Veggilish

Deceptive ad stating it is vegan when it serves salmon and chicken. Two vegan options but salad based, nothing warm or hot. My husband told me the cashier was rude to him about not having restrooms. Food wasn’t bad but boring. Just an FYI.

I came here on a Tuesday afternoon to get a Togo bowl. I got the spring mix with rice noodles as my base. Added all the veggies, chicken, chipotle dressing, and cheese. Veggies were well cut and super fresh! Chicken was tasteful by its marination. Staff was super helpful since it was my first time there. My bowl was absolutely delish with a little bit of spice from the dressing! If you need a quick healthy bite, this is your place!

This was our first time eating here and I already know we will be going back. The service was fast and friendly, the food was delicious or rather, Veggilish!!! The price was super reasonable and overall, it was an excellent experience. There were many options for already made bowls and plenty of opportunities to create one's own. The variety of sauces available are definitely worth trying out, I liked their peanut sauce the best!

As someone who regularly makes and eats bowls like this, I was not impressed. Not quite sure why they offer different sauces as they barely put any on. In fact, you may even need extra sauce to cover up the taste of the frozen steamed veggies that clearly had that distinct freezer burn taste and texture. I gave them two stars because I would go back if I lived or worked near here and I needed something healthy in a pinch, but I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.

When I was homeless I came here starving one day and they gave me a full plate of really healthy food that probably saved my life. I'll never be able to thank them enough for that. The food is excellent too!!

Had a fantastically filling lunch here, but had to wait a long time. There was only one cashier and seemed like only one cook, and then were already behind on orders when I got there. The cashier warned me it would be a 10-12 minute wait as they cook the fish protein add on to order, but he was incredibly friendly and accommodating. I got a house made iced hibiscus tea that was tangy and slightly bitter, very tasty. Once I finally got my food it was worth the wait. The salmon was cooked to perfection and the cilantro sauce and delishious. Will definitely be returning, probably at a less busy time though.

Indulge in exceptionally healthy and delicious food at this establishment with outstanding customer service—no regrets guaranteed. Enjoying one of their bowls leaves you feeling great throughout the day. With a consistent top-tier quality, I make it a point to visit 2-3 times a month.

They r good! Its make salad fun! But they serve meats like chicken and salmon. Not really a "vegetarian" place if cross-contamination in the kitchen.

With The Taco Stand right around the corner, I applaud you for going for the healthier option. WIth that said, you can't go wrong with Veggilish. Simply walk up to the counter, let the staff know what you'd like in your bowl, and away you go. There's limited seating, but outside by the sidewalk is pretty nice on a sunny day. I really enjoyed my bowl and will definitely be back if I'm in the area looking for a quick lunch! That is, when I"m not craving tacos :)

Excellent choice of veggies, sauces, and bases for a nutritious and delicious meal. I forgot to take a picture of my meal because I came in hungry and it smelled and tasted too good to pause. The service was fast and the pricing was very reasonable for what one gets.

Cute cozy space in downtown. Super fast in getting food and smoothies. Really nice guy was working and the space was good for computer work too. It was quiet. And spacious.

Vegetarian, vegan, healthy and delicious. Interesting menu with a variety my selections . What more do you want? Do your body a favor and chews vegan, and vegetarian food, options, and support businesses that provide it.

I had the tofu Thai peanut bowl it was well seasoned and fulling more then I expected. This spot is in the cut downtown off of seventh drive to fast and you'll pass it up. Parkings not the best so you might have a lil trek but it's worth it. I'm gonna try the chicken serrano bowl next to see how that one taste.

I have to say this is one of the best healthy lunches i've had when i'm at the office. Its very filling, fresh, flavorful and healthy. I will definitely come back to try other options.

This was our first visit to Veggilish. We both had the tofu peanut bowl which was excellent. Gone are the days when eating healthy had to be a bad experience. Friendly service. Will return, highly recommend.

This is the 2nd time I've tried to get a meal there during open business hours only to find out "I just missed" getting served from a sign on a door. Each time it was around 2-230 - well before closing time. My guess is that if it's not busy, they close up and leave. I have a late lunch so will not be coming back.

The food is delicious One bite into it, and turned yourself into a rabbit hahahahahah Cause, you won't be looking up anytime soon until the bowl is cleaned!!!! OMG!! I got there before the lunch rush, and was able to enjoyed this nutrition meal Sitting there and sort people watching. Saw a meter maid marking cars for their next rounds of issuing tickets ... lol As much as I enjoyed this dish but I still have to say this---- ¿Dónde está la carne? Hahahhahaha

Called to pick my order up. Couldn't because it was past the time they're open. No problem. Super odd hours but ok. I Said I would pick up the next day during regular business hours. Owner said sure, see you tomorrow. I show up the next day to pick my order up, owner says, sorry man I forgot to make your order. Lol. I say no problem, just make it now and I'll wait since I just drove across town. Owner says sorry we're out of broccoli. I say no problem since I drove across down, just make the rest of it. Sorry we also don't have chicken. Seemed like he was Just going down the list to avoid making the meal prep order. I wish I had the same experience as the other reviewers but I guess I got the short straw. All good just not coming back after this nonsense

Most delicious health food spot in San Diego. Def would do the meal prep option! If you work downtown San Diego I would 100% grab lunch here.

#vegan Im going to keep this short and sweet. Go here and get the tofu.... So amazing, what to they make it with??? I came here twice in one day because the food was delicious and felt really healthy. The smoothies are decent too. Took about 10 min for my to-go order. Just yum.

Its a very small place with a very basic and simple menu. I got the roasted garbanzo bean bowl and it was exactly what I was hoping for! I highly recommend the sesame ginger dressing, and the chili garlic. They were both super tasty and the worker let me get one on the side so I could try it before putting it on!

If you like your veggies, this is a good spot. They specialize in bowls and juices. You walk up to the counter and choose your own ingredients. They also have a power bowl option (see my pic). We both ordered quinoa and veggies. My add on was fried tofu with a Thai peanut sauce. My partner got fried chickpeas with cotija cheese. My main concern/comment to the readers is that the portions are not too much. Perfect for me, but really smaller than usual. The parking too is hard. But it's downtown. Just come and give it a go if veggie is how you roll.

I found Veggilish through Yelp, and while staying nearby for business I decided to try it out. The location is off of Seventh avenue and C street. The entrance is nice, you'll walk through the outdoor seating then enter the restaurant. They have some tables inside, social distanced, and a big board in which you pick your options. You start with a protein (tofu in my case) and add all the bases (quinoa and greens for me) then the veggies you want (I picked them all, no extra charge for adding all) and picked a dressing which was the chili garlic. There are contactless payment options, Apple pay etc, however not truly contactless as you can add a tip on the ipad screen. I really wish programmers would figure out how to let you add a tip from Apple pay from your phone. Not having to touch a screen (During Covid) you have no idea who did before you.....I'll digress. Not a fault of this place, just a general gripe. My food took a while. Longer then I thought. I took it to go, putting it in my bag (save the plastic bags people, it's not hard to plan ahead and bring a reusable bag) but once I set it in my bag and set off I felt it shift. The packaging is not that secure for takeout (add a rubber band around the to go container?) so I thought all the contents had spilled out. Fortunately they didn't, but the container had to be nursed to make sure nothing spilled out. The meal itself was good, though surprisingly smaller than I expected. I ate it all, which was well balanced but was mostly small cubed veggies with some broccoli florets sprinkled in with a small amount of greens. However the sauce was delish. I don't mean to put anyone off of Veggilish. It's good. But it can be better with more attention to detail. Yes, I'll be back.

With many restaurants around the area it's easy to just go to a place that is not good for your health. But if you want to feel great after eating then this place is your go to. You'll feel guilty free and have all the nutrients needed for the day. Great service from the time you walk in. Fast and friendly staff. I've eaten here several times and it never disappoint. Healthy food that makes you feel good after you eat, and it's filling. I ordered the tofu peanut bowl and it was packed with veggies, beans, and all the good stuff. I'll definitely be back again!

Arrived in San Diego and decided to head downtown. Found Veggilish on Yelp. This was great! Being a sauce person, I loved being able to add sauces. Try the cilantro one and avocado one. Sorry I can't remember names. Owner was gracious. Loved supporting this small business.

It was a good experience. No complaints at all! The service was very kind and attentive. The place has an awesome feel to it. Went there at like 12:00PM, lunch break, hungry and in hurry! The lady working was so nice and friendly, made my salad perfectly, and that is all it takes to get a great review from me.

Healthy lunch for the win! Think of this spot as a veggie packed chipotle or any build your own meal type of place. Lots of veggies- all steamed! Salad greens and extra toppings like seeds, nuts, dried berries. I love an easy spot like that that allowed you to visit Our your meal and be in and out of there in under 15 minutes.

Was running late to work and didn't make my lunch. So I ordered veggilish just for the sake of it looking "healthy" and being close by I really expected everything to just be bland and cold and just... boring but I was SOO pleasantly surprised. This is beyond tasty. The salmon is seasoned/marinated so well and the vegetables are par cooked to perfection. The sauce I ordered brought my food from a 10 to a 12! Will definitely continue to "forget" my lunches from here on out ahaha

Decent spot 2/3 times so far I enjoyed my lunch. It's a simple "compost" approach to a healthy lunch. Throw a bunch of veggies and gluten free options and bam you got a decent lunch at $12. The portions are a little small for the price but you are in downtown, so it's expected. I LOVE the garlic/ chili sauce they offer, it's a well blend of spice and garlic. It really tops the salad. I had the chicken 2x so far and 1x it's been overly salted (tasted like pre package chicken with high sodium) then I ventured out and has salmon which was delicious and served HOT! Yum. The cafe it's self is quaint, small and no A/C so it gives me an island feel. The staff is nice and pleasant to order from, they seem happy and enjoy working for the owners. It's a pretty simple concept to offer the community and l enjoy lunch here when I'm working downtown and supporting a local business.

As someone who was vegan for a number of years, I'm all about healthy meals. Veggilish is your choice of steamed black beans, broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini and carrot over quinoa or salad or a mixture of both topped with a sauce of your choice and optional protein. Decent sized portion for lunch. The one hang-up I have with this place is cost. $9.50 plus tax for a bowl containing less than $2 of vegetables and protein is just absurd. This is something easily made at home and that can easily be meal-prepped for much less money. It's not like the veggies are even are cooked to order - they're sitting in steam trays. There is nothing sophisticated about a scoop of steamed vegetables. Save money and make this yourself! Bottom line - not worth the money!

The absolute best salads in downtown. The Chicken is fantastic. The veggies always FRESH. I get takeout from here once a week. It's a little pricey but you can offset it by going on Groupon. & get the Chipotle dressing I have tried the salmon too. & I'm not vegetarian by any means but add the fried Tofu, & the Garbanzo beans to any salad.

If I could bring home one restaurant from San Diego, this would be it! We walked out of our way to give this a shot before leaving San Diego and we are so glad we did! The restaurant is a little shop in a row of restaurants and there is a little sign out front. Walking it, it's a bit bare, but we pushed on based on the other Yelp reviews. The staff was amazingly friendly. We told her we've never been there and she explained the options. You pick a base (pasta, quinoa, black beans, or spring mix), any vegetables that sound good (vegetables are seasonal and super fresh), other toppings (such as mixed nuts, cheese, etc.) and top with a sauce. Everything sounded delicious so most of it ended up in my bowl. Checking in to Yelp gets you a free hibiscus tea, so we took advantage of that as well. The bowl was so delicious! I inhaled the whole bowl in one sitting. It's a lot of food, so that's saying something for me. I was super impressed with the sautéed tofu as well. Perfectly cooked and seasoned to pure tastiness. Totally wish there was something similar back home! Would consider returning to San Diego just to eat here!

Really friendly staff and owner Damian make delicious, very fresh and healthy food every day. My go to is the quinoa based grilled chicken bowl with all the veggies and a delicious pistachio curry sauce and extra avocado as a topping. Ot is a very filling portion that won't leave you feeling weighed down like that Big Mac at McD's you were considering. Give Veggilish a try and support a great local business!

The only thing #vegan here is the tofu with veggies. I admit I thought there would be mock meats based on the name of the establishment, but it only refers to the vegetables bases. (I called to confirm.) Still, the tofu was well seasoned, stir fried with a crunchy outside, and the serrano dressing had just enough kick without being overly spicy. It was VERY delicious and non-processed! Plus a free organic hibiscus tea with check in. Glad we found this!

I came here because I had a Groupon. Definitely will be back, Groupon or not! Veggilish is a build your bowl style restaurant. Everything is super fresh, very tasty, and nicely portioned. The staff is very friendly and fair with the amount they give you. I got roasted chickpeas as my protein and really enjoyed it! It was nice to have hot protein in an otherwise not hot bowl. The sauces are so good! I like the chili sauce and the Thai peanut. My friend got the avocado salsa and said it was awesome!! Perfect lunch spot that won't break the bank. $10 of you get lost proteins. Yummy!!

I was looking for a healthy lunch place within a mile or so of the Marriott Marquis and one option that popped up was Veggilish. I customized a bowl with spring mix, quinoa, all the vegetables, tofu, avocado and nuts. For dressing, I couldn't decide between the curry one and the Serrano cilantro so I got both. Delicious and healthy! My only "con" would be the wooden utensils.

Delicious!!! My coworker has been raving about the bowls from Veggilish for weeks and now I know why. Fantastic flavors, fresh veggies, and quick service. My new favorite lunch spot in downtown SD.

Their menu is so simply & straightforward, I love it! Base- Pasta Veggies- Broccoli, carrots, zucchini Protein- Dressing- Serrano Cilantro + cheese, nuts Hibiscus Tea: Free with Yelp check in, they have the option of sweet or not. The sweet one was extremely subtly sweet. So good! I inhaled my food & loved, loved, loved the dressing! Everything is served warm, the portion is big enough to have leftovers for later, & the bonus, it is healthy! Make sure if you order to go that you open the box (duh) to make sure that you have everything you ordered, I was missing my tofu but that is okay.

My boyfriend and I just picked up food from here for the first time and WOW. We did not expect it to be so tasty! I built my bowl with chicken, black beans, spring mix, all the veggies, chipotle sauce and sesame sauce and it was SO tasty! The chicken was so flavorful and very fresh. My bf also absolutely loved his bowl, which was surprising cause he's definitely more of a junk food type of guy. Thanks for the delicious food, WE WILL BE BACK (-:

Wow!!!!! I only have one wish for this place, I wish they were everywhere!!!! I had a meal here today and , obviously, it was great :). They are located in the gas lamp district of SanDiego. It's a small restaurant with a few tables outside and a few inside. They make "bowls ". They start with a base such as greens, quinoa, black beans or pasta. Then steamed veggies are added, then protein (chicken, salmon, tofu). They have additional adds like cheese, sprouts and also sauces. They have sugar and dairy free smoothies (I had strawberry/banana with coconut water. My husband had a bowl and a Pellegrino. He loved his food too. Our server was Mo. She was helpful and explained everything perfectly. She also made our bowls yummy. We sat outside , it's a nice place to be. I ended up with enough food to feed me twice ! I'll be back :)

Clean, fresh, fast & the portion was regular size. I got the bowl with salmon and fish was really good with the jalapeño-cilantro dressing. I also got the hibiscus water and I loved that it wasn't sweetened. Guy at the counter was really nice and pleasant with everyone. I definitely would come back.

Amazing spot for lunch. Super flavorful, filling, and healthy. I usually get the chicken bowl and I'm never disappointed.

Still as good as ever! I started to always get their noodles because it's made from edamame so you get an extra punch of protein. Their guacamole is also super good and adds creaminess to your bowl. I don't know how they do it but their veggies are never overcooked and have a good crunch. Love that they switch it up!

Thought I'd be home by noon for a homemade lunch, but unfortunately got held up at the office. Thankfully, however, @veggilish across the street saved the day!! Just discovered this amazing place & I am beyond delighted with such quality food!!! It felt like I was walking into my own kitchen to make something similar I would normally whip up! * * * Tried their bowl and constructed mine with a quinoa base, broccoli and beets, chicken, nuts and a combo of spicy sauces and mango salsa on top! Absolutely delicious!!!

Vegetarian and vegan based restaurant. They're awesome! Everything is fresh and made to order. Only downside is they tend to run out of food quickly.

Nice selection of veggies and protein options and great sauces. Quick and very good service. I would make it a point of dropping by for something healthy and different. Enjoy.

I love an easy healthy lunch! Found Veggilish on my Yelp app and decided to give it a go with a few of my co-workers. Located right next to a yoga studio, Veggilish isn't a fancy spot but it does the job. It's a quick and easy take out spot, with a few tables if you'd like to eat there. You tell the nice lady at the counter which proteins and veggies you'd like and she makes you a nice big plate from her food counter station. I would love it if everything was organic, but switching over to veggies is a great start! I really loved how I felt after eating my lunch because I didn't have to deal with feeling sleepy or gross from a heavy lunch.

The food here is so flavorful and delicious. I picked up lunch for 2 friends and myself and we all loved it. With so many healthy options, I can't wait to go back for lunch again. Also when I ordered over the phone, the girl who took my order was so nice.

Simply Perfect. When you have good ingredients you don't have to get too fancy. This applies to Veggilish because it is really simple. I ordered a bowl with lettuce, black beans, nuts, broccoli, zucchini, organic tofu, and guacamole- with lemon dijon dressing. It was really the perfect healthy lunch and it was filing and scrumptious. I will 100% be back.

It's ok. Good healthy lunch option. Little overpriced for what it is. For example, today I asked for sauteed garbanzo beans as my protein (which you always have to wait 10 min for.) I got home with my to-go order and the beans are what taste like 3-4 days old, and most certainly not sauteed. They randomly put broccoli on top, I guess maybe to compensate for the old beans? Stingy amount of dressing so tastes dry. I ordered a pretty expensive smoothie, it had the consistency of water. Taste good, but nothing smoothie about it. Guacamole upcharge is understandable but they make their guac (which tastes GREAT) about 1/4 Tomatoes and you get a TINY scoop. I eat here semi-regularly and always get the same thing. It's just too expensive to be given leftover food from the day before. It needs to be fresh, which it normally is, but not today. I can't do $12 for a bowl of veggies and old beans.

Good price, good portions. For those dipping their toes into vegetarianism, it's a good place to give it a try. You won't feel super full and sluggish afterwards. :-) Also, pretty fast to get your food and get going.

You pick a base (salmon, chicken, or tofu) and then you pick veggies (they had broccoli, beets, sweet potatoes) and then you add a dressing and some nuts. The veggies are really plain but they do have hot sauce and spices you can add. The name could be confusing but the place isn't vegetarian. However if you are vegetarian/vegan, tofu is your only option. I almost got it but the girl told me it was totally plain tofu and I immediately changed my mind. I hate plain tofu, I was surprised anyone would serve that. But I guess simplicity is their thing. Fair prices. Friendly service. It's a pretty good healthy lunch place just be aware that everything is very plain.

Nothing super special about Veggilish. They had good sauces and options to pick from. I thought the serving size was a little small for the food. Would recommend if looking for a quick and healthy bite to eat.

Dirty, disorganized, poorly trained employees (but kind and well intentioned!) Almost aborted my mission as I waited for my food, but decided to try it and am still questioning that decision. Would not go back.
