20 Best East Bay Vegan Restaurants | Eater SF

"Vegan Donut Gelato serves ... vegan doughnuts and vegan gelato. The doughnuts are particularly impressive, with an airy quality difficult to find in other dairy-less iterations. The goal here is not to be fancy or trendy in the slightest. Instead, it feels like an old-school donut shop with its cases crammed full of classic glazed raised and rainbow sprinkle–topped cake doughnuts." - Eater Staff

10 of the Best Doughnuts in the East Bay | Eater SF

"East Oakland’s all-vegan doughnut shop specializes in the classics, including cake, raised, and old fashioned doughnuts alongside twists, crullers, and maple bars. While a lot of vegan doughnuts can be dense, these manage to be impressively light and fluffy." - Ellen Fort

Google
We've been searching for good vegan donuts near San Fran and this spot is by far our favorite! If it wasn't advertised as vegan I honestly wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Definitely stop by if you want some delicious donuts, it's worth the drive.

Google
so many amazing vegan donut options - and they even have spring rolls!!! i got the vegan shredded pork and it was delicious!!! the coffee was also so good

Google
Great vegan donuts with the feel of a classic donut shop. I got the glazed donut and a matcha with oat milk. Both were satisfying.

Google
Super nice family run “hole in the wall” with great vegan fare. I’ve been in search of the perfect banh mi in Oakland and this checked all the boxes. Keeping in mind they are vegan, the Vietnamese fake deli meats are delicious as usual. The mushroom pate adds umami, and the bread is fresh— crunchy crust and soft inside. Perfect! I sipped on a Vietnamese coffee while I waited, no need to worry about lactose intolerance kicking in. So tasty! I’ll have to try their donuts at some point.

Google
The best donuts in the Bay! Their custard filled choc/maple bars are extraordinary, as are the jelly-filled donuts, apple fritters, and frankly everything else I've tried. I believe it's a family-run joint, and they're always super kind and helpful. We've been known to drive an hour out of our way to load up on their stuff, and it's NEVER a disappointment!

Google
I don't typically like donuts, but these ones are really good. The Vanilla Sprinkles raised donut had the perfect texture and was delicious. Definitely try this place out if you get a chance! I'm so happy that they're vegan!

Google
We moved here from Chicago, where yeah… the winters were freezing and the hills were nonexistent. But the pastry and coffee game was on point. Here near Lake Merritt, Vegan Donut Gelato has the donuts covered. Their classic yeast raised donuts are delicious and include toppings and flavors like Oreo, you classic birthday sprinkles, Boston cream, and cinnamon crumble. I’m still hoping for crunchberries, but would visit again!

Google
The Banh Mi is amazing! I’ve always loved the donuts but the added food menu really puts it over the top! Get the combination Banh Mi you will not be disappointed!

Laura B.

Yelp
The food is so good here. I just got two giant banh mi and realized, these are new to the menu, so I should write about it Apparently they added fresh rolls with tofu/ vegan chicken/veggies/peanut sauce etc. I want to try those next Love an all vegan local spot, and the people are always so nice. if they had later hours I'd be in a lot more, but I understand it's coffee and donuts primarily I just demolished my sandwiches. So good!

Lyn M.

Yelp
VEGAN BANH MI !!!!! I know this shop is famous for its donuts, but I was excited to hear that they've added banh mi. I had the char siu version and it was amazing! The crunch and give of the bread roll, then the crunch (carrot and cucumber, jalapeño) and smoothness (paté, mayo, char siu) of the filling offers the classic banh mi experience. The umami bomb of the mushroom paté really raises the level. Most vegan banh mi just omits the paté. Absolutely delicious!

Yelp
This place is very dangerous and it should come with a full disclosure warning. It is vegan crack for me, I love every donut that they sell but my favorite are the classic - old fashion and glazed. The donuts are just so perfect in every way - size, texture & of course flavor.
google avatar

Rick M.

Yelp
I'm not a vegan but this banh mi was pretty damn good! Don't eat donuts so I'm glad they have sandwiches as well since I work close by.
google avatar

Yelp
Big, delicious doughnuts. My coworkers who are not vegan loved these doughnuts and said they wouldn't mind doing the drive again from San Jose to Oakland to get these doughnuts again.

Yelp
I knew it was National Donut Day today so I made a plan to make sure I could get a donut today. Went out to the lake for a run with a friend and made our way over to VeganDonutGelato (although I think they are changing the name to DoveDonuts...does that mean DO VEgan?!?!). The shop was very clean and there were a few tables for us to sit down and dig-in! The clerk at the counter was very friendly and was happy to tell us the names of all of the pretty frosting colors we asked about. Blueberry, Guava, Matcha, Mango, and more. Maple is my FAV though so I went with the classic, then saw there was a maple with sprinkles! Bonus and extra-fun! My donut was delicious! My friend really enjoyed her donut as well. So many raised donut options, which I think are not as easy to find as the cake options. Looking forward to a return visit to try the guava, or the chocolate, or the coconut...

Yelp
Too Good To Go: vibe check! AND IT'S A GO FOR ME! If you haven't heard of TGTG the app, please do yourself a favor and download it. Vegan Donut/Gelato is a part of that community, and I loved that I could pick up a full bag of day-old donuts around their closing time for an extremely discounted price. Through the TGTG app, I got to taste their donut holes, regular sugar donut, blueberry icing donut, and maple old fashioned donut which were all SO DIVINE. Definitely on the sweeter side, but so melt-in-your-mouth decadent. The service was quick, pickup no issues, and street parking ONLY. They're located on a busy street, so I wonder how most people park if they're not from the neighborhood. Sweet service with a smile, and cute, clean interior. Def a local favorite with quick and easy to-go/takeout process. They also serve drinks like Vietnamese coffee and apparently gelato, but I didn't walk farther into the shop to explore since they were closing up. Highly recommend supporting your local and POC-owned small biz. Will def be back and look into the gelato as well.

Yelp
This was my first time trying vegan donuts and they tasted EXACTLY like regular donuts. Staff was very friendly. It's a small shop with limited hours in Oakland. I got lucky this time and found parking.

Yelp
Seems like there has been a change in ownership of the Vegan Donut Gelato I used to know and love so well. Let me elaborate... THE GOOD: Nice, knowledgeable staff. Clean locale. Many choices of donuts, including some unusual flavors, like matcha and mango-Tajin, and nearly all are of the yeast-raised variety, which I adore. THE BAD: Went in this morning, much too early for stale donuts and yet I walked out with a whole box of them. I should have been suspicious when the friendly woman behind the counter recommended microwaving them to soften them up. Nearly all the donuts--but especially the donut holes, which she threw in as an extra--were a bit too dry and chewy to have been fresh. The lemon jelly and Bavarian cream were pretty good, but fillings don't carry a donut. THE UGLY: The apple fritter--normally one of my faves--to my great disappointment, tasted like old, overused oil. Not good. For the love of fried dough, y'all, please make these fresh every day! Last note: They did not have gelato...not sure if they typically have it later in the day or if it is off the menu.

Lin L.

Yelp
Buy donuts for my family and don't bother to tell them they're vegan. They are none the wiser.

M. D.

Yelp
I am wondering if the ownership has changed recently because the quality is not the same as it was 6 months back. Donuts used to be bigger and fresher. The last two times I ordered matcha it was really clumpy and unpleasant.
google avatar

Michelle R.

Yelp
This is my laundry reward! They're only open Th-Sun, so no washing on Monday. I can get a matcha latte and a vegan Boston creme donut! So good. Their cake donuts are really fresh as well.
google avatar

Yelp
Came to pick up too early , felt really bad for the cashier it was my fault. Owner made cashier come out and knock on my car window ( so inappropriate) and check my order , he then proceeded to scold her in front of me. Also asked for the donuts back after I was in my car with them. Donuts are decent but they lost me as a customer with this behavior. For context I picked up my order 30 mins before I was able too.
google avatar

Aubrey G.

Yelp
Staff is super friendly and welcoming. Maple icing, delicious. Walking distance from where I'm staying, amazing. Super fresh donuts with a variety of flavors and some specialty options (apple pie donut, fritters, cinnamon roll donut). Have already been back for a second visit!

Nicole M.

Yelp
What a GEM!! And they have Banh mi sandwiches now with house made vegan meats!!! I'm still dreaming about the crisp crunch of the bread, pickle, and so so soooo good filling. The donuts and coffee are exceptionally good!!! This place is welcoming, bright, beautiful! We will be back again and again.

Yelp
Vegan Donut Gelato. Now those are three words you don't often see together. Why, I believe it would be an oxymoron were it not for the fact that somehow they do go together. It's been around for at least five years, and I have to admit the concept of sustainable donuts didn't strike me as a must-try. But hey, I admit I am somewhat donut obsessive, not in terms of quantity (thank goodness) but I'm always on the lookout for a new one. After circling Lake Merritt by foot, I convinced Jamie W. to walk the three short blocks on East 18th Street to come to the unassuming store. We were immediately entranced by the wide array of vegan donuts in the display case. So much choice but no pressure from the woman behind the counter who was friendly and basically said all of them were delicious. Settling on three to share, we went with the Green Tea (an obvious choice for me but probably the least of the trio), the Blueberry Cake (a glazed old-fashioned, quite tasty), and the Chocolate with Peanuts (the hands-down winner). Each was $3.50 and worth the calories (photo: https://bit.ly/3ApYSMy). Excuse us while we go around the lake a dozen more times. DONUTS - 4 stars...tasty guilty pleasures even though no animal was sacrificed for my hips AMBIANCE - 4 stars...it's all about the donuts...didn't even ask about the gelato SERVICE - 4 stars...very friendly TOTAL - 4 stars...a yumminess alert to donut obsessives in Oakland RELATED - Want a donut? Here's a collection of places I've tried and reviewed: https://bit.ly/2uuXEPg

Yelp
Delish donuts! Great service too! I'll have to come back earlier next time as they sell out towards end of the day

Yelp
First time here and I really enjoyed it! The ambience has a nice modern chic but warm/inviting with the wood benches and the menu with movable type, even the fonts feel modern. But the donuts are the real deal. Thoroughly enjoyable as a non vegan. I tried: cinnamon crumb- very tasty, lots of textural contrast, even better than they look Donut holes: soft and fluffy, lightly glazed Guava: you know they're not messing around when they use guava frosting!!! Very surprising, I thought it was strawberry at first but delighted to taste guava. Chocolate glazed: as good as it looked Also special shoutout to Victoria the worker, she was super nice and friendly! My only wish would be if this place had more content on Instagram, even something simple and fun and relatable like the workers making lattes, I think it could be a lot more popular. So glad to find this gem!

Yelp
Oh my god I love this place. Not gonna lie I usually don't like vegan tasting things but their donuts are so fluffy and not too sweet you wouldn't think they're vegan. I personally always get the blueberry donut, some donut holes, and MANDO is the Vietnamese coffee. I feel like Vietnamese coffees usually make my stomach hurt but theirs is so creamy and yummy AND Ha* is such a sweetheart I love her. I don't usually hang around here just because there isn't too much seating but it's nice inside!
google avatar

Marilyn E.

Yelp
This place is fireeeee. The donut holes omg vegan donut holes i never found them anywhere and the cinnamon roll is now my number 1 of top cinnamon rolls as well as the "bearclaw" apple pie donut. Cant go wrong with the chocolate twists and the guava donut and the oreo donut was an impulse buy but it was good. Definitely worth the 7 hour drive lmao
google avatar

Alexis S.

Yelp
I love this place! The girl that works here is super helpful and nice, she lets you try the coffee before purchasing! She also gave us some recommendations for sightseeing in SF. The donuts are probably the best vegan donuts I've had in 7 years tbh. The strawberry jelly filled one paired with the Vietnamese coffee is soooo good. The coffee itself has a nice kick to it, and made with soy milk I believe she said. The matcha donut is also delicious and tastes like there's actually matcha in the glaze, not just green for fun. The dough is fluffy and held together well. Half a dozen ~$21 (a little pricier than I'm used to, but they are delicious and more gourmet than the average shop)
google avatar

Maya L.

Yelp
Tired of dense cake-y vegan donuts? I am. This is the ultimate place to go to get yeast-raised vegan donuts. The guy who (I think?) owns this place is always friendly to me when I go in and has a good sense of humor. The experience is best if you grab a donut or a dozen to go, though I think I remember them having a couple of small tables for 2.
google avatar

Wendy S.

Yelp
We picked up a few doughnuts from here the other morning and they were delicious. We got glazed raised jelly-yummy & my personal fav, chocolate sprinkles which were also really good-I can see myself with a hot cup of coffee eating one of those, unfortunately I only got one bite and my daughter ate the rest..lol. We also got a maple doughnut that was really good & a bunch of delicious doughnut holes. I'm not vegan, but I love good tasting food & this place delivers.

Yelp
As we go thru life, we encounter things that make us wonder....."what's this?" That's what I thought when I saw the business, "Vegan Donut Gelato" listed on my Caviar App. Caviar offered me a promo discount to try this place. So I ordered some donuts via Caviar, which is risky because most likely your picks won't be available. The app prices are the same as the actual store prices. $3.50 for a regular donut is a little high, but hey everything is more expensive now. So I get a phonecall from the store saying they sold out of some of what I ordered. I tell the store to give me what they have of equal or better value (no cheapees). So instead of 5 donuts, they sent me 6 donuts (including a jelly filled) and load of donut holes. So the store was pretty cool about compensating for my missing donuts. BTW, forget the vegan gelato. I already have tried plant-based ice cream, and it can't be much different. So how were the donuts? There's no significant difference between vegan* donuts and regular donuts. Maybe they're not as sweet. The soft textures are the same. I bet in a blind taste test, most people wouldn't know the difference. So have a vegan donut and a cup of coffee, it's as good as it gets! Service, Grade (5/5) Great customer service, thanks for calling! Donuts, Grade (5/5), Good product! Vegan Donut Gelato is located near E18th St x 4th Ave, in Oakland near Lake Merritt. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Vegan: What's a vegan donut? A vegan donut would be a donut made without the use of animal products. Non-vegan ingredients include: eggs, milk, butter, and honey. So they're made with alternative ingredients like Almond milk.

Yelp
I've had vegan donuts from a few different states and just happened upon this one while visiting dollar tree. So I'm a bit disappointed because they've doubled their prices. They're charging $3.75 for a regular donut when it use to be $2. I didn't notice anyone on here reporting it via menu pictures, I'll have to report the old prices as out of date. It makes sense because it has been 5 years- I'm just broke and a bit bitter. It seems like they're trying to go for an upscale Donut Bar- esque look and turned upscale because of the fame they got from being affordable. Kudos to them though, I'm glad they're succeeding. I decided to splurge since I had my mind set on it since the night before. It does look out of place from its surroundings, hopefully it won't gentrify the area more, it may be beneficial for them to move to a new location with more pricier foot traffic. The most unique donut here is the Cinnamon Crunch. I didn't know if I would like it, but I love it. It's definitely a fancy donut that I haven't seen at other vegan donut places, and I'll remember it. Important: they no longer serve bear claws, and they only serve glazed old fashioned (and maybe unglazed?) on the weekends so those sell out quick if you're into the crunch. Boston cremes are also fast to go she told me. The coconut and peanut chocolate ones are apparently not popular so I paused on that impulse buy today. The green tea kind of just tasted like vanilla to me? Maybe it's just me, or maybe this batch didn't have enough matcha. The Boston crème was spot on. This definitely tastes like the stuff Dunkin Donuts made when I worked there a decade ago and had to throw out dozens at the end of the night. Way less guilt inducing than Dunkin Donuts though! I was damn near sick by the time I got to the chocolate Oreo, but I bucked up for a full review lol! It was pretty nice, about what you'd expect. My favorite part is that the fancy topped donuts don't actually have holes! This reduces a ton of mess and makes for more toppings. If I were to do it over again, I would probably just get the cinnamon crunch & Boston crème. Overall, this is a really nice place. It's pretty typically priced for an upscale vegan donut place. Just have that expectation before you get here and everything should be dandy! I didn't notice any deals on dozen or half dozen but perhaps that's more of an if you ask thing. Be sure to check in here for a free donut hole! Didn't see my offer until after I left
google avatar

Yelp
I am not Vegan and these are so good!!! I picked these up for my boyfriend's family who are vegan. The apple fritter was definitely my favorite, but they are all yummy. The girl working was very patient and friendly when helping me choose which ones to get. She also threw in some extra donut holes! The cinnamon one everyone raves about was sold out when I went around 11am. I'll definitely be back to bring them to the next family gathering. 10/10!!
google avatar

Taylor T.

Yelp
10/10! The fluffiest vegan donuts we've ever had. A lot of other shops offer vegan options, but they're more cake like and dense. We love the fluffy traditional donuts and this place delivers. Cannot recommend enough!

Addie B.

Yelp
There donuts taste horrible and I think it's the oil? They taste as good as Whole Food or the Donut Farm
google avatar

Sunshine O.

Yelp
First time coming here we met the owner, his heart is pure love! We talked and cried and laughed. He is love kindness caring. And you cannot beat the donuts. They are the best I can promise that! We drive over a hour to get them because you will not find anything close to his! They are made with love, no cruelty and worth the price, drive, give it a try. I hope you fall in love like our family did!!
google avatar

Rachel M.

Yelp
Fiancé Ryan got vegan donuts for a Valentine's Day treat. I can only judge by their taste since I didn't have the pick up/order experience- Ryan mentioned they were a bit on the steeper price end and spent $16 for 4 donuts. They were pretty good, although the frosting on the old-fashioned donuts was a bit heavy and a smidge too sweet for me. We shared it with the future in-laws so everyone had a taste of each - I was partial to the Oreo raised donut. Would I get it again? I'd be open to trying the good old glazed and other offerings in the future but I'm still swooning over Donut Savant.
google avatar

Katie B.

Yelp
OMG vegan donut gelato is a game changer. I am so upset to hear that the owner will be selling the business and really hope that somebody purchases the spot and keeps the delicious donuts coming. If you haven't been yet, be sure to visit before they close! I got a maple old-fashioned doughnut and loved it. I probably haven't had an old fashion donut in at least seven or eight years, definitely haven't had one since going vegan five years ago. This was such a delicious treat!
google avatar

Cøurtney S.

Yelp
Best Bay Area donuts by far. They have both cake and yeast raised donuts as well as filled. The wide variety and excellent quality have made me come back more times than I would like to admit. Staff is also very kind. Everything is freshest in the morning so get there early for best selection.
google avatar

Raheil D.

Yelp
Delicious, truly can't believe the donuts are vegan. I'm only vegan during lent but I would honestly visit this place even when I stop being vegan! I thought vegan donuts could only be made cake-like but these donuts are fluffy and delicious!!
google avatar

Santi M.

Yelp
I absolutely love this donut shop. Was on my way to Oakland airport and wanted a donut for breakfast before catching my flight. The selection was generous. I tried the glazed, chocolate bar, old fashion, cinnamon roll and one that is basically an apple pie donut that could feed 4 people. All amazing!!!! There were plenty of seats in the cafe. Will definitely be coming back when I'm in Oakland
google avatar

Vanni C.

Yelp
Everything was delicious.. a little prices $20 for half a dozen but it was yummy I also ordered a Vietnamese coffee it was good but served with too much milk .. I like to taste coffee
google avatar

Eric T.

Yelp
Always drive pass this store everyday and me, wifey, son and dog decided to walk around the block and finally try the donuts out. Wife walked in and waited a few mins for someone to come out. We picked three things, donut holes, cinnamon roll and a sprinkle chocolate glazed. The donut hole is hard and small. The cinnamon roll was decent after we microwave it a little to soften it a little. The donut holes was hard and so small It felt like hard Little Rock. Maybe because it's vegan the donuts are harder and less fluffy but for the price of the donuts i can go get a dozen donuts for the price of these three thing I got. If you like hard expensive donuts give it try.
google avatar

Tahirah A.

Yelp
Donut goodness vegan or not you will love these donuts. I honestly can't even believe they were vegan. They just taste like a regular yummy deliciousness. They are soft and pillowy. They are giving everything you want from a donut, exceptional flavors, Delicious fillings, delectable, toppings, and a wide variety to choose from. Our server was amazing. She was super helpful and very knowledgeable. The shop is super cute. They have a couple of seats outside. I will definitely be back and I'm glad I don't live too close to here because I would definitely derail my diet on a regular basis.
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
My sister in law visited my wife this weekend. She's vegan so we tried to cater to her dietary restrictions during her visit. Truth be told, I'm a huge animal lover and would love to be vegan or better yet vegetarian, but I just know I can't do it long-term for a number of reasons. That being said, if your reason to be vegan is to be healthy and slim, this vegan donut shop is proof that being vegan won't make you skinny. I ordered a bear claw, cinnamon roll, and a couple other donuts. How were they? Good. I really liked the bear claw, even though $5 dollars sounds a little pricey, it was awesome. It's just as good as regular donuts, if not better. The guy that works here is a cool dude and very friendly. I'd totally come back whether I'm vegan or not.

Walter P.

Yelp
A+++ donuts of all kinds! No chance a non-vegan would eat one of these and find it unpalatable. They are all so delicious. Very happy to have this place so conveniently located near Lake Merritt. Will visit often.

Hà K.

Yelp
ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!! I got their rasberry/strawberry filled, regular sugar donut, blueberry raised, and guava cake, they are all really good and flavorful, their donut quality is the best I have ever tried. We also got their Vegan Vietnamese coffee 10/10 (OMG best vegan vietnamese coffee so far), and their Thai tea is also SO SO SO GOOD!! We definitely will back here

Martin P.

Yelp
Very disappointed in the service I received. As a vegan for over 31 years (I'm 49) I try and do my best to support vegan establishments. When it first opened my mother and I came frequently. Often buying at least a dozen at a time. We had a bad experience (which I'm choosing not to detail) and stop coming. Yesterday, on the 13th of July I called my mother and I told her that "I was going to stop by and get some donuts". I was greeted by a very nice young lady who made the visit very welcoming. I order a half dozen donut holes and a cinnamon role. Great service. When I got to my job and had my first break around 10:45am I tried a donut hole. I immediately spit it out as it was so hard I couldn't help but to think that they gave me an old donut hole. I touch the other five and I just decided that I would take it back after work. The cinnamon role was delicious. Anyway around 3pm I decide that I would called them to let them know that I would be returning in the morning to get a donut that was more to my likening. They closed at 2pm which I didn't know but I figured it would be no problem. This morning I returned with the 5 donut holes and I explained my situation to another lady and I was shocked when she told me that she wouldn't give me a refund or exchange because I didn't come back yesterday. I looked at her and simply said "it's not that easy to come back before 2pm as my job doesn't afford me the time to do so." She went on to state that "she tried a donut hole yesterday and that they were very soft and therefore she couldn't exchange or refund it". We went back and forth about it with me stating that "some were probably soft and some were probably hard but that doesn't negate how hard my donut was". I continue on by saying, "I'm not here to argue over $3.50 and that I was hoping that it would be easy to rectify this situation." I went on to explain that I'm a property owner in the area and that I couldn't believe she was making this about her and her experience with the donut hole." Finally, I said "look, I'm not worried about it and just to show you how petty you're being, I'll order and pay for another cinnamon role." She attempted to save face and offer it for free while continuing to state that I didn't bring it back yesterday." At this point I had to show her on my phone that I had called the day before around 3pm but it was close. That silenced her for a moment and she proceeded to offer the donut for free again but I said "no thank you, you've already shown me enough." I paid for the donut and left. Suffice to say I didn't leave a tip as I did the day before. Very poor service. Don't know if I'll be returning. I tried!!! #Irritatedtoevenhavetowriteaboutthis MP

Yelp
Tried this shop, last Friday, after purchasing a promotion. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed it. The doughnuts weren't overly sweet and a higher quality than a lot of "typical" doughnuts. If in the area, I will totally be back.

MW T.

Yelp
We like this place. Great donut -regardless of the vegan thing. Only drawback is the limited hours, but I suppose that's for the best -I'd be eating these all the time!

Yelp
I've tried the bear claw and a few different donuts as well as the gelato. I'll start by saying I wasn't a fan of any of the gelato so I'll only be here for donuts. I hadn't had a bear claw in years, since post going vegan, so was very excited. On my first bite, I was a little disappointed, but as I kept going, I found that there was filling inside and that was very good. It wasn't a traditional bear claw so I was a bit surprised, in that I was expecting it to be pretty similar to the dairy ones I used to have growing up. I guess I just like them like that so wasn't the biggest fan but it was pretty good. The donuts, however, are pretty spot on. They are all on the smaller side which is a perfect portion size for one person. I may like the glazed or jelly donuts better from Donut Farm, but the portion sizes of the regular donuts here are perfect. You won't feel gross or heavy after. The taste is pretty great too. Highly recommend! Service is super friendly and really nice as well.

Yelp
The best vegan donuts! I am so tired of going to other places and they offer vegan donuts but they are cake style. No thanks! I love that these are traditional raised donuts. My favs are the maple bar, old fashions (i think only served on the weekends) and the apple fritter. But I love them all. The people who work there are always nice and will have conversations with you. I can't wait to go back. Please open another location in Sonoma County!

Yelp
So, the lady has been craving Donuts. Since she's vegan, we found this spot this week. However, Friday they sold out fast. Saturday morning we came to try this spot. We ordered a dozen donuts which consist of, strawberry filled, lemon filled, custard filled, chocolate and crumble donuts. Also a Apple fritter, a Thai Iced Tea and bottle of green tea. As I checked out, total cost was $55. What? I was shocked. Well, I haven't purchased a dozen of donuts since I was in the corporate world 7 years ago. Even then, when I ordered gourmet danishes, it don't recall paying this much. However, I was surprised by the cost since it takes less ingredients. No eggs and Milk. These are basic donuts. They were good. They taste just like regular donuts. We enjoyed them. The service was awesome. Friendly owners. I'm not sure if it's worth the price since there's nothing special about it. Perhaps the name "vegan" is the promotion here. The lady being Vegan for years and can cook and bake herself -- she too was surprised. We're both glad we tried it. Basic and nothing to really rave about. Over priced Vegan donuts. Nothing really special for the price. Ehhh...

Yelp
I love this place. The owner is a very sweet and passionate man who has been vegan for nearly 30 years and is super passionate about veganism. The donuts are delicious, as is the coffee. While the shop itself is a bit dingy, it's charming and familiar. I hope this shop stays open forever!

Yelp
My friends and I were looking for a quick vegan dessert spot nearby and stumbled on this spot. They don't have gelato right now because they're experimenting with flavours but they have a pretty big variety of vegan donuts and I was impressed! All the donuts we got were the raised donut just with different glazes. The donut was airy and tasted just like a regular raised donut. Half a dozen donuts is $20. Here's what we tried: - Matcha raised donut: I wish there was more matcha! It was still very tasty just wanted more of the matcha flavour. - Chocolate raised donut: cannot go wrong with this classic - Chocolate donut with Bavarian cream: by far my favourite. I loved this one! Perfect ratio of cream and chocolate and donut. - Oreo raised donut: pretty good! I liked the texture of the oreo pieces sprinkled on top. - Cinnamon raised donut: once again wished I could've tasted more of the cinnamon! Still tasty tho! Overall, satisfied our sweet tooth and the staff was soooo friendly. Loved the donut holes they threw in for checking in on Yelp too! Would recommend.

Yelp
I am super impressed they still had raised donuts when I got there midday, unlike their competitor (see my other review). Best of all, they still had Boston cream donuts!!! There were only a few left, and I was thrilled to snag one. The party before me ordered $90+ worth of donuts, so I was a little worried there would be none left. I was disappointed the jelly donut option only consisted of lemon. I've only ever had red jelly donuts. I found the lemon jelly donut exterior not very sweet. The lemon filling was ok. The Boston cream is the best! The exterior was sweet in and of itself, and the custard is delectable on its own. As you can see, I enjoy my filled donuts in a compartmentalized fashion- exterior first, then interior. Sadly they were out of donut holes when I got there, and the party before me took the last fritters and cinnamon rolls. The raised and cake donuts are $3.50 each, which is comparable with the other vegan donut option in town.
