Vegan Castle is the place you want to go if you want the best vegan sushi. I've even taken non-vegans and they loved it. By far, the presentation of the food is artwork. The flavor is on another level. The portion size is very nice. No skinny sad sushi here. I've had good sushi, but this is my favorite place to eat vegan sushi. I've never been disappointed here. Highly recommended!

Always looking for irie vegan spots, and this was recommended to me. It did not disappoint, it was definetly a local vibe, in the best ways. The food was very clean, light to eat, but still substantial and filling. Their was quite a few rolls to select from, and all looked high quality, and tasted of fresh ingredients. Everything was clearly labeled, with a various amount of gluten-free roll options. I thoroughly enjoyed, the flavors were spot on and subtle. This is a great spot for any on the go person, or looking to dine in; looking for plant based options, without compromising taste!

This is the best vegan sushi I’ve ever had. The portions are huge and not just five little pieces per roll. The rolls are beautifully prepared and made me feel like I was eating art. The flavors and taste of their rolls are phenomenal. Hands down, this is Southern Cali’s best vegan sushi and Tony is a genius and artist with each roll. I already let him know that my family and I are life long customer and I’m sure after anyone tries his vegan sushi, they will become one as well. The Scooby rolls are my favorite.

Vegan Castle is amazing!! Chef Tony is an absolute artist!! My fiancée and I love this place. We ordered the Spicy Tuna Roll, Dragon Roll, and the Long Beach Roll. Not only is the sushi presented beautifully and 100% vegan, the sushi is absolutely delicious! I urge you, if you love great tasting sushi, please show some love and come to Vegan Castle. Believe me, you will not be disappointed.

I’m not vegan, and I don’t eat sushi, but my vegetarian son wanted to try this place and I’m so glad we did! I craved the food for weeks afterward, and went back with a vegan friend. It’s just a little place and the owner doesn’t have help, but it is so worth the wait. Absolutely delicious!

It's absolutely the best vegan sushi in LA. You must try it. If you don't like spicy food, Tony can make it nonspicy at all; just ask for it. Delicious, healthy, big portion, all vegan.

It took a while for Vegan Castle to win me over, but I'm glad it did! My very first experience was back in 2021, within their first year of business. In short, I really enjoyed what I ordered. I had one of the deep-fried rolls, a Red Dragon Roll, and a Crispy Fish Taco. I was just frustrated that it took nearly 75 minutes to get my food. Flash forward to early November 2024. I'm in the neighborhood and decided to place a to-go order. But opted not to when we learned that it would take an hour. At least this time my expectations were managed. I was in the neighborhood again a few weeks later and decided to swing by, place my order, then come back an hour later. I was a bit delayed coming back and arrived closer to 90 minutes later and my order was ready and waiting! I took it home and this Scooby Doo Roll was better than expected! It's filled with tempura shrimp, cream cheese, and jalapeño. On my last two visits, he was the only one working! It really made me appreciate all that goes into being a small business owner. Loved the Volcano and the Spider Roll! Those are must-gets, just trust. They are both pretty big rolls. The red dragon roll was solid. The rainbow roll was beautiful but wished it had more crunch to it and not sure how I feel about banana being one of the toppings. The ocean roll was okay. Also wished it had more of a bite or crunch to it, but that's just my personal preference. We came on a Saturday afternoon and there was just one guy working the entire place so we had a wait a lil bit for all of our rolls to arrive on the table but he did a great job at making sure everyone had at least something on the table to munch on while he prepped the rest of the orders. Plenty of street parking!

I don't know who gave this guy the right to be so talented but holy smokes this place is good. The rolls are so flavorful and textured, and the presentation is always beautiful, especially when you dine in. This is my favorite place to bring non-vegans because they're always so impressed. My vegan-skeptical dad keeps asking when we're going back and my ex tells me he still thinks about this place. Plus the prices are affordable and the owner-operator is so nice. It can take a while to get the food because he's a one-man show but it's worth it!

What a Gem this is for Long Beach. Hands down the best vegan sushi I've ever had. Small but cute spot right off a main road. Chill ambiance inside, nothing too fancy nor too loud. Great to take my family of 3 kids. Now when it comes to the service and food that's why I keep coming back. The service is top notch. The owner does everything himself, he's super man in the kitchen. So yes there will be a little bit of a wait keep that in mind but grab your water and just relax knowing there's lots of love going into the order. Every roll on the menu is so unique, colorful, some with unique sauces and all with flavors exploding in your mouth (pause ). My favorites are the dragon roll, miso soup, ocean roll but I've tried most of the menu and enjoyed all but the sweet banana one. I just can't do the sweetness tbh lol If you're looking for a great lunch or a date out highly recommend coming here. If you don't like the wait then order at least 20 minutes ahead by phone!

My girlfriend and I loove this place! Best vegan sushi I've ever had! My girlfriends vegan and I'm a flexitarian so I'm a little more picky with vegan sushi because I still eat regular sushi every now and then. However this place seriously has the best vegan sushi! It's a must try! It can take quite awhile for you to get your food at times but that's because the owner is doing everything. Super nice guy and really puts his heart and soul into his food. It's definitely worth the wait though! I'd say come patient and give a big tip. All the vegan spots are struggling in the area and I'd hate to see another amazing vegan spot go under. Was in the area decided to stop by let me tell you a great decision staff was friendly. The food took a min to come out there was a couple of people ahead of us but well worth it we had the wait. We loved the Santa Fe and the Scooby will deff be back.

Great food (beautifully presented!) and friendly service! My only issue is the ambiance is lacking a bit. It's a fairly small store and the walls are pretty bare. There was also a bench that I was sitting on that was falling apart a bit, so sitting down and standing up was loud and difficult. But they do have some beautiful plants! Overall, the place was pretty good! I would come back, but it would be great if they could make the place a bit more inviting somehow.

I don't usually leave reviews but wanted to support this restaurant I went to today. Vegan Castle: The best vegan sushi I've ever had. Super fresh and highly recommend everyone to support ! So fresh and the flavors were amazing. Hard to pick my favorite but probably the crispy tuna! Will go back again and again.

The rainbow roll was my favorite because I was pleasantly surprised that vegetables and fruit made up the colors at the top instead of fake fish. The roasted red peppers were the "tuna" at the top of the roll. Delicious! Also really loved the hand rolls. I liked the very satisfying shrimp-less one. I thought it was cute that the dragon roll was bendy! Would definitely come back again to this hole in the wall place. The guy making the food was solo and was very friendly and hardworking. Very good prices for this kind of sushi!

Still delicious, still consistent. Definitely going to come back and back and back. We still think the best is the Red Dragon roll.

Absolutely amazing! My boyfriend and I ended up ordering way too much, but have delicious leftovers. Staff were friendly and food came out fast. Highly recommend if you're in the area!!

The food here is so incredibly good! We love it so much. Our favorites are Dragon, Spider and I like scooby with the jalapeños. Tony the owner is a one man show doing it all solo. Be patient it's worth it. Thank you Tony for taking such special care and patience for my little celiac kids for their special rolls too. H you are so incredibly hard working, we appreciate you!

The food is definitely 5 stars maybe even 10! This is a really special vegan sushi spot. I get why people drive from far. The combos are creative and delicious and anything with the fried enoki mushrooms - yum! Also the prices are totally reasonable. I drove down to escape the smoke from the fires and was just looking for something to eat. Next time I will intentionally drag a friend with me here. It seemed like a lot of local folk come in often b/c of the quality of the food and yes, Tony, is a talented and cool dude. He does, however, need help as other yelpers mentioned. Some customers came in and thought I worked there(?) and chastised me for not clearing the tables. Funny thing is that I was actually thinking about helping to clear tables, because Tony was clearly in the weeds, but then another guy, a regular, came in and beat me to it. I feel like this place would be good candidate for one of those restaurant reality shows where they do a makeover and help you with your business. Right now the castle-ness is all in the product. I hope the other elements can rise to royalty status, as well. Even if they don't, people will keep coming, but I'd worry about sustainability for the owner. . . . .

This is a good option if you're craving vegan sushi. It wasn't my favorite vegan sushi spot but it's decent. We got a variety of things to try and each was unique but the base was all the same. The fish taco was pretty good and I would definitely get that again! If you're craving miso soup just be careful of their miso because it has more of a vinegary taste and doesn't taste like the typical miso soup. Server was super sweet and gave us a bunch of recommendations and the spot was easy to find! Also, plenty of street parking.

The Scooby Roll is hands down the best vegan sushi I've ever had! Fresh, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. I can't wait to bring the rest of the family to try everything. Tony is a true artist !!

This place is spectacular. The best vegan/plant based sushi restaurants I've ever been to even before I was vegan. Tony is the owner/chef and he is spectacular! The weight might be long because he's carrying all the weight by himself. I hope he gets help soon, but it is well worth the wait. I will drive all the way from the valley and I have for this cuisine.

The food is always delicious and fresh. It is the best vegan sushi by far! You won't be disappointed.

I've came in twice and both times I sat down with a menu and was never asked for my order. After 30 minutes I finally got up and asked if I can order. I guess it's not a sit down despite the restaurant seating. (Order at the front and pay if you want your order put in.) I then waited another 30 minutes for my order. Seems like he prioritizes online orders than customers who sit down. It's a one man show so expect a 45 minute to an hour long wait even when not busy. My advice to better the business is to hire employees and to greet each customer / tell them how they can order, instead of letting them sit around. I would like to give another chance because it's a small local business so if you have time still stop by.

Incredible vegan sushi spot in Long Beach. I didn't come with much expectations and was really impressed with the food. When you arrive, you order at the front and then they will bring the food to you. They definitely put a lot of attention in their ingredients and presentation. My favorite roll was the spider roll which was crisp, flavorful and hit the spot. I also tried the tuna hand roll which had a nice texture and overall was delicious. Even though the setting is pretty simplistic with not much of an aesthetic, the delicious food made up for it. The restaurant is located in a neighborhood area so you can find parking there. I will definitely come back to enjoy their other rolls.

Best vegan sushi I've ever had! Granted, it's my first time trying vegan sushi but it tastes so real! I tried the garlic spicy edamame and crunch roll. The edemame was so freaking fragrant and flavorful. I'll probably always get these haha The crunch roll was gigantic and delicious. I enjoyed every single bite. Vegan castle is v generous with their portions. They also have the friendliest and informative staff. The restaurant is an open kitchen concept making it a very organic and cozy environment. They can get busy and therefore the wait might be long. But trust, it is so WORTH the wait. Just order ahead if you're impatient haha I absolutely recommend them and can't wait to try more items off the menu!

Good vegan food and great service, tucked in a weird part of LB but worth visiting if you are vegan. Looks like we caught them on a really bad day when they were short staffed and our food took over 50mins to get out. Might return again but will try other items.

Omg I can't believe this is vegan sushi and that too tasty...m spice lover n always find sushi very blend, but can't say enough for this sushi place....after trying this place, me and my husband fell in luv with sushi...my husband travel a lot, nationally and internationally both n he tried many k own places but his hall in the wall place ranks always on top....this place is our fav for I think 3 years now....its lil far from where we live, but we still go out of the way to enjoy our fav sushi from vegan castle...

What a great find. Located on a small neighborhood side street in LBC is the most fabulous Vegan Sushi joint. The chef-owner takes great pride in his work and his presentation is lovely. My daughter is Vegan, I am not but let me tell you.... It didn't matter. Because delicious is universal! And as r Dom s they are, don't miss the season fries because they're addicting. Well done!

Absolutely loved this place! Do not have a lot of experience with vegan sushi, but what we ate was tasty and beautifully presented. Had to wait a bit but it was worth it. This is not fast food, but food made with care and creativity. Generous portions. Keep up the good work!

It's a very casual place with a good variety of interesting rolls and other options. The avocado taco had a lot of veggies but also deep fried avocado with a savory sauce - that turned out as a very flavorful crunchy combinations. I'd definitely get another one. My favorite roll was a Long Beach roll - the cream cheese was spot on, the mushrooms added just the right amount of texture. The roll overall was delectable and refreshing. Sherry roll was a surprise. This was my first dessert roll, and I didn't expect much of it. However, it was creamy and not overly sweet, and made a great finish to our meal. Cons: it's divvy if you are into that.

The food was delicious! I ordered the crunch roll, rainbow roll, and the red dragon roll. They did not disappoint, I have to say the red dragon was my favorite! I also got the spicy edamame and they were yummy, wish it had more of a lime flavor to them but over all delicious. The food took about 30-35 min to be served but there was only one chef working and it was honestly worth the wait. I've heard great things about the spider roll. Def trying it next time :)

I admit that I was super skeptical of this place only because sometimes I feel places sometimes have difficulty living up to the hype that they generate. I'm super glad that this place lives up to the hype. I definitely enjoyed all the food that we had. We had the Tuna Handroll, Fish Handroll, Spider Roll, and Red Dragon Roll. Let me start with the Handroll as appetizers. They both were delicious. I honestly forgot that it was vegan. It hit me halfway through that I was not eating fish. Now the stars of the show were the rolls. I had my eye on the Red Dragon and it did not disappoint. All the flavors combined perfectly to create a very satisfying flavor profile. Definitely a good one. But I must say that the Spider Roll was the BEST! The Tempura batter combined with the rest of ingredients was a symphony in your mouth. Hyperbole alert, but it definitely was amazing. If you dig tempura like I do, then this one is a must. Next time I come, I'd like to try other rolls, but I know I'll at least get the spider roll since it's now my go to roll here. Who knows, maybe another roll may take its spot. But I look forward to finding out!

Best vegan sushi I've ever eaten try this place in Long Beach out when visiting family in Southern California and every time I go back it is a must stop place for me. They absolutely have nailed it. It is delicious great ownership, great staff.

Hands down, best plant-based roll / "sushi" spot in SoCal! No animal cruelty, environmental destruction, world hunger, diseases and cancer - vegan is 100% the way to go. The rolls are humongous and beautifully arranged. We can see how much effort and care went into each dish, it's a piece of art. A "castle" is accurate, as you'll truly be feasting like royalty! Glad amazing places like Vegan Castle exist, and we don't have to give up on taste while doing what's right for the animals, the planet, humanity, and our health

So since our review, a lot has changed and it seems they've made a lot of progress and improvements. First thing I noticed was their business sign. Not sure if they saw my review about not having a sign but I noticed pulling up--that their name is finally up there. I'm sure it's probably been up for a while already but I'm the beginning back then, there were no signs whatsoever to find this location. Their inside decor has changed a lot. The chairs and dining area has since changed a lot and has gotten a better. The only thing is that the restroom inside is small where you sit and the toilet is facing directly at the wall with little space or room. I'm short and I barely could move trying not to make contact with the wall lol. The food is consistent and still good as the day we tried them. Deep fried rolls, fish taco, and fries. Their fries are also very yummy! Will definitely be back and glad to have returned. Hoping all the best of prosperity for the business for the new year! And many more :)

One of my fav vegan spots, hands down. Everything I've tried on the menu is A+++++ I got the scooby roll and miso soup today, and it did not disappoint. Service and ambiance are both super chill. Would recommend this spot to all vegan folks in and around the area.

These rolls were life changing. We got the Crunch and Scooby Rolls and loved them both, seriously so much better than even any non-vegetarian rolls I've had. Only one person was working and it was pretty busy so the wait was long, but well worth it in the end.

Great owner great vibes amazing food. For a small space it's got a Lotta love even when the owner is shortstaffed he's giving his full attention to every customer and every piece of food here in the area. I definitely recommend it.

The food was REALLY good, we were all very satisfied! The fries were crispy on the outside and gooey inside (they looked so good that we started eating them before I even took a photo, it's like half gone in the photo). We also got the seaweed salad and it was very tasty as well. The staff is nice and chill! The ambiance is very casual, with windows looking onto the street.

WOW! One of the best vegan sushis I've ever had. There's so many options yiu really can't go wrong. I shared the edamame, crunch roll and Santa Fe roll with a friend and it was more than enough food - we even had leftovers. We even got a complimentary miso soup. The restaurant is small but there's still a good amount of seating. Service is great and the people are nice! Would definitely recommend for vegans and non vegans alike!

I've had vegan sushi in multiple cities now and I can safely say that Vegan Castle is simply the best of the best. Don't let the casual setting fool you. Their sushi rolls here stack up to the competition and I am so jealous of folks that live around here and can get this more often than me. We ordered three rolls: Shrimp Tempura, Long Beach, and the Red Dragon Roll. Each order hovered from $12 - $15 and came with 6 - 10 pieces each. For it to all be vegan, those are extremely good prices for delicious food. Skip the avo & cucumber rolls - you have something better! The Red Dragon and Long Beach rolls were my favorite. Each using plant-based proteins for the seafood and combining it with sauces that really take the rolls to a new level. They also prioritize the aesthetics game so it feels like you're paying for $20 sushi rolls in DTLA. Service here was super friendly and chill. They recommended how many rolls we should get for our party and payment at the cashier after made it easy. It looks to be a small business so get out here and support. To be honest, I wish it was AYCE just so I could have more of their amazing sushi. But I'll be back nonetheless one day!

I've ordered to go orders from here a few times. The worker guy was so incredibly rude last time, it was shocking. I can't ever go back there because he was so unprofessional. I liked the food too. I don't know how this place is still in business. I'm clearly not the only one who has had this experience. trying to keep this brief: I came to pick up our order when they texted me it was ready. It wasn't yet, so I waited, I wasn't even in a rush. But after 40 mins of waiting, I asked him when it'll be ready..literally, just asked him. And he yelled at me! He wouldn't let me cancel the order when I suggested it since I thought maybe they were overwhelmed with orders. Only 2 tables were in there eating. Door Dash wouldn't let me cancel either because they kept saying it was done and ready for pick up! So annoying! Door Dash customer service/lack of actual communication with restaurants is awful too. Since it was $50+ and we were so hungry, I didn't want to leave without our food. So I waited another 30 mins. then it was finally done. No sorry for the wait of course, the guy was rude the whole time. Bummed, because I love supporting vegan businesses. but will never ever go here again.

Tony is so freaking talented. I'd eat here weekly if I could. So much flavor, so beautifully done, and textures on point. They even offer GF batter to help make more items accessible for Gluten intolerance. yum yum YUM!

I love this place, the spider handroll was incredible and I'll be back for cravings. The service staff was polite, and the food came out quick (although I went at a kinda strange time). The ambiance was so nice and relaxing once you got inside. I absolutely recommend this place, even if your not vegan!

If you love sushi but you're now vegan, this is the place to come! The 5 of us ordered 7 diff rolls, spicy edamame, miso soup and I tried the fish taco. EVERYTHING was so delicious & presentation was beautiful! 2 of my non vegan friends were so impressed, they said they would come here if they lived closer. Would definitely make this one of my regular restaurants to frequent.

I should have written this review a long time ago. My wife and I live in the West Side and were in shock when we saw a fully vegan restaurant open up blocks away from us... AND ITS REALLY GOOD TOO. The owner is a hustler and gets really long wait times so order ahead if possible but it's so worth it. We've never had a bad experience there and we really hope we can keep enjoying it for the long run!
