Don’t risk it folks no one should still be suffering 3 months later from damage like this!!! If you have fragile hair DO NOT COME HERE!!

Wow this order came super fast. A day early. Ordered based on friend recommendation and can say one application gave my aching thumb relief. Love a company that communicates well and goes above and beyond.

Connie & her team really are great! I have really thick hair that often gets over-thinned out or cut in a way that ends up being incredibly high maintenance. Connie and I went through inspiration and reference photos, and then we chatted about the goal of the haircut. It looks great, and it was a lovely time in the salon. Be sure to check out her curation of products in the front of the shop!

Google
Hands down best haircut I’ve ever had. Connie listened to what look I was going for and we talked about what a haircut should make you feel. The best part- I have curly hair and the grow out has stayed just as fresh as the day she cut it! During my cut she kept me up to date on the newest looks from top fashion, how good the last book she read was and how she finds/selects the gorgeous products in the front. We browsed through the fantastic curated vintage and she styled me in the coolest outfit for pictures. Connie has an amazing eye and iconic taste. You can see it immediately when you walk in and will always find something new to drool over. I left with the perfect hairspray for my type of curly hair and a cut that’s lasted.

Manilito not only is the sweetest, but he also is an extremely talented artist. My hair was so damaged and lifeless, but he brought it back to life! He was constantly checking in to make sure the length was ok, or if I needed anything. I haven’t had a cut in almost 3 years because I’m so nervous when I comes to people cutting my hair but he made me feel so safe, comfortable, & at home. Needless to say, I found my new stylist, and will only be seeing him moving forward. I’m so happy with the results 🥹🥰💖 thank you manilito u are the best seriously 🥹💖

Yelp
Love this place mostly because of Anton--he's the best! He gives the cleanest, most perfect bob every time. Super talented and just really easy to be around. Can't recommend him enough!

Yelp
Wanted to write a long overdue review for Connie. I discovered her about two years ago and, as someone who never really got regular haircuts because I was resigned to just having unfixable bad hair, I am a convert to the church of haircut. To be clear, my hair is in fact bad hair- it is fine, frizzy, inconsistently curly, and thinning from perimenopause. But none of those factors are too much for Connie. She has somehow given me nonstop hits that layer my thin frizz in a way that looks full-bodied and shaped without looking 'layered'. I've gone from someone who always pulled my hair back and cringed at every picture, to having friends and colleagues ask where I go and come in with their own French lobs saying they were inspired by MY hair. To think. It's all Connie and she's a hoot as well. Even my husband, who I can tell deep down doesn't love "short" hair, tells me unprompted at least 3x a week how much he likes my hair. It's weird. Any how, in terms of location, I live 45-60 min away and make the trek for her. I'm also a baby when it comes to city parking and such and even I have dialed it down to early weekend appts where I street meter park on Mission right off the freeway and walk around the corner to Brady. Easy peasy and so worth it.

Yelp
I'm so happy with my haircut I got with Manilito! I have super thick hair with a lot of wave/texture that I had previously just gotten trimmed with no layers or anything, and I was ready to finally get a nicer haircut. I called to explain and get a stylist recommendation, since you have to choose a stylist when you book online, and they set me up for an appointment with Manilito for just the next week. Manilito was so friendly and kind, and I had a great experience with him cutting my hair! I told him that I wanted a low-maintenance, shorter haircut with layers, and he did an awesome job of giving suggestions, creating my vision, and giving me a super cool haircut. He cut it and made sure I was happy with it, then showed me how to easily style my hair at home, even showing me how it would look air-dried because that is my usual routine. He made me feel really comfortable, not in a rush, and I could ask a lot of questions about my hair and just chat too. In the past, I've tended to avoid layers because I didn't know how to make them work with my hair texture, but it felt great for Manilito to understand my hair and show me how to take care of it. I'm really happy with my decision to finally pay a little more for a haircut. I would definitely recommend Manilito to anyone, especially if you're feeling inexperienced/frustrated about your hair type like me. My other note is to arrive with plenty of time to park if you aren't familiar with the area! My appointment was on Wednesday at 11am, and it took me probably 20-30 minutes to find a spot and get in.

Yelp
After attempting to bleach my own hair, I came into Veer & Wander looking for extensions to replace all the hair I lost. The salon is tucked away in an alley - a modern haven amidst a somewhat sketchy neighborhood. I sat down in Atsuko Kajita's chair for a consultation and was really surprised by how reasonable the prices are! I booked her in advance right away (her bookings get full very quickly!) and placed an order for my extensions so they can arrive to the salon in time to be installed by Atsuko. Veer & Wander uses Secret of Medusa extensions which are pricey but high quality and can be reused 3-4 times. I've seen Atsuko twice now (with a third appointment coming up) and I always get my roots bleached/toned, a subtle blue put into the roots, and my extensions reinstalled. The whole process takes about 3 hours and Atsuko is really patient and detail-oriented. One time my appointment was long and she ended up having to stay after closing time to finish my hair which was super nice of her. She's also always asking me if I need something to drink or if I'm too cold (she has a heater she places in front of her customers). In fact, all the employees in this salon seem to be really friendly - I don't think I've had a bad conversation with anybody here. On top of this, the interior of the salon is very nicely decorated with classy items and comforting smells. The floor plan is interesting because it features different levels, so it doesn't feel cramped when I'm getting my hair done. The overall salon experience is really great. Veer & Wander does a lot of hair cutting / coloring / bleaching services so I'm not sure why these are not explicitly listed out on Yelp.

Yelp
Best kept secret in SF, I have been going here for decades (back when in was Hair Louie) and I love what Connie has done with the space, it's expanded and bright but feels private. I am very, very picky about skin and hair products and use them sparingly, the bespoke apothecary selection has the best of the best. This salon has recently opened a second location, so proud to see small business flourishing!

Yelp
How many times have I made an appointment here? Three. How many times had I left feeling awesome about the experience afterward? Zero. After turning into a piss riddled alley and walking through the door, you're very quickly greeted by an amalgamate of every active, self-important ego occupying the space. Booking your appointment here is a privilege; be grateful. You'll have the opportunity to thank the salon gods later by making generous purchases before you go but, whoa, we're getting ahead of ourselves here. Arrived on time? Doesn't matter! Be prepared for a 10-to-30 minute wait for your appointed acolyte to fetch you. Perhaps you can allow some of that pervasive ego filling every corner of the joint to help bring you closer to everyone else's vibe as you idle. You don't want to be all weird and out-of-place, do you? Stylists are all unique from one another, each bringing in their own collection of background, talents, preferences, and quirks. Be ready for them to tap into these to strongly, firmly recommend treatments and/or styles you probably weren't counting on, or were interested in, before you arrived. It doesn't matter what the prior delays were or how long you had to wait before your actual appointment could start, and it never matters if you agree to all/some/none of the strong, firm recommendations. You're just gonna run your acolyte's schedule right off the gauge if they commit 100% to you right now. Either you'll get an accelerated slop job or they're gonna dual wield stations. Maybe they'll remember what they're doing with your hair when they feel like swinging by. And then you may provide praise with your generous purchases, on your way out. Blessed be your brand new, slightly better smelling haystack on top of your dome. Every visit. Every time.

Yelp
Connie cut my hair and from a few vague descriptions involving words like "choppy" and "textured" she gave me a look that I never imagined my hair could achieve without blow-drying or a perm! I went in with very long, very straight typical Asian hair without much volume and walked out with a modern, textured shoulder length hairdo. I didn't realize my hair could look like this with just some salt water spray and strategic tousling! I love the vibe of the salon as well, and Connie was wonderful to chat with. I will definitely be back when it's time for my next haircut.

Yelp
As a preface, I hate getting my hair cut. I get anxious and usually end up going to some $10 place to just get the most generic cut or I let my hair grow out and do a little trim myself every month or so. Veer&Wander made me change my mind (for now, at least). The price was more reasonable than most of the salons in the area for the level of service I received. I was given an excellent haircut, plenty of pampering, lots of great styling tips and good conversation. I had Cassie Brunelli give me a new haircut for my wedding. I told Cassie that I was going to be doing my own hair at the wedding, so she walked me through the steps to style it myself, explaining her technique and why she did it that way. She also gave me some pointers for my specific hair type that have been useful. Ever since that haircut, I get compliments almost daily. I might be getting a little narcissistic, but I do think I look pretty great.

Yelp
I went to get my hair dyed here and it was incredible! I walked in and was greeted upon arrival by the front desk staff and asked if i needed anything to drink while I waited. The front desk area has many really great hair products for sale and it's all so nice and neatly organized! Jonathan was my hair colorist and he was super helpful in choosing a color for me when I had no idea what I wanted. I just knew I wanted red and Jon went right to work and found a great match for my skin tone and my undertones. I hadn't dyed my hair for three years at this point and was really missing having fun colors, but still had to look professional in my workplace. The color that Jon mixed for me is perfect, subtle inside but when the sun shines on my hair it's bright red!! Would definitely rec

Yelp
Unfortunately will not be coming back to veer and wander. After yesterday's visit I left almost crying. During COVID lockdown I fucked up my hair with bleach which lead to a lot of hair breakage. I usually go for icy blond but maintenance during quarantine is hard and expensive, so I decided to change it up a bit. I booked a balayage with Connie hoping that she'd do some magic. After telling her my story she told me that she won't put any more bleach in my hair but rather tone them. She then told me that I need a haircut, because my hair feel heavy and they don't flow. I don't remember the last time I got a haircut that bad. I told her I want to keep the length and agreed that she would do light layers and take a maximum of 1 inch off. She took at least 3 and the whole volume that I had in my hair before is gone now. My hair feels choppy and somehow even worse because there's just nothing left...I'm running fingers through my hair and feel terrified and crying. Not only I had to deal with loosing my hair to bleach, now I have to deal with losing them to a bad haircut as well. I feel that she just didn't listen. I feel cheap, ugly and extremely sad. I've attached pictures of my hair in August (after I bleached them) and my hair now. Sorry for the filters on the first photo, I just don't have anything better to show. Color turned out nice, wish I didn't agree for a haircut.

Yelp
I moved to the city recently and had been procrastinating on booking a hair cut and color because I had been going to my same salon for 8 years and was scared to try some place new. I feel like dentists and hair stylists are the two hardest things to find in a new city. My friend highly recommended Katie as a stylist and let me tell you, this woman performs miracles. I have been getting balayage for several years in a more honey tone and I wanted to be a more ash blonde. Katie was super professional and transparent and let me know that we might not achieve my end goal today but she explained why and how doing so might damage my hair. We had a good talk about how hair stylists really have to be responsible and let their clients know if something will damage their hair. I was in the salon for over 5 hours due to the nature of what I was trying to accomplish and because I have super long, thick hair. Katie was so informative the whole way through and answered any and all questions I had. You can tell she's really a pro and passionate about what she does. I will definitely be going back. In fact I already booked my next service. Thank you Katie, for working miracles! The actual salon is adorable. They not only have hair services but it's also a cute little boutique with things from hair care to beauty care to candles and other similar cute stuff. I ended up buying the shampoo and conditioner that Katie recommended because she gained my trust, even in the "short" time I was there and I could tell she truly believed those products would help to repair my hair and prevent further I forgot to add that they offer complimentary wine during your service too! And the photo shoot at the end with the professional lighting was super fun!

Yelp
If you want to pay $100+ and look like a sheep gnawed your hair off .. don't look further. Do you want to be told how great your hair is .. and how it great the texture and growth is .. while your hair is being butchered ..this is it . I presently look like lea Delaria with Twiggy's wig Worst haircut of all times .. redo is a sham ..most unimaginative hairstylist- Ziggy . PS : the owner Connie came around and gave me a redo .. the damage is beyond repair .. one star for the attempt and attention and the awesome front desk person Keith .

Yelp
I have never been so pleased with haircut and styling. Everything I asked for. Lola is absolutely charming and definitely knows her stuff. Beautiful space. I will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
The overall atmosphere at Veer & Wander was wonderful and everyone was very friendly; however I am less than satisfied with the state of my hair. I requested a junior stylist because the cost of the cut was already stretching my budget and I didn't want to shell out another $20 for a little more experience when at my previous salons I preferred the work of the junior stylists anyway. I don't know, maybe that was my mistake. I came in with a overgrown pixie cut. I have pretty thick hair, so when it grows out from a stylized pixie I look like a mushroom or a coconut head. As I struggle with asking for what I want when put on the spot, I brought in a picture for reference. I chose that picture because I liked that the hair gives lift to her face as her hair is not plastered against her cheeks and her ears are clearly visible and it is longer on top but not too long like a lot of pixies that have side bangs. Overall, I like the dainty-softness of the picture, which was my original experience with a pixie cut. My haircut does not capture that dainty-softness. My hair looks like it is just growing back after a buzz cut. Mind you, the quality of the cut is not terrible. I have seen it on a number of people and I like it on them. And I might have liked it on me had that been what I asked for. But it wasn't. The end result of my haircut made me feel as if my stylist either didn't take into account what I asked for or did not have the ability to accomplish it. Neither scenario is ideal for her being a service provider. I am dissatisfied with my hair and it is too short to do anything about it unless I shave my head, which I have no desire to do. I am trying to tell myself that it's just hair and it'll grow back, but I paid too much money to have my confidence stepped on as I do not feel beautiful with my new hair. Again I'd like to emphasize that the quality of the cut is fine but it did not align with my request.

Yelp
It was a pleasure to find this gem and a salon as I am new to SF. Jonathon was my colorist and he is new only a lovely human, but a very good and patient colorist. I got so lucky that I was able to find a wonderful blonde highlite colorist through Yelp! Ziggy then cut my hair and is also a gem of a human. He's fun to chat with and has a wealth of knowledge about cutting hair. I was in good hands and I love my haircut. The salon is also adorable and has lots of cool products.

Yelp
Let me preface my review by noting that I have been the type of person that dreads hair salons like the dentist. I used to get my hair done once a year because I always felt stylists overcharged, underperformed and never listened to what I wanted-until I came to Veer & Wander. My stylist, Cassie, is sweet and talented and is the first hair stylist to actually listen to my hair wants/needs. It is clear she understands hair and not only gives a great cut, but also provides great advice on how to treat/maintain hair health. If you're looking for a great salon that makes you feel like royalty (complimentary wine!) without the exorbitant price tag, go to Veer & Wander. If you want to leave looking even better than you were hoping, ask for Cassie as your stylist.

Yelp
Gina is my hair stylist at Veer and Wander, I've been going to this salon for nearly 4 years when I moved to SF and Gina has been my go to stylist for over 2 years now and I love her - I would honestly follow her if she ever moved salon! She helped me grow my hair over 2 years for my wedding (I've never been able to get it past my shoulders for the past 10 years!) and gives me a gorgeous natural balayage color and cut. She helped me source, color match and put in some extra extensions ahead of my big day for some extra thickness and did updo's for myself and my bridesmaids on the day. What can I say, Gina did an awesome job and the hair stayed put all day! I can't recommend Gina enough.

Yelp
Ah! Yes, a salon close to home and delightfully spacious as well. Lilly did a subtle balayage on me and it was just what I was looking for. The service was impeccable and she was a joy to talk to and listened to what I was wanting with ease. I think I have finally landed a salon and stylist to last!

Yelp
Love this place! Gina is super sweet and always does a great job cutting my hair (Ziggy is great too!). I used to be like, do I really need to spend $100 on just a haircut?? But as I've gotten older, I've come to realize that a good cut is just as important as color. And that's why I love Veer and Wander! Really cute space, easy to book appointments on their website (and even directly through Yelp), and great service!

Yelp
I've gone to Gina for cut and color several times and she is amazing! I usually show her inspiration photos and she will help me customize the look to what will be flattering for me and my hair. She gave my hair the best balayage ever, the colors melded together so naturally. She also has awesome attention to detail, so that even when I part my hair different ways the color is still blended throughout. She'll also talk me through how to style it. The Veer & Wander salon is very nice and has a great boutique at the front with lots of (very tempting) beauty and hair care products. I have tried a lot of different salons in the city and Gina is definitely my favorite stylist. The cut and color are always so flattering and exactly what I'm looking for. If you go to Gina you will definitely leave with a new look that you love!

Yelp
I have been going to Ziggy at Veer & Wander for 5 years now. He is incredibly talented and considerate, and always gets my hair just right. He works fast, precisely, and never stops until it's perfect. I highly recommend him for any type of haircut. It's worth adding that my wife has been going to Ziggy to cut her hair for years as well, and is a big fan.

Yelp
Hey Yelpers! Just made a Yelp account to share my experience. tldr; the staff is inviting, interior is awesome, and Atsuko saved my hair! --Context: Why I booked an appointment to Veer & Wander last minute-- Long story short, my hair looked like one of the photos when you Google search "fail balayage." There was a clear line where my natural hair ended and bleach started in a very unattractive way. I was extremely lucky to have found an opening among all the stylists of the salon, which was a life saver because I could not show up to work next week with such a fail hair-do (that happened just two days prior to my frantic search). --Day of appointment: first impressions-- Like all first time hair salon appointments, I was a bit anxious and uncomfortable. But those feelings immediately went away after the receptionist kindly offered me anything to drink while waiting for Atsuko. The interior was modern, clean, and polished. You can browse around the store next to the studio area. Moments later, I was greeted by Atsuko who was very kind and friendly from the get-go. She asked me what I'd like to walk out with today, set expectations of how the processes will affect my hair, and discussed potential next steps if there was ample time left in the appointment. I loved this because usually, the stylist would give heads up throughout the process and not from the very beginning. Being reassured of the plan and expectations was, for me, a great thing. --The service: Full balayage-- Atsuko was very meticulous while she skillfully placed the solution to various parts of my hair. I was offered a glass of wine while waiting which was nice :) Occassionally she asked me to accommodate the process (e.g. leaning over) which is really important to me as the client since I'd much rather sacrifice momentary comfort for precise and effective treatment of my hair. She made sure I was in optimal comfort level at every stage of the process (e.g. gently pulling my hair to apply the solution). --Highlight from my appointment with Atsuko-- What Atsuko did for me that I really appreciate is not only has she fulfilled my wants from today (which was to have a step 1 solution to solving my hair dilemma), at the END of the service I initially was appointed for, she took the extra effort to correctly ask whether my hair felt heavy (which it did but I wasn't consciously thinking about it because I was watching my hair turning out great) then enjoyably* offered to trim it towards the end of the process! For me, that's what distinguishes a good hair stylist to great ones: those who seem to genuinely enjoy what they do and empathize with their clients enough to ask about what they might be feeling with solutions ready. I was grateful for the fact that she didn't add to the charges, which other salons may have done because she did an amazing job for it to be free. And I'm picky with hair cuts! From today's experience, I walked away with much more than I expected: *cool*, beautiful, and lighter hair, and regret...... of not having booked with Atsuko earlier! I highly encourage you to book with Atsuko if you want to leave happy and fulfilled with your hair needs! Thank you so much Atsuko ^^ p.s.- She was also a delightful conversationalist and very knowledgeable. I learned a lot from her from this one appointment about hair care among various fun topics!

Yelp
Love love love my purple hair by Atsuko! I told her what I was going for and she picked the color. It came out exactly how I wanted it to. I got it done about 2 months ago and still get compliments every day. She's amazing!!! I dyed my hair purple in support of my 12 year old sister who was diagnosed with ITP (idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura). When people tell me how much they love my hair and I tell them why I chose this color, it helps me promote ITP awareness by me telling them what ITP is. Please check out an article my sister wrote about her experience at https://phoenix415.wordpress.com Thank you again Atsuko for the amazing job you did with this shade of purple. It truly is everything I wanted and has helped me spread the word about my sister's diagnosis. It means more to me than you could imagine!

Yelp
This is a place you walk into and instantly feel cooler than you ever thought you could be. Connie is amazing. I was never loyal to hair dressers until a bad haircut went really wrong. Connie found the right people to fix the situation and she's been steering me in the right direction ever since.

Yelp
I love V&W! I've been in for a cut and color three times now. Connie, the owner, is amazing and cares about each client's experience. I've been in for a cut, balayage color, and color toner / touch up, and have had nothing but really great experiences. I've had a cut from Keshawn, who magically and perfectly matched my hair to my inspiration photo I brought with me. I've had a toner / color touch up from Lillian, who did such a great job and gave my hair her (self-described) perfectionist attention which is what I'd want from anyone working on my hair :) I've had a balayage with Connie and it was an awesome experience and she made sure every concern I had was perfectly addressed and that my hair turned out exactly how I imagined. She is super delightful and makes you want to start a relationship with a salon. Having lived in SF for a little while now, I feel like I've found "my" salon!

Yelp
I've been looking for a great salon and stylist since moving to SF 3+years ago. I came across V&W and all of the great reviews. I saw Gina to make a big change from long to lob! She did a fantastic job. I showed her some photos of what I wanted and she was able to create what I was looking for. She had great recommendation to adapt the style to my hair. I love it! Thanks Gina. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
I've been going here for the past year every 6 weeks or so and it's safe to say I no longer need to search for a new place to get my hair cut. I have thick curly hair and I've been on a mission to grow it out. With the help of my hair stylist, Cassie, she's helped me not only maintain healthy ends and hair but achieve a style that works for my hair at every length. Haircuts are such an enjoyable experience here and the store front is worth coming early to browse. Highly recommend this salon and Cassie!

Yelp
I love, love, love this salon. I've been here a couple of times to get my hair colored and cut, and Ziggy and Lily are the best. The first time I came in, I had very vibrant pink hair, and Lily was able to get out all the pink and take me to blonde in ONE session. She also always has tasteful suggestions for how to make my hair look more natural once the roots grow out, and offers great product suggestions. Ziggy is a very seasoned hair stylist and is great at conversation as well as finding the right cut for what works with your hair. I've been looking for a salon in SF for around a year now, and I've finally found it!:)

Yelp
They're open again! Salon owner Connie McGrath is a wonderful hostess and even better stylist in her apothecary/boutique and salon just off of Market in San Francisco. I started going to Veer & Wander 8 years ago and they still deliver the fashion-forward looks I go for, every time. Go to Veer & Wander, have a chat and a coffee with your stylist, and walk out feeling relaxed, and looking like a million. If you need a more manageable style-they'll give you one. Want a little kick to your regular style- you've got it. I could go on but you get the idea. This salon is just the best. Book online asap as they are operating at 25% capacity to provide healthy protocols for clients.

Yelp
I love the atmosphere at this salon! Everybody is so pleasant to be around and so concerned with how comfortable their clients are. Keshawn cuts my hair for me and I don't think I'll ever be able to let anybody else touch my hair after her. It's hard to find somebody who knows how to handle my hair type so that fact that she knows how to deal with my tight curls is a major plus for me. Not only is she a beast when it comes to cuts, she's great at blow outs! It only took her an hour to blow out my whole head of hair and it always turns out amazing!

Yelp
I've been getting balayage-d for about four years now, and my experience at Veer and Wander was one of the best ever. Connie is a great conversationalist--took the time to listen to what I wanted my hair to look like and was really enthusiastic about the whole thing. She is the owner and seems incredibly proud of her staff and their space, which has promoted what seems like an incredible culture that lends itself to great service from each team member. It's tough to find a salon that is super "with it" in terms of the latest colors and styles in SF, but Veer and Wander does it. It's obvious that Connie prioritizes this among her staff, and it also shows in the incredible selection of product and makeup the shop sells. Connie also seems to care about making sure your color/style looks great on YOU. She talked a lot about why she thought my color was right for me. As an amateur, that was great to see. She also told me a lot about the products she was using, which is a great practice. As someone who is always trying to go blonder, I super-recommend this place. If you're like me and worry if your hair color will actually have the subtle nuances you want to see, or if your hair color will actually flatter you, Veer and Wander has your back!

Yelp
Love the smell of this place when you first walk in! They have amazing products and the stylists know how to work that hair. Highly recommend!

Yelp
One star because the place is beautiful and they Sell good products, the second because people were friendly and easy to talk to, and the third for the good haircut and amazing head rub I got from Renee during my shampoo. I felt like she really listened to what I wanted and also was talkative and offered suggestions when asked. I appreciate that in a hairstylist, because lord knows I'm not an expert. The two stars off are because my appointment was for 1 o'clock. I did not get a booking confirmation, but whatever. I called to confirm, it was fine. Then, half hour later I got a call from the salon asking if I would mind moving my appointment back until two. Well, I don't live in the city, so I made a special trip, and I'm not gonna reschedule for another day and make the drive. But it's an hour, no big deal. I get to the salon at 2:05 (parking was a nightmare, and they don't validate, $4 an hour or $20 flat). They say, your stylist isn't ready, just finishing up with someone else. No big deal I say, good thing I'm late. 30 minutes later the stylist is finally ready, but the workspace is still covered in the previous clients hair. Kind of gnarly, but I'm not picky. Then I proceed to get the longest haircut in the history of mankind. No color, nothing complicated. My hair, by all accounts, is boring. One length cut. It was so long but I had to go out to my meter with my hair wet and feed it again. The stylist offered to have someone go out and feed it for me, which I thought was nice, but then returned when no one was available and sent me out on my way all wet to ring up another $8. Around five I finally made it out, had to forgo the final blowout and dry and leave with frizzy 80% dry hair because I had a meeting that I couldn't miss and I didn't want to go out and feed the meter a third time. So, overall, good quality, no punctuality. Sorry Renee, half of your tip went to extra time on the meter.

Yelp
Holy moly, have been here twice and this place totally blows me away every time with what they can do with my hair. I shaved my head last summer, and as anyone who has shaved their head before knows, the growing out process is AWKWARD. I was about 8 months into roughing this out and sporting a pretty terrible/shapeless mullet thing, but Atsuko is a miracle worker. I was skeptical that she would be able to do much with my hair since it's still fairly short and uneven, but after an artful cut, my hair has been shaped into an adorable Louise Brooks-style bob that looks edgy and will grow out nicely. Cannot sing enough praises to Atsuko and the rest of the stylists here, they are true experts and I am beyond happy to be looking more like my former self again! My only regret is not having come in sooner to chop the mop!

Yelp
I've been seeing Lola for years now. First for colors and now for color and cut. She's amazing. My naturally dark and curly hair has been transformed to shades of pink, purple and now a lovely ashy blonde. She's incredibly dedicated to keeping the health of your hair. Her root blending techniques are masterful. She's helped keep my long hair healthy despite the amount of bleach and coloring I do. I've followed her as she's moved from different salons. The newest being Veer and Wander, a beautiful location off Market. Everyone is kind and the natural light and staghorn ferns give a feeling of calmness.

Yelp
In town for business from FL. I yelped a spot for a blow dry for my mom and I. What a welcoming awesome place!! Ziggy added a cut for my mom which was fabulous. Keshawn did my blowout and I learned so much from her about my hair! Loved it

Yelp
I've been going to Phron for about 3 months now and every time he has different and exciting recommendations based on my preferences and hair type; I've never seen haircuts draw so much attention and positive responses! I didn't even think it was a possible for such a simple change to elicit so many reactions, its not like I got a crazy hairdo! I like to keep my style simple and now I've had strangers (guys and girls !) approach me on the regular (definitely not a bad thing). I'm the envy of my workers and I can always be in peace knowing that, even if all else goes wrong with my day, at least my hair is looking good! It's a very satisfying feeling, one less thing on my plate. It's like I'm hanging out with a friend but receiving the upmost care and service, could not recommend him more. Oh and coffee/water while you get cut! This place is awesome.

Yelp
I came to get my hair colored here 3 weeks before my wedding and they totally ruined my hair. My hair is orange, spotty, streaky, and super contrast. It's also not matching top and bottom. Looks so unnatural. Really poor coloring job done. I liked the first time they did my hair, the second time was ok and decided to try a third time cause I knew them already and they completely messed it up. She used foil and did a full hair color, when I asked for a partial bayalage that is very subtle. I'm having to redo it but I'm going to go somewhere else. Oh and they left my hair dry and brittle - horrible. Be careful when you get your hair colored with them.

Yelp
First time here and I was wowed by Renee! I didn't really have a vision for how I wanted my hair cut. I told her I wanted edgy, yet professional and that's exactly what I got. I was impressed by her attention to detail and it's refreshing to find a place that can give you an excellent cut without breaking the bank. The salon itself has a hip vibe and everyone is super friendly. I'll definitely be back for some color. Thanks Renee!

Yelp
It's really hard to find a hair salon with 5 stars on Yelp. There's a reason why it's so great. Thanks for making my hair look fresh and great.

Yelp
Outstanding haircut by Ziggy! I chose Veer & Wander because of their stringent COVID protocols and easy online booking. But Ziggy was a true delight, proposing a new hairstyle in a supportive and easygoing way and engaging me in conversation throughout the visit. I would highly recommend both Veer & Wander and Ziggy for the haircut and the experience!

Yelp
I never write reviews but had such an awesome experience at V&W felt I had to do a review! A friend of mine that lives in SF recommended this unique beauty store to find healthier make up & skin care brands that are unique & hard to find. The staff were so helpful and helped me find what I was looking for and more! Everyone was so friendly and even offered me a tea while I shopped... Next time I am in the city I definitely going to go back and get my hair done too!

Yelp
Keshawn is excellent and I'm so happy with my cut, and how my hair looks both styled and air-dried. Appreciated her recommendations for masks/products and highly recommend for curly/wavy hair or otherwise.

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't written a review yet. I've been going to Gina for over 2 years now and I can't sing her praises enough. When I first started seeing Gina, my hair was stuck at the same length after chopping it all off 3 years ago (a mistake I'll never get over). She told me we were going to stop cutting layers (something I wish my previous stylist would've recommended). I listened and within less than a year my hair was back it's long length and even healthier than before. I love my cut and color and leave happy every time. Not something I've experienced with my other stylists. The salon offers great products along with complimentary coffee and tea. The staff is always very friendly too!

Yelp
Five stars does absolutely no justice for Veer & Wander. They deserve many more then that. Scheduling of the Appointment: Connie and her husband have been into my job a few times. After explaining to them I needed to get rid of this Chinese Crested Dog look I've been sporting they quickly pulled out their phones and worked around my very hectic schedule. Hello customer service I'm so glad to see you living through these wonderful people! They could have easily directed to me the website to do myself but their business owner attitudes would not allow for anything other then above and beyond. 10 stars! Or 5 since that's all Yelp allows. Arrival for Appointment: Per usual I was late. Oops. The receptionist was so nice. Her name started with a "R" either way extremely friendly. She was very patient and communicative between my stylist and I on my inability to ever be in time. Then I met Gina! Gina my stylist: Let me say this for everyone to hear Gina is amazing!!! Personality and technique are through the roof amazing! Besides her patience with me not arriving on time she was also patient with my indecisiveness. She colored and cut my hair. Gina was meticulous in making sure the color would be exactly what I wanted and needed. And the cut!!! Well it's perfect! I told her I wanted to grow it out. She made sure to keep my length while still making it look like I got a hair cut....an art in itself! And Atsuko (sp?) I can't forget her. She did a damn good blow out. I go to other said places in the city for a blow out once a month and they can't touch what she did!!! I am absolutely in love with Veer & Wander! The inside decor is gorgeous and very clean. The entire staff was very friendly. You don't walk past someone without them acknowledging and smiling at you. I felt very welcome and comfortable.
