The Best Restaurants Near Smith, Amherst, Mount Holyoke, and Hampshire | Eater

"What began as a pandemic hobby developed into an occasional “order-by-DM” outfit in a small Western Mass apartment, which in turn yielded Will Meyer’s full-time job. Along with business partner Mike Cook, Meyer slings sourdough-crust pies laden with cashew cheese and seasonal vegetables from an Airstream stationed outside of Abandoned Building Brewery. Make sure to save room for dessert, as the team is dishing up some exciting flavor combinations like carrot cake with Chinese five-spice powder and chocolate chip cookies with tahini." - Nat Belkov

The pizza is amazing! As a vegan, I'm used to settling for mediocre pizza with weird tasting cheese. But Vegan Pizza Land has great vegan cheese, and just great all around pizza! My partner and I were actually shocked at how good it was the first time we went, and we've become regulars since! My favorite option is the animal lovers. And they also have multiple great dessert options. The setting is cool too, they make the pizza out of a vintage airstream behind a brewery in an old abandoned factory.

Not the easiest place to find, but if we had read the description in Google (go through the Abandon Building Brewery) we would have found it no problem. That was on us. Although the meatball didn’t really pop, the pizza itself was tasty - we shared the MEATBALL (TOMATO SAUCE, CASHEW MOZZARELLA, HOUSE MEATBALLS, CARAMELIZED ONIONS, CASHEW PARM) and a Dirty Girl IPA (also tasty). There was a guy playing live music (Saturday around 6:00 PM). The space must be a good place to enjoy live music. The only negative was the initial service. There was no line, just my wife and I, and instead of taking our order, the counter person said he needed to retrieve something from the kitchen first. We watched him walk off into the distance. About 15 minutes later he re-emerged. He told us he’d be back, but not sure how another minute to get our order going would have impacted getting more premade salads for the kitchen.

Drove half an hour (as vegans will do) with my bestie whom lives two hours from me so the ride was fun; didn’t even know what we were gunna find and it was a GEM 💎!! The pizza was A- mazing. In an empty mill building with a brewery next to it. Beer was perfect too… So we’re the people - it ended up being the brewery’s anniversary party.

If you’ve never visited Vegan Pizza Land (coffee counter specifically) PLEASE I’m begging you to go. The Korean chickpea salad sandwich is the best sandwich in the entire Pioneer Valley. It will literally transport you to another dimension.

I love everything vpl makes with all of my heart. there was an era of my life where I ate vpl at least once if not twice a week every single week for at least 3 or 4 months. I don’t know what the secret is for the gluten free crust but it’s the best gf pizza I’ve ever had, bar none, vegan or not vegan. the rotation of seasonal ingredients always results in creative and delicious pizza toppings I’ve never found anywhere else (can say the same about the wonderfully inspired coffee counter menu items!!). i moved to japan and every time a menu update goes up on instagram i stare wistfully at my phone. please go and eat the best pizza in the valley and also go to the coffee counter because i cant!!!!

Best Pizza in New England vegan or not. Inventive and unique side dishes, friendly crew of staff members and housed in a quaint urban decay setting that's wildly Instagramable. Don't miss out.

Gourmet, unpretentious, and delicious pizza! We ordered the Vodka Yuba Sausage, which was our favorite, and the Kimchi & Tofu Bacon, which was also very good. The cheese was yummy, but the sourdough crust was the standout. Two pizzas were just right for the three of us. The indoor seating at Abandoned Building Brewery was spacious and welcoming, with no pressure to order a drink. Kids and dogs were welcome. Looks like I found my new favorite pizza spot!

We had VPL cater our wedding and the food/service was simply divine! Special shoutout to the vegan lemon poppyseed cupcakes with vanilla Swiss buttercream, they were out of this world delicious.

Yelp
Decided to try a marinara pizza while at an Abandoned Building Brewery event and was impressed! The crust is fairly mild. It doesn't have a strong fermented flavor, which lets the very fresh-tasting and well-seasoned sauce, garlic, and basil shine. In my opinion the crust texture fell in the sweet spot: toothsome and chewy while still tender and moist. I snuck a piece of broccoli rabe and tempeh sausage gluten free pizza from our table neighbor and enjoyed that as well, not knowing at the time that it was GF. Usually I'm a bit of a bit of a broccoli rabe hater but, unsurprisingly, the Vegan Pizza Land team prepares it much better than I do with a not unpleasant bitterness. I'll be looking forward to trying more of the menu and am glad to have a great pizza option so close to home.

Yelp
We had the best experience with Vegan Pizza Land catering our event in October 2023! They absolutely knocked it out of the park, surpassing all of our expectations. Even our non-vegan guests were skeptical at first, but one bite of their mouth-watering pizza and desserts had them hooked! I can't even begin to describe how delicious their flavor combinations are - it's like nothing I've ever tasted before. Trust me, you need to run (not walk!) to Vegan Pizza Land as soon as possible. You won't regret it!
