Yelp
Veggie village is go to favorite for Malaysian Chinese vegetarian food! This is the third time we've been here. Didn't like all the dishes tried this time but I've loved their flavors when the dishes are right.
For my own reference, need to remember to ask for LESS SALT and SAUCE ON THE SIDE for fried dishes.
This time, tried village fried rice, yuxiang eggplant, stir fry flat noodle, tom yum fish, and hot&sour soup TO GO for pickup.
1. Village fried rice - interesting green fragrance that tastes bit stale like the old plastic oil of the storage container that it could be held in, but I'm not sure if this is the seasoning original flavor as my wife says she's tasted this flavor before in Malaysia. Wouldn't order again for myself.
2. Yuxiang eggplant - standard delicious black pepper taste with tofu. Def would get again.
3. Stir fry flat noodle - tastes like pad see ew, good flavoring, more mild flavors compared to other dishes ordered this time.
4. Tom yum fish - love the flavor profiles of the sour sweet salty of tom yum. When ordering TO GO, order the SAUCE ON THE SIDE. We forgot to this time so the fish breading was soggy. It should be a standard option for TO GO. Def would get again while dining in or to go with sauce on the side.
5. Hot & sour soup - not my favorite but my wife says it tastes pretty good for hot & sour soup.
